Chapter Text

"The curse cannot be broken"

Cale remembered God of Death words as he stared at the slowly growing cemetery before him.

- -- - -- - -- - -- -

"Even if the one who is receiving the curse is Barrow, the second you became a collateral, when the curse brushed and latched onto your soul, when it made it's first victim, there was nothing I could do."

Cale remenbered this line as he observed the first of his children being buried, Hong fortunaly died without pain.

Cale threatened the GoD to give his family all painless deaths.

-- - -- - -- - -- - --

"You will see everyone you love die, there's no reason to try to stop loving them now, as the moment you loved them and they loved you back their fates were already sealed"

As the last of his children was buried, no having been even a week since the last burial, Cale remembered this line, and how heartless the gods really could be sometimes.

- -- - -- - -- - -- -
"Whe a god gives a curse, it is forever, so this curse will be with you forever, even if your soul is completely destroyed the curse cannot be stopped"

Almost everyone from his family were dead now, the last ones alive were Eruhaben, Alberu and Choi Han.

But Alberu was already almost in his deathbed. And he, with the empire's people approval, will be coronated the next emperor once Alberu dies.

Cale couldn't even refuse him anymore without breaking down. So he acepted Alberus request with a small reassuring smile as he felt the bitter taste on his mouth.

-- - -- - -- - -- - --
"Because of the curse, once you die this time, you will not be allowed to go to the Eden with your family but instead will have your soul destroyed small piece by small piece slowly."

Cale Henituse wanted to ignore GoD words and die, but he knew it wouldn't do anything to stop the curse, and now he could not die because he promised to take care of his hyung's empire and he would not break it.

He tried not to think of the blond who had been buried just this morning besides Cale's children graves.

Instead he focused on observing the sleeping Choi Han's shallow breathing. He knew that Choi Han would not survive the night...He promised the single lifer that he would be there for him in last moments.

So Cale stayed awake all night until half an hour before dawn, when Choi Han took his last breath and Cale stood from the chair besides the bed and carefully took the still barm body and made his way towards the graveyard.

He personally buried Choi Han as he did last morning with Alberu.

- -- - -- - -- - -- - -- -
"The only way to 'slow' the Curse is by one specific other curse, but even so it doesn't stop the curse permanently, it would only slow down the Curse as the other one specifically binds one's soul partially."

It has been three weeks since Cale Henituse was coronated emperor of Roan Empire and a month since Choi Han and Alberu Crossman's burial.

Since his two beloved deaths Cale would go sleep while tightly hugging Eruhaben every night, without fail.

Eruhaben was the last one. His most beloved, his father figure. And that night was no different.

-- - -- - -- - -- - --
"But I'll not allow you to use such curse, as this is a fragile curse it cannot be used for such personal reasons such as stopping other curse."

It's been a month and a half since his coronation, and now Eruhaben was finally slowing signals of his imminent desmise.

As his father inevitable end neared, Cale ignored the small building up dread of what would be of his mentality with the last of his family death.

Instead he focused on trying to think what would be the consequences of his last deal with GoD. He knew that as much as Cale threatened the god for a peaceful death to his family, GoD had allowed since he wanted something from Cale.

And from conceding Cale side of the 'deal', Cale would have to complete his side without being allowed to refuse. Cale just wished to know beforehand what the sly god was planning...

- -- - -- - -- - -- - -- -
"But do not confuse something about this curse, it is not the one's you love the most that die first, they are the last ones. This curse was made for the bearer suffer, for him to suffer with the dread that his most beloved would be the last and the most painfull one"

<span;>Eruhaben was dead. His health wasn't that bad as all the others had been before their deaths.

So when Cale woke up to the cold feeling of his father's body he could not understand for a long time, just sitting there staring at the dead body of his father in despair.

But it was then that the last words of GoD came into his mind and realization came to him.

This curse was made for it's bearer to suffer, so as such it would not allow Cale to pass time with his most beloved as the other slowly died as it did to others.

No the curse only warning was a small decrease of health before the other sudenly died overnight.

-- - -- - -- - -- - --
That night, after the last of their Emperor beloved family was buried by the Emperor himself, everyone in the castle could hear the despaired cries of their beloved ruler.

They wanted so much to just run there and confort him, tell him he was not alone. But it would just worsen his situation as he would fear that such kind gestures would make them one of his beloved too, and he would acidentally end up killing another person again.

So they blocked their hearts too, the loved but don't loved their Emperor.

Yes the emperor was beloved by all of them, but they forced themselves to not let him be their beloved too.

The people of the entire world that night blocked their hearts in hope that Cale Henituse did not need to fear loving others, so that Cale could love without fear because they would not open their hearts to him no matter how much they wanted to.

-- - -- - -- - -- - --
It was finally the day were death came to take his side of the deal. And how surprised Cale was when he was cursed by the god.

He was cursed into immortality, as neither GoD nor the other gods wanted his soul to be destroyed.

So, with the help and permission of the other gods Cale was cursed into immortality.

From the outside he just seemed mildly surprised.

Internally, however, he wanted to scream and cry.

Cale did not want to live forever.

He just wanted to leave in peace.

He just wanted to rest.

Cale wondered if instead of being 'loved by gods' he was instead hated by them.

Wasn't it enough that he was cursed once, but now it is twice!?

What he did to deserve this?

He would see everyone he knows slowly die and dissappear from history.

In the day he announced publicly about the curse of immortality. There was cheers, because their hero would not die and lead them forever.

But almost all of them at the same time pitied him, because they understood how lonely he would be with these two curses.

So, the grandchildren of kings and emperors who heard the history behind the immortal emperor decided to join forces.

They understood how tired Cale Henituse, the hero and the emperor must have been.

So with an nod of agreement and with the agreement of their own citizens all these kingdoms and empire's joined in one big Empire.

The name of the empire was called Henituse in homage for the tired emperor.

All the ex-kings and emperors formed a council instead of one rulling over all.

But the Roan Empire did not join them nor did they really called their Empire an Empire.

The citizens had voted in calling them a country instead. While the only existing Empire stayed as Roan.

Yes they agreed, the only place deserving to be called an Empire and the only one deserving to be called an Emperor were the Roan Empire and Cale Henituse.

The Henituse Country instead served as a cocoon who protected the Empire, and managed half of the Empire paperwork(the unimportant ones) so that Cale could rest more and even take small vacations

Chapter Text

Cale Henituse was know for being Immortal, well...Not exactly...

You see, Immortality was never dying, it meant that whatever tried to kill him would never suceed, and his body would imediatally recover from whichever damage it received.

So Cale couldn't exactly say he was Immortal, he just couldn't stay dead per se.

As the long of the years he was the 'eternal emperor' various assassination attempts occurred.

Some succeeded, and as an result he died, his mind staying in the limbo for what were hours there when it was less than a minute outside.

And the injuries never healed imediatally. So sometimes he kept dying and reviving while Vitality of the Heart furiously worked to heal him.

So in fact he wasn't exactly Immortal, he was only banned from the realm of the dead.

After all Immortality could be considered a blessing. And what he received from God of Death was not a blessing but a curse.

As the decades passed Cale observed the changes slowly start to occur.

The citizens no matter how much they loved their emperor wanted freedom.

They wanted to be able to assume higher political positions and to be able to lead their own nations.

They started to revolt and divide themselves and steal territory to form their own countrys.

Cale let them do as they please as long a they didn't kill anyone nor stole property innocent people owned. It was his only rules in exchange for their freedom.

In case they did it Cale commanded once again. He them would heartlessly kill anyone involved in the rule breaking.

Sometimes he would kill the entire political side of a new country. Other times just a few people.

And then people started to understand. And they started to respect the rules he imposed.

After a century, there a large quantity of new nations and countries. And along the century Cale Henituse and the Roan Empire helped these countries to achieve stability.

But Cale noticed how even his own citizens wanted to part, to go live and create their own land, so he made a decision.

After scheduling the transmission he just had to wait until new year came.

At new year of year XXX, at six in the afternoon, all around the world an transmission started from the Emperial Palace.

"Dear Citizens, as many of you know I am Cale Henituse, emperor of the Roan Empire and ex-commander of the United Kingdom Alliance. As the history books say, I've been rulling over this Empire for over a Century now, but I wish to retire."

Surprised gasps, jaws dropped, confused exclamations all resounded around the world. 'The Eternal Emperor is retiring!?'

"In the past years I've seen my citizens wishes to go and make their own land too. So I have made a decision. In fifty years the Roan Empire will be ended and were it used to be will be the free land for new countries, new traditions, new costumes. It will be a place of creation, for a restart."

And then the transmission ended.

And chaos ensued around the world for four months before calming down.

'Roan was the pilar of the world, if Roan was gone what would be their Pilar then?'

That question generated various discussions for almost an entire year before a solution was found, In the small country of Romanna it was proposed they exchanged the new Pilar not to a country but a person.

Not any person, but The person, the Immortal was perfect for being a Pilar of the world, he would never die, forever there with them. It was perfect.

Half a millenia passed and were used to be Roan now was two different countries, Dhittaly and Frenca.

And oh how Cale felt horror when he discovered Dhittaly had build a 20 feet tall golden statue of him on his Commander uniform with his crown on his head.

At November 8th the sky turned red and rose-gold lightning descended on the statue of their beloved emperor.

Dhittaly's citizens laughed as they know it would happen, they remember the history from their ancestors of how the emperor despised anything that retreated him as an hero.

They left the half melted statue on the plaza of their capital. The ruler then sugered something that made most of them grin mischievously.

Why not put a sign on the estatue that said:

'Statue of the Eternal Emperor Cale Henituse who ruled Roan, striked down by himself with gold-rose lightning on 8th of November of 743'

And from then on the rumor that the emperor was a god started to spread wildly, more like a joke than anything else, the joke was lost along time and the next generations started to really belive he was a god.

It was in year 829 that Cale noticed things starting to go south.

In the past century he noticed how the magic started to get drained.

And in consequence, the magical beings such as dragons were starting to die.

There were no more dragon eggs, the elves were struggling a lot to even get pregnant. The whales and mermaid together now consisted in only a few dozens of beings.

Basically all magical beings were dying.

Cale could guess that when society could be considered 'modern' there wouldn't have any magical being left.

It pained Cale's heart to know that, so he went to the world's tree he discovered that said tree had been discussing with gods about this problem.

The solution wasn't something Cale liked much. As it wouldn't stop the extinction of the magical beings, only slow down the problem and preventing the magic from completly disappearing.

The solution they found was to transform magic into a weaker source of energy, one that all living beings body could nurture and grow on their own with their will.

That way they would not consume so much external power as they do with magic.

It was a good solution, but what made Cale grimace bitterly was the method of aplying it.

The gods nor the world tree could directly interact with the world in such large scale.

So they needed a mediator to do it for them. And Cale was chosen to be their mediator. And he had no choice in the matter.

So when he left Cale started to wander.

Village to village

City to city

Country  to country.

He visited all places in the world that had any trace of living beings.

He would stop at the center of the place, in the middle of a full moon night, he would crouch down in a position of prayer and start to spread the new energy to all living beings around him in a few miles.

He would stay in that position for a few ours, making sure that the magic was replaced with the energy totally for every single being.

After making sure everything was done and there was no complications he would get up and continue on his way to the next city, were he would stay until the next full moon.

The process took him almost a century until he was finished.

After that he decided to wander for some time, having nowhere to go or be.

It was year 999 and chaos was happening.

Aparently people thought it was the end of the world and they were going crazy.

Mass bunker constructions, war for supplies and strategical territories, revolutions, wars and more wars. It was Chaos.

So to Cale desmise the gods contacted him and begged for his help. Aparently people thought he was some kind of god and would listen to him.

He didn't want to, but there was so many people dying every day, and Cale couldn't be that selfish to let them suffer because he didn't want to be viewed as a God.

So that day, the world stopped as they heard a voice. The voice explained things and reassured them, told them to stop fighting each other because the world would not end.

They should be suspicious of the strange melodious voice, but as the voice introduced itself as Cale Henituse, no one who knew the tales of the Immortal could do it.

It only served as a reassurance that these tales were very much real.

That day was marked as the rebirth of the world they decided to make a holiday for their God, they nomeated it Christmas.

And oh how disappointed they would be if they discovered that with time the meaning of the holiday changed from celebrating the rebirth of the world by their Gods words. To a birth of a son of a God that was supposed to be the absolute one and wich didn't even exist.

Cale was wandering through the dense forests again, he didn't know how much time has passed but he suposed it was a long time since the white robes given to by a village lady were now torn and somewhat dirty.

He hear a crashing sound and decided to check on that, see if no one was hurt.

There he saw a strange structure that was similar to the alien spaceships on the movies he saw when he was still Kim Rok Soo.

From there he saw creatures wich were extremely similar to humans, but he knew better, principally because of the energy that was similar to Jewels(the popular name given to this world new magic), but still different, stronger than most of the Jewels here.

The earthlings landed roughly on the planet next to theirs, they expected to meet immediate hostility when they left the spaceship, oh how surprised they were when they met with an ethereal being observing them from the treeline of the clearing their landing created.

Sepira and Kawahira, the leaders of the survivors of their species looked at eachother. They knew a powerful or godly being when they saw one. And the redhead observing them was both.

They aproached the being caution, the others following behind silently.

Sepira made a bowing position with a hand on her heart as a greeting, wich the being seemed to understand, giving a nod in return.

Kawahira would have scowled at the being rudeness had he not knew the situation.

They were week from the jorney and rough landing, they were invasors in what probaly was being's territory, the being was stronger than all of them united.

Sepira stepped forward with an cautious smile.

"Greetings, we are Earthlings from the neighbor planet, our planed self-destructed and we ended up running away here. We are sorry if we landed on your territory, but I am pleading that you could shelter us until we are strong enought to construct a place of our own."

The being stared at them, with an impassive face and the more time the being stayed silent the more he could feel himself and the others getting anxious.

The being then gave a step back and put a hand against a tree and closed it's eyes. They could feel so clearly the ancient energy flowing through the tree and going down to the center of the planed before going back up stronger and brushing against their Flames, analyzing them.

They froze in place, they knew that if the being deemed him a threat they wouldn't even be able to escape.

The energy retreated back to the being before he opened his eyes and noded to them, making a head signal to follow.

They obeyed, and the being leaded them deeper into the forest until they were leaded into a underground villa.

It was an amazing place, and now they understood that the forest wasn't the beings territory, but the underground Vila was.

"Welcome to the Super Rock Villa. The graveyard and third floor are of limits. Otherwise feel free to go anywhere."

The being said in the Earthlings mother language, although very acented it still startled the shit out of them.

But, at the same time, it just proved the being was godly and powerful. How else could it learn how to talk in their mother language so fast?

Notes:

So in this chapter:

We discovered more about Cale's Immortality

Chapter Text

It has been a week since Cale hosted the Earthlings group on his villa...He didn't know what to think of them...

At the last these beings hadn't caused any trouble to him.

But he saw the way they looked the new magic of his world, they feared it, they wanted it for themselves.

He knew that some of them were plotting something behind his back, he wasn't sure yet, but he knew it has something to do with the strange multicolored crystals they brought out from their spaceship last night.

Cale didn't want to judge them immediately, he was scum but that type of scum.

But these... otherworlders. They were just giving more and more reasons to want them out of his house every day.

And when Kawahira suddenly grabbed his hand while he was dozing off just to make him touch the suspicious cristal he knew things were about to go downhill very fast.

Cale Henituse knew from the start that Kawahira was very cunning and smart, Cale dares say that he was maybe even as smart as his Hyung.

But Cale's problem with Kawahira was his bad hidden greed.

He wanted things that should not be his, such as the magic of this world. And Kawahira wanted to play god among mortals, a stupid thing to want to do if you ask Cale.

So when Kawahira made Cale's hand touch the stone and he felt immense pain jolt through his entire body, Cale knew this was the moment Kawahira was waiting for.

He was trying to fuse Cale's magic with the magic from their world.

But what Kawahira didn't seem to understand was that Cale was the beacon of the magic of the entire planet and that a simple jewel would not be able to withstand all his power.

And the two clashing forces would be the end of this world too because of him.

So with effort Cale separated the two clashing forces from each other again and with caution he started to separate the energy from the crystal in seven different forces. Once it was separated Cale carefully started to reintroduce his magic into the now seven pieces of crystal.

Once he was done the slowly got up on unsteady legs and glared at the bewildered Kawahira. "I managed to fuse the two energies together without destroying this world as you almost did. But be aware that what you did will have disastrous consequences both for you and the world."

And before retiring to his room to rest he put Kawahira under his Dominating Aura for an entire minute before saying. "I will retire to rest, once I wake up I will have Sepira reunite your entire species before I punish you for your insolence"

With that he left for his quarters, ignoring the terrified man slumped on the floor while crying.

After his well deserved nap that took an entire day Cale called Sepira to his office and told her what exactly Kawahira almost did, then he ordered her to reunite all of her subjects.

To say she was furious an understatement, she left his office fuming in wrath and when Cale arrived at the training grounds Kawahira was full of bruises and kneeling on the ground before her.

"Is Everyone here?" He leisurely asked as he observed Kawahira freezing in place completely while the others tensed slightly.

"Yes sir." Sepira nodded.

"Very well. Kawahira, come here and kneel" Cale ordered and Kawahira obeyed. Not wanting to be under the pressure of the God again.

"Do you understand why you are being punished?" Cale didn't let him answer as he continued. "Your recklessness and greed almost killed everyone here and the entire planet, My home. Had I not know what I should do to prevent that The planet would have imploded and killed every mortal residing in it."

Kawahira was sweating profusely as he stared at the ground, that word 'mortal' just confirmed everything for him. Cale Henituse was a god. And almost destroyed the territory of a god.

Would he even survive the punishment that was prepared for him?

"So for your insolence you will be punished. I will pierce and soak you with my sharpest water spears. Heal your wounds, then strike you with a lightning bolt just strong enough not to kill you, then I'll heal you again. Then I will pierce all your joints with earth spikes and without healing you I will burn you, just after your face melted and you are barely alive I will heal you again. And I will repeat the process until I am sure you and any of your future reincarnation will never forget the lesson I am teaching you today. Understood?"

Kawahira was trembling like a leaf and considered running away, but just before he could bolt away the first water spear hit him.

That day was the worst of all and Kawahira's personal hell. He promised himself to never anger the god ever again.

•••

There was an old legend...

A legend from the times where empires and kingdoms still stood high.

A legend about someone so powerful and with so much destructive power that he was considered the incarnation of the god of destruction.

It was a legend known all round the world, in which every religion had their own version on this tale, but even so they all still lead to the same being.

The Japanese version was said to be the most accurate version of this tale, and maybe why They ended up interested in it.

§+

There was a time.
A time when the royalty still ruled over all.

At such time that He was born.

He was a cunning being from birth, having deceived all around him to believe he was nothing but trash.

But oh, the being was no fool, no he fully understood the power and value he had within his body.

He knew things that no normal being should be able to know.

But he was never normal to start with.

He sensed the war and blood that was yet to come in the near future, so he carefully planned.

And with a plan in mind he started molding his Chess Board.

Firstly he had to reunite allies.

Allies that would never work together in any other circumstances, but with him in the lead, all of them followed and formed the most powerful army.

He managed to force the hidden enemies and even if they were allied to a sealed god he effortlessly managed to lure them out and corner them.

And once they were cornered it was a checkmate.

He killed the puppet with just one well landed lightning bolt at full power, the sealed god was a little harder. To eliminate the sealed god he had to stab himself in the heart with a dagger made with the power bestowed by the world itself and then stab the core of the power of the sealed god, killing a god.

Of course just like all heroes he didn't leave unscathed.

After all, a being so powerful that it could kill a god wouldn't be left alone as he was a danger so he was cursed.

The being who risked it all to end the world's enemy was cursed to live an life alone forever.

He was turned immortal and cursed:

  • "If you love someone then this someone will die a painful and gruesome death before your eyes"

But even so, he had saved the world, so as a compensation the gods bestowed a power that was unique and entirely his.

But the being was benevolent and decided to share his power with the other humans so they could fight and protect themselves.

But his power was too strong for the normal human body, so he divided his power into seven pieces, each one with its attributes and characteristics.

Then he distributed the powers to the ones who were deserving and compatible with one of the seven pieces.

It is said that this power still runs dormant in the blood of the descendents who are deserving, just waiting to be triggered to awaken.

And wasn't it familiar? This power...

Seven pieces;

Dormant until triggered;

The underground world was in constant debate because of this tale.

Could this be the tale of the first creation of the Dying Will Flames?

Some of them didn't believe or didn't want to believe.

Many who believed in science were trying to look into old history books to refute the existence of said person.

But they encountered an obstacle:

This person described in the tales indeed existed in the history books in the royalty era.

His name was Cale Henituse.

Chapter 4: The encounter with the Mist

Summary:

Cale teaches the outlanders what they have done and they decided to assume total responsibility, but that is not possible.

Years later Cale Mets a strange child in the forest.

Chapter Text

Kawahira laid limply in the ground, not having any forces to move anymore.

"I think that's enough for you to understand. Now I will explain to you and your entire species about what exactly you just caused by your actions." Cale said as he turned to the frozen crowd that had watched in fear the punishment that had been going on for two full hours non-stop.

"Kawahira tried to fuse my magic with the magic of your world. But there are things that he should have known before trying to do such stupid actions." Cale started, signaling with his head for Kawahira to get up and join the others of his species.

Kawahira felt he had no force to move, but even so he slowly got up and joined Sephira at the front of the crowd, he did not want to anger the god again, he was a terrifying powerful being that Kawahira could not compare to.

"The first thing that Kawahira should have known is that our magics are similar but entirely different at the same time. Your magic is an entire thing with different properties. The magic of this world is not as together, their properties are divided in seven different forces. That was Kawahira's first error." Kawahira trembled as he started to realize what he tried to do.

"Kawahira assumed that because our magic was similar it was an entire piece like yours. And tried to fuse the two. Tried to force seven pieces that don't work together to fuse with an entire harmonic piece. This caused chaos and disharmony." Sephira and her clan glared at the stupid fool.

"The second thing Kawahira forgot to think about in his greedy mind was my nature compared to the piece of cristal." Kawahira flinched and glared at the ground.

"I am the beacon of magic of this world, that means that I have all seven pieces of magic flowing inside my body in harmony. What Kawahira did disturbed the harmony I carefully nurtured. What that means is that if I have lost control and couldn't find that harmony again I would lose control of this power and destroy at least one third of the entire planet."

"But you fixed it right?" Sephira hopefully asked but Cale simply shook his head.

"I managed to restore the harmony but unfortunately the damage was to big even for me to fix. These seven pieces of crystal now share a part of my power in maintaining the balance, but unlike me they cannot naturally restore their energy sources. Which means that someone has to manually feed these crystals from time to time, otherwise the world will fall in chaos and it will destroy itself."

"Can't you restore their energy by yourself?" Was the question that came from somewhere in the crowd.

"No, If I do that the control that I have over the balance of the world will be uneven and that's not an option. The crystals now have the function of producing enough energy so the future generations to be born with this power. My function is to maintain the balance of natural energy and power in the entire world. I can feed one crystal at a time at max but not all, otherwise I will not have enough power to maintain the balance."

"We will assume responsibility for Kawahira actions and take care of feeding the crystals, but how should we do it? Our magic as you said is different." Sephira said and the others nodded in agreement with her.

"I will divide you guys in two groups. The ones I find suitable to hold my magic will be stripped of their magic and given one of the seven magics of this world, the strongest of the bunch will be tasked to feed the jewel. The remaining that where not stripped of their magic will go around the world looking for suitable characters that have strong magic to feed the crystal. That is needed because only the magic of the strongest after me will accept by the crystals."

"Alright."

And so was born the first and strongest Jewel Set, that were later denominated Arcobaleno.

Cale said nothing about how they named the magic of his world, well he supposed it needed a name after all.

Purple—Amethyst

Blue—Sapphire;

Yellow—Citrine;

Red—Ruby;

Indigo—Diamond;

Green— Emerald;

Orange— Topaz;

The first Arcobaleno composed of three aliens(Sephira, her husband Mahida and Kawahira),three humans and Cale.

They had not found anyone suitable for the Amethyst Jewel so Cale had taken upon the position for now.

The humans where gleeful to discover that the emperor from the history books would be one of their companions and THEIR amethyst.

Cale said nothing about how the others of their set became pocessive of each other.

He would never admit but even him cared for them a bit, but never enough to activate the curse on his soul.

He would never let anyone die because of his curse again, even if it meant he shouldn't care and would be alone.

After ten years the crystals reserves were full once again and the arcobalenos were freed from their duties.

Cale took this time to take his leave. He used his indigo magic to change his appearance and he infiltrated into society for some time.

•°•

It has been some time, Cale Henituse is not sure of how long it has been, He had been in countless Jewel sets along the years most of the times taking the Amethyst position.

Kawahira didn't know but the crystals were sentient. They have their own preferences and the Amethyst cristal was the most exigent of them all.

It seemed to like only very few users that weren't Cale Henituse.

Cale felt a little guilty for abandoning the crystals like that but he didn't want to be anywhere close to Kawahira for some time.

Kawahira seemed to have started to forget the lesson Cale have gave him all these years ago.

"How long has been it?"

Cale didn't know. Looking down at his torn and dirty clothes it seemed to have been a long time.

"Ron and everyone would be turning in their graves if they saw my state right now..."

But Cale couldn't really find it in himself to care.

This state of apathy has hit him even since the last remaining member of his last Set died.

He has been wandering around in forests without a destiny and evading society entirely even since then.

"..."

From the glimpses he got from society here and there it had to have been at least two centuries, society seemed to had really evolved.

It reminded Cale of how Korea was before the apocalypse started.

Then he heard small footsteps running somewhere on the east.

"What is a child alone doing I the forest of Darkness?" Cale wondered as he slowly walked towards the footsteps.

Even if there were no monsters anymore, the animals in the old forbidden regions were still relatively more aggressive than normal animals.

As he approached a clearing close to the heart of the forest he finally saw the child.

The child had fair skin, purple hair, and purple upside-down triangle markings on their cheeks. They wear a black cloak with white stripes on the hood that cover their eyes.

The cloak was slightly torn and the sound of a roaring wolves in the distance helped him guess what had the child running and hurt.

The child halted it's steps as it seemed to notice him.

He could see by the child body language that it was conflicted between running to him for protection from the pack of wolves that definitely where tracking their newest 'prey' and running away from him too.

That with the added fact that the child was alone and their cheeks were slightly hollow indication it malnourished gave Cale the hint the child had not a very good home life.

The howling of the approaching pack seemed to be the last push the child needed to decide he was less dangerous than the famished animals hunting him.

The child ran towards him and hid behind Cale as he tensed in anticipation of what would happen.

In that moment the pack broke through the clearing. The leader of the pack walked in the front of the others tracking their prey sent.

The leader looked up towards the direction of where the strong scent was leading, but stopped at what he saw.

The entire pack stopped right after their leader.

Right in front of them was a being no creature that could sense nature would ever dare to confront.

The leader grunted and started retreating the rest of the pack following suit.

If the being had claimed protection of their prey they could do nothing.

They now will have to find something else to hunt.

"..."

"They are gone now child. You can come out."

The child who has jumped up in the tree when it saw the pack of predators slowly descended.

"How did you do that?"

"Animals are very sensitive to nature, if someone is considered strong by nature itself then the animals will leave you alone."

"... And how do I become strong enough to be recognized by nature? I am very sure that you are not referring to body strength."

"You are a smart one aren't you? One of the ways one can be recognized by nature is having knowledge."

"How much knowledge?"

"That depends. But you would be the best one, the have to hold knowledge that others want, knowledge of ancient times and knowledge to grow in life and have advanced knowledge in every area possible."

"Is that the only way?"

"Of course not, but is the one best suited for intelligent ones like you."

"You don't even know me for that long."

"When you have a lot of knowledge you don't need to know anyone for long to discover a lot about them."

"Really? That's very interesting... Will you teach me mister?"

"No."

"Why?"

"If you wanna be recognized by nature you must discover and learn for yourself."

"Hm... What is your name sir?"

"Cale Henituse."

"What a strange name you have sir"

"Really? Well what is your name child? And what pronouns do you go by."

"What are pronouns?"

"You don't know? Well, I will explain this for you then, but only this knowledge, the rest you should seek for yourself, alright?"

"You are no fun."

"I know. Well, Pronouns is how a person is refered by. Those who like being boys usually go by the pronouns He/him. If the person likes to be refered as a girl then the pronouns will be She/her. If someone doesn't like either being a girl or a boy it will usually be They/Them but I have found some people who prefer to be referred by an It/its pronouns."

"I think I understand it, then you shall call me by They/Then pronouns."

"Alright, I use He/they pronouns. Now what is your name."

"I... I don't like my birth name."

"Then tell me the name you want the others to know you by."

"What I want the others to know me by?...Viper. My name is Viper."

"Viper? An very endearing name. Very well Viper, follow me, I will guide you to the other end of the forest, away from wherever you came."

"Is that another thing you discovered about me because you have a lot of knowledge?"

"Yes, your circumstances and body language tells me a lot."

"I have no money."

"I guessed so."

Was Cale answer as he gave the child a pouch filled with gold coins.

"Do you want me to be mugged?" The child gave him an incredulous look.

"The pouch is small enough you can hide it inside your boots or behind your neck, that way it's hidden by the hood and your hair."

"But the jingle sound of coins is very noticeable."

"Alright, you don't seem to believe me, watch and learn, child."

He took the pouch of their hands and tightened the knot so there was no space for the coins to move or jingle. Then took the pouch and put it on his neck and flattened it, he used the remaining long cord of the pouch to tie it loosely around his neck so it wouldn't fall but it wouldn't suffocate him either. Then he took the slightly dirty hood of his jacket and raised it.

"See?"

"Hmm... I guess you were right once again. But didn't you tell you wouldn't teach me anything anymore?"

"Yes I did, that's why I will be taking a gold coin for this and the next lesson I will teach you when we arrive."

"Scammer."

"Indeed I am."

"..."

"We arrived, now listen up kid."

"What is it."

"Never work for free, no matter how small it sounds, if someone can take advantage of you once they will do it again. Work for yourself and your happiness, when you do something do it looking for the future benefits you could get from it."

Then Cale took the pouch of his neck, opened it and took a gold coin out and then gave the pouch to the child.

Then he turned around and left without looking back.

If he had turned around he would see the child staring at him with a determined look as indigo magic slightly fluctuated around them.

"Cale Henituse huh?" The kid muttered to themselves as they turned to leave after attaching the pouch to their neck just as Cale had taught them.

Notes:

In case you maybe have not noticed what I was trying to imply:
Viper was running away from their abusive home and ended up hiding inside the forest. They couldn't leave the forest because their 'family' was still looking for him and he ended encountering a pack of hungry wolves.
