Work Text:
Grian had long accepted that roleplay worlds where odd. Especially when mixed with non roleplay heavy servers.
So Grian had long come to accept that finding a cod or canary carrying a letter from Timmy was normal. He wasn't even sure how the animals even get into Hermitcraft, and trust him, he tried.
So it shouldn't have been a surprise when he just finished a build only to find three yellow canarys staring him down from the top of it. And while it shouldn't have been surprising, it still caused him to yelp.
"You've been waiting for me to look at you, haven't you pesky birds." Grian said as the three canarys fly down next to him. The one carrying the letter in it's beak sits on his shoulder.
The canary leans forwards and Grian takes the letter. As soon as they see the letter in his hands they're off. The canarys are out of sight in a matter of seconds.
Grian shakes his head at the birds and turns to the letter. He already knows it's from Timmy so he puts it into his inventory for later and continues on with his day.
It's only later that night when Grian is curred up in his nest when he pulls out the letter. The envelope is quickly open with the help of one of his talons.
Grian waste no time and pulls out the paper from inside. The letter is filled with familiar hand writing that can only belong to Tim.
'Hey Grian, you're probably reading this at night, to which I tell you to get some sleep.'
Grian snorts at his predictably.
'Any way, Tumble Town's been doing pretty good. Well other then-'
Grian decides to skim most of the paragraph as Timmy goes on about his town and some of the problems and little things that he's proud of.
'Oh- also, you're a uncle! I've been given a goblin child by another emperor and have taken her in as my child.'
Grian had to stop and reread that. He was a uncle?
'And don't tell Tommy this but I've been thinking of adopting him too!'
Alright, hold up— sense when did Tim become grown up enough for not one- but two kids!?
The rest of the letter want over Timmy's kids– Rosa and Tommy. Jimmy had written to him about Tommy before. The young priest slash tailor of Tumble Town, who also just so happen to have his own child.
And while Grian could say he was definitely worried about Jimmy's health, he was also excited about the idea of being a uncle.
He'd totally be the coolest uncle ever! Maybe he could also help teach the kids how to build.
