A Relaxing Morning

Summary:

You wake up to a certain red winged hero asleep in your arms.
And you couldn't feel more happy than you do right now to be used as a pillow.

Just a cute lil short bit of Hawks fluff to get me back into writing

Work Text:

The early morning sunlight streamed in gently through the window, slowly draping up and over your bed as you slept soundly.

The warmth of the sunlight brushed lightly over your arms, pulling a content smile from your face, but it also slowly pulled you from your sleep, and you couldn't help the quiet and mournful groan that escaped you as your dream slipped away, and was replaced with reality.

Your mind tried to grasp at the dream as it slowly faded, wanting just a few more moments of peace and tranquility.

Your dream had been wonderful. All based around a certain red winged hero. His laugh fron the dream echoed through your mind. It wasn't often that Keigo sounded so free and relaxed, but in your dreams, that's how he always looked.

Happy and content.

It was the kind of look you were hoping would appear on his face more often. The way his eyes softened when he felt truly relaxed was something you'd do anything to see each and every day of your life.

A quiet grumble above you, and the shift of weight had your eyes snap open, and your gaze was immediately filled with the sight of blonde hair.

A soft smile appeared on your face, and you couldn't help but chuckle as Keigo nuzzled further into your chest, still asleep, and clearly not waking anytime soon.

You raised your hand and gently brushed it through his hair, a content hum escaping as you watched him sleep, unbothered by the warmth of the sun on his skin, or by your touch.

He had returned last night. A three week mission that had kept him away from you, with barely any contact due to the lack of signal wherever he had been.

Your heart ached at the sight of the light bruise blossoming on his jaw. A villain who had gotten in a little too close. You were thankful it was only a bruise, given what he had told you last night about the people he had faced.

He always returned to your home, a gentle smile on his face, and some small trinket from wherever he had been dispatched to. Something to remember him by when he wasn't there, he always said.

As if you could ever forget him, the red feather that hung around your neck each and every day a reminder of him, and the love you two shared.

But he had come home, mostly unscathed, and after a good meal and a long, relaxing bath, he passed out as he always did after a long mission. And you always woke in the same position. No matter how many times you slept in the same bed as him, you'd always wake up to the same thing.

Keigo using your chest as a pillow.

It was rather adorable. That was something you couldn't deny. The way he relaxed in your arms, red wings splayed out across the bed, twitching lightly as he dreamt, and his arms wrapped around your waist. It was a very different sight than what the rest of the world saw when it came to their Number Two hero.

They got to see the confident, and slightly cocky hero who was too fast for his own good. And for most, that's all they cared to see.

But you. You felt like the luckiest person in the world to be able to see him like this. See him without the hero mask in place. You got to see the man underneath the hero persona. The funny, kind, quite damaged man, who truly needed someone he could trust to be himself around.

Your gaze softened as you gazed down at him, gently pushing his hair out of his face.

His mouth was parted slightly as he slept, a small snore escaping him. But the telltale scrunch at his brow showed that he was dreaming. Of what, you didn't know.

Adoration filled your gaze as you leaned in and nuzzled into his hair, your free arm wrapping around Keigos waist as he slept soundly.

"Looks like it's going to be a lazy day today." You murmured quietly as you settled down and closed your eyes again.

The days you both had off together were few and far between, and so you treasured each and every one that you got.

And if that meant getting to nap with your winged boyfriend, then what better way could you spend the day?

No doubt you'd wake in a few hours and escape his embrace to cook, only to find yourself back in it when he joined you for breakfast.

You let out a quiet chuckle at the thought, then smiled, truly content with your life, even if you did want to strange your boyfriend with the amount of bird themed jokes he made.
