Chapter Text
The rest of the day went by without much issue since Izuku had stayed in the teachers lounge or Nedzu’s office, that is until it was time for bed. That’s what Izuku dreaded, the whole deal about staying in the dorms with the rest of the class. Who up to now, he’d avoided as much as possible. Especially Katsuki.
Izuku was dragged along with Aizawa, who seemed a little less annoyed at him from their interaction earlier. Though it still felt off, truly this man was more of a stranger with how differently he acted towards him.
“You’ll be staying next to Bakugo on the fourth floor, there's a small bed set up with blankets and some clothes we managed to get you for tonight.” Aizawa turned around, stopping in front of the common room door, “and no going out at night, am I clear?”
Izuku gulped, “Yes sir.” before Aizawa opened the door behind him and let Izuku inside, following behind him. While some of the other students paused what they were doing and made their way around him and Aizawa.
“Listen up, Koko here is going to be staying in the dorms as well. I ask you all to show him around and let him know where he’ll stay for now.” Aizawa spoke up, making sure everyone listened before turning and leaving, leaving Izuku to the wolves.
Before he could overthink what he should say, he was brought to the attention of…his other self who made his way over. Almost the same look, though Izuku was much more on the lean side than the other.
“...I have so many questions, but um, can I ask you what your quirk is?” Midoriya asked, pulling out his notebook from out of nowhere, a habit that Izuku shared as well. The others seemed to chuckle at the question, ‘ It must happen frequently then?’ he thought before he realized that he hadn’t answered yet.
“O-Oh right! Um, well I have telekinesis, kind of like mom does. Just a stronger version of it?” Izuku scratched the back of his head, was this what it was like on the receiving end of his questions? He thought as he saw the other scribble down notes, and he could also see a small drawing next to the information.
“What about applying to UA? Did you do it?” Midoriya asked, rambling on about the differences and possibilities since Izuku had a quirk that was way different than the other. Muttering and muttering before he was slapped on the back to stop from continuing, from… Bakugo.
‘ Oh boy…’
“Well uh, I didn’t apply, I’m actually a Vigilante..” Izuku wasn’t sure if that was the right call but it was better to get it out of the way now than never.
That made everyone around him tense.
“A Vigilante? But you could’ve been accepted into UA with your quirk.” Midoriya said as he looked…dissapointed? Izuku couldn’t really tell, why would he be disappointed?
“Because the system’s not exactly perfect, and I’m working with the police. I’m practically certified already.” Izuku crossed his arms, raising a brow while looking back at Midoriya. “I work with Aizawa most patrols.”
“No way– really??” The yellow-haired kid with a black thunderbolt in his hair exclaimed, “No way..is this version of Midoriya a rebel?” he continued before he was stuck on the side by a purple-haired girl before she hushed him.
Izuku felt uncomfortable, he just wanted to get to his room at this point. So while some of the others discussed in awe of the new information, he slipped away, using his telekinesis to float away out of their eye shot. Leaving him alone as he walked up the stairs.
But he knew one person would notice his absence quicker than the others, Katsuki. Who followed behind him but never spoke until Izuku reached the stairs, making him freeze.
“Oi.”
“What do you want?” Izuku turned around, hands clenched, yet still shaky.
“...Why aren’t you a hero, huh? It’s not like anything was holding you back.” Bakugo seemed a little shaken.
“The system. I guess, I mean there's way more than that but…” Izuku sighed, “I mean I doubt you guys haven’t witnessed any horrors during your time in UA, right? I mean you have to have noticed how…Naive this all is.”
“Naive? ” that seemed to piss this guy off..
“No disrespect but all UA is doing is training child soldiers or stuck up assholes.” Izuku rubbed his chin, “But I know not everyone turns out that way.. I mean Hitoshi’s in UA..and Mei..you..” he shook his head,
“Whatever! What I mean is that I want to help people now, I don’t want to wait to go through a school’s version of the military while I know I could just go out and do it.” Izuku cleared his throat,
“If you want to save people, what's stopping you? I sure as hell didn’t.”
The whole answer confused Bakugo, and Izuku had a feeling it would confuse the rest of the class too. They were still figuring out how the world wasn’t all black and white, that there were grays between what made a hero and villain..and most importantly, a human.
“You're so weird.” Bakugo scoffed, turning around back towards the common area.
“Be so for real bro.” Izuku rolled his eyes, “Whatever, nighty night twin.” He turned back towards the stairs and headed up to the fourth floor. Hoping to take a shower and head to bed.
Meanwhile in the common room…
“The vigilante version of you’s a weirdo.” Bakugo told Midoriya, appearing from behind him while Midoriya had been talking with Uraraka and Iida, spooking all three of them in the process.
“What makes you say that?” Midoriya raised an eyebrow
“Aren’t you good at rambling? Ask that lunatic.” Bakugo said before walking away towards the kitchen, where a few others were.
Leaving the three by themselves, pondering what Bakugo had said, and more importantly…striking Midoriya's interest to learn more.
