I've enjoyed doing these and overall I'm happy with how they turned out but I'm gonna take a week break from writing. Hope you enjoy it!
(5 years after the finale)
"Ugh!" Luz groaned as she paced back and forth in the hospital waiting room.
It had been many years since Belos was defeated and it took almost 4 years to completely rebuild the Boiling Isles. During that time the human who saved the Boiling Isles, Luz Noceda, was attending the University of Wild Magic while also helping the rebuild. Shortly after she finished college she married her high school sweetheart Amity Blight. It was a beautiful ceremony that nearly all the citizens of the Boiling Isles attended. After they married they traveled all over the demon realm and even spent some time in the human world. After being married for two years and with the help of a certain spell they were expecting their first child. Which brings us to today. Amity was currently in labor and had been for 10 hours and Luz had been waiting in the hospital waiting room the entire time. For some reason unlike the human world, the Boiling Isles didn't allow the other parent to be in the room with their spouse during labor. Luz's mind had been going wild the entire time.
"Luz," Eda said to her student, "You need to calm down, you won’t be relaxed if you keep pacing."
"How can I be calm Eda?!" Luz replied, "It's been hours and I haven't heard anything! What if something went wrong?"
Camila walked up and started rubbing her shoulders, "Mija, I understand how worried you are, but getting worked up isn't gonna help."
Luz took a deep breath and tried to calm down, "I know Mom, I'm sorry."
Eda got up and walked to Luz and hugged her, "You got nothing to be sorry for kid, just try to think positive."
"Have you two decided on a name?" Camila asked, thinking that talking to Luz about this would help her calm down
"Well, If it's a girl we would name it Azura."
Eda raised an eyebrow, "Azura? After that book? Why?"
"Well, it's the first thing that me and Amity bonded over so it just made sense." Luz answered her mentor, "And if it's a boy we will name him after dad, Manny."
Hearing that part made Camila's heart melt.
"He’ll be so proud of you for doing that, mija," Camila replied with a proud smile and tears in her eyes knowing Luz and Amity would name their son after Luz’s late father and her late husband.
"By the way, I'm not an expert on this, but can't the doc tell what it is before it's born?" Eda asked.
"Yeah," Luz answered, "But me and Amity wanted it to be a surprise."
"Okay," Eda asked, "But why though? You know me and your mother want the deets, right?"
"I know," Luz answered, "But it’s better if we keep it a secret. When Willow and Hunter had their kid, they instantly told everyone about him and Hunter was so proud. Me and Amity don’t wanna be that much showing off our kid, we want her to be special in her own way."
Eda nods in understanding. Suddenly, Emira and Edric enter the waiting room.
"How is she? Is Mittens doing okay?" Edric asked.
"She's still in labor," Camila answered.
Emira walked up and wrapped Luz up in a hug, "You ok Luz?"
Luz returned the hug, "I'm nervous Em, very nervous."
Eda grabbed Edric's wrist, "Yo Blight boy, where is your old man?"
"He couldn't make it, he has a lot going on at Blight Industries," Edric answered.
Amity worked with Alador at Blight Industries making all sorts of new contraptions. Ever since Amity started carrying his grandchild his workload increased. However, this didn't bother him; the only thing that he cared about was both his daughter's and grandchild's health. No doubt he would be there first thing in the morning
"Excuse me, Mrs. Noceda?" A doctor said as she walked through the door.
Luz heard her name and rushed to the doctor, "I-Is everything ok?"
The doctor smiled at Luz, "Your wife and daughter are both healthy."
Luz's eyes went wide and quickly formed tears of joy, "D-Daughter? I have a daughter!?"
The doctor nodded, "Yes. You may all go in a see them now,"
"We'll give you a minute alone with them," Camilla said with tears in her eyes as well. In fact, everyone had tears of joy, "We'll go in after you've had time with them."
Luz went into the room where her wife and their newborn were in. When Luz entered the room she immediately saw Amity who had tears in her eyes as she held their child close to her. The image of Amity and their child would be burned into Luz's brain forever. Amity lifted her head and saw Luz slowly walk towards her.
Amity smiled at her wife, "Hey Mi Amore, come meet your daughter, Azura Noceda-Blight."
Luz slowly walked to the bed where they lay. Luz pulled a chair up next to the bed and sat next to them. Amity slowly and carefully handed Luz their child. The world sat still for Luz at that moment, the best moment of her life. She had Luz's skin tone, light freckles on her face, and light brown hair. The baby slowly opened her lids revealing her golden eyes.
Luz gasped. "She has your eyes Hermosa!"
Azura let out a small yawn.
"Hey," Luz said in a soft tone, "Hey sweetie, I'm your mama, I'm so happy to finally meet you."
"Oh. My. Titan." They heard Eda say.
Amity saw Eda, her mother-in-law, and her siblings standing in the doorway, "Come on in, everyone."
"How are you feeling Mija?" Camila asked her daughter-in-law.
"I'm just weak, but I'm fine." Amity replied.
Luz carefully got up and walked to her mother and handed her Azura. Although It was kinda hard for Luz to let her go, she never wanted to put her down.
Camila held her granddaughter and almost burst into tears but held it off, Eda was standing next to her looking at her surrogate granddaughter with a smile.
"Would you like to hold her Eda?" Camila asked after holding the baby for about 5 minutes.
Eda shook her head, "N-No! I don't want to risk hurting her."
Camila turned to the Blight twins. "Edric, Emira, how about you?"
Emira nodded and went to hold her niece. She held the baby and lightly booped her nose. "Hey Azura, I'm your cool aunt Emira! That's your dorky uncle Edric."
"Wow," Edric said flatly, "Thanks for that."
After holding her for a bit Emira handed her back to Amity. Amity placed her daughter on her chest and she quickly fell asleep. Even Amity's eyes were getting heavy.
"I'm so proud of both of you!" Camila said, placing her hand on each of the new mom's shoulders, "You both are going to be great mothers."
"We love you, mama." Amity said to her mother-in-law. Speaking for both her and Luz.
"I love you too Mija!" Camila said, kissing both girls' foreheads.
"Alright let's let Boots sleep. Poor kiddo needs some rest." Eda said as she guided them all out of the room.
Amity let out a huge yawn and placed a light kiss on her daughter's head. "She's perfect."
Luz kissed Amity on her cheek, "She gets that from you."
"I love you Batata."
"I love you sweet potato," Luz replied to her wife before turning her attention to their newborn, "And I love you Mija." She then kissed her daughter's head.
Amity quickly fell asleep and Luz looked on at her family.
