Character: Regulus Black
Prompt: (Dialogue) “I regret nothing.”
When Regulus Black opened his eyes, he was shocked to find himself staring at a ceiling that reflected the night sky. It reminded him of Hogwarts’ Great Hall.
“—bloody idiot!” he heard a vaguely familiar voice yelling.
Regulus tried to force himself into a sitting position, but he found he was too weak. He settled for slumping against the pillows behind him.
With a frown, he looked around the bedroom he was in. It was unfamiliar with dark walls, and wood flooring. The bed he was lying in had light gray sheets, and there was a nightstand on either side.
Glancing around, Regulus found his wand on the nightstand closest to him.
He forced himself to reach out and grab it. His fingers were an inch away when the door opened, startling him.
“Lay down!” snapped his older brother as Sirius Black stormed him.
He walked over, pushing Regulus back into bed before pulling the covers up. He glared down at his brother. “You need to rest,” he ordered.
Regulus opened his mouth to open but he quickly closed it at the angry look on his older brother’s face.
“You nearly died in that cave!” Sirius stated. “I barely managed to save from the Inferi.”
“H-how long?” Regulus asked, finding himself horse and his throat hurting.
“Ten days,” Sirius replied. There was a fire in his gray eyes. “I brought you here, and ‘Dromeda has come to check on you.”
“T-thank you,” Regulus whispered.
“What were you doing in that cave?” Sirius demanded, crossing his arms.
“H-horcruxes,” Regulus answered. “T-the Dark Lord made multiple.”
Sirius paled and his expression changed from angry to horrified. “Did you get it?” he asked, his tone softer.
Nodding, Regulus closed his eyes. “K-Kreature has it,” he explained.
Sirius said nothing, placing a hand against Regulus’ forehead.
Regulus opened his eyes.
Sirius offered him a potion vial.
“I regret nothing,” Regulus told his older brother. “The Dark Lord needs to be stopped.” He took the potion vial and downed the contains.
Something in Sirius’ gray eyes shifted. “You need to rest,” he stated. “We’ll talk about this later.”
