Hello!

In this universe, Suhyeok never stopped hanging out with Myeong-hwan and is in a generally worse spot than he was. This chapter takes place from Suhyeok's point of view.

Namra is Namra.

Let's see how it plays out.

Chapter 1: chapter i. a chance meeting

Chapter Text

A boy lands on a pile of chairs as he groans in pain. A fight between two prominent gangs is happening: Myeong-hwan's of Hyosan and Woo-min of Sungjin.

Suhyeok throws a perfectly timed punch to the gut of another young delinquent taking the breath out of him. Suhyeok feels the hand of the delinquent on his shoulder and pushes the boy off and looks as he crumples to the floor in pain.

Man, these guys are weak.

He easily dodges a poorly aimed punch directed at him by some no-name from Sungjin High. He counters by throwing a right jab followed by a strong left hook knocking the boy down to the ground. He takes in his surroundings and notices his friends and how they’re faring. Gwi-nam, the one who actually knows how to throw a punch, has a guy in a headlock, Chang-hoon was currently fighting one member which he looks like he's winning and last but not least, Myeong-hwan. Myeong-hwan was getting ganged up on by two other boys but he was holding his own.

As expected.

Suhyeok was about to rush and help Myeong-hwan until a sudden yell called out to him, a warning from Gwi-nam.

“Ya! Suhyeok!”

Suhyeok turned to face Gwi-nam before feeling a solid kick land on the square of his back, sending him tumbling to the floor. He steadies himself back up and takes a look at his current opponent.

He’s just as tall as me and the way that kick felt. He’s probably trained just like me.

“You must be Lee Suhyeok.” The smug student said as he walked up to him slowly.

“Who’s asking?” Suhyeok replied in annoyance as he stood up, preparing himself for the next attack.

“The name’s Woo-min.” Woo-min said smugly as he did a mock bow. " I've been wanting to beat you for a while now.”

Suhyeok scoffed at the comment, “Goodluck with that.”

The boy quickly threw a right hook which Suhyeok evaded with no difficulty. He followed up with a 360 turn kick which Suhyeok had to block with both his hands up.

He knows a little bit.

"Suhyeok!" Gwi-nam yelled out to help but was suddenly tackled by one of the goons assaulting Myeong-hwan earlier.

Suhyeok threw a fake at Woo-min before throwing a left hook at the guy. Woo-min easily dodged that and hopped back playfully as if he wasn’t taking the fight seriously.

Is he serious right now?

“Is that it?” Woo-min said smugly with an unimpressed scoff. He put his hands up in a boxing stance. Suhyeok prepared himself.

Woo-min threw a left hook which Suhyeok countered with a right hook. The parry hurt but Suhyeok shrugged it off and followed up with a solid left hook that landed center on Woo-min’s face.

Woo-min staggered a bit, feeling a bit woozy from the hit but regained his senses after a few. Suhyeok saw this and quickly followed up with a kick to his right leg that made him double over. Suhyeok threw a right kick to his face, knocking Woo-min down. Suhyeok saw Woo-min try to get up and quickly threw a kick to the bottom of his chin, knocking him out and a few teeth along with it.

I was almost impressed.

“Suhyeok!” Myeong-hwan yelled.

Suhyeok saw him taking one of the delinquents and another about to join in. He decided to even the odds.

He rushed towards one of the delinquents attempting to join in and threw a flying kick sending him directly to the wall. Suhyeok grabbed the one currently trying to choke Myeong-hwan and threw him off, hearing the cracking of bottles in the corner.

"You good?" Suhyeok huffed out as he took a look at Myeong-hwan.

"These fuckers just don't fight fair." Myeong-hwan panted as he loosened his collar a bit.

"It's 10 against 4, It was never gonna be fair." Suhyeok said, chuckling.

The one who landed by the wall rushed towards Suhyeok and took a cheeky swing at him which he dodged. He crouched and threw a perfectly place punch to his liver and gut. The boy was about to fall but Suhyeok caught him by the collar and threw a haymaker with his left hand. He let the boy fall and walked towards the remaining member who was just about gaining his bearings.

As he was about to deal the final blow, the delinquent grabbed a broken bottle and slashed it towards Suhyeok. Suhyeok dodged but it was close enough to his throat that he was caught by surprise. He unconsciously touched his throat in response.

Crazy bastard almost took my throat!

The boy grabbed a few bottles and threw them at Suhyeok. He blocked them with his school jacket but felt something stick after the second bottle landed.

"Fuckers!" the delinquent yelled as he wildly took swings at him which he dodged carefully.

Suhyeok intercepted him, holding him still with both his hands raised. He threw a headbutt and kicked his foot making the would-be murderer lose his footing. He landed hard on the cement floor as Suhyeok wasted no time getting on top of him, pulling him by the collar and punching him. He kept punching him until he felt a few hands pull him back.

"He's done for. Leave him." Gwi-nam said as he held Suhyeok back a bit.

Suhyeok took a look at the boy and saw bruises of all kinds on his face. Suhyeok squinted and shrugged off the arms holding him. He walked back to the boy and delivered a final kick to his face.

Fucker.

"Is that everyone?" Myeong-hwan looked around the floor.

"Unless someone is throwing a goddamn birthday party, I don't think so." Chang-hoon said, panting as he held his knees.

"Let's go. My body fucking hurts." Gwi-nam complained as he rubbed his arm.

"Of course, it does. Someone slammed a chair over you." Chang-hoon joked as he stood up straight and patted Gwi-nam on the back. Gwi-nam winced a bit and faked a punch towards Chang-hoon.

"You aren't special." Suhyeok commented as he wiped off some bits of glass from his jacket.

As they turned to leave, Myeong-hwan stopped.

"Hold up." Myeong-hwan said to stop them, “Ya, shitheads!" as he turned around and yelled to the rival gang.

"This is our turf now. Next time if we catch any of you sacks of shit roaming around these parts. Expect a visit from yours truly.” Myeong-hwan yelled loudly for all to hear. Suhyeok took a look around and saw at least 10 boys down clutching their stomach, half conscious, or knocked out completely.

Chang-hoon got one last kick in and kicked Woo-min in the stomach before they left.

"Suhyeok, you coming? Hyeon-ju got us a spot at a club nearby." Myeong-hwan said as they made their way down the stairs.

"No thanks, I need a goddamn ice pack and a few stitches." Suhyeok complained as he stretched his left arm back.

"You sure? She brought some of her friends. The one who finds you handsome is also there today." Myeong-hwan followed up as he wiped some blood of his face.

"So?" Suhyeok retorted, disinterested in the matter entirely.

Gwi-nam snickered. "Man, you have no interest in girls whatsoever. You like boys or something?"

"Fuck off, Gwinam. You haven't even kissed anyone." Suhyeok chuckled as he rebutted the insult.

All the boys laughed at the comment and Gwi-nam fell silent.

"Yeah yeah, Screw you." Gwi-nam rolled his eyes as he pushed Suhyeok a bit.

"Sure you not comin? Last chance?" Myeong-hwan asked as they exited the building.

Suhyeok shook his head and replied. "I'm going to bed. Tell me about it tomorrow."

Myeong-hwan scoffed and shrugged. "Do as you wish"

As the trio made their way to the club and Suhyeok another, Myeong-hwan threw his hand up and waved. His back turned to Suhyeok.

"See you!"

Suhyeok didn't even bother to turn around and yell back. He threw his hand back up in response to wave goodbye and didn't care to see if they saw or not.

Suhyeok shoved a hand in his pocket and started walking back to his apartment. The occasional stares of people didn't bother him anymore, it was just common at this point. He grazes his lip with a cut and hisses at the contact.

Everything aches. My knuckles are bleeding, my back is sore, and everything below my neck is burning. Those bastards just had to use chairs and everything, it’s never a clean fight with these people.

He brushes off any dust and dirt from his blazer and stops at a streetlight to do so with his pants. Suhyeok feels something dripping on his back and makes his way to a street corner right beside a convenience store to check it out.

He pulls off his jacket and hangs it on a ladder, he touches the pain emanating from his back. He feels something sticking out and slowly lets out a hiss of pain as he looks at the object in between his fingers.

Glass. Probably from the bottle one of them threw at me.

He sighs and throws it to the ground. He turns to get his jacket but spots a lone figure with a cigarette in her mouth and the sight shocks him.

Is that who I think it is?

Choi Namra, all by her lonesome, with a cigarette in her mouth. She’s mindlessly taking puffs as she stares at the sky with her head to the back of the dirty wall.

What’s a girl like her doing in a place like this?

Suhyeok puts on his blazer quietly and walks slowly towards the girl. He quietly fishes his phone out and takes a picture of her.

How interesting.

Suhyeok smiles at the picture and shoves his phone down his pocket.

"Hey, prez!"

Suhyeok smiles as makes his way in front of her and settles casually there. Namra, to say the least, is shocked. She didn't expect Lee Suhyeok of all people to pop out this late at night to approach her while she was smoking.

"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone." Suhyeok threw his hands up in fake surrender as he looked at the girl

"Mind if I have one?" Suhyeok motioned with his head to the cigarette in her mouth which Namra quickly removed from her mouth and blew the smoke out.

Namra gave him a cold stare and said the first words she's ever said to him directly. "No."

Suhyeok raised his eyebrows in surprise. "That's rough but fair." as he looked down with a smile.

"No one will believe you." Namra said as she quickly grabbed her things from the chair beside her.

"Hey, I just said I wasn't gonna say anything." Suhyeok made an attempt of reassurance but it fell on

Namra quickly stomped out her cigarette and made her way back inside the building, slamming the door as she went inside. Suhyeok's mouth was still open, looked at the aftermath of their conversation and smiled.

She has no idea, does she?

Suhyeok looked down and chuckled, he opened his phone and looked at the picture he just took.

This will be fun.
