Work Text:

Plo felt a gentle nudge from the Force and pulled himself out of his meditation, disentangling from Jo as she did the same, releasing her hand from his as they stood.

One of the officers was coming down the hall towards their cell.

“Your Grandmaster is infuriating to speak to.” He said shortly, shoving his keycard into the lock with more force than was necessary. “But apparently being peaceful isn’t as important to the Jedi as I thought it was.”

“Peace is a very important Jedi tenet.” Jo said primly. “Inner peace particularly, however, defence of the innocent is even more important than outward peace.”

“Xe wasn’t innocent.” The officer said as the lock disengaged and the door swung open.

“Being without a home is not a crime,” Plo said, “and even if it was, it would not merit the violence with which your officers were apprehending xem.”

“Listen,” the officer sighed, “I just spent the last twenty minutes listening to your Grandmaster tell me about the same stuff, I don’t need to hear it from you too.”

Plo exchanged a look with Jo, amusement roiling in the Force around them. It was more than likely that it was either the officer’s fault for not listening, Yoda holding him on the call for longer than necessary for his own amusement, or some combination of the two.

“Master Yoda is very wise indeed.” Plo said, and the officer scowled at him, gesturing for them to follow him out of the cell.
