EDIT 6/25/23: hey, guys. some stuff happened with ao3, and i'm honestly sick to my stomach at the thought of continuing to host my fic here, so i'm going to be replacing most of it.

if you want to know why, you can read through the whole thing with receipts here. for me, this was the comment thread that made me decide it was time to leave.

tl;dr (and hooo boy there's a lot of it), it came out that the policy and abuse committee were given basically no support for dealing with csem (the literal 'assaulted a child' kind, not the 'underage ships' kind), and were denied when they asked for industry standard tools. twice, the volunteers were attacked with threats and csem, and the otw's followup amounted to a few pieces of generic advice and amatuer mutual support. they accused the volunteer stuck with dealing with the csem (without tools or support from the heads of ao3) of committing the attacks, and as of typing, still haven't issued her an apology for it. they haven't been keeping up with lawfully reporting csem.

i knew that ao3 was a mess, but their staunch refusal to protect or help their volunteers and their willingness to throw someone who was doing a shitton of horrific work for them under the bus is beyond the pale.

so i'm leaving -- for now, at least. if i hear the heads have stepped down, the policy and abuse committee has been given proper support, and/or azarias gets an apology and all her therapist's bills paid for, i'll come back and put my fics back.

Sometimes, Chat wondered when it was time to leave. When the stars came out to play? When Ladybug's spots flickered in the moonlight? When dawn painted the sky pink?

He didn't know. All he knew was that he wanted it to be never.

Alya spends her time trying to get Marinette together with her crush, and Nino storms Adrien's house to convince Mr. Agreste to let his son have a birthday and gets so upset when h won't he gets turned into an akuma, and Chat respects Ladybug enough to close the door on finding out her identity against her wishes, and even though Ladybug is 5000% done with Chat's flirting, she still supports him and saves him and readily admits that she needs him.

adrien's name for mari, 'my princess,' was actually supposed to have a heart with an arrow through it at the end, instead of a plain one, but ao3 was dumb and refused. please imagine a little arrow going through that ascii heart. <3

DISCLAIMER: i started and wrote most of this fic around the 7th/8th episode of the korean dub (the first dub to air) so there are actually a fair few characterizations i no longer agree with after having the full first season, but i'm keeping them for internal consistency. sorry if any of it bothers you!
