Chapter Text
Joseph looked at him. A bizarrely dressed man stood at the door, and was staring at him and Caesar. The two of them wondered how the man got on the island.
“Jojo.” Caesar looked at Jojo, “How the hell did that guy get here?”
“No need to narrate my thoughts, Caesarino.” Jojo looked at the guy again, and started approaching him, “Who are you?”
“Not important.” the man said in a rough Russian accent, “I shall use my stand on you.”
“What’s a stand?” Caesar asked, getting very serious.
“None of your business.” the man said, “Sonne, main attack!”
It felt like the room was closing in on them. Caesar started to run towards the man, but suddenly was stopped against his will. Suddenly, all Caesar and Joseph saw was a blinding light, and they started to fall.
Falling. It felt like they were falling forever. Caesar was trying to move, but neither of them could move a muscle.
After what felt like forever, Jojo landed on something, no, someone. He could finally see again.
The man he landed on said something in a foreign language Jojo didn’t understand, his voice very deep and rough. He rolled off of him and Caesar helped Jojo stand up. Jojo looked at the person. It was an Asian boy with black clothes. He had various golden charms on his clothes and a chain hanging off his collar. He grabbed a hat and put it on, the fabric meshing into his short, curly hair. He looked pretty strong, similarly to Jojo.
“We’re so sorry.” Caesar held his hand out to help the teenager up, but he ignored it and stood up himself. He was the same height as Jojo, way too tall for an Asian.
“You speak English?” the boy looked at them, speaking with a thick accent, and Jojo audibly sighed in relief, “My English is rough, sorry if it is weird.”
“It’s fine!” Jojo looked at the boy and then looked at Caesar, “Come on Caesar, we need to figure out where we are.”
“You’re in the United Arab Emirates.” the teenager said to them, and they looked at him in confusion.
“What’s that?” Jojo asked.
“A country in southwest Asia, did you skip Geography class?” He glared at them, seemingly annoyed by their presence.
“I was homeschooled.” Jojo scratched his neck awkwardly.
“I dropped out of school.” Caesar looked away, rather ashamed of the fact.
“Good grief, why am I talking to you two.”
“Jojo!” another Japanese voice said, and the boy looked behind him at another Japanese boy with bright red hair and a green uniform. The redhead was around the height of Caesar, and his eyes were the same color as the Italian’s birthmarks. The two Japanese teens started speaking in their native language. Caesar and Jojo looked at each other, neither of them understanding Japanese.
“Um… What’s going on?” Jojo questioned.
“So…” the redhead looked at them, his voice having a distinct Japanese accent too, “Show us your stands, cowards.”
Suddenly, behind the boy wearing black appeared a purple figure with long black hair. It stared daggers into their eyes.
“What the hell is that!?” Jojo shrieked.
“What’s what?” Caesar looked at Jojo.
“The purple thing!” Jojo said, pointing at the figure.
“There’s nothing there, Jojo.” Caesar snapped at the brunette.
“The blondie’s not a stand user, but the other is.” the black haired teenager stated, and all the sudden, the purple figure rushed towards Jojo. He froze.
“Wait Jojo!” the redhead said, and Jojo and the raven haired teen looked at him, “He doesn’t even know what a stand is. You think a stand user would really pair up with a non-stand user?”
“He could be playing dumb.” the taller boy growled.
“Listen, I don’t know what a stand is. One minute we’re in Venice and now we’re in the United Arab Entrance.”
“United Arab Emirates.” the black haired boy snapped.
“We don’t know how we got here, he’s completely right. We were in Venezia and now we’re here.” Caesar spoke up.
The redhead suddenly turned and whispered something to the other, occasionally turning and pointing at the two Europeans. They both awkwardly looked at each other, shrugging while trying to figure out what they were talking about.
“What’s up with the mask?” The raven haired teen said.
“Pardon?” Jojo asked.
“The mask.” he repeated, “Why are you saying pardon, are you from England or something?”
“As a matter of a fact-“
“Nevermind,” he cut Jojo off, “you speak like my grandfather.”
“Is your grandfather British?” Jojo asked.
“American, but he speaks like an old person like he’s from World War 2.” He sighed.
“World War 2? You’re refering to it as if it already happened.” Caesar noted.
“Because it did. It’s been over for decades.” the redhead noted.
“It just started.” Jojo questioned what they were talking about, when suddenly, he remembered something the redhead said, “Wait, you with the black hair, redhead called you Jojo earlier.”
“Yeah, you shocked that he’s not calling me by my real name?”
“Of course not, it’s just that I’m also called Jojo.” Joseph cheerfully said, but his smile couldn’t be seen due to the mask.
“Do you know my name?” The other Jojo asked, and he said something to the redhead.
“Um…” Jojo thought. He barely knows any Japanese names. He turned to Caesar, “You know any Japanese names?” he whispered. He turned back and cheerfully declared Caesar’s response: “Josuke.”
“Wrong suffix.” The other Jojo rolled his eyes, mumbling something to the redhead.
The redhead nodded, “Well, I think it’s safe to trust you. We don’t know how you can see stands, but since you don’t know him, and you’re with a non-stand user, I think we can safely say you’re at least not an enemy.”
“Honestly, we don’t know what you are.” Other Jojo rolled his eyes and pulled his hat down.
“Thank you for not killing us with this… stand…” Caesar mumbled, very uncharacteristic of him, Jojo noted, “Who are you two anyways.”
“Oh, how rude of us.” the redhead slightly bowed, “I’m Noriaki Kakyoin, please call me Kakyoin, though.”
“Jotaro.” the other Jojo said. So that’s what he meant by wrong suffix.
“Call him Joey, it pisses him off.” Caesar said, who quickly got a light slap from Jojo.
“We’ll call you whatever the fuck we want.” Jotaro stated.
“Well, can you elaborate on what this… United Arab Emirates is?” Jojo asked.
“It’s a place in Southwest Asia.” Kakyoin explained, “It became a country in 1971, but before that it was called the Trucial States.”
“Oh I’ve heard of th-” Jojo stopped suddenly, “Wait, 1971?”
“Yeah, why is that a shock?” Jotaro asked.
“It’s 1939.” Caesar questioned what Jotaro and Kakyoin were saying.
“No, it’s 1988.” Kakyoin looked at them questionably, then it looked like something clicked, “Wait, did you guys time travel?”
“Probably.” Jojo shrugged.
“That’d make sense.” Jotaro looked at the two, “You two, come with us. Avdol will probably know of a time travel stand.”
Kakyoin stepped behind the two Europeans, and ushered them to follow Jotaro.
