Ghostly White

Summary:

Gon just transferred to a new school and he is very excited to be there. The school even has a forest surrounding it! Though once he hot there he was told the gruesome truth about the past of his new school. He was even told the place was haunted! But one of his dorm mates told him that people only said that to scare him. So he didn’t think much of the rumor. Though he started believing the rumor one day after exploring the forest surrounding the school.

Notes:

Hi! I got this idea from Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun. I’m sorry for any spelling mistakes or wrong grammar, I’m writing this on my phone.

Chapter 1: The Arrival

Chapter Text

Gon stepped out of the car that had escorted him to the school with an excited expression on his face. It was very fancy and black with tinted windows. He stared at the very large school building in awe. He had never seen anything like it. It was brick and had multiple stories, at least 6! Gon didn't understand why they needed that much space for a school. His old school on Whale Island only had three rooms and he learned a lot of stuff there.

“Hello there!” Gon jumps a bit at the voice and looks over. To the right of him stands a man who is wearing a nicely tailored suit and some fancy black shoes. He has purple hair and a mustache and his mouth is barely visible from under his mustache. Gon thinks He looks fancy.

Gon looks at him with a big smile. “Hi!” The man's eyes crinkle signaling that he is smiling. “Are you Gon Freecs?” He asks. Gon likes how elegant his voice is.

“Yep! That's me!” He points to himself. The man smiles and places a hand against his chest. “Well, it's lovely to meet you Gon. My name is Satoz, but please call me Mr. Satoz. I’m one of the teachers at this school and I will be showing you around the school and to your dorm. If you will follow me.” The man turns toward the school and starts walking toward it robotically.

Gon quickly runs up to catch up with the man. “What about my luggage?” Gon asks as he catches up to Mr. Satoz. Satoz turns to him with his eyes closed and crinkled in a smile. “Do not worry, your luggage is being brought to your dorm as we speak,” Satoz reassures. “Now shall we continue?” Gon nods and looks ahead toward the large school building.

Satoz shows him around the school building, he makes sure not to miss a single classroom. All the classrooms are very fancy and large. Gon notes that even the supply closets are bigger than his room at home. Satoz talks about the many clubs the school has to offer as well as the sports. Gon can’t help but feel excited when listening to the numerous sports. He also likes the sound of the nature club.

After a bit, Satoz stops in front of a door and looks at Gon with a very serious expression. “This door leads to the school basement. No one, and I mean NO ONE is allowed down there. Not even teachers. If you are caught trying to go down there, there will be harsh consequences. Do you understand?” Gon looks at the door curiously but nods anyway.

“Good. Now let's go get you settled into your dorm.” Gon gives the door one last glance before following Satoz out of the school.

The dorm building is very large as well, but smaller than the actual school building. They walk in and are greeted by another man who is typing on a computer. Satoz walks up to the front desk and clears his throat. The man looks up, his face looks very professional and serious. Gon notices that he is also wearing a fancy suit. His black hair is done neatly and he wears a pair of black glasses.

“Satoz,” He nods to the purple-haired man and then looks toward Gon. “This must be the new student. Gon, was it?” Gon nods and smiles at the serious man. “Yep! That's me!” The man nods and looks at his computer again, typing something on it. He then opens a drawer and pulls out a key and hands it to Gon. Gon takes it and holds it in front of his face curiously. It looks old and timely, like a skeleton key. “Don’t lose that it's the only one you get. Your dorm number is 405. It's on the third floor.” Gon nods and smiles brightly at the man. “Thank you!” He says as he waves goodbye to him as he walks towards his dorm.

Gon excitedly unlocks the door and walks in. He looks around. The room is very large. There are three beds in it. He guesses that the ones with stuff already on them are his roommate's beds. He goes towards his bed where his luggage is already resting. He starts to unpack his luggage. He puts the quilt his Aunt Mito made him over the sheets that were already on the bed. he unpacks some other little trinkets that he brought with him from Whale Island. Along with a bed he also has a bookcase, a wardrobe, and a nightstand. While Gon was unpacking he couldn't help but feel a bit homesick. He tried to shake off the feeling so he could finish unpacking his stuff.

After he had finished unpacking pretty much everything he got startled by the sound of a door slamming open. “I’m just saying Kurapika that oranges are definitely better than apples.” A tall man says to a shorter boy with blonde hair. “Leorio this argument is completely pointless… Because apples are obviously better.” The blonde, Kurapika, says to the man, Leorio.

Leorio was about to say something back but then he noticed Gon. “Huh? Oh wait, are you our new roommate?” Leorio asks. “Yea I am! I’m Gon.” Gon introduces himself. “Nice to meet you Gon. My names Leorio.” The tall man says and then points to the blonde next to him. “And this guy is Kurapika.” Kurapika nods towards Gon. “Nice to meet you.” Kurapika says to Gon. Gon nods, “Likewise.”

“So… Have you been shown around yet?” Leorio asks looking at Gon with a curious expression. “Yep! Mr. Satoz showed me around.” Gon answers.

“I see…” Leorio was about to say another thing before Kurapika interrupted him. “What grade are you in?” He asks, Leorio sends him a dirty look for interrupting him. “I’m a first year… I think. I’m 14, if that helps.” Leorio raises an eyebrow and stops glaring at Kurapika. “Really? I thought you looked young but they don’t typically put first years in dorms with 3rd years. They occasionally put them with second years but not third years...” Leorio says sounding confused. “Our form was probably one of the only dorms with an extra spot. So they put him in here.” Kurapika theorizes.

“Hmm… Well since you’re a first year you probably haven’t heard the schools past yet…” Leorio smirks, he has a mischievous glint in his eyes. Kurapika shakes his head and sighs before going over to his bed. “Past?” Gon asks, curiously.

“Yep. Past. This school wasn’t always a school. It used to be owned by a huge family of assassins. 100s of people have died here. It rumored that the reason we’re not allowed in the basement is because there’s still dead bodies down there.” Leorio still has that same mischievous smirk. Gon lets out a surprised gasp. He didn’t expect that.

“And apparently one of the assassins who lived here haunts the forest behind the school. So no one ever goes in there and if they do they come out screaming.” Leorio adds, obviously trying to scare Gon. Kurapika sighs and glares at Leorio. “Leorio stop trying to scare the freshman. Don’t worry Gon thats not true. Its just a rumor.” Kurapika gives Gon a reassuring look. Gon smiles and nods, happy its just a rumor and probably isn’t true.

“You just had to ruin my fun…” Leorio pouts. He then walks over to his bed and flops down and lets out a loud sigh. Kurapika shakes his head in disapproval before going back to reading a book he grabbed. His bookcase is covered in tons of books and Leorio’s also has quite a bit of books.

“Hey kid, tomorrow’s your first day so I would get some rest cause its gonna be tiring.” He let out a chuckle before rolling over onto his side and letting out a loud and obnoxious fake snore. Kurapika groans in annoyance and throws a pillow at him. “Maybe don’t snore and he might be able to get some rest.” Kurapika said glaring at Leorio. Leorio glared back before throwing the pillow back. Gon nervously laugh’s wondering if they’re friends or enemies before getting into his bed and turning off his lamp. Not long later Leorio and Kurapika turn of their lamps as well. Gon twists and turns for a bit before falling asleep, feeling a bit homesick.

The next day was very hectic. Gon could barely navigate around the school to find his classes and showed up late to almost all of them. Thankfully he didn’t get in trouble since its his first day. Though he did get in trouble for falling asleep in his math class. His teacher, Mr. Wing bopped him on the head with a rolled up news paper to wake him up. Gon was very happy when it was finally lunch. he grabbed some food from the cafeteria before deciding to eat in the forest.

He walked through it happily. He loved nature so he couldn’t help but stop and look at all the pretty plants and bugs and animals. He found a very nice willow tree in the middle of the forest right next to a nice little pond. The tree was strong and large and had obviously been there a very long time. The pond was clean and a very clear blue color that Gon though was beautiful. He sat down under the tree and stared out at the pond while eating.

“Hey, y’know that’s rude, right?”

Gon jumped and looked around, not able to spot who said that. Gon let out a confused sound. But all his confusion went away when he looked to his left. He was eye to eye with a boy who was hanging upside down on a tree branch. He was ghostly pale and his hair was snow white. Though his eyes were probably the thing that caught Gon’s attention the most. They were blue. But not just any blue. They were bluer than the sky or the pond. Gon was entranced. The boy cocked an eyebrow up before jumping down off the tree.

“What did you not hear me? Thats rude.” The boy pointed to the ground. Gon gave him a confused look before looking down. Was his uniform on wrong or something? “What do you mean?” Gon asks in confusion.

The boy sighs and shakes his head as if annoyed at Gons ignorance. “Its rude to sit on someone’s grave.” The boy says as if it was the most obvious thing ever. Gon just feels even more confused. He looks down towards the ground with his eyebrows knitted together. “This doesn’t look like a grave. How do you know someone was buried here?”

The boy crosses his arms. “Because its my grave.” He says in annoyance.

Gon’s eyes go wide and his mouth hangs open in shock. “What?!” Gon says as he stares at the boy. as he gets closer he notices that he is translucent making him feel more shocked. He quickly stands up and moves away from the ground he was sitting on while staring at it.

The boy laughs. Gon looks over at him his eyes still wide. “Are you messing with me?” Gon asks. The boy laughs again. “Nope.” He has a cheeky smirk on his face.

“To make up for sitting on my grave you could help me for something.” He says his eye’s shimmering. Gon gives him a confused look. “What do you need help with?” The blue eyed boy takes a step back before turning. “Follow me.” So Gon follows.

The boy leads him through the forest for a bit. They stop in front of a fenced in area. He just walks through the gate which makes Gon gasp. The boy gestures for him to follow so Gon climbs the fence and jumps down to the other side.

Gon looks around and notices a bunch of graves. A grave yard? “I thought you were buried under that tree. “I am,” The boy walks through the aisles of graves. Gon follows reading some ofe the graves as they walk. ‘Maha Zoldyck’ one says. ‘Zeno Zoldyck’ another one reads. Gons nose crinkles in confusion.

“I was buried under that tree but my actual head stone is here.” The boy stops in front of a head stone smiling down at it. Gon stands next to him and looks at the grave. Its a whitish blue stone color and has a big blue gem right above the name which reads ‘Killua Zoldyck’. Gon tilts his head and then looks over at the white haired boy. “Is that your name?” Gon asks pointing towards the grave. “Yep.” The boy- Killua says.

They both stare at the grave for a couple more seconds before Hon looks over at him. “So… What did you need help with? Please don’t tell me you want me to move your body over here…” Gon gets a disgusted look on his face at the thought.

The boy laughs. “What? No. You wouldn’t be able to anyway my bodies all mangled in the tree roots. I want something different.” He leans a bit closer to Gon making him unconsciously step back.

“I want you to crack my head stone. Or smash it. Which ever is easier.” Gon gives him a shocked look. “No way! Your asking me to destroy someone’s grave? thats crazy. Besides this could all just be some sick prank to get me in trouble.”

Killua pouts and crosses his arms. “Fine. I’ll prove that I’m actually ghost… Even though I thought walking through metal bars would be enough…” Killua lifts his hand up and sticks it straight through Gon’s head. Gon shivers at the feeling then gasps and falls back onto his butt in shock.

Killua laughs at him before crossing his arms again. “Now will you do what I said?” Gon nods and stands up shakily, kinda freaked out. He looks around before grabbing a rusted metal pole that probably fell off of the fence. He bites his lips as he looks at the grave before lifting the pole above his head and smashing it down on the grave. He hits it a total of 14 times before it starts to crumble. The small gem falls out but Gon doesn’t notice as he brings the pole up to hit the grave again.

But suddenly he feels very dizzy. He drops the pole before falling to the ground out cold.

Notes:

I’m sorry if Gon is OOC!
