Geonouvelle was a thriving town that kept growing every month. With magic and cooperation, the small town grew into a flourishing city in less than a year. Living creatures form various races come to make trades, look for jobs, or even to find residence within the area. It’s all thanks to the cooperation of the of the rulers of the city, The Exiles of the Forgotten Kingdom. Azure Bovine and Street Souris, the hero formally known as Street Rat; their ruling stile by interacting with their people gave them the title of the fairest city of the land.
Everyone there was happy, they were living in peace; and that’s when the sound of a roar broke that peace.
A giant dragon, who spew storms of lighting and rain landed in front of the town, scaring the citizens, and alerting the guards, Captain Kagami Anciel and Queen Azure Bovine leading the defense.
“State your business or face our blade!” The Captain pointed the dragon with her sword.
“Do you think an army can best me? The last army who did lost their lives along with their kingdom.” The dragon lowered her head to see the Queen and Captain. “I’m here to make a deal.”
“Okay.” The Queen said to the mighty reptile. “What are your demands?”
“A sacrifice.”
“Like hell you will!” Kagami attempted to thrust her weapon into the invader’s skull, only to hit a mist of air.
“Allow me to retort your violence with a story.” The mist spoke and reformed into a solid dragon once again. “There once a kingdom that had done me wrong, insulted me and humiliated me. In response, I rallied bandits and thugs and brought that castle to the ground.”
“… The Bourgeois Kingdom…” Azure Bovine answered with fear.
“That exact one. Truth be told, I have no ill will for those who left the kingdom with you and your “hubby”, the ones that stayed there were greedy, snotty, and willing to do anything to gain power and maintain it.” The dragon’s eyes sharpen like daggers. “it’s just that someone of that group escaped that was meant to die, and now it’s taking residence in your comfy town. Bring them to me, or else I’ll have no choice but to destroy your town and make sure they’re dead. You have two days.”
With that warning, the dragon flew away to the mountains, shacking the guardsmen and citizens to the core.
“We can’t leave the town we worked so hard to build from the ground up. Did the Bourgeois Kingdom really deserved what happened because of that sole survivor? Was Gabriel’s revenant is walking amongst us? Who is that sole survivor that cheated death?” The citizens were murmuring question after question about the situation at hand.
Azure Bovine was worried that her citizens would gather and form a witch hunt, so she took the role of investigation on her hands, with the royal captain as her constable. The citizens were relieved that their dragon problem would be solved easily with their Queen’s keen eye, but what they don’t know is that the person who “escaped death” was already preparing to leave to the mountains and accept their fate.
That night, two citizens left the city without any warning and the search party was made led by the captain herself.
