"Pi...kachu..."
Ash slowly turned his head to look at his bleeding friend. A complete look of emptiness lay on both of their faces. They had given every ounce of strength within themselves to win, after all, they never gave up until the end. Even if they lost important battles, they kept moving on to greater and greater heights, and it looked as if Alola was finally the chance, the time for them to win.
Except the world had other plans.
The suited man cackled, his hands behind his back. He took a few steps forward, the only sound besides the wind being the crackling of the rocks. Next to him floated a powerful creature, one that he created many years ago to be the most powerful Pokémon to ever exist.
And it worked.
Region by region, Team Rocket began to extend its influence, controlling the people and growing ever more powerful. Finally, they reached Alola. Ash and Pikachu, being the dynamic duo they were, attempted to fight Team Rocket and stop their world conquest from becoming a reality. But reality didn't cater to their boundless fighting spirit, it catered to logic.
Ash reached his hand out, just wanting to pet Pikachu and tell him that it would all be okay. Giovanni snapped his fingers.
"Fall"
Mewtwo reached its hand out, a Psychic wave pulsating from it and hitting Ash, stopping him from reaching Pikachu. He faltered, sliding to the ground. A slight groan escaped his mouth as it happened, while Pikachu continued not to move. Giovanni laughed yet again as he and Mewtwo reached closer.
"You are alone...you have reached your finale..."
Ash attempted to push himself back up, but a pain shot through his arm, causing him to fall back down. Pikachu sparked ever so slightly, but it was nothing.
"Darkness envelops you both, no electricity can light it up," Giovanni said, holding his palm out, before balling it into a fist. "A new era dawns upon this region, and this world"
The Rocket Boss turned around, motioning to the group of Ultra Beasts behind him, all gathered together, obeying his every command. "These Ultra Beasts are just beginning. They will join my great and terrible army..."
Ash now just laid on his bloodied back, his hand limp over his chest which raised up and down barely. His vision was blurred but he stared up at the sky, the orange sky. He then looked around him, seeing all of the destruction, the dead people and Pokémon, the people and Pokémon who were just barely clinging on to their last breath.
But Giovanni then walked right up to Ash, looking down at him. "Together, we will sail to many worlds. And we'll sail until every universe has been brought under our great name..."
He reached down toward Ash's jacket, slipping his hand into one of the pockets. Ash's breathing began to speed up, but just barely. He attempted to swat Giovanni's hand again, but Mewtwo activated his powers, putting more and more pressure of gravity onto the boy.
"Pika!" Pikachu couldn't bear to see his friend like this.
"Cease this at once!" Mewtwo barked, turning to him and restraining him by his throat.
"I will admit, Ash Ketchum. You and Pikachu, you are strong, but I am beyond strength. We are beyond strength. We are..." he slowly lifted his hand back up into the air, holding an object he took from Ash's pocket, a multicolored feather.
A huge puddle of blood had formed under Ash as he took his last breaths. Pikachu had fainted from Mewtwo's grip, and now the two were still, unconscious, not breathing, and soon enough, no longer living.
