between buck and Eddie, there is not top or bottom. they do whatever, whenever. (usually results in buck trying to top).
and when it comes to asking that big question, it has to be planned just right and if the significant other says no. it sorta screws up your whole relationship with them and you love life, no one wants that (unless your a single Pringle)
today was their 3 year anniversairy of being together.
they both sat their at a bar table, dead quiet, listening to the loud bar music. they were at the bar round the corner from the station.
"not how I expected this night to go?" buck loudly said.
Eddie nodded with a frown, he continued to drink his beer.
"should we just go home?" Eddie asked turning towards buck. he became all fidgety in his seat and looked nervous. "we don't have to?" Eddie stated.
"it's fine we can go home-" buck got up from his seat, leaving the bottle of beer on the table and leaving. Eddie left his bottle also in the table and quickly got up and followed.
they were now in the parking lot. just the two of them. "what's up with you lately, buck?" Eddie argued. the past week, buck has become a bit distant towards Eddie.

Thursday night, last week
they both sat in bed, buck continuosly scrolling through twitter, Eddie attached to him by the hip. Eddie this night was feeling rather "energetic". he started to trace his finger down the outline of bucks abs through his shirt, "it is just us two tonight" Eddie puts a smug on his face. "I'm not in the mood" buck replied still looking at his phone. Eddie pulled his head up to look at him. h e was confused, stated by buck he is quite the sex addict. he's never heard him say no to this.
"oh, alright then-" Eddie muttered.
he turned over to his side of the bed. he still couldn't believe it.

Eddie wanted to question it but didn't.
"nothing is wrong Eddie, I'm alright" he said as he unlocked his jeep. Eddie grabbed him by his upper arm, buck jolted in reply.
"tell me what's wro-" Eddie got cut off with buck saying
"WILL YOU MARRY ME".
Eddie let go and looked at him in the eye. he could see that buck felt remorseful. "what-?" Eddie stuttered. tears were falling down his face. buck trembled down on one knee, with a ring box wide open showing a metal ring with diamond pattern across it in his hand.
buck throat went dry, he swallowed. "will you marry me Eddie Diaz?" he tried to pull a smile but couldn't.
Eddie stood there for a moment, a million thoughts are running through his head, his body is turned with excitement and guilt at the same time.
buck began to be wobbly, he tried to stay balance, but his leg was saying no.
luckily, Eddie said "yes, fucking yes". buck smiled and got up but was immediately tackled by a hug from the brunette.
Eddie pulled buck into a passionate (but sloppily) kiss.
buck pulled away with a grin.
buck handed Eddie the ring, and he put it on
"you now know why I was distant last week, sorry about that" buck put his hands on Eddies hips, Eddie moved his hand to bucks face. "don't be, if I knew this was coming I wouldn't argue" Eddie pulled him into a tight embrace. they put their heads together
"I think it is time for us to go home, there is a very expensive bottle of wine waiting for us" buck mumbles
Eddie chuckled, "I'll drive", they got into the jeep, Eddie flexing his hand with the ring on. "are we gonna tell Christopher?" buck curiously asked. Eddie thought about it for a bit. "no, found out 2 years ago that he can't keep secrets" he frowned, "may I ask what you told him?" buck smirked
"of course I'm gonna tell you, the secret" he was being sarcastic, buck will never get the secret until the day he dies

Monday, (present day or Smth)
buck and Eddie were sitting in the jeep, they realised they were too early so they were talking. "about the ring-" buck said. "what about the ring?, your not taking it back are you?" Eddie pulled a worried face, buck chuckled softly. "no I'm not taking back the ring, how are we gonna tell the 118 we're getting married?" he replied, they both sat their for a minute thinking about it. "how about I, keep the ring on and see if they realise?" Eddie said shrugging his shoulders.
"what happened if you loose the ring, remember we are firefighters"
"yes, I know, I'll take it off for fires and other really dangerous things" Eddie exaggerated.
buck nodded in approval, "ok, seems simple, if you loose it, I'm not buying you another one" buck sarcastically said with a smirk.
he got out the car, and faced Eddie. "can't promise that" Eddie chuckled. buck shut the car door and Eddie got out.

start of shift
the 118 were sitting at the table eating breakfast, Eddie had finished his breakfast and was listening to chimney rant about jee yun and her babbles, he really think it means something. "do you ever stop talking about your daughter?" Bobby chuckled. "starting to think he talks about in his sleep!" hen added. they all laughed. "how was your anniversary Eddie?" hen asked.
"boring, me and buck sat a bar and drank." he replied, buck nodded.
inside both of them were dying to tell them, but also didn't want to tell them. buck and Eddie were sitting across from each other, they glared at each other, like they were secretly talking, with eye contact.
"you guys alright?" Bobby interrupted. they shook their head to get out of the trance "yep, totally fine" they said in unison. "something else happened over the we-" hen said but got interrupted by the fire bell.
"enough chit-chatting, let's go 118!" Bobby shouted as he got up from his seat.
they all went down stairs, buck and Eddie walking next to eachother. "saved by the bell" buck nuged Eddie and laughed.
little did they know hen was watching them from behind.
she knew something was up. it's hen she's practically Great at everything.

they arrived at the scene, a car had gone off the edge of a cliff roadside, and was barely hanging on, 4 people inside, all 17 yr olds teenagers.
the 118 truck pulled up, reversing into place so the front of truck was facing the edge, "Eddie, chim you'll help the kids out, buck, hen get the winch ready" Bobby shouts "on it cap!" hen shouts.
Eddie and chimney gear up and get connected to the trucks, and start to go down with the winch.
they connected it to the car to hopefully stop it from moving more.
Eddie moves down to the window where the driver window is.
"hellooo?" he was waiting for the drivers name, "Jayme" she said in a panic, to be fair she is leaning off a cliff, "right Jayme I'm gonna put this neck brace on you and this harness, sounds good?" the girl nodded rapidly, with blood and tears going down his face.
Eddie glanced at the other passengers, the passengers in the back are stable, chimney's passenger needed medical attention, Jaymes does need medical attention but the airbag went off so she got saved. Eddie got the harness on Jayme and told Bobby theyre good to go
They were now going up, slowly. "are you single?" Jayme asked out of the blue. "unfortunately for you I'm not" he held up his hand that the ring was on. "what am I looking at?" Jayme said. Eddie became confused and looked at his hand.
the ring was gone.
"oh shit" he mumbled, he began to go into panic mode, "your getting married I guess?" Jayme asked, Eddie nodded quickly "don't tell anyone, they don't know yet" the girl smiled "your secret is safe from me" Eddie still had a worried look
"do you know where the ring went?" Eddie mumbled. "this neck brace doesn't allow me to look anywhere so no, try check where I was sitting though" she reassured.
they were getting closer to the cliffs edge. "don't even speak to the young blonde up their, he will go nuts if he found out" he whispered loudly so that she can still hear.
"is that your fiancee" she laughed softly
"yes"
"oh"
"I KNOW" Eddie gritted his teeth
they got to the edge and he helped to lift the girl onto the backboard.
buck put Jayme onto the board and gave Eddie a glare.
Eddie glared back and went back down.
somehow, the rope was so slow going up, that chimney got the two back passengers up their aswell.
Eddie heard Bobby over the radio "you can come back up now, Diaz"
Eddie hesitated to reply back,
he pulled the radio closer to his face "give me a minute cap".
he went back to the passenger seat, he got his torch out and turned it on and looked about,
Bobby goes over the radio again "Eddie, you need to come up, the winch wont handle the car any longer".
Eddie ignored the radio and kept looking, he found the ring in the foot-rest, he tried to reach down, but the rope was resisting him from it.
he radios to buck "I need you to lower the rope more". buck face went confused, until he used the remaining braincells he had left and realized. "lower the rope" he shouted. "buck were not doing that" Bobby said confused "just do it!" he shouted again furious.
Bobby looked at the 118 and they were clueless. "lower the rope!" Bobby shouted.
they lowered it and Eddie got the ring, he radioed for them to bring him back up.

he got back up on land and took his harness gear off. buck walked over to him, "your a dead man when we get home" he angrily mumbled. "at least I got it back" Eddie replied quietly. "still not the point Eddie". Eddie looked him, serious, and also not trying to burst out laughing, Eddie pinched bucks cheek "aaww look at buck trying to be mad, so adorable"
"that's not funny Eddie" buck replied
"we might aswell tell them, it's only been about 5 hours and theyre catching onto us" Eddie stated. buck to that into note. "give it 3 more days and then we'll tell them" he suggested "your not mad at me anymore" Eddie pouted "no, still very angry" buck walked away to the trucks.
Eddie felt a hand on his shoulder, he turned around and it was Athena. "Athena? when did you get here?"
"I've been here the whole time" she said in her dark monotone voice.
"what's up?"
"I know somethings up when buck is mad, tell me what's the problem"
Eddie gave her a devious, lying face.
"nothing is wrong Athena we are fine"
Athena frowns in response, Eddie raises an eyebrow in response.
Athena squints her eyes, Eddie does the same.
"right, have a good day Eddie-" she blurted out
"you too" he replied
he picked the harness stuff up and went to the truck.

later that night
Chris was asleep and Eddie and buck were both in bed, "I think we need to discuss what happened earlier" Eddie shakes his head in sarcasm " how are you still not over that?" he exaggerated
buck looked at him. "you lost the ring, I spent a lot of money on that". "how much was the ring?" he asked "Im not telling you" buck picked up his phone and went to Twitter to ignore Eddie from asking questions.
"tell me"
"no" buck laughed
"please?"
"never"
Eddie was now really frustrated.
"two grand"
"I'm not telling you anything" buck pulled a sarcastic smile and put a finger in his lip
"five grand"
buck went dead silent.
Eddies mouth went wide.
"you spent five grand on a ring!?" Eddie felt furious and all other emotions. "who said I spent five grand on a ring?"
"your face pendejo, I know your lying face" eddie yelled softly to not wake chris up.
"so you don't like the ring?"buck raised an eyebrow. Eddie made some stuttered mumbles. "no, I like the ring, love it even, but five grand? where did you get five grand?" buck put his phone down, and turned his body towards Eddie .
"I picked up extra shifts for a bit until I had enough money to buy it"
Eddie doesnt remember buck working extra shifts, but buck has his ways so he'd give a point to him.
Eddie turned his head towards buck, they looked at each other until they started laughing.

Tuesday
the 118 was back at the dining table eating breakfast, discussing random things, "smash or pass, jennifer coolidge-" buck said out random. hen spat milk all over the table and everyone started laughing. "buck your on cleaning duty for that" Bobby said still laughing. "still though smash or pass?" the crew all looked at each other, then looked back at buck "pass" they said in unison.
buck muttered 'same'.

buck was now washing the plates and bowls, Eddie came to get coffee. "I think it was a stupid question you asked" Eddie said buck softly laughed to himself.
"I think you should talk to your son about that"
Eddie jolted to look at buck
"why, whats he saying?" he shockingly said
"can't tell you it's a secret" buck laughed. Eddie snickered went over to buck and moved bucks head facing towards him. "I feel like if I take your last name, I'm gonna be dumber", buck took offense to that, "i feel like if i take your name, im not gonna be the fun one any more"
they both laughed softly
Eddie gave buck a quick kiss on the lips, ever since they told the 118 their dating, Bobby had made a big, long list of what they can and cannot do at the station, more of it was aimed against buck.
one of the rules was no really long kissing / make out session.

the fire-bell went off everyone got ready. it was for a local hostel down in west Hollywood, person had claimed someone to be "possessed".
they arrived at scene and a woman no older that mid-fourties was on the floor and unconscious, a girl in her teenage years was also their, it was jayme.
Eddie and Jayme made eye contact, "Jayme?" Eddie said with a concerned look, "the guy, I asked if he was single?" she replied with a raised eyebrow. buck looked at Eddie confused, he gave buck a reassured look and carried on.
"can we asked what happened?" Bobby asserted
"we're staying here cause we got evicted and one minute she was laying down, next minute she started like having a seizure or something" she started panicking. "Jayme if you could move away so we can help her, what's her name?"
she sat there for a couple seconds trying to calculate what's happening. "her name is jaina" she did some awkward hand gestures. Jayme sat on the bed, Eddie attending to her. "this room is haunted, I swear. I'm not superstitious but room 50 is haunted" Eddie was shining a light across her eyes.
"did you get the thing back?" she mumbled to Eddie. "yeah, someone wasn't happy" he quietly snickered. buck was silently laughing. "what are you three laughing about?" Bobby said.
"nothing" they said in unison.

Eddie watched Jayme and jaina go in the back of the ambulance. "kinda begging she don't tell anyone" buck said standing behind Eddie. "don't think she will" Eddie assured buck.

Athena and Bobby were looking at them from a distance.
"somethings is up, even hen is complaining" Athena stated.
Bobby shook his head, "I honestly don't see it, their just being a happy couple" Bobby shrugged his shoulders. "I'm gonna get may to check their social media" Bobbys eyes went wide, "wont they know it's may?". "no"

Wednesday, early morning
buck and Eddie were put on the early shift, meaning they wouldn't leave until like midnight
when they arrived at the fire house, there was practically no one there.
it was dead quiet, "helloooo?" buck shouted dragging the o. they heard some shuffling upstairs but that was it. they dropped their stuff off in the locker rooms and went upstairs, by surprise they saw a dining table, with 118 sitting in their normal chairs, but Athena, Maddie & may were sitting at one end.
"sit" Athena pointed to the two chairs the opposite end of her.
they go to sit, "who died?" buck joked, Eddie punched him in the arm. "ow" buck muttered rubbing his arm.
"past 3 days you've been acting suspicious" Athena stated now crossing her arms and leaning back.
"Monday, you went back down to the car to get something, and you looked quite worried when talking to the Jayme girl" Bobby continued. "then yesterday, when we saw Jayme again, you all said nothing at the same time, not really planned" chimney included.
"after school yesterday, when Chris came to my house to play with Denny, he said you two were arguing the night before about jewelery?" hen ended with.
"you know a lot?" Eddie began to become fidgety in his seat. "why is Maddie hear?" buck asked
"I'm your sister, I know everything" she sarcastically said.
"so tell us you two, what's going on". the two look at eachother then back at the others.
buck leans into Eddie's ears and whispers "should we get a lawyer before we speak", Eddie punched him in the arm again.
awkward silence was around the table. everyone was staring at the two like they were in trouble. buck slightly nudged Eddie, Eddie looked over at buck, his eyes darting back and forth on the ring. Eddie slowly nodded.
everyone gave concerned looks and darted eyes to Eddie. he lifted his hand up with the rings on it. buck smiled, he had a giddy look on his face. "surprise" he shouted.
everyone was still shocked at the news. "everyone pay up, new it" hen blurted out, she reached her hand out the the 118 was paying $20 each. "wow, so you bet on us?"
everyone stopped in their tracks, "I swear hen always wins" buck sulked, hen collected her money and shoved it in her pocket.
"are we gonna sit here and not congratulate them?" Athena reminded. they all got up and started congratulating then and hugging them. buck and Eddie said thank you to all of them and went got ready for the shift.

"can I take the ring off now?" Eddie asked "yes" buck laughed. "I love you" Eddie said doing his buttons up on his shirt. "I love you too" buck responded, he had a big smile on his face.
"can't wait to tell Christopher" buck said as he walked out as he was ready before him.
"I forgot about that"
