Henry can feel whatever illness he's caught coming on a few days before he actually falls ill. The timing isn't ideal, as he's flying back to America to move into the brownstone, but he does as he always does and powers throught it, raising his chin in the way alex loves, even though he isn't around to see him doing it and grins and bares it until he can't any longer.
He ends up napping the entire flight, which isnt normal for him and shaan notices almost immediately. He feels the mans eyes on him the moment he wakes up again once the plane has landed. He feels even worse than before he went to sleep, but still he powers through it even though he feels seconds away from falling over due to dizziness.
He lasts long enough to get to his new home, before he lets himself show how badly he's feeling. Alex double takes the second he lays eyes on him, his brows furrowing in concern when Henry all but stumbled into his open arms and groaned quietly. He gets lead upstairs to bed, Alex helping him change into something more comfortable before tucking him in.
He ends up falling into a deep sleep, he always sleeps better with Alex close by. But when he wakes again, he has a raging fever, he can barely breath and he cannot for the life of him stop sneezing or coughing. He hasn't been this sick in years, not since he was 12 and his dad had to take care of him because his mum was busy with engagements.
He's interrupted from that thought by something cool pressing against his forehead and the feeling of fingers running through his hair comfortingly. When he opens his eyes, alex is sat on the bed beside him, smiling softly when he notices his prince was awake "hi baby" he says softly, making henry smile back in response as he leans into the cold feeling of the cloth on his head, relaxing slightly when Alex's nails gently scratch his scalp.
He goes to speak, but a coughing fit interrupts him before he gets a word out. Alex is quick to help him sit up, rubbing his back and giving him a drink, tea with honey he briefly notices, before letting Henry lean against him "i was wondering when you'd wake up, you've been out for a day and a half" Alex says softly, frowning when Henry sneezes hard enough to fold almost in two.
Henry groan as he leans back against his boyfriend, becoming aware that alex has most likely stayed with him this entire time "you've stayed this entire time?" He asks, purely because he's curious and no one other than his dad has ever done such a thing for him, even when it was a cold and he was miserable for days on end.
Alex nods, looking slightly confused "why wouldnt i? I love you and i wanna take care of you, cariño" he says softly, still running his fingers through Henry's hair, almost making him forget what he's about to say "but if you stay youll get sick too" he whines softly, because even though he adores Alex for taking care of him he also doesn't want him catching whatever this is, because it truly is awful.
Alex just chuckles quietly, leaning down to kiss his cheek "thats a risk im willing to take mi amor" he says softly, making henry duck his head as he smiles quietly to himself "i love you" henry says with feeling, leaning back against Alex and trusting him to hold all of his weight as he snuggles in "i love you too, hen" he hears as he once again falls asleep, a soft kiss pressed against his hair the last thing he feels before he's fully asleep.
It takes him a few days to recover from whatever he came down with, it took almost all the strength out of him those first few days, but he eventually gets back on his feet. Just in time, because not even a week after he feels 100% again, Alex, just like he predicted falls sick with the same illness.
