After being abandoned at a very young age, a little fox cub lived on the streets. Reason for being abandoned? His biological parents thought he was a freak because of his two tails.
This little fox is called Miles Prower, and he is only 2 years old.
Since the day he was abandoned, he suffered a lot to do anything, being abandoned at that age, even younger than that, left him very defenseless. He's practically a baby! He didn't know how to do practically anything yet!
He had to learn to do things on his own, and he still doesn't even know how to do them right. He has to look for food, sleep on the streets, try to defend himself... he doesn't even know how to speak properly!
It was another day, another day of this endless suffering, and Miles had to look for something to eat.
Walking through the streets, he then saw a woman placing a pie in the window, probably to cool it. Usually he doesn't like stealing people's food, but...
The problem was that the window was very high, he had to use something to climb up. Seeing a dumpster near him, he slowly started to climb up, and when he was almost reaching the pie-
"HEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
Startled, he fell out of the dumpster and looked to the side. As he did so, he saw two brown foxes approaching him and, in a panic, he began to run away from them.
"COME BACK HERE LITTLE THIEF! LET US TEACH YOU A LESSON ABOUT STEALING FOOD FROM OTHER PEOPLE'S HOUSES!" One of the foxes said, and they began to chase him.
After a few minutes of running, Miles ended up tripping on the sidewalk, and hurt himself a little when he fell on it, and soon after, the foxes caught up with him.
"Ha! Look what we have here! A two-tailed freak!"
"Why are you alone? Have you been abandoned?"
"I bet it's because you're a freak and a little thief!"
"How about we show him what we do with thieves like him?"
"Ah, with pleasure."
Then, the foxes grabbed Miles' tails and began to pull them hard, while he cried in pain from this. One of the foxes then started hitting Miles too, as he screamed crying.
"Shut up! This is what you deserve!" Said one of the foxes, even...
"HEY! WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!"
The foxes looked to the side and gasped, immediately releasing Miles. He was in a lot of pain, but he managed to look up.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Said a hedgehog.
"S-Sonic The Hedgehog?!" One of the foxes spoke.
"W-we were just teaching him a lesson about not stealing other people's food!" Said the other fox.
"Hitting him?!" Sonic said.
"W-well, he deserved it! Look at him! He's a freak! Look!" The fox then grabbed one of Miles's hands and pulled him up, making him scream and cry again. "He has two tails! He's a freak!"
"Release him now!" Sonic demanded. The fox released him. "Look at him! He's a kid. A kid like any other! So what if he has two tails? You two think hitting others is okay?" They both looked down. "Don't ever do that again. To him or anyone. Now, go. If I see you doing that again, I'll have to tell your parents." (Somehow...) Sonic thought.
The two ran away. Sonic then looked at the little fox, who was looking at him, scared. Sonic crouched down next to him, but he moved away.
"Hey hey... It's okay, they're already gone. I'm not going to hurt you..." Sonic said, trying to get closer to him. He still pulled away, but less so now.
"Why don't we take care of those injuries of yours, huh? You're really hurt." Sonic extended his arms to him. Miles was scared, but he looked into Sonic's eyes and saw nothing wrong with him. Sonic then picked him up in his arms and started walking into his house.
"So what's your name?" Sonic asked the little fox. He didn't respond, he just looked at him.
"Okay, umm... do you have a family?" After a few seconds, the little fox shook its head. "No? Well, don't worry." Sonic then entered the house.
"Amy and I will take care of you."
