Chapter 1: The Sword of Protection Part 1
In a distant galaxy, there was the planet of Etheria. For ages the world had been a lush paradise, until many centuries ago, when a galactic empire known as The Horde conquered the planet. They implemented a brutal tyrannical regime, plundering the resources of the planet and subjugating its people. Many Etherians tried to resist, but The Horde’s advanced technology and magic made quick work of most rebellions. All of this was aided by The Horde's leader on Etheria, a powerful being known as Hordak.
In a small village in the countryside, Horde forces had arrived unexpectedly. Everyone in the village was brought up front by the power-armored soldiers of The Horde. Waiting with the soldiers was Hordak himself, his pale skin and glowing red eyes striking fear in all those around him. His slender, almost androgynous physique made him stand out from the bulky armored soldiers, and especially from the person standing next to him. A 12-foot tall behemoth of a man, equipped with modified power armor, his muscled arms each almost as thick as a person, and a helmet covering his face, yellow glowing eyes glaring menacingly at the gathered villagers. To Hordak's other side was a figure clad in a red and black robe. A wraith, a being possessing great magical power, subservient to the overlord’s will. The elderly mayor of the village, wearing simple peasant garb like everyone else, walked to the front of the crowd.
"Oh great Lord Hordak, we were not told of your visit to our village. For what reason do you honor us with your presence?" the mayor asked as he bowed to their overlord.
"You can spare the pleasantries. I am here due to reports that your village has been harboring rebels." Hordak responded bluntly.
"Lord Hordak, we would never harbor rebels in our village." The mayor said nervously
"Is that right? You know, I would be inclined to believe you if the last village mayor harboring rebels didn't tell me the exact same thing...until we killed most of the population and tortured the information out of him. And it's funny, you're reminding me a lot of him." Hordak said, his tone menacing. The villagers nervously glanced at each other. The mayor could not stop himself from shaking in fear.
"M-my lord, I assure you. We would never do anything that goes against your rule." The mayor pleaded, collapsing onto his knees.
"Really? Is that why there are currently five rebels, all in sniping positions across the village, with their rifles aimed directly at me?" Hordak said, the sound of those words making the mayor's face go pale. The soldiers all aimed their weapons at the buildings, while forming a defensive circle around Hordak and his two companions.
"Awaiting your orders, my lord." the giant man next to Hordak said.
"At ease, Force Captain." Hordak waved his hand dismissively before looking down at the mayor.
"You know, I do not normally get directly involved in these matters." he spoke before he opened his hand and spread his clawed fingers. A beam shot out of each finger and homed in on several buildings. In an instant, each spot hit blew up in a stunning blast of red energy, demolishing the buildings completely.
"But it seems that the people of Etheria have forgotten who rules over them." The overlord continued, before his eyes glowed a bright red. The mayor grunted wearily as a sharp, stinging pain began to overtake his body. The old man looked at his hand, only to find his very skin cracking.
"I knew there were rebels here before I even arrived. If you were wise, if you understood who you were trying to betray, you would have surrendered and told me the truth. But you were not wise. You thought you could trick me. That you could lie to me. That shows me that the people of Etheria need to be reminded why I am their master." Hordak said as cracks continued to form on the mayor’s body, light shining through them. He screamed in pain as the cracks covered his whole body and burst open, a large explosion destroying the person that was once there.
The villagers all looked on in horror at the scorched patch of dirt that was once their wise elder. A slight hint of a smirk appeared on Hordak’s face as he wiped the blue locks of his hair aside. The robed figure approached his master, seemingly floating several inches off the ground.
"My Lord, Shadow Weaver requests your presence back at The Fright Zone." The wraith informed him.
"I see. Force Captain Kyle, deal with the rest of this village, I have far more important matters to attend to." Hordak commanded the giant man. Force Captain Kyle nodded as the other Horde soldiers aimed their energy weapons at the villagers. A menacing hiss emitted from their riffles as they opened fire.
In an instant, Hordak teleported to The Fright Zone, The Horde's base of operations on Etheria. A city of warped metal and industrial machines. The dark green smoke from the many factories blotted out the sky, and a bright red aura blanketed the land. Hordak walked down a corridor where a woman wearing a red cloak that covered her entire body was waiting for him.
"You're late." the woman said sternly
"I was busy, Shadow Weaver." Hordak replied dismissively.
"Well then, let's hope that's a good enough excuse for her." Shadow Weaver said as the two opened a door and entered into a room. A lively party was being held there, several other Horde Force Captains chatting and enjoying themselves. On the ceiling was a banner that read ‘Happy 20th Birthday Adora!’
"Dad! You made it!" a blonde woman shouted with joy. Her crystal blue eyes shined warmly as she ran up and hugged Hordak.
"Of course, Adora. I wouldn't miss this for anything." Hordak smiled as he hugged Adora back.
"Indeed, your father and I are very proud of you." Shadow Weaver said putting her hand on Adora's shoulder. "It's not just your birthday. Today is the day you officially become a soldier of The Horde."
"Yes! When do I get to go on my first mission!?" She asked excitedly. She had been training to be part of The Horde since she was a kid and today was the day she finally got in.
"In time, Adora." Hordak chuckled, "For now, enjoy the celebration."
"Yeah, come on, Adora. Scorpia and Grizzlor are in an arm wrestling match, you HAVE to see it." a cat woman wearing a red headset with goggles said as she grabbed Adora’s hand. Catra, another soldier of the Horde and Adora’s girlfriend. Adora chuckled as Catra dragged her to a table where a scorpion woman and a bear man were in an arm wrestling competition, the other captains watching and cheering them on. Adora had known the other Horde captains since she was a kid. They helped train her and hone her abilities. Easily the Horde member who she was closest with was Catra; the two were childhood friends, their friendship eventually blooming into love for one another.
"Adora! Happy Birthday!" a boy around Adora's age called out. He greatly resembled Hordak, though his hair was white and his eyes more green instead of red. Prince Zed, Hordak's nephew and a close friend of Adora. Adora had known Zed since he was born, the two were like siblings at this point. The two hugged each other and smiled.
"Thanks, Zed. Happy to see you." Adora smiled. Catra was focused on the arm wrestling match like the other Horde captains, Grizzlor and Scorpia both struggling hard to gain the upper hand on the other. Eventually, Grizzlor won the match, some captains cheering and some groaning.
"Congrats on making it in, Adora." said a green fish-looking man.
"Yeah, we knew you had it in ya." Said a strange creature with a red head and blue body.
"Thanks, Leech. Thanks, Mantenna. I wouldn't have made it this far without you all." Adora smiled before Scorpia hugged her tightly from behind.
"Aw thanks, Adora." the buff scorpion woman smiled before letting Adora go, the blonde needing to take a moment to catch her breath. Scorpia stood out from the other Horde captains, mainly from just how nice she was to everyone. Adora, Catra, Zed, Matenna, Leech, it didn't matter. She loved to greet her fellow Horde members with a smile and a hug.
"We all helped train you to get this far and we know you'll make us proud." Grizzlor said patting Adora's back.
"Thanks!...Hey, where are Entrapta and Kyle?" Adora asked
"Kyle said he had a mission to do. He said he'd try to get here as soon as he can." Catra explained, "As for Entrapta, who knows? Probably still cooped up at Outpost Six. Cause Hordak forbid she actually leave that lab once in a while." she rolled her eyes.
"Well, I'm still happy you all are here." Adora smiled. It took a little under an hour, but Kyle finally arrived, his massive frame ducking under the doorway.
"Adora, sorry I'm late. Hope you weren't having too much fun without me." Kyle chuckled, his deep and digitized voice boomed throughout the room, but nonetheless conveyed his friendly enthusiasm.
"Ah, it's okay, Kyle. And don't worry, no party can truly start without you." Adora smiled, patting Kyle's arm. While Kyle looked intimidating and was feared among the Horde's enemies, most fellow members of the Horde knew him as a dependable friend.
"Since most of us are here, let's have a picture of us scanned." Lonnie, Adora's best friend, called out as she motioned for everyone to gather, holding a camera in her hand. The group then huddled together and smiled as Lonnie scanned a holographic picture of them all.
Not too long after the party ended, Adora went to the Horde’s stables. Many creatures that the Horde made use of were housed there, including Adora's personal horse, Spirit. She entered the white horse's stable and grabbed the brush hanging on the wall.
"Today's the day, Spirit." Adora smiled as she began brushing the horse's fur, "Today, I get to go on my first ever mission...is it wrong that I'm nervous?" she asked. She had been looking forward to the day she became a full member for years, wanting to help the Horde fight the rebellion. But now that the day was here, she wasn't 100% sure if she was ready.
"I mean, what if I mess up? What if I completely fail a mission? What if it turns out I'm not ready for actual fieldwork, what if-"
"You know, if you're nervous, there are others you can talk to besides your horse." Catra teased as she entered the room. She walked to the stable right across from Spirit, where a horse-sized pink lion was.
"I can't help it, you know? I'm anxious about this stuff." Adora said
"You shouldn't be. You've been training for this day since you were, like, eight." Catra said petting the lion, "Everyone's rooting for you to succeed."
Adora sighed and smiled as she finished brushing Spirit's coat. "I guess you're right. Still can't help but be a little nervous. I mean, I'm basically the princess of The Horde, that alone puts a lot of expectations on me."
"And I know you'll surpass every single one. You know why?" Catra asked as she walked up to Adora and wrapped her arms around her shoulders.
"Because you love me?"
"Yes, and because I know you." Catra smiled, "And I know you won't cave under pressure."
Adora smiled and leaned her head closer to Catra's. "Thanks, hon."
Later that day, Adora was in one of The Horde’s armories, searching for a set of power armor that would fit her. Despite her nervousness, she was still beyond excited that she was going to go on her first mission. She dreamed of joining in The Horde's fight against the Rebels for such a long time.
"Adora-" Shadow Weaver said as she teleported into the room. Adora jumped slightly in surprise. Even after all these years she still got startled by that odd habit of her mother.
"I wanted to give you this gift. Your very own special suit." The tall woman said as she handed a box over to Adora. "Go ahead, put it on."
Adora opened the box and put on the outfit; it was a gray bodysuit, covered by black armor, claws on the fingers of the gloves, knee-high boots, and a long red cape on the back. She looked at herself in the mirror.
"Uh, mom? Are you sure this is okay for me to wear? Shouldn’t I be wearing power armor like everyone else?" Adora asked while examining herself.
"Trust me, dear. This suit will allow you to be agile, fast, and deadly. I even enchanted it with my magic so that it is completely impenetrable." Shadow Weaver said resting her hands on Adora's shoulders.
"Wow, really? Thanks mom!" Adora smiled as she turned around and hugged her mother.
"Anything for you, darling. Now head off. Catra and Force Captain Kyle are waiting for you."
Adora walked out of the armory and to the main entrance of The Fright Zone, where she saw Catra, Kyle, and several soldiers preparing two transport vehicles.
"Hey, Adora!" Catra smiled as she waved at Adora. "Oh wow, what's with the new outfit?"
"Shadow Weaver made it for me for missions. What do you think?" Adora asked as she spun around in a circle to show off her new duds.
"It looks great, hon." Catra smiled as she kissed Adora's cheek.
"Alright, everything's ready." Kyle said, "Job's simple, we head to the Horde Prison at Dryl, load up the transports with prisoners, and bring them back here for rehabilitation. Standard procedure, perfect for your first mission, Adora." He said encouragingly as he looked down at Adora.
"You ready, Adora?" Catra asked putting her arm around Adora's waist.
Adora looked at the transports and smiled, "I'm ready." she said determined. She was ready to begin her long and glorious career serving The Horde.

Chapter 2: The Sword of Protection Part 2
Adora, Catra, and Kyle were boarding one of the Horde transports. As she sat down, Adora couldn’t help but feel unsure. This mission would be her first time ever setting foot outside of The Fright Zone.
"Don't worry, the first mission's always the hardest." Kyle reassured her, crouched inside the transport, his huge frame not allowing him to sit down.
"You're gonna do great, Adora. It's a simple back and forth to Dryl." Catra said, comforting Adora, "Nothing is gonna go wrong."
Somewhere in a lush forest, a redheaded man was high up a tree, gazing down the dirt road with a telescope. His red cape flowing in the wind.
"See anything?" a purple-haired woman called up to him, a sparkling cape draped over her shoulders.
"Glimmer! SHH!" The man shushed, glaring down at her.
"Bow, we're literally the only ones out here. Are you sure this is the spot?" the woman asked
"Trust me, I've been watching this road for a while," Bow said, "every couple of weeks, Horde transports come down this road to Dryl, and then it comes back on its way to The Fright Zone."
"So...what, we just wait here for the transports to come by and jump them?" Glimmer asked
"No, we wait for the transports to pass and then jump them when they come back. There's a huge Horde prison in Dryl and they'll probably be transporting prisoners." Bow said determined.
Glimmer sat down next to the tree Bow was on, waiting for anything to happen. Bow then suddenly landed in front of her, making her yelp.
"Okay, the transports are on their way, let's hide." Bow said, getting down behind the bushes, Glimmer doing the same. The two hid together before they saw the two transports traveling down the dirt road past them.
Inside one of the transports, Adora was sitting, her mind filled with excitement and nervousness, she was finally on a mission, outside the Fright Zone. She just sat there, not saying a word.
"You doing okay?" Catra asked her.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry. So what happens if something goes wrong?" Adora asked.
"Don't worry, this is a standard mission. Any fresh recruit could do it." Kyle said.
"Besides, Kyle and I are here in case anything does go wrong." Catra smiled, patting Adora's shoulder.
30 minutes passed before the transports arrived at Dryl. The Horde occupied the city due to it having a rich supply of Etherium. It was a desolate location, consisting of several small metal buildings and two large structures. One was a mine for the Etherium, and the other was a prison to provide a near-endless supply of miners. The transport stopped in front of a group of people in shackles and rags, Horde soldiers watching over them. The transports opened up, and Adora got a look at somewhere other than The Fright Zone. She was both amazed and a little disappointed, as Dryl didn't seem all that different from The Fright Zone. Soldiers started moving the shackled prisoners into the transports. Adora could see the looks on the prisoners' faces. She had to admit, something about the fear and dread in them bothered her.
"There are a lot of prisoners here. How often are these transfers done?" Adora asked Catra
"I think it's every couple weeks." Catra said
"And this place never runs out?"
"There are a lot of people who don't realize what the Horde's trying to do for this backward planet." Kyle said looking over the prisoners, "That's why we're taking them to The Fright Zone. There, they can be rehabilitated into proper Horde citizens."
Adora watched as the transports were filled up. She was still a little unsure, but what reason was there to not believe what Kyle said? Clearly, these were people who didn't realize the good the Horde was doing for Etheria and needed to be shown the truth. Once all the prisoners were loaded, Adora and the others went back in the transports as they began moving down the road back to The Fright Zone.
"So these arrows are going to do what exactly?" Glimmer asked
"As soon as I detonate them, they're going to release a foam that will get all over the transports and then quickly harden, trapping them in place. Then you just teleport in and get the prisoners out." Bow said placing several hi-tech arrows on the sides of the road.
"So we just hide and wait for them?"
"Precisely." Bow grinned as he hid behind a bush, Glimmer doing the same. The two waited in the bushes as time passed...quite slowly. 30 minutes of just sitting around behind some bushes felt like an eternity before they finally heard the transports approaching. Bow and Glimmer watched closely as the transports got closer and closer to the arrows. When the transports finally got close enough, Bow pressed a detonator, the arrows spraying out a green foam substance that quickly spread under and over the transports, causing them to stop in place before hardening.
"What's the problem?" Kyle asked.
"Sir, the transport is stuck!" said the pilot as they kept trying to drive the vehicle forward to no avail.
"Alright, you all stay in here, I'll take care of it." Kyle said to the others as he made his way out of the transport.
Glimmer was about to teleport into one of the transports before seeing the massive figure step out of the back. Her face went pale at the sight.
"They brought HIM!?" she gasped in shock. Force Captain Kyle was known and feared among many of the Horde's enemies, the Rebellion being no exception.
"Quick, now!" Bow said, knocking Glimmer out of her panicked state. She nodded and used her magic to teleport into the first transport.
"What the-?!" one of the guards inside exclaimed as the purple-haired woman appeared in a flash. The two Horde soldiers tried to attack her, but Glimmer hit one with a magic blast and used a magic flash to disorient the other. She then grabbed the long chain that connected all the prisoners’ shackles and teleported out, the captives being taken with her.
Meanwhile, Bow was observing the giant man standing outside the vehicle. Kyle was inspecting the hard material the transports were now stuck in. He then gave a hard punch to it, causing it to crack. He punched it again, cracking it further, and on the third punch he managed to break a piece off. He grabbed the edges caused by the break and started tearing off pieces of the material. Glimmer teleported to the second transport, being met by Adora and Catra.
"Hey!" Catra said before swinging her claws at Glimmer, the rebel dodging them. Glimmer dashed to the prisoners as Adora tried to tackle her, Glimmer's hand grabbing one of the chains before she teleported just as Adora tackled her. Catra looked around, Adora, the rebel, and the prisoners now missing.
"Adora? Adora!?" Catra shouted panicked before she ran out of the transport, "Kyle! Some rebel teleported in, they took Adora!"
"All soldiers, sweep the area!" Kyle ordered over the coms, the guards coming out of the transports and beginning their search.
Bow made a run to where they had planned Glimmer would take the prisoners. He made it to the edge of the forest to a grassland where he found the prisoners...as well as Glimmer wrestling with Adora.
"Bow, a little help!?" Glimmer shouted as she tried to stop the Horde soldier from strangling her.
"Right." He nodded, pulling out an arrow and firing it at Adora. While in mid-air, the tip of the arrow opened, two ropes bursting from it, a small one that wrapped around Adora's mouth and a larger one that wrapped around her body. She gave a muffled gasp and struggled as it pushed her off of Glimmer.
"Thanks. Who is that?" Glimmer said getting up.
"No idea, doesn't look like any Horde soldier I've ever seen." Bow said, "But hey, we came to rescue prisoners and not only have we done that, we even got a prisoner of our own. I'm counting that as a win." he smiled as Glimmer used her magic to blast the shackles off the prisoners.
"I guess so. Alright, let's take her for questioning." Glimmer said grabbing and lifting up Adora. Adora was still struggling with her tied-up state.
"There's a village not too far west of here, you'll find safety there." Glimmer told the freed prisoners before she and Bow began heading north. Adora tried her hardest to break free, but the rope was tight, she couldn't move her limbs. She felt so embarrassed, her first-ever mission and she was captured by rebels.
"Do you have any idea who I am!?" Adora growled
"Are we supposed to?" Bow asked
"I'm Hordak's daughter! So let me go now or else!"
"You? Hordak's daughter?" Glimmer asked skeptically, raising an eyebrow.
"What's with that tone?" Adora asked annoyed
"How do I put this mildly...you don't exactly have much of a family resemblance." Bow said
"So? I'm still his daughter and princess of the Horde."
"Sure you are~" Glimmer smirked as the two continued down their path.
"Man, I knew Horde soldiers had some delusions but nothing like that." Bow said
"Yeah. Well, let's hope she knows enough actual information when we get her back to base." Glimmer replied
"Hey, hey! Don't talk about me like I'm not here, you dirty rebels! Where are you taking me? Do you think I'm going to give you information on the Horde? Never gonna happen!" Adora continued ranting at the two rebels as they just started ignoring her.
Glimmer and Bow kept walking down the grassy field for a good hour. Adora took a moment to look at her surroundings. She had to admit, the sun shining on the grass, the clear blue sky, the herd of large, purple-furred creatures grazing on the field. It all looked so...peaceful. The three then entered another forest. As soon as she was brought into the forest, Adora felt something strange.
"What is this place?" Adora asked confused.
"The Whispering Woods. Most magical forest on Etheria." Bow said
Adora looked around, trying to find the source of the strange feeling. She didn't quite know what it was but it almost felt like something was watching her, and that was when she heard something.
"Adora..."
Adora quickly looked around, trying to see who spoke her name. She looked at her captors, who were just walking like nothing happened.
"Adora..."
Adora heard it again. What was that? Someone or something was saying her name but she didn't see anyone. She then realized this must be some kind of trick. Yes, that must be why the two rebels looked like they didn't hear it.
"Nice try, scumbags, but I'm not falling for it." Adora glared as she started struggling again even harder, shoving her head into Glimmer's repeatedly.
"Ah!" Glimmer said annoyed at Adora's struggling, "Let's take a break, Bow."
"Good idea." Bow said as the two stopped to rest, Glimmer placing Adora on the ground. Adora kept trying to escape her bonds when she heard the voice again.
"Adora..."
She looked around, but this time, she did see something. A humanoid shape, seemingly made entirely of light, standing there in the distance. Bow handed Glimmer a canteen before he saw Adora. She was staring into the forest, her eyes glowing white.
"Uh, Glimmer? Take a look." Bow said
Glimmer turned to look at their captive. She walked closer and waved her hand in front of Adora's eyes, but there was no reaction, she just kept staring.
"Bow...I think she's having a spiritual vision." Glimmer said, "Madame Razz has told me about them. Those who have a connection with magic spirits will sometimes have visions of their world."
"Well...what should we do?" Bow asked, unsure what to think about any of this. He'd heard of spiritual visions, but he'd never seen one in real life. Glimmer thought about it, Madame Razz told her to always trust someone who has a spiritual vision but...this was a Horde soldier experiencing one.
"I...We'll untie her and follow her." Glimmer ultimately decided, "but have another trap arrow ready if she tries anything funny."
"Gotcha." Bow nodded
Glimmer, with hesitation, untied the ropes restraining Adora. As soon as she did so, Adora got up and began walking in the direction she was staring. Glimmer and Bow looked at each other unsure before following her. Up in a nearby tree, a green vulture-like bird was watching them.
"Adora...come." the figure said as they floated further from her. Adora didn't know why, but something about this figure made her feel...at ease. Like she could trust this strange being she'd never seen before. She continued walking toward the figure as it led her through the forest. She kept following the figure through the woods until they reached a small clearing in the threes. A large stone stood in the middle of the clearing. Embedded in the stone was a sword with an elegant design and a gemstone near the handle.
"Pick up the sword, Adora." said the figure, "Pick up the sword and achieve your destiny."
"Who...who are you?" Adora asked
"All will be answered in time. But first, you must wield The Sword of Protection."
Adora was hesitant, but much like when she heard the being's voice, for reasons even she did not understand yet, she trusted it. She slowly walked towards the sword and grabbed it by the handle.
"Alright...now what?" Adora asked confused.
"Pull the sword from the stone, raise it in the air, and then proclaim the enchanted words. For the Honor of Grayskull. Shout it out to very skies above." the being instructed.
Adora took a deep breath, she couldn't believe she was doing this but this whole situation was already very weird. She pulled the sword from the stone with ease and raised it up to the sky.
"For the Honor of Grayskull!" she yelled out. The gem on the sword began to glow with a bright light. Adora briefly covered her eyes before she saw the light enveloping her whole body. The light changed her outfit, the black and gray becoming angelic white and gold, her clawed gloves becoming gold bracelets, the red gem on her chest turning blue, and a gold tiara forming on her head. Glimmer and Bow stared in awe at what was happening before them.
"Awaken, Warrior of Light. Awaken, Princess of Power. Awaken, She-ra!" the mysterious being declared as Adora opened her now glistening eyes.

Chapter 3: The Sword of Protection Part 3
Bow and Glimmer were staring in awe at the figure now standing in front of them. The Horde soldier they had just captured was now an 8-foot tall woman with a bright radiant aura around her. Her white skirt and red cape flowed in the wind. The new warrior opened her eyes as the aura began to fade. She glanced around...before she looked down at herself.
"WHAT?! Where am I?! What's going on?! What am I wearing?! Why am I taller?! WHAT?!" Adora shouted worried and confused.
"Is...is that what I think it is?" Bow asked as he stared at the giant warrior woman.
"That...that's She-ra. THE She-ra." Glimmer said in disbelief, carefully approaching her.
"Uh...Hi?" Glimmer asked her
"Huh? You! Did you two have something to do with this? You and your rebel tricks?" Adora glared at them.
"Hey, we're just as confused as you." Bow said
"What even happened to me? I'm tall, my outfit's changed, I'm..." she said before looking at the muscles on her arms "Actually I kind of like these." she said feeling the muscles. Her body then was engulfed in pure light once again, the silhouette shrank back down to Adora's initial height, the light left her and she returned to back to normal. Adora looked at herself and sighed in relief that she was back to normal...only for her to realize that she was now completely naked. She yelped in shock and quickly tried to cover herself with her arms. Glimmer blushed as she and Bow looked away.
"What happened to my clothes!?" Adora shouted.
"Like I said, we’re just as confused as you." Bow said
"Uh...here." Glimmer said unhooking her cape from her shoulders. "Use this." she slowly walked closer to Adora while awkwardly trying to avoid looking at her. She handed the cape to her, Adora grabbed it and quickly wrapped it around her chest.
"Um...do you have anything else? This doesn't exactly cover all of me." Adora said, her face completely red from embarrassment.
"Uh, Bow? Could you maybe lend her your cape?" Glimmer asked.
"Really? Mine too?" Bow sighed as he unhooked his cape and handed it to Adora, The blonde used it to cover up her lower area.
"Okay so...what now?" Bow asked
"I say we take her and that sword to Madame Razz." Glimmer suggested
"You're kidding, right? There is no way I’m letting you guys take me anywhere again after everything that just happened." Adora said sternly. Glimmer and Bow looked at each other.
Glimmer and Bow arrived at a small hut in The Whispering Woods, Glimmer carrying the sword while Bow was carrying Adora, who was tied up again, this time with a gag around her mouth. Glimmer walked to the door of the hut and knocked.
"Hello? Madame Razz?" Glimmer called out as she knocked on the door.
"Oh, just a minute, I'll be right there." said a voice behind the door before a very loud crash was heard, followed by an explosion. The door opened, and a cloud of black smoke poured out. A purple-skinned woman wearing a raggedy red top and skirt emerged, her face and the goggles she was wearing were covered in black soot. She coughed some out and took the goggles off.
"Sorry about that, I was makin' dinner." she said in a jovial tone as she cleaned the soot off. "Glimmer, Bow! Nice to see ya! What can I do for ya?"
"Well, Bow and I captured this Horde soldier, when suddenly she started having a spiritual experience, then she grabbed this sword and she just transformed." Glimmer said showing Madame Razz the sword.
Madame Razz stared at the sword, "She transformed with it?"
"Yeah, so we decided to bring her to yo-"
"What's her name?" Madame Razz interrupted
"What?" Glimmer asked confused before Razz grabbed her shoulders and got close to her face.
"Her name! What's the girl's name?!" Madame Razz asked before she quickly went to the tied-up Adora and snapped her fingers, the mouth gag on Adora poofing away into smoke. "What's your name, dear?"
"Huh? What? Why do you want to know my name?" Adora asked skeptically.
"Because you were able to use the power of that sword, now tell me your name."
"Uh...Adora?" Adora said
Razz was silent for a few seconds "Oh deary my...bring her in, bring her in." She said motioning them all to enter her house.
"You're telling me that your name's Adora and you managed to unlock the power of the Sword of Protection?" Razz asked Adora.
"Uh...I mean, I guess? Please tell me I'm not the only one really confused right now." Adora said
"Allow me to show ya." Razz said before she started casting a spell over a bubbling cauldron. A large stack of smoke came out of the cauldron, several images formed within in it.
"There's a legend, older than even me, that a warrior named Adora would one day unlock the magic of the Sword of Protection. Becoming She-ra, the Princess of Power, and with that power, she would save the universe itself." Madame Razz said as the smoke formed images that visualized what she said. "In other words, if what I'm hearin' is true, you're a big deal, Adora."
"Okay, okay, hold up." Adora said, "You're telling me that I'm...what? Some legendary hero destined to save the universe? How gullible do you rebels think I am?"
"I know it sounds crazy, but I dunno what to tell ya. If ya transformed into She-ra, you're She-ra." Razz said
"This is ridiculous, you rebels are obviously just trying to trick me into joining you. I'm not falling for that. The only destiny I have is freeing Etheria from you criminals." Adora said
"Hold on, WE'RE the criminals? You're part of the empire oppressing our planet." Glimmer said
"Oppressing? The Horde is bringing order to Etheria. You rebels just want to bring it back to the savage state it was in before."
"Is THAT what they told you?" Bow asked, "Etheria was doing just fine until The Horde arrived. Why do you think people call you guys the EVIL Horde?"
"Who calls us that?!" Adora asked
"Everybody, dear. Literally everybody." Razz said
"The Horde has terrorized the people of Etheria for centuries." Glimmer said
"No, no, you're lying, The Horde’s mission is keeping the peace and stopping you rebels from making things worse." Adora said
"Oh yeah? Madame Razz, can you teleport us to Kah?" Glimmer asked
"Well yes, but why do ya want to go there?" Razz asked
"To show Adora here the 'peacekeeping' The Horde does." Glimmer said.
Madame Razz teleported them all to the village of Kah. The village that, only hours ago, was visited by Hordak and his soldiers. Adora looked around, the village was raised, and several buildings were in smoldering ruins. Bow untied Adora and she stood up, looking around at the carnage. It wasn't the ruins that bothered her, nor the burnt remains of buildings...what bothered and horrified her were the bodies that littered the area.
"Do you see this? This is what The Horde does. These were innocent people and they killed them all." Glimmer said to Adora
"No, that's impossible, the...The Horde would never do this." Adora said in denial as the three walked through the decimated village, finding even more dead bodies.
"You sure about that?" Razz said, "Cause funny thing about magic, it can let ya see into the past." she said before casting a spell at a building with a burst open door. Magical constructs appear of a man in front of the door, several Horde soldiers, and Force Captain Kyle. Adora’s eyes went wide as she realized Razz was casting a spell she had seen her mother use a few times before.
"I'm missing something very important to me to be here, so I'm going to give you two options. Option one is surrendering, stepping aside, and letting us arrest everyone you got in behind that door. Option two is resisting us and we slaughter everyone behind that door. Option one is gonna take less time so I'm hoping you got a workin' brain." Kyle said as he towered over the man.
"There's nobody in here. I'm the last one in my village...and I'll die before I let The Horde control me." the man said in defiance. Kyle chuckled exasperated and grabbed the man by the head with one hand before lifting him up.
"Suit yourself." Kyle said before clenching his hand on the man's head, Adora watching the recreation of the man's head being crushed. "Found anyone else?" he asked a soldier
"No sir, that building is the only one left unsearched." the soldier replied
"Good." Kyle said tossing away the man's lifeless body and walking to a well to wash the blood off his hand, "Go in there and make sure nothing's left alive so we can get out of here. I don't want to miss too much of Adora's party."
One soldier placed a small device on the door and stepped back, the device exploding and blowing open the door. The soldiers poured into the building and opened fire. Adora stared at the recreation in horror, she ran into the building, and as the vision faded away, she saw what was inside. The bodies of women and children were scattered across the floor. Adora covered her mouth in disgust and ran outside, throwing up at the sight.
"That...that has to be fake. PLEASE tell me that was fake." Adora shouted, tears welling in her eyes.
"I wish it was, dear." Madame Razz said, "Time-seeing magic is never wrong."
Adora was at a loss for words. Her whole life, she had been told that The Horde were trying to bring order to Etheria but...where was the order in slaughtering a whole village? In crushing an innocent man's head? In opening fire on women and children?
"Wow, she...she really didn't know what The Horde really does?" Bow asked
"It's hittin' her hard. Might be best if you two talk to her, ya need me for anything else?" Razz asked
"No, we're fine. Thank you, Madame Razz." Glimmer said, even she had to admit that seeing Adora's reaction to the carnage was giving her second thoughts on how to go about this. The two walked closer to Adora, who was on her knees at this point, as Razz teleported away.
"Um...hey, are you o-" Bow began to ask
"No. I'm not okay." Adora said, "In the span of an hour, I was captured, taken to the middle of nowhere, transformed into a weird muscle woman, got told that I'm some hero of legend, watched a friend of mine crush someone's head, and found out that the empire that I have dreamed to be a part of my whole life is actually this tyrannical force that has no problem gunning down innocent people. I'm FAR from being okay."
"The Horde is ruthless. The Rebellion is simply trying to free Etheria, to stop stuff like this from happening." Glimmer said, "I know this is a lot to take in, but maybe we can help you. You saw how evil The Horde really is, and I may not understand the magic in this Sword of Protection, but I know it chose you and that must have been for a reason."
"So what, I'm supposed to take up that magic sword and wage war on my friends and family?" Adora said
"I'm saying you can make a difference on Etheria for the better. You can-" Glimmer said before she was hit in the back with a small device, red electricity engulfing her and knocking her out. Bow and Adora looked at Glimmer in shock before several transports arrived shining down their searchlights onto the trio. Horde soldiers poured out from amongst the trees and aimed their guns at them, completely surrounding them. Bow had no choice but to surrender as a soldier grabbed him and another picked up Glimmer and the sword.
"Adora!" Catra's voice called out, the cat girl pushing several soldiers out of the way before running to Adora, hugging her tightly. "I was so worried about you!"
"Catra? H-how did you find me?" Adora asked confused and still shaken.
"Shadow Weaver told me she found you- wait...where are your clothes?" Catra asked, Adora still only covering her body with the two capes. "Did those Rebels do anything to you?!" Catra asked worried as she grabbed her lover's shoulders
"No! No, they didn't do anything to me." Adora said, "I uh...I just lost them."
"Alright, let's just get you back home." Catra said helping Adora up and holding her close.
"Adora, there you are. You holding up?" Kyle asked as he approached the two girls. Adora stared at Kyle, she couldn't say anything to him, still thinking back to what she saw him do.
"Hey, Adora, you okay?" Catra asked as she put a hand on her cheek.
"She looks pretty shaken up, better have a medic look at her when you get back." Kyle said
"Yeah, good idea."
"Guess these two rebels are who captured her, what do you think we should do with them?" Kyle asked
"I say kill them right here for what they did to Adora." Catra growled as she glared at the two rebels.
"No..." Adora said, catching everyone off guard "T-take them back to the Fright Zone. They...they may have information we could use."
"Good idea, Adora. Alright boys, load'em up and let's head home." Kyle said as he patted Adora on the shoulder, the contact sending a cold shiver down her spine. Catra brought Adora inside one of the transports.
"Are you sure they didn't do anything horrible to you? It seems weird you just lost that suit." Catra said
"Yes, I'm sure, Catra. Let's...let's just go home." Adora said leaning into Catra.
"Sure thing, hon." Catra smiled as she embraced her, oblivious to the look of horror on Adora’s face.

Chapter 4: The Sword of Protection: Part 4
Hours had passed since Adora was rescued by The Horde. She was sitting on her bed, alone with her thoughts as she gazed into the night sky. She managed to get back into her normal clothes, so that was good at least. However, she was still far from alright, still thinking about the images she saw. She replayed the memory over and over in her head, trying to find some way of convincing herself it was a rebel trick. Every single replay came to the same conclusion, those rebels were telling her the truth.
"Oh Adora~" Catra's voice called out to her. Adora turned her head to see Catra standing in the doorway, leaning against the side. She was wearing a red-colored lingerie.
"Figured I'd give you my birthday present to you to make you feel better." she said in a seductive tone as she walked over to Adora. On any other day, Adora seeing her girlfriend like that would make her happy, but today her face just had a blank expression. She had too much on her mind right now to even realize what was going on.
"Uh...Adora?" Catra said sitting next to her on the bed, "Are you okay?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, yeah. I'm fine." Adora said.
"You sure? Cause I just walked in your room wearing this and you responded with...nothing." Catra said, "Are you sure you're fine? You know you can tell me anything."
"I'm sorry, I just...a lot happened today and I'm just trying to get everything together." Adora said. Catra sighed and placed her hand on the side of Adora's face, smiling at her.
"I understand, hon. We can do this another time." she said as she got up and started walking out, "But seriously if you need to talk to me, I'm always here for you."
"I know, Catra. Thanks, love you." Adora nodded.
"Love you too, Adora." Catra smiled before leaving the room. Adora sighed and changed into her white nightgown before lying down on her bed. She then saw a shadow appear in her room, Shadow Weaver arriving through it.
"Hello, Adora. I heard about what happened." Shadow Weaver said
"I'm sorry, mom. I just...I don't even know what to say."
"There's no need to be sorry, Adora." Shadow Weaver soothed her, putting her hand on Adora's shoulder, "It's my fault for keeping you so sheltered in The Fright Zone. You weren't prepared for the more... unpleasant things The Horde has to do in this war against the Rebellion. That is why I had Styrax watching you on your entire journey."
"I'm just struggling to figure out...why? Why did The Horde wipe out that village? Kill everyone in it?" Adora asked her mother
"They were aiding the Rebellion, Adora. Everyone in that village was a Rebel ally, they would even resort to using children for their cause. I know it is hard to understand at first, but in time you will see what The Horde does, it does for the greater good." Shadow Weaver said comforting her daughter. Adora still didn't know what to say, but she figured it would be better to just agree for now and think about it more in the morning.
"Thanks, mom."
"Get some rest, Dear. You've had quite a long day." Shadow Weaver said before teleporting away. Adora sighed and fell asleep on her bed.
Loud screams of agony echoed through the Frightzone’s prison block. The source of those screams was Glimmer, who was being electrocuted by a man with electric gloves. She was suspended in mid-air by mechanical restraints on her wrists and ankles, the small device on her back she was shot with earlier keeping her from using her magic.
"You ready to talk now?" the man asked, his voice sounding digitized through his face mask. Glimmer's only response was spitting in his face.
"Still got some fight in you, huh? No problem there, more fun for me." the man said before the electricity of his gloves charged up and gave Glimmer another shock. Glimmer screamed in pain once again, the electricity flowing all throughout her body. The door to the room opened, and Kyle walked through.
"Jolt, go see the other prisoner. I got this one." Kyle said
"Sure thing, sir. And good luck, this one's stubborn." Jolt chuckled before leaving the room.
"So, Princess Glimmer of Brightmoon. Gotta admit, I wasn't expecting to capture you of all people on Adora’s first mission." Kyle chuckled. He walked up to Glimmer and crouched low enough for their faces to be on the same level. "I take it you've heard of me?"
"Everyone in the Rebellion knows who you are." Glimmer hissed in disgust.
"Good. I do try to make an impression on my enemies." Kyle said, "I will say that I'm impressed. Most I've seen a prisoner last with Jolt before talking was 20 minutes, and you lasted well over an hour without a peep."
"I'm never telling you anything." Glimmer sneered, "Brightmoon and The Rebellion WILL free Etheria from your tyranny." she said defiantly. Kyle went ominously quiet in response.
"Tell me, Princess, you ever heard of a place called the Crimson Wastes?" he asked, "I imagine not, it's a place most nobles like you pretend doesn't exist. I was born there, to a father I never knew and a mother enslaved by a gang of Crimson Waste raiders. I spent my whole life working in the mines, digging for Etherium so my masters could trade it for weapons and booze, while they fed us scraps."
Kyle then grabbed her by the hair and lifted her head up, the glowing yellow lights of his eyes staring directly into hers.
"My mother used to tell me about Brightmoon. She lived there before I was born. The village she came from was near the border between Brightmoon and the Crimson Wastes. When the village got raided and everyone enslaved, there was nobody to save them. My mother would tell me every night that Brightmoon would rescue us. Years and years went by and she never gave up hope. She was even waiting for Brightmoon when she was lying there sick, starved, and dying. I never even got to be there in her last moments, because my masters just had us continue working. You rebels claim that you care for the people of Etheria, but where were you when my mother lay dying, praying for you to come rescue her? Where were you when me and dozens of other children were working themselves to death? Where are you when the people actually need you?" Kyle asked Glimmer, "Since then, I waited and waited, day after day, for something to put my suffering to an end. For something to give me what I wanted: freedom, identity, and revenge." Kyle said letting go of Glimmer's head.
"You know what finally gave me those things? It was The Horde. They saw the Etherium in those mines and came down on the raiders. You should have seen it, Princess. Fire rained down on the scum of the wastes like a divine storm. It was beautiful. They offered any surviving slaves to join them, and it was then that I knew what my purpose was. To help The Horde bring order to Etheria, order that kingdoms like Brightmoon failed to deliver." Kyle said before pulling out a plasma knife and placing it under Glimmer's chin. "And I won't stop until that order is brought to all of Etheria and every trace of scum like you is wiped out." He said as he placed the blade on Glimmer's back and pressed a button on the handle, the blade growing and starting to burn Glimmer's skin.
Adora found herself in a black void. She looked around the area confused until she saw the magic sword embedded in the ground.
"Adora." Said the same mysterious voice she heard earlier, the same figure of light appeared before her.
"Who...who are you?" Adora asked.
"I have gone by many names. However, you may know me as Light Hope." the figure said to her
"Look, uh, Light Hope, is what they said about me true? Am I really this legendary warrior of light?"
"That is for you to decide, Adora. Are you truly the Princess of Power?" Light Hope asked.
"I...I don't know. The Horde was my entire life but now I'm supposed to leave my family and friends behind to fight against it? I know what I saw was wrong, that I should stand against it. But, if it means turning my back on all of them? I don’t know if I can do it." Adora said.
“What you saw was only a small taste of The Horde’s evil.” Light Hope said before placing his hand on Adora’s head. Her mind was filled with visions, the scenes unfurling before her.
“The Horde has twisted Etheria. Enslaving many of its people.” Light Hope said as Adora saw rebels being dragged along, similar to what she saw in Dryl. One prisoner tried to fight back, but one soldier simply hit the prisoner with the back of their gun. Another soldier pulled out a laser pistol and placed it against the back of the prisoner’s head, before pulling the trigger, killing them.
“Those who rebel are either killed or taken to The Fright Zone, where wraiths warp their minds to be loyal soldiers to The Horde.” Light Hope explained as Adora saw a Horde wraith casting a spell, using their dark magic to warp a prisoner’s mind. Adora immediately thought back to her first mission, the prisoners, their ‘rehabilitation’, this was all that it was. People who fought against The Horde being mind-controlled into fighting and dying for it.
“The Horde isn’t helping Etheria. That was all a lie. My entire life has been a lie...” Adora said, tears running down her face. What was once doubt was now becoming clear in her mind.
"The path of your life is ultimately your decision. There is good in your heart, Adora. You know what you saw The Horde do to that village was against your nature. Only in your heart can you see what you should do." Light Hope said to her.
Adora woke up in her bed. She got up and rubbed her head. "Only...in my heart...can I see what I should do." She repeated to herself as she looked out the window.
Later, in The Fright Zone's science facility, two Horde scientists were studying the magic sword.
"Any luck?" one asked the other
"Nope, nothing's even reading on the computers." the other replied
The first one sighed, "Well, it's getting late, might as well call it a day and try again in the morning."
"Works for me." the other one agreed as the two walked out, closing and locking the door. Several minutes after they left, Adora, back in her normal clothes, snuck down the corridor over to the door. She typed a code into the electronic lock opening the door. One of the benefits of being the Princess of The Horde was that she had access to all areas of The Fright Zone. She entered the room and walked to the sword. She looked at it hesitantly. She loved her life in The Horde, and she loved her family and her friends...but she couldn't let what she saw just pass by. She dreamed of saving Etheria from the Rebellion, but it was clear to her now that she had to save it from The Horde. She took a deep breath and grabbed the sword before raising it up in the air and declaring the words "For the Honor of Grayskull!"
At the prison, Glimmer was alone in her cell, feeling the burn marks on her back.
"Glimmer? Are you there?" asked Bow's voice.
"…Bow? Where are you?" Glimmer asked, looking around.
"Judging from the direction your voice is coming from, I'm in the cell to your right. Are you alright?" Bow asked
Glimmer sighed "Yeah...I'm fine. My back hurts, my wrists hurt...everything hurts." Glimmer said
"I know the feeling. I didn't tell them anything, you?"
"No. Any plan on escaping?" Glimmer asked.
"I looked everywhere in my cell, no weak spots or anything."
"Great..." Glimmer said burying her face in her hands, "This is my fault, we should have just brought that girl to Brightmoon. But no, I decided we take her to Madame Razz."
"Hey, hey, this isn't your fault, Glimmer." Bow said, "You had no idea this could happen."
"Well now we're stuck here...I'm scared, Bow." Glimmer sighed.
"I am too. But we can't just give up. I promise, Glimmer, we'll find a way out of here." Bow said trying to comfort Glimmer.
Suddenly, they heard a loud crash, followed by an alarm. Several Horde guards ran past the cells and opened fire on something before a desk was thrown at them. Glimmer and Bow went to the doors of their cells to find out what was going on, before Glimmer's cell door was suddenly torn open. Glimmer looked in shock and awe as She-ra emerged standing in the doorframe.
"Come on, we're getting out of here." She-ra said before running to Bow's cell and tearing the door open as well. She then smashed the door to the room which held items confiscated from prisoners and tossed Bow his bow and his quiver.
"Adora…you saved us." Bow said
"You were right, The Horde is evil, and I'm done helping them." She-ra said before a door opened behind her, she turned around and saw Kyle standing in the doorframe, even with her height as She-ra, Kyle was still looking down at her.
"You've gotten a lot farther than you should have, whoever you are." Kyle said, "But then, you haven't met Force Captain Kyle either. Your ride's over, Rebel. Time to die."
"Go free the other prisoners, I'll hold him off." She-ra said readying herself, she had to admit that she felt nervous and awkward about fighting Kyle. She had regarded him as a friend for most of her life, and she knew very well what he was capable of. Bow and Glimmer ran to the other cells as Kyle looked at She-ra
"You try all you want, Rebel. You and your friends ain't leaving here alive." Kyle said before hitting She-ra with the back of his fist, slamming her into a wall. He punched at her, and she caught the fist with both of her hands. Even with the immense strength she now had, she was struggling to hold the fist back. She-ra was able to push him away far enough to dodge under his arm and grab her sword. She swung it at Kyle's neck, cutting some of the circuitry on his armor. Kyle grunted and grabbed Adora by the neck, throwing her down the prison block right past Glimmer and Bow. Bow fired an arrow at Kyle...only for it to bounce off his mask. She-ra punched a hole through the wall and tore a chunk off before throwing it at Kyle, but the giant was able to swat the debris away before he began to charge towards her.
"Bow, the magic blocker, quick!" Glimmer said. Bow looked at the device on her back and pulled out an arrow. He pressed a button on it and a small laser shot from the tip and quickly cut the device, making it fall off of Glimmer's back. Glimmer grabbed Bow and teleported them both out of Kyle’s way as he charged towards She-ra, tackling her through the wall itself and sending them falling to the ground outside. Glimmer and Bow teleported back in and ran to the floor's control room. Bow flipped a switch, causing all the cells to open, the prisoners pouring out.
Outside, Kyle started punching She-ra into the ground before she grabbed her sword and stabbed it into Kyle's arm. Kyle slammed his foot down on her chest, before rising up and feeling the blood on his arm.
"Heh, I'm impressed, can't remember the last time anyone's made me bleed." Kyle said
As Bow and Glimmer worked on teleporting the prisoners out, Bow saw Kyle beating on She-ra. He aimed an arrow at a nearby building and fired, the arrow detonating and causing a chunk of the building to fall before Glimmer teleported him out.
She-ra saw the falling piece of the building and lifted up Kyle's foot. She pushed hard enough to make Kyle stumble a bit as she grabbed her sword and jumped out of the way right as the debris fell onto the giant. She-ra panted and made a run for the stables. She went to Spirit's stall, the horse panicking as he saw the ‘stranger’ approach.
"Spirit, Spirit! It's me, Adora." She-ra tried comforting the horse, the sound of her voice causing Spirit to calm down. "Alright, now let's get out of here." She said opening the stall and getting ready to mount the horse, before Catra pounced on her.
"HA! Gotcha, Rebel!" Catra said holding onto She-ra. She-ra grabbed Catra and managed to pry her off.
"Catra, please, don't fight me!" She-ra tried to reason with her.
"Why would I not fight you, rebel scumbag?" Catra said trying to claw at her before she saw She-ra glow and transform back into Adora.
"Because it's me!" Adora said.
"A...Adora?" Catra said as she stared wide-eyed at Adora.
"Catra, I'm leaving The Horde and joining the Rebellion. I've seen what The Horde actually is, and I can't follow them anymore." Adora told her.
"What? What are you talking about?"
"The Horde is evil, Catra. I've seen it myself. Please go with me and we can free Etheria from them." Adora said.
Catra shook her head in disbelief, "What did those Rebels do to you? Do you hear yourself right now?"
"Catra, please. I can't serve The Horde anymore but this doesn't have to be the end for us." Adora said, grabbing Catra's hands, "I love you. And I want you to see the truth too. So please, come with me."
Catra looked at Adora at a loss for words. She then shook her head and yanked her hands away from Adora's. "No, no this is wrong! There's something wrong with you, Adora. I'm not letting you leave."
Adora looked down, saddened. "I'm sorry, Catra..." she said before whistling. Spirit came running towards them. Adora jumped up and got on Spirit as Catra was knocked down by the horse. She began ridding towards the exit of The Fright Zone, tears in her eyes. Catra stared as she did, tears forming in her eyes as well. Adora rode Spirit past the inner defenses and out the front gates, she stayed as Adora so the guards wouldn't attack her on sight. She looked back at The Fright Zone as Spirit galloped further away. She closed her eyes and looked down. She stood by her decision to leave The Horde, but she still felt a great sadness from what she was leaving behind.
"Do you see her?" Glimmer asked Bow as Bow tried to see Adora.
"No, not yet."
"Dammit. I'm teleporting back there." Glimmer said before groaning in pain.
"No, Glimmer, it took a lot out of you to teleport us out here." Bow said before he saw Adora approaching them. "There she is!"
Adora stopped in front of the two rebels.
"Alright, let’s go." She said with a determined look, though Glimmer could see the sadness in her eyes. Deciding not to press the issue for now, she nodded, and her and Bow got on the horse as well. The trio rode off on Spirit as alarms and the engines of patrol crafts buzzed behind them.
At The Fright Zone, Catra was storming down the halls past the panicking soldiers, when she saw Zed running towards her.
"Catra, I heard the alarm, what's going on?!" he asked her.
"Adora's gone." she said bluntly.
"W-what? What do you mean she's gone?" Zed asked in disbelief.
"She betrayed us, Zed. She left us to join the Rebellion. We meant that little to her." Catra gritted her teeth in anger before storming off. Zed simply stood there, his expression one of shock about what he just heard. Catra walked into Shadow Weaver's room.
"Adora left The Horde." Catra said
"I know." Shadow Weaver replied.
"What? You know?" Catra asked confused
"Of course I do. And Hordak does as well."
"Which is why I'm assigning you and Shadow Weaver on a specific assignment." Hordak said as he emerged from the shadows.
"The assignment is a simple one. Capture Adora and bring her back here."

Chapter 5: The Castle
Adora, Glimmer and Bow were making their way through the forests. They were mostly silent; a whole night had passed since they escaped the Fright Zone, and the sun was beginning to rise. The three rode on top of Spirit, thankful that the large and strong horse was able to carry all of them.
"So, where exactly are we going?" Adora asked, "Spirit's getting tired."
"Not much further. Just a little...wait, I think I see it." Bow said, he and Glimmer dismounted the horse and ran off, Adora following behind while guiding Spirit by the bridles. She followed them to an open area of forest, and froze in place when she saw the massive structure in the middle of the clearing. It was a castle, a gigantic and elegant castle. Adora had never seen such an ornate building in her life. The pink marble, the gold decorations, and a glistening rainbow bridge between them and the front gate. It was almost overwhelming.
"What...what is this place?" Adora asked
"Castle Brightmoon," Glimmer said, "Ever since the Horde came to Etheria, it's been the main base of The Great Rebellion."
Adora was amazed, she had heard of Brightmoon but never imagined it looking like this. The group walked across the bridge to the front gates.
"Glimmer!" yelled a voice; a woman with large angelic wings flew down to them with a worried look as she landed and hugged Glimmer tightly. Adora pieced together who this woman had to be, Angella, rebellion leader and queen of Brightmoon.
"Mom!" Glimmer smiled, hugging Angella back.
"I had heard you were captured, I was so worried about you!" Glimmer's mother said, concern audible in her voice.
"I'm fine, Mom. Bow and I managed to escape thanks to Adora here." Glimmer said, gesturing towards Adora, who was standing there rather awkwardly with Spirit.
"Um...hi there. I'm Adora. Your daughter convinced me to leave the Horde and join the Rebellion." Adora said, feeling nervous given how she had been part of the greatest enemy of the Rebels just earlier today, and now she was standing in front of the Rebel leader. It did not help that she was gorgeous, with her majestic wings and beautiful starlight hair.
"Is that so?" Angella asked, raising an eyebrow at this stranger.
"Yeah, and that's not all. Watch," Glimmer said excitedly as she ran next to Adora, "Okay, Adora, do the thing."
"Uh...the thing?" Adora asked confused.
"You know, with the sword." Glimmer said, pointing at the weapon.
"Oh right, yeah, the sword. Alright." Adora said before clearing her throat and lifting up the sword. "For the Honor of Grayskull!" she shouted before the sword transformed her into She-ra. Angella looked on in amazement at the Princess of Power.
"You... you're She-ra..." Angella said in shock and awe
"Yep... I'm She-ra. I only really found out yesterday. I know about the legends surrounding me and...can't really promise I'll live up to whatever they say about me, but I can assure you that I will fight alongside the Rebellion to free Etheria." She-ra said. She still wasn't sure about all this She-ra stuff, but what she was sure of was freeing Etheria from the Horde's tyranny.
"Well...if what you say is true, then welcome to Brightmoon." Angella smiled. Adora could tell the queen still had her doubts about her, but she at least seemed willing to give her a chance. No doubt the idea of the legends of She-ra coming true contributed to that. It would mean a lot, not just for The Rebellion, but also the people of Etheria as a whole.
"I'll show her a room." Glimmer said, leading Adora towards the entrance. As the two walked by, Angella noticed the burn mark on Glimmer's back.
"Glimmer, what happened to you?" Angella gasped, reaching out to brush Glimmer's hair aside.
"It's nothing, mom. Don't worry about it. Doesn't even hurt much anymore." Glimmer waved it off as she guided Adora into the castle. Angella sighed and watched her daughter bring this warrior of legend into Castle Brightmoon.
In Shadow Weaver’s lair in the Frightzone, Catra was thinking over the mission Hordak had given her while Shadow Weaver tended to a bubbling cauldron.
"So am I getting a squad or anything to track down Adora?" Catra asked Shadow Weaver
"You may if you wish, but who is part of your squad is your responsibility. So I'd suggest you choose well." Shadow Weaver replied, Catra groaned and walked out. She started thinking of potential members for her team.
"Hey Catra, have you seen, Zed? Nobody's seen him all morning." said Lonnie as she passed Catra.
"I don't know, last time I saw him he was outside his room, maybe check there." Catra brushed Lonnie off as she kept walking. She then got an idea of who to recruit first.
"So, did you hear about Adora? Hard to believe someone like her would leave, huh?" asked Grizzlor, the large bear man leaning on counter that Leech was sitting at.
"Can't really say I expected that. What do you think is going to happen now?" Leech said.
"Dunno."
"You not knowing something. What a shock." Leech said sarcastically.
"Oh whatever, man. You asked." Grizzlor huffed annoyed.
"Grizzlor, Leech. Been looking for you." Catra said, walking up to the two, "Hordak and Shadow Weaver want me to find and capture Adora. So I'm organizing a squad that you two are joining."
"Hmm...alright, I'll join." Leech said.
"If he's joining, so am I." Grizzlor said.
"Figured you would say, you copycat."
"I'm not copying." Grizzlor said.
"Then get to the back of the line."
"You're cute, but I ain't budging. You'll have to fight me for my spot." Grizzlor smirked before he and Leech aggressively pressed their heads against each other.
"I have no problem with that." Leech smirked.
"Okay, glad we got that settled." Catra said brushing off the two. Grizzlor and Leech's behavior towards each other was just expected by everyone else.
Catra made her way to Mantenna's room. The door opened, and she walked by several photos of Mantenna next to dead enemies on the wall. He liked to scan pictures of his favorite kills. Catra had to admit that some of these photos creeped her out. She then saw Mantenna tending to a flower garden in his quarters. Mantenna was someone who not many people in the Fright Zone got; he seemed to be a wild card if he would be sadistic and terrifying or calm and rather pleasant to talk to.
"Oh, hello Catra. What can I do for you?" Mantenna asked
"I'm building a squad to capture Adora and bring her back. Are you in?"
"Hmm...depends; what kind of capture are we talking about here?" Mantenna said, watering his flowers.
"I'd say the violent kind. She's joined the rebels, so there's probably gonna be a decent amount of death and violence. As long as Adora is taken in alive, we’ve got free reign." Catra replied.
"Then I'm in."
Catra smiled and walked out of the room, bumping into Scorpia's muscled body.
"Hey Catra! I heard you were making your own squad. That sounds really cool! Can I join?" Scorpia asked excited.
"Uh, I mean, I dunno..." Catra said, she had nothing against Scorpia, but sometimes how she acted could be...questionable, "...I mean, you could be useful b-" Before Catra could finish, Scorpia hugged her tightly, squeezing the air out of her lungs.
"Aw, thanks! I can't wait to go on missions with you! We've never really had a chance to hang out together, so this will be great!" Scorpia smiled, and Catra simply sighed, wondering if Kyle was available instead.
Elsewhere in the Fright Zone, Horde maintenance workers were cleaning up the mess that Adora had made hours before, trying to clear the debris from the collapsed tower off the ground. One of the workers was ready to plant an explosive charge to remove a chunk of metal wall, when a loud banging was heard. The noise continued until a significant dent was made into the wall, the startled worker stumbling back. The dent got bigger and bigger, before a giant fist punched a hole through the debris. Force Captain Kyle brought down the wall as he walked out of the wreckage, some scratches and dents in his armor, one of the eye lenses on his helmet cracked.
"F-Force Captain Kyle, are you okay, sir?" the worker asked.
"I'm fine." Kyle said calmly as he walked away from the scene, "I just need a medic." he said, downplaying the fact he had just punched his way out from underneath a collapsed guard tower.
Adora followed Glimmer around the castle, a look of amazement on her face. She'd been taught that Etheria was some lawless wasteland before The Horde showed up; now, she was walking through the halls of the most pristine building she had ever seen.
"Okay, here's your room." Glimmer said, showing Adora the room. Adora was in awe at the place. The huge fluffy bed, the long curtains, the large round window. Even as the princess of the Horde, her room back at the Frightzone was nothing like this. "The bathroom is to the right, if you need anything else, just let us know."
"Wow...I...thank you." Adora said
"No problem. A lot happened last night, so I understand if you'd like some rest. We can bring you up to speed about the Rebellion over dinner this evening." Glimmer said before leaving. Adora looked around, taking in her surroundings. She sat down on the bed; it was the softest thing she had ever felt. Kicking off her boots and putting her coat down on the nightstand, she laid down to try and sleep. But as seconds became minutes, and minutes became hours, Adora still hadn't fallen asleep yet.
The memories of the night before kept running through her mind. Everything had happened so suddenly. One day she was the princess of the Horde, taking on her first mission to bring peace to Etheria. The next, she found out the 'peace' the Horde brought was a lie, and she abandoned all of her friends and family. The look on Catra's face when she transformed from She-ra back to her regular form was still clear in her mind. It hurt that Catra rejected her offer to join her, but she had to admit that Catra had a point. From her point of view, Adora's decision to leave the Horde must've come out of nowhere. And what about Zed? Adora hadn't even gotten a chance to talk to him before she ran off. The little guy must be so sad and confused right now. She let out a deep sigh as she sat up in bed. She looked at the clock beside her bed. It was almost noon. Deciding she wasn't going to get any rest anytime soon, she got out of bed and put her discarded clothes back on.
She walked out of her room and started exploring the castle; it felt nothing like the cold and harsh feeling of the halls of the Frightzone. Instead, it was an awe-inspiring and ornate look to everything. She continued exploring around until she saw two women she didn't recognize in an outdoor garden of the castle. One had dark skin, an athletic body, and silver-blue hair, one side of it clearly shaved. She wore a short-sleeved white shawl, blue and silver vambraces, and boots with blue gems. Her outfit was primarily blue and silver, except for a pink necklace around her neck. The person next to her was a woman with light pink skin and a body frame she hadn't seen before with her military life. She had long lavender hair in a ponytail and wore a pink and purple outfit with a blue cape and silver necklace with a blue gem.
"Um, hi there. I don't think we've met. I'm Adora. I'm new here." Adora greeted the two.
"Hey. I'm Netossa." the first woman smiled and waved at Adora, "This is my wife, Spinnerella."
"Hi there. Welcome to the Rebellion." Spinnerella smiled
"So I take it you two are also members. I mean, I guess it would be weird if you were at the Rebellion's main base if you weren't part of it. I mean, why would you be here otherwise? And wow, I'm still talking..." Adora rambled nervously.
"Hey, I get it." Netossa chuckled, "Yeah, Spinny and I have been part of the Rebellion for a while. You're that woman who became She-ra, right?"
"Yeah, I am. Though I'd prefer if you call me Adora." Adora said, preferring to not have people her She-ra.
"Of course, no problem." Spinerella said, "So, how is Brightmoon for you so far?"
"It's...different. Very different than anything I've seen before. It's so...beautiful."
"I suppose so. But you should drop by my principality if you want to really be impressed!" Netossa boasted. Spinerella rolled her eyes and playfully nudged her wife in the side.
"That’s not to say we don’t appreciate our hostess’ generosity, right dear?" Spinerella smiled.
"No, of course not. I’m just saying that there’s so much more for her to see besides Brightmoon. " Netossa corrected herself, making Spinerella giggle. Adora just chuckled awkwardly. The three continued to chat for a while, Adora trying not to talk about her past too much. That was something she herself hadn’t even really come to grips with.
That evening, after almost getting lost in the castle’s winding halls, Adora eventually found her way to the castle's dining/planning room, where Angella, Glimmer, Bow, Netossa, and Spinerella were all sitting at a large round table.
"Um, this is a pretty large table, but there aren't many people here; where's everyone else?" Adora asked confused
"This is all, I'm afraid. The Rebellion used to be much bigger before disbanding years ago. Which is why I hope you can help convince the other kingdoms to re-join." Angella said.
"Oh..." Adora said, taken aback by how small their group was right now.
"I mean, me and Spinerella both got our own kingdoms so it’s not like its literally just the five of us, but yeah, we’re pretty outmatched at the moment." Netossa chimed in.
"Now then, I believe the first of the rulers we need to convince to join the Rebellion is Prince Peekablue. He's the wealthiest man on Etheria, and he has the ability to see into the future. It might be difficult, as he’s usually very private and not too keen on unannounced guests. I’ve only met him twice myself. Luckily, he's having a party at his palace in Fowleria tomorrow night." Angella said "I’d like you to go there and persuade him to join the rebellion once more."
"Bow and I can go with her." Glimmer said.
"Absolutely not, Glimmer. Both of you are still injured." Angella protested.
"Mom, I'm fine. Besides, Adora needs us to help her out, show her the lay of the land." Glimmer objected.
"Yeah, she's not really used to life outside the Fright Zone." Bow nodded.
"I'd hate to argue with you, Your Majesty, but Glimmer and Bow have a point." Adora said "I've had practically no experience with any culture aside from the Horde. I'd probably make a fool out of myself. "
Angella sighed. "Fine, but be careful. If there is any sign that a fight will happen, leave, understand?"
"Yes, Your Majesty." Adora and Bow said.
"Yes, Mom." Glimmer sighed. Alright, it looks like we're going to a party."

Chapter 6: First Mission, Again
The sun rose on Brightmoon as Adora woke up in her bed. She finally managed to get some sleep, even if it was just from her body forcing itself to shut down. She got up and stretched before putting on her clothes. She was feeling a little nervous since tonight would be her first mission for the Rebellion. She, Glimmer, and Bow had to go to Prince Peekablue's party and convince him to join the Rebellion.
‘Huh, two first missions in a row…’ she thought to herself.
There was a knock at the door; Glimmer walked in shortly after.
"Good morning. Breakfast is being served in the dining room if you're interested."
"Thanks." Adora said, "So how will we approach this party tonight?"
"Don't worry, I've got everything planned; we'll discuss it after breakfast." Glimmer said.
At the Fright Zone, Catra was eating from a Horde ration box, thinking about who else to add to her squad. She would ask Kyle, but apparently, Hordak sent him on some other mission. Mantenna and Leech provide their unique abilities, and Scorpia and Grizzlor provide their raw strength, but then it dawned on her that she could use someone exceptionally smart. She grinned as she came up with just the person.
Just a couple of hours later, Catra and her squad were on a transport ship on their way to Dryl.
"Emily, how much longer to Dryl?" Leech asked a small computer device on his wrist. The computer screen lit up in response.
"Approximately 35 minutes and 22 seconds, Force Captain Leech." said the computer's female voice.
"Thank you, Emily." Leech smiled.
"You are welcome, Force Captain Leech."
"Seriously? You're talking to a computer?" Grizzlor asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Her name is Emily; show some respect!" Leech snarled, annoyed.
"Emily? Figures you'd give it a girl's name since you can't get a real one." Grizzlor scoffed, before he and Leech started arguing with one another while shoving and kicking each other. Catra stared at the two, wondering if maybe she actually made a huge mistake recruiting them.
"So, I’ve seen Entrapta around a few times but never really got the chance to talk to her. What's she like?" Scorpia asked.
"She’s a total weirdo, not to mention a huge pervert." Mantenna answered.
"W-what? Really?" Scorpia fumbled over her words, caught off guard.
"Yeah, pretty much. Despite that, however, she’s still probably the smartest person in the Horde besides Hordak and Shadow Weaver." Catra shrugged. "Having her on my team would give us an edge over Adora."
In a laboratory deep inside the Horde base of Dryl, a woman was sitting in a chair shaped like a pair of hands. Typing away at a holographic screen with both her actual hands and tendrils of her light purple hair, she was taken out of her work when a humming sound came from a statue of a purple and neon blue-colored bird hooked up to several computers. The statue’s purple eyes lit up.
"Mistress, a transportation ship is approaching Dryl without prior communication." the statue said in a feminine voice.
"Who is on the ship, mademoiselle Motherboard?" asked the woman.
"Passengers identified as Force Captain Catra, Force Captain Grizzlor, Force Captain Leech, Force Captain Mantenna, and Force Captain Scorpia. What is the course of action you command?" Motherboard asked, a red targeting reticule appearing over a video feed of the ship on Entrapta’s screen, ready to launch a missile barrage.
"Let them through."
"Acknowledged." Motherboard replied, canceling the launch sequence.
The ship landed in a docking bay, pistons hissing as their landing gear unfurled. Catra and her team disembarked from the transport. Scorpia anxiously looked around the darkly lit hangar.
"Man, this place is freaky…" she gulped before a loud mechanical 'beep' startled her.
"Eep!" she yelped as she nearly jumped out of her exoskeleton. She looked down to see a small spherical robot with three legs and a single red eye.
"We're here to talk to Entrapta." Catra said; the robot beeped in response and scurried along, leading them to Entrapta's lab, the squad walking by many assembly lines that were constructing countless robots. Entrapta was the top scientist of the Horde, and she was responsible for the creation of all its robots and vehicles. When they entered the lab, Entrapta got up from her chair, her gold-colored thigh-high boots on full display, along with her gold top and purple skirt.
"Catra. What can I do for you?" Entrapta smiled.
"We have a bit of a problem. Adora has defected to the rebels; I'm putting a squad together to find and capture her. We could use someone like you." Catra explained.
"Hmm, A-do-ra, Adora…" Entrapta hummed absentmindedly. "Who was that again? "
Catra looked at her, flabbergasted and more than a little annoyed.
"Adora. Hordak’s daughter? My girlfr-…" Catra cut herself off, heat rising to her face.
"Oh right, the blonde bombshell. What a shame…" the purple-haired woman murmured.
"Anyway, you joining or what?" Catra sighed, patience running low.
"Hmm, I don't know...I have a great many responsibilities here." Entrapta said, looking around her lab.
"Hordak himself assigned me this mission," Catra said, crossing her arms. The mention of Hordak caught Entrapta's attention.
"Is that so?" she smiled; Entrapta had a particular fondness for Hordak, something she didn't keep secret from everyone else.
"That's right." Catra smiled, "And just imagine how pleased he would be if we succeeded. With you helping us, I’m sure he’d be pleased with you too."
"Mmm~, very well, I will join." Entrapta smiled at Catra, "Motherboard, you are in charge of tests and production while I am away."
"Understood, Mistress Entrapta." Motherboard said.
"Perfect. Now we can work on the first phase. Finding her." Catra said to her newly assembled team.
Later that night, Adora, Bow, and Glimmer got dressed in preparation for Peekablue's party. Bow was wearing a white and gold suit with a pink undershirt, Glimmer was wearing a mainly dark purple dress, and Adora was wearing a simple red dress.
"So, why do we need to wear these clothes?" Adora said, shifting her dress around. She'd only ever worn anything like this at formal occasions, like a kingdom joining sides with the Horde or, as was more often the case, offering their official surrender. It seemed a bit excessive for what she'd been told would be a party.
"Peekablue's parties are said to be very fancy and have a strict dress code. We're gonna have to wear these, or we're not getting in." Bow said as the three boarded a transport shuttle. After a short journey, the shuttle arrived at Peekablue's palace. The place looked very extravagant, with large columns and intricate stained glass windows. There was clearly a party going on, as dozens of vehicles were gathered out front, and many people in dresses and suits of various levels of fanciness were entering the building. The three got off the shuttle, Glimmer, and Bow leading Adora to the front door, the muffled sound of music becoming audible.
"Name?" said a guard at the front. The girl was rather plain-looking, wearing a light brown leotard-tuxedo hybrid over a set of hazel tights.
"Princess Glimmer of Brightmoon. These two are my escorts." Glimmer told the guard. The guard looked at a digital pad. All of Etheria's royals were invited to Peekablue's parties, even if they usually never arrived. She nodded before opening the door for them.
"Okay, so we find Prince Peekablue, then get him alone somewhere so we can try to convince him to join." Glimmer whispered.
"So...what does Prince Peekablue look like?" Adora asked.
"Don't know, he's never been seen outside the borders of his kingdom." Bow said.
"Which is why we need to find the guy that looks like the wealthiest person here." Glimmer said.
As the three searched, Adora looked around the room in awe and wonder. She'd had been to plenty of parties at The Fright Zone, but nothing there was ever this elegant and formal. Mostly just salty snacks, loud music, and the occasional keg stand competition. She couldn’t help but feel woefully out of her element. She blushed nervously as she fidgeted with her dress. She probably looked ridiculous compared to all the nobles around her. It was then that she noticed someone.
A woman, only slightly shorter than Adora, with messy blue hair that reached to about her shoulders and pale blue skin. She was wearing a tight blue tail coat, with a long, folded-up tail of bright green feathers sticking out between the suit's tails. Underneath, she was wearing a light blue leotard over a set of darker blue tights and a pair of thigh-high boots with heels on them, which even then barely made her the same height as Adora. Her face was adorned with dark purple lipstick on her plump lips and rosy-red eyeshadow around her gorgeous, icy blue eyes. Most striking of all, however, was her figure. While she seemingly didn't have much in the way of bust, her lower curves were the most giant Adora had ever seen in her life. Her thighs were easily twice as thick as her upper torso, her hips as wide as some of the tables, and her butt-cheeks were each as big as four or five heads put together. The massive butt stuck out a full meter behind her, yet despite its immense size, it was perfectly round and bounced and jiggled with every step she took.
Adora was completely stunned by her beauty. A couple of days ago, she'd never imagined being with anyone other than Catra, but now, seeing this mesmerizing figure, she couldn't help but feel attracted.
"Adora? What are you staring at?" Glimmer shook the blonde out of her daze before seeing the woman for herself. "Oh wow...she looks amazing. But anyway, we shouldn't get distracted."
"B-but, uh, what if she knows where Peekablue is?" Adora suggested, and before Glimmer could call her out on the obvious excuse, she walked up to the woman, "Um, excuse me?" she asked, the woman turning to face her with a curious smile.
"Um, w-we're looking for Prince Peekablue. Do you happen to know where he is?" Adora asked, trying to stay calm and collected at the sheer beauty that was standing before her. The woman looked at Adora for a couple seconds before giggling and smiling. Adora noticed something about the giggle...it was oddly deep for a woman.
"That would be me." the person smiled. Their voice had a thick accent...and was clearly male, "I'm Prince Peekablue."
Adora stared at the prince in shock. Her face became red as a beet as she quickly ran back to Glimmer and Bow and huddled them beside her.
"So, did she tell you where Prince Peekablue is?" Glimmer asked.
"No. Because he IS Prince Peekablue." Adora said, still surprised, a look of embarrassment on her face.
"Wait, what!?" Bow said before turning around to get a look at the prince, who was standing there somewhat confused.
"Okay, okay. Let's just let the surprise wear off and then go ask him." Glimmer said, determined, grabbing the other two by the hands and dragging them over to Peekablue.
"Greetings, Prince Peekablue. I am Princess Glimmer of Brightmoon. My friends and I would like to talk to you privately."
"Hmm...alright, we can talk in the dressing room behind the stage over there." Peekablue said, moving towards the backstage entrance, the trio following him.
"So," Peekablue said, sitting down in a chair, which seemed to be inadequately sized for his posterior. "You are here because that Adora girl has become the legendary She-ra, and you are trying to recruit me into joining the Rebellion because of my wealth and Farsight abilities."
"Wha-, you knew all that already?" Adora gasped in shock.
"Of course, my farsight can see a lot. And lucky for you, I already have an answer ready for you." Peekablue said.
"Really? So will you join us? "Glimmer asked excited.
Peekablue closed his eyes and smiled happily before giving Adora, Bow, and Glimmer his answer.
"No, thank you."

Adora, Glimmer, and Bow need to find a way to convince Prince Peekablue to join the Rebellion, but it may be more difficult than they first believed.
Chapter Text
"So will you join us? "Glimmer asked excitedly. She, Adora, and Bow eagerly awaited the answer of the wealthiest person in Etheria, Prince Peekablue. Peekablue closed his eyes and smiled happily before giving Adora, Bow, and Glimmer his answer.
"No, thank you." He told them, still smiling.
The three stared at Peekablue, their mouths agape in shock at his response.
"But...but why?!" Glimmer asked, "We're trying to save Etheria from The Horde!"
"I'm sorry. But I detest war and violence." Peekablue explained, "If you will excuse me, I must get back to the party now. My darling Sweet Bee is probably waiting for me." he said as he began to stand back up, his amble behind bouncing slightly at the movement.
"Wait, Sweet Bee? You know Princess Sweet Bee?" Glimmer asked
"Hmm? Yes, the two of us have been together for a while now." Peekablue said casually, “Well, do svidaniya, enjoy the party." he said as he walked out of the backstage area, his butt once again bouncing with every step out. Hearing Peekablue say that gave Glimmer an idea of what to do next.
"Wha...what just happened?" Adora asked, "Why are we just letting him walk off?"
"Change of plans." Glimmer told Adora and Bow, "Now, we're going to find Princess Sweet Bee and convince her to join, and then get her to convince Peekablue to join." she explained.
"Uhh, alright. Sounds like a plan." Adora scratched her head.
"Are you sure Adora's here?" Catra asked Entrapta. She and her squad parked their vehicle outside of Peekablue's palace. Catra was wearing a dark red tuxedo with an untied bowtie around her neck. With her were Grizzlor and Leech, who were both wearing plain black tuxedos, with Grizzlor's having a deeper cut neckline that showed off more of his chest area.
"Motherboard saw Adora coming here, Catra. I will not doubt Motherboard's data." said Entrapta, wearing a gold-colored dress cut off just above her knees.
"Woah, so this is one of Peekablue's famous parties." awed Scorpia, wearing a pitch-black dress with her shoulders and arms fully open, a belt of red gems at her waist, black heels, and red gem earrings.
"Yeah, looks neat, I guess. Come on, let's go. Mantenna, you-" Catra turned to Mantenna before she was interrupted.
"Yeah, yeah, stay in the vehicle." Mantenna groaned, still wearing his normal Horde attire, "Just let you have all the fun." he murmured. Catra wanted one of them to stay there so they could make a quick getaway, and she chose him, the "least attractive" one.
"Okay, the rest of you just keep quiet; let Entrapta and I do the talking." Catra said
"Wait, but Catra, I-" Scorpia began.
"Want to help, I know. But Entrapta and I are the best at actually talking. So just leave everything to us." Catra said as she and Entrapta made their way to the front door.
"Can I help you?" the female guard asked the two, looking at them skeptically.
"I’m thinking maybe you can. This, is Queen Entrapta of Dryll." Catra said. The guard looked at the pad and scrolled through the list of names and kingdoms.
"Where are the trumpets?" Catra asked annoyed. "We were promised trumpets to announce the queen’s arrival!"
"You're not on the list." she simply said, "Dryll isn't even a kingdom on this list."
"What? Excuse me!?" Catra said, putting on her best fake outrage voice, "Entrapta, the queen of Dryll herself, has decided to grace this event with her presence, and you're saying she's NOT on the list?!"
"That's exactly what I'm saying, now move along." the guard said.
"Fine! We, will go. You, can explain to Prince Peekablue why we were not able to attend your little luau or your barn dance, whatever this is. We are leaving, in a huff!" Catra said, trying to make her performance believable. The guard did not look impressed, simply watching as Catra and Entrapta left, much to Catra’s internal dismay. Just then, Scorpia walked up to the guard.
"Excuse me? I'm Princess Scorpia D'Ream of Scorpias. These are my escorts." Scorpia said; the guard looked at the list and opened the door for them.
"Welcome to the party, your grace. " she bowed politely.
"Okay, let's head in." Scorpia smiled as she entered the palace. Entrapta, Grizzlor, and Leech followed her, while Catra just stood there in shock.
"What?" Scorpia asked, confused as Catra walked in.
"You're a princess?!" Catra asked in disbelief.
"Well, yeah...did you not already know that?" Scorpia replied, "I thought everyone knew that."
"Yeah, you behind that much?" Grizzlor asked
"It's not exactly an obscure fact." Leech said
"Then why didn't any of you stop me before I made a fool of myself!?" Catra asked annoyed.
"We thought you had a better plan. You ARE our leader, after all." Entrapta said.
"Okay, so what does Sweet Bee look like? There's a lot of people here, she could be anywhere." Adora said, looking around with Glimmer and Bow. Bow then saw someone in the distance.
"Um...I feel like that might be Sweet Bee." he said, pointing the other two to a twelve-foot-tall insectoid woman standing in the crowd, showing clear and distinct bee features and wearing a quite large fur coat.
"Huh…Alright, let's go." Adora said as the three of them maneuvered around the other guests and towards the large bee woman, who was standing near a fountain in the ballroom.
"Excuse me, miss? Are you Princess Sweet Bee?" Glimmer asked.
"Hmm? Yeah, I'm Sweet Bee." the bee woman said, her voice sounding soft and sweet, in stark contrast to the insectoid mandibles it came out of.
"I'm Princess Glimmer of Brightmoon, and I'd like to ask you something."
"Alrighty~" Sweet Bee nodded with a smile.
"I would like to ask if you-" Glimmer began, before she was interrupted by someone shouting loudly over the crowd, making everyone fall silent.
Catra was looking around the party, trying to spot Adora. Scorpia was doing her best to keep up with her, trying and failing not to bump into anyone. After a lot of quick apologies, she reached the determined catgirl.
"C-catra, wait. What’s the plan?" Scorpia huffed, the rest of the squad catching up with them as well.
"We’ll look for Adora, obviously!" Catra groaned annoyed.
"Mmm, we should split up, so we cover more ground." Entrapta mused.
"Good idea. If anything goes wrong, we signal each other." Catra nodded in agreement. But as she was about to leave, Entrapta stopped her.
"What kind of signal do you want? Do you want kind of subtle, like-" Entrapta asked before leaning down and whispering sensually into Catra’s ear, Catra shuddering uncomfortably as her ear twitched.
"Or something more like-" Grizlor chimed in and beat his chest rapidly.
"Oh, how about this-" Scorpia said before putting a claw to her mouth and shouting loudly "Ca-caw! Ca-caw!"
The room went silent as all the partygoers stared in their general direction, Catra cringing internally. She poked Scorpia in the side to shut her up.
"Subtle. Let’s get to work." Catra rolled her eyes before walking off.
"Huh, that was weird…" Glimmer muttered as she looked across the room to try to find the source of the bizarre noise. She turned back around...only to find that Sweet Bee wasn't there anymore. Glimmer stood there, dumbfounded at how she had managed to lose the huge bug woman as Bow and Adora caught up with her.
"She was right here!" Glimmer gestured wildly at the empty spot.
"Don’t worry, we’ll find her." Bow said as the three of them started searching. As they walked through the mass of people, they passed by one particular catgirl.
"Well, look who it is~ Alright guys, I found-" Catra spoke up, before realizing the others had already split off.
"Ugh, I take my eyes off them for one minute..." Catra grumbled before walking off in search of her squad.
"Champagne, ma’am?" a servant offered, before Catra smacked the tray of drinks out of her hands.
Grizzlor and Leech were looking around the ballroom area.
"Man, I heard these parties Peekablue hosts were fancy. Never thought I'd see one myself." Grizzlor said, admiring the ornate decor of the palace and the party. And partaking liberally of the free champagne.
"Yes, it is quite the visual spectacle." Leech rolled his eyes dismissively.
"Geez, would it kill ya to sound genuine?"
"Parties aren't exactly my specialty." Leech grumbled, wishing he could be anywhere but here right now.
"Come on, K'ull'leussh, let's have some fun." Grizzlor nudged him.
"I told you never to call me that in public." Leech glared at Grizzlor. Grizzlor just rolled his eyes and walked over to a group of women talking, introducing himself with a charming grin.
"Leech, what are you two doing!? I found Adora, let's go." Catra said as she walked up to them.
"You found her or you caught her?" Leech asked.
"Who cares? I saw her, so let's go capture her." Catra hissed annoyed
"You can go. I'll stay here; the idiot has his mind occupied right now." Leech said, glancing over at Grizzlor, showing off his muscles to the ladies.
Elsewhere in the ballroom, Entrapta was getting a good look at the many guests. She got all up in their faces as she admired the quite magnificent appearances some had. She strutted over to one man at the party, clearly the same species as Peekablue, with orange skin, shorter hair, and a rear end that, while nowhere as big as Peekablue's, was still noticeably large.
"Well hello there~ You are quite the cute one." Entrapta smiled at the man, liking his lips as her eyes lingered on his wide hips, "Would you like to join me tonight?" she wiggled her eyebrows.
"I am flattered." The man smiled at her, "But I am taken. Besides, you are not my type."
Entrapta pouted in disappointment and turned around. She approached the next person she saw and tried to flirt with them. Catra spotted her going from person to person, trying, and mostly failing, to hook up with them. Figuring that Entrapta was clearly too occupied to help her, Catra sighed and decided to tried to find Scorpia. She then saw the large muscular woman talking with a woman in a pink dress with flowers in her blonde hair.
"Scorpia. Come on, I found Adora." Catra nudged her.
"Oh, Catra, right, I’ll-, uh, be right with you." Scorpia smiled somewhat distracted as she returned her attention to the woman in the pink dress, a blush forming on her face. It was clear whatever she was doing was going to keep her attention away from what Catra wanted.
"Ugh, forget this. I can get Adora myself." Catra huffed as she stormed off, pushing over a small statue on a table in annoyance.
Glimmer, Bow and Adora continued their search for Sweet Bee. They found her standing by a table with various finger foods, nibbling on a piece of meat on a skewer.
"Princess Sweet Bee!" Glimmer said, quickly teleporting to her location.
"Oh, hello again." Sweet Bee greeted her warmly. She grabbed a walnut and absentmindedly shoved it into her mandibles, cracking it open and swallowing it.
"Hi. Okay, so, I know your kingdom is recognized as neutral, but I would really like you to consider-" Glimmer said before she heard a loud crash. She turned to look, seeing a handful of people standing around the remains of a small statue onto the floor. One of the servants growled annoyed as she squatted down to clean it up, while two more were pushing past the crowd, trying to catch someone Glimmer couldn’t see.
"Alright, we don't have much time, so-" Glimmer said, turning back around before seeing Sweet Bee gone once again.
"Seriously!?" she fumed annoyed. After a quick look around, she saw Sweet Bee was now all the way across the ballroom.
"Come on, let’s get to her and just be upfront about it this time." Adora said determined. Glimmer sighed and nodded before following after her. As they made their way past the other partygoers, Catra spotted them from a distance.
"Aha! Now I got you." She grinned as she made her way towards Adora. However, before she could get close, she was stopped by two of the servants stepping in front of her.
"Out of my way, bird brains!" Catra snarled at them.
"Hold it right there." A voice spoke up. Catra turned around to see Prince Peekablue walking up to her, accompanied by two more servants.
"There you are. You’ve been causing quite a bit of trouble." He said annoyed.
"I'm on official Horde business, Prince Posterior; get out of the way." Catra snarled.
"Fowleria is recognized as a neutral kingdom. Meaning any and all members of The Horde abide by its laws while here." Peekablue told Catra, "And you’ve broken quite a few of them. Trying to enter under a false identity, breaking palace property, and assaulting my staff." He glared.
"Security, escort this woman out of here." He ordered, and the servants grabbed her and began dragging her out.
"Hey! Get your dirty hands off of me!" Catra replied, trying to struggle her way out of their grip. She looked around for her squad mates. She spotted Scorpia, dancing with the blonde woman.
"Ca-caw! Ca-caw!" Catra called out, trying to signal to Scorpia to help her out. Scorpia, however, was too busy enjoying herself dancing to notice Catra’s calls, leaving the catgirl to make a fool of herself as security guards grabbed her and began dragging her out of the palace, much to her objection.
Meanwhile, Glimmer, Adora and Bow managed to make their way to Princess Sweet Bee's current location.
"Princess Sweet Bee, would you please join the Rebellion?!" Glimmer said, not wanting to give her any time to wander off again.
"Mmmmm," Sweet Bee pondered, "okay."
"Wait, really?" Bow asked, shocked at how easy that was.
"Yeah. I'll join. Sounds like fun." Sweet Bee smiled.
"Okay, cool. Um, could you maybe convince Prince Peekablue to join as well?" Glimmer asked
"Sure, I'd love my sweet Peekablue to join with me."
Glimmer and Bow paused for a couple of seconds before cheering in celebration.
"We did it!" Adora cheered, "So now what do we do?"
"Well...want to enjoy the rest of the party?" Glimmer asked the other two.
"Sure." Bow said
"Um, sure, okay. Wow, my first mission is a success!" Adora smiled
Catra yelped as she was thrown out of the palace, right into one of the bushes. Grumbling as she plucked the leaves out of her hair, she walked to the vehicle they came in, Mantenna waiting.
"So...how did it go?" Mantenna snorted, looking amused at the karma Catra seemingly suffered for leaving him with the hover car.
"Don't even start." Catra groaned; she might have succeeded if not for her squad all getting distracted. She REALLY wished she could have gotten Kyle in this group; he would have gotten the job done in no time, but Hordak told her Kyle was on some supposedly important mission. She sighed; what mission could be so important that Kyle couldn't help her get Adora back?
Elsewhere on Etheria, a rebel base was being set ablaze. The bodies of rebel fighters littering the area, Horde soldiers setting fire to the buildings. A single rebel crawled on the ground, his body badly bruised and beaten; he tried his best to crawl away despite the pain he was in.
"So here's how this is gonna work," said the deep digitized voice of Kyle as he slowly walked around the rebel, "I'm gonna ask you a real simple question, nothing too hard." he began talking. The rebel tried to reach his arm for a gun next to another dead rebel, before Kyle, just as the rebel's hand touched the gun, pressed his foot down on both the hand and the firearm. The gun was entirely crushed under the immense weight, the rebel's hand suffering the same fate. The rebel screamed in pain as Kyle squatted down.
"And you're gonna answer that question. Ready?" Kyle asked, the rebel still reeling in pain in response, "Good." he said before he took his foot off the hand and grabbed the rebel by the neck, lifting him several feet off the ground. The rebel's eyes stared directly into the glowing lenses of Kyle's helmet.
"Where is King Micah?"

She-ra: The Princess of Power
Chapter 8: New Arrivals
The morning sun rose on Castle Brightmoon. After waking up, Adora quickly got dressed. She was feeling good about herself. Just last night she had succeeded in her second first-ever mission, recruiting both Prince Peekablue and Princess Sweet Bee to the Rebellion. She was about to leave her room when she saw her sword beginning to glow again. She grabbed it and heard a familiar voice in her head.
"Adora. It is time for you to fully understand the power you possess." said the voice of Light Hope.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Adora asked before the figure of golden light appeared next to her.
"Follow me, and you will understand." Light Hope said before walking away.
Adora had to admit, what Light Hope said didn't really fill her with confidence. However, if it meant she could get some answers, she was willing to go along. She grabbed her sword and headed out, running into Glimmer in the hallway.
"Oh, Adora, glad you're here, we're just about to welcome Peekablue and Sweet Bee to the castle." Glimmer said.
"Sorry, but I can't come with you on that one. I know how crazy this sounds, but the sword is guiding me somewhere so I can understand my powers better." Adora explained.
"…Oh, well, okay, I guess you don't need to be here now that they've already been recruited. Plus, I'm sure Bow and I can handle them, good luck." Glimmer said awkwardly before Adora left. She walked outside of Brightmoon castle, Bow and her mother also there waiting with a greeting party for Princess Sweet Bee and Prince Peekablue.
"I must say, Glimmer; I'm amazed you managed to convince two neutral kingdoms to join us." Angella said.
"Yeah, I was surprised too. I'm sure Peekablue and Sweet Bee will be great additions to the war effort." Glimmer smiled. A transport shuttle arrived, landing in front of the pathway to the welcoming party. Prince Peekablue walked out of the shuttle, his stride elegant and composed. His long folded tail barely avoided brushing against the ground.
He stood there holding a cigarette holder before taking a puff and exhaling out pink smoke. He strut down the pathway and greeted the Brightmoon Royalty.
"Privet! Lovely to finally meet you, Queen Angella." he smiled, cupping Angella's face with both hands, before placing a chaste kiss on her lips.
"I-…Yes, it is an honor to meet you, Prince Peekablue. I see the stories about you are quite accurate." Angella blushed, somewhat taken aback by his appearance.
"Speaking of accurate, might as well give you an example of my Farsight." he said, putting a hand to his temple and closing his eyes, "I predict that you...will experience a notable disappointment today!" he smiled.
"Oh...I see...w-well, our guards will show you to your room, then, your Highness." Angella said, a pair of guards escorting Peekablue while picking up and carrying a rather absurd amount of luggage.
Another shuttle soon arrived. This time, Princess Sweet Bee stepped out, the giant bee woman having to duck her head to get through the shuttle's door. Her massive size took most of the people there aback.
"Hi!" she smiled brightly.
"Hello, Princess Sweet Bee. Welcome to Bightmoon. The Rebellion welcomes you and the Andreenids." Angella said.
"The Andreenids?" Sweet Bee said tilting her head, still smiling.
"Yes, The Rebellion appreciates the support of your kingdom." Angella nodded.
"Why would my kingdom be helping?" Sweet Bee asked, sounding genuinely curious.
"Um, remember? You agreed to join the Rebellion." Glimmer said confused.
"That's right, I did. I didn't say anything about my kingdom." Sweet Bee said bluntly, all while her smile and blank stare remained.
"Wait...so you're the only one of your people who is actually joining?" Angella asked, a shocked expression on her face.
"Yeah. Sorry if I confused you." Sweet Bee said before looking over and seeing Peekablue.
"Peekablue!" she happily called out, brushing past Angella, Bow and Glimmer to run towards him.
"Sweet Bee!" Peekablue smiled before the two hugged each other tight and kissed. All while Angella and Glimmer just stood there in confusion.
"Hello there, you must be Queen Angella and Princess Glimmer." another voice said behind them. They turned around to see another Andreenid, this one being about the size of the average person.
"My name is Buzz-Off. I'll be here to look after Princess Sweet Bee." he said before pushing up his glasses.
"Look after her?" Bow asked
"Yes, I am, for all intents and purposes, her guardian. So I will be staying here with her." he replied flatly.
"I-I see. Welcome to Brightmoon." Glimmer sighed, she was more than a little taken aback right now. Bow gave her a reassuring pat on the back.
"Okay, you help Sweet Bee to her room, I'll help Peekablue to his." Bow said.
"Oh right, I forgot to tell you...Peekablue will be sharing your room." Glimmer admitted to Bow.
"Wait what?" Bow asked surprised.
"Yeah, my mom and I planned out what room would be best for each member...and we didn't have enough space to give Peekablue his own room. Sorry." Glimmer chuckled nervously, Bow sighing in response as he walked over to the happy couple still giving each other a very long, very loud kiss.
"Um, Prince Peekablue, looks like you'll be staying in my room, so I'll show it to you." Bow said, Peekablue broke the kiss and stepped over to Bow.
"Many thanks." he said before walking ahead of him, Bow getting a full view of the rear end of the prince. He blushed and quickly looked away from it.
Later that day, Sweet Bee was looking around her new room.
"We tried to find the biggest room possible." Glimmer said. In truth, Sweet Bee’s room was one of the guard barracks that had frantically been redecorated to fit a royal guest, since it was the only room large enough to house her while also being connected to a bathroom.
"Thank you, it’s very lovely." Sweet Bee smiled before Buzz-Off walked in, struggling with several suitcases. It seemed Sweet Bee wasn’t any better than her boyfriend with how much luggage she required.
"We didn't know you had plans to arrive with Sweet Bee, so we didn't have anything planned for you, sorry." Glimmer apologized to Buzz-Off.
"It's alright, I'm not picky about my living arrangements as long as I'm able to reach Princess Sweet Bee in a short amount of time. I will sleep in the broom closet if need be." Buzz-Off said before a ringer on his communication device went off. He looked at it, and sighed when he saw the caller.
"I'll be right back, your highness, I need to take this." Buzz-Off said before he left the room and answered his communicator.
"Hey~" said the voice on the other end.
"Waspus, I specifically told you to not call me today. I'm busy." Buzz-Off berated.
"But Buzz-Off~, it's lonely here. I miss you."
"I'm looking after the Princess, Waspus, you have any idea how important that is?" Buzz-Off asked annoyed
"Come on, you can't even make any time for me?" Waspus asked, Buzz-Off simply sighed. He could practically hear Waspus pouting.
"Look, I can't just go back to Andreenos, it's my duty to watch The Princess. But...if you ever find yourself near Brightmoon...I wouldn't mind you visiting." Buzz-Off relented.
"Hmmm...okay!" Waspus said, Buzz-Off noticed the voice sounded echo-y before he realized Waspus was standing behind him with his communicator.
"Hello!" Waspus happily greeted him.
"What are you doing here!?" Buzz-Off shouted exasperated.
"Well, you said you wouldn't mind me visiting. So here I am!"
"Aren't you supposed to be at the palace right now!?" Buzz-Off said grabbing Waspus's collar and pulling him closer.
"I was. But like I said, I missed you...so I swung by!" Waspus smiled at him.
"YOU 'SWUNG BY?!' FLYING FROM ANDREENOS ALL THE WAY TO BRIGHTMOON IS NOT 'SWINGING BY!'"
"Hehe, you got me there." Waspus smiled before Buzz-Off let go and sighed, pushing his glasses up.
"Alright, so you're here. What do you want?" Buzz-Off asked crossing his arms.
"To visit you, duh." Waspus smiled before hugging Buzz-Off. Buzz-Off blushed a little and sighed once more, he should have expected this from Waspus.
In Bow and now also Peekablue's room, Bow was helping the prince unpack his absurd amount of belongings.
"I am sorry, I know it's a lot. I was not told I would be sharing this room." Peekablue said hanging up various elegant and elaborate outfits in the room's closet.
"It's okay, I didn't know either. If I knew I would have cleaned up some." Bow said moving around a lot of his own stuff. He lowered to the floor to push his lute under the bed. He was about to get up when he saw Peekablue walk over to him.
"I truly do appreciate that you are willing to do this." Peekablue smiled down at Bow. Bow saw the lights of the room glistening on Peekablue's face as he knelt down and put his hand under Bow's chin.
"I hope that our shared living will lead to a wonderful friendship between us." Peekablue smiled, Bow was amazed by the sheer beauty of it. He hadn't had the chance to see Prince Peekablue so closely and so clearly...it was then that he noticed Peekablue was actually moving his head closer...before giving Bow a very brief kiss on the lips. It only lasted for a few seconds, but for Bow, it felt like an eternity. Feeling Peekablue's lips against his own filled his brain with so many thoughts and feelings that he couldn't even comprehend anything. His face blushed bright before collapsing onto the floor completely.
"Bow?" Peekablue asked confused, looking somewhat concerned at the unconscious man lying on the floor.
Sometime later, Bow awoke. He could feel his head laying on something soft. It felt so comfortable, Bow almost wanted to go back to sleep, to bask in this blissful feeling forever. Begrudgingly, he opened his eyes, finding himself staring up at the ceiling.
"Ah, good, you’re awake! I was starting to get worried!" he heard Peekablue’s voice call out to him. He turned his head to the side, seeing Peekablue looking at him over his shoulder, the blue skinned man lying on his stomach while reading a book. It was then that Bow realized his head was laying on Peekablue’s butt. He blushed brightly and quickly got up on his feet.
"Are you alright?" Peekablue asked.
"I- wuh- what just-" Bow stammered, face still bright red.
"I didn’t want to leave you on the cold ground so I gave you something to lie your head on."
"And you decided to use your butt???"
"Of course, it’s the softest thing around here." Peekablue said matter of fact.
"A pillow would have been fine…" Bow averted his gaze, hoping his blush wasn’t too obvious. Though in truth, he didn’t really mind Peekablue’s decision all that much.
In the hallway outside of Sweet Bee's room, Glimmer leaned against the wall and buried her face in her hands in frustration. She was mentally kicking herself for not being specific to Sweet Bee earlier about her kingdom helping The Rebellion.
"Everything alright, Your Highness?" asked Buzz-Off, he and Waspus approaching.
"Oh, Buzz-Off...y-yeah, everything's fine. It's just...well, when I recruited Princess Sweet Bee, I was under the impression that Andreenos would support us as well." Glimmer explained.
"I figured as such when she told me you invited her. I understand this may not be the exact outcome you wanted, and Princess Sweet Bee may be a lot to handle at times. However, she will still be of use to you." Buzz-Off said, ignoring Waspus resting his arm on his shoulder.
"Um, who is that?" Glimmer said noticing Waspus.
"I'm Waspus. Royal Guard Captain and Buzz-Off's-"
"He and I are work associates." Buzz-Off interrupted, Waspus pouting in response.
"Uh...I see." Glimmer said
"Anyway, while The Rebellion will not have access to Andreenos's military forces, the financial resources of the royal family are something you will be able to use thanks to Princess Sweet Bee. Provided she approves, of course." Buzz-Off said pushing his glasses up.
"Yep. Plus Buzz-Off and I are ready to help however we can." Waspus smiled
"Excuse you? You said you were just visiting?" Buzz-Off grumbled annoyed.
"I am. Didn't say how long my visit was gonna be~" Waspus smiled and winked at Buzz-Off, much to his annoyance.
Sometime later, Netossa and Spinerella were walking in Brightmoon’s garden, when they spotted Sweet Bee standing by a planter full of daisies.
"Hey, isn’t that the princess from Andreenos?" Netossa asked.
"Yeah, Sweet Bee, I believe. Come on, let’s go introduce ourselves!" Spinerella smiled as the two of them approached the twelve feet tall bee woman.
"Hello there, your highness! I am Spinerella and this is my wife Netossa."
"Hmmm~" Sweet Bee hummed absentmindedly to herself as she rubbed her face through all the daisies in the planter.
"Uhhh, you good, girl?" Netossa asked, staring concerned as the tall bug lady made satisfied buzzing noises with her head shoved into a patch of flowers.
"Your grace, there you are!" Buzz-Off called as he, Waspus and Glimmer ran into the garden.
"She seems pretty out of it." Waspus remarked as Buzz-Off gently pulled her away from the planter.
"It’s as I feared. She’s gone into a euphoric fit from the pollen." Buzz-Off sighed.
"Wait, so your race gets high off of pollen?" Netossa asked shocked.
"Surprisingly, yes." Waspus chuckled, amused by his princess’ goofy expression.
"Hehehehe~ Pretty flowers~" Sweet Bee giggled as Buzz-Off let out an exasperate sigh, herding her away from the garden.
"I take it this isn’t the first time something like this has happened?" Glimmer asked concerned.
"You don’t want to know, trust me." Buzz-Off sighed.
Meanwhile, Bow had finished cleaning his room, making it more presentable for his royal roommate. He heard the door to the bathroom opening.
"Ah, your highness, I’ve just finished- W-what are you wearing??" Bow gasped as he saw Peeablue, wearing nothing but a black leotard with a blue hoodie over it, and a set of fishnet pantyhose clinging tightly to his thick thighs and wide hips.
"My casual clothes. I figured I’d relax a bit before I dress up more regally for dinner." Peekablue smiled, seemingly oblivious to Bow’s red faced expression.
"This is your casual fit?!" Bow gulped as he tried not to stare too much. Sufficed to say, he was having a hard time keeping his blood pressure down. Living with Peekablue was going to be a challenge.
Later that evening, Glimmer and Bow met up near the dining area.
"So, how did things go with Peekablue?" Glimmer asked.
"I'd...rather not say. How did things go with Sweet Bee?" Bow asked.
"I'd rather not say either."
"Well, both of them seem to adapt well to being part of the Rebellion, so I guess that's what matters." Bow said.
"I guess so...just hope things go more smoothly with the other royals." Glimmer sighed before Adora came crashing near them on a winged horse.
"Ugh, that could have gone better..." Adora groaned getting up.
"Sorry about that, I'm still not exactly used to flying." the horse spoke out. Bow and Glimmer just stood there, staring at both the horse with wings and that just spoke.
"Oh hey there. How did things go with Peekablue and Sweet Bee?" Adora asked casually

She-ra: The Princess of Power
Chapter 9: Who am I?
Adora followed the figure known as Light Hope through the castle, eventually leading her to the palace stables, where Spirit was being kept. The horse looked up at Adora, and she patted him gently.
"Um, okay...what do you want me to do now?" Adora asked, looking over at Light Hope.
"Unsheathe your sword and allow its power to do the rest." Light Hope answered. Adora hesitantly pulled out her sword and looked at it. The gemstone glowed brightly, and a beam of light suddenly emitted from it, firing at Spirit. The horse startled as he was engulfed by the glow, the silhouette changing in the light. The light faded as Spirit opened his eyes, there now being a pair of large, majestic rainbow-colored wings on his back and a rainbow-colored horn on his head.
"Spirit?" Adora gawked, cautiously stepping closer to her transformed horse.
"I...I am fine, Adora...wait, did...did I just speak?" Spirit said, realizing he just spoke human language.
"You just spoke." Adora gasped in shock.
"What...happened to me?!" Spirit said looking at himself, his large wings, and the fact that he felt much smarter.
"I have no idea..." Adora said in amazement before she looked at Light Hope, the figure morphing before her. The being of pure light changed into something more humanoid. Before her stood a tall man with long flowing hair, his face beautiful. He seemed to be translucent, like a ghost, and a golden glow emitted off of him.
"Light Hope?" Adora questioned.
"Yes. Now that you have unlocked the power of both yourself and your steed, I am able to show my true self to you."
"So...what are you, exactly?" Adora asked him.
"I am a spirit. Bound to your sword. The only ones who can see me are those connected to the sword, those deeply intertwined with magic, and those of immense power." Light Hope explained.
"Okay...so why am I the one connected to the sword?"
"I will lead you to where your questions may be answered." Light Hope told her. The figure walked away with Adora and Spirit following him. The two followed Light Hope for what felt like hours. Walking deeper and deeper into the Whispering Woods until the two heard a voice.
"Why hello there, traveler. Are you lost?" asked the voice. Adora and Spirit turned their heads to the source of it, up on a tree branch was a small furry creature with large ears and a beak smoking a pipe.
"No...at least I think I'm not? I'm trying to find somewhere." Adora said.
"Find somewhere? Well, if somewhere is what you're looking for, here is certainly somewhere, Adora." the creature said.
"How do you know my name? Who are you?" Adora asked.
"My name is Kowl, and I know quite a bit about you, certainly more than that ghost you are listening to." Kowl said taking another puff from his pipe. Light Hope appeared next to Adora and looked up at Kowl.
"I know nothing of this creature, Adora. He is no use to our quest." Light Hope told Adora.
"No use? Why, dear Light Hope, nothing is truly of no use." Kowl said putting his pipe away before he descended down to the forest floor, using his large ears to hover down safely.
"Wait, you can see him?" Adora asked.
"You know who I am?" Light Hope asked, seeming equally surprised.
"Yes and yes. Now then, Adora, if you are looking for answers about that sword, you need not go to where Light Hope is taking you. Why, I think you would find no answers at all there."
"What are you talking about?" Light Hope frowned.
"You simply need to follow me, and you'll find the answers you seek." Kowl said.
"Why would where I am leading her not have the answers?" Light Hope asked the strange creature.
"Because there isn't much left of it, let alone anything that can help you."
"What? Impossible!" Light Hope said.
"If you wish to see it, I'd be happy to show you." Kowl said before flying in the air with his large ears, Adora and Light Hope followed him. They had no idea who or even what this Kowl was, but the fact he knew who both Adora and Light Hope were, and could even see Light Hope, meant he must know something. The location Kowl led them to was a set of ruins. Light Hope's eyes widened upon seeing it.
"How? What happened here? This was an impenetrable library of knowledge." Light Hope said looking around.
"Time wasn't very kind to it, I'm afraid. And The Horde picked apart anything left of it." Kowl said, "Anything useful to you here withered down or was taken long ago."
"I...see...so where did you want to take me?" Adora asked, Kowl. She had to admit, she was still not entirely sure about everything going on, but she felt it was best at this point to not question things anymore.
"Right this way." Kowl smiled before flying off.
"I do not think we can trust this creature." Light Hope said.
"This is all weird to me too, but the place you wanted me to go is a dead end so...might as well." Adora shrugged before following Kowl, Light Hope reluctantly following Adora.
In The Whispering Woods, was the home of Madame Razz. Some viewed her as a crazy woman who lived alone in the forest, but many others saw her as a wise mystic deeply entrenched in the arts of magic. She was working over a boiling cauldron, practicing one of her many magic spells. She spoke the incantation over her magical concoction...before it exploded in a large cloud of purple smoke. The explosion sent her directly into the wall. She coughed out some purple smoke.
"Okay, that spell..." she said grabbing a quill pen and clipboard "Needs work." she wrote down before dusting her clothes off. She then saw Kowl fly into her house through her window.
"Hope you don't mind me visiting, Razzy." Kowl said perching on a shelf.
"Oh, Kowl, what brings ya here?" Madame Razz asked before she heard a knock at her door, she opened it to see Adora, Light Hope, and Spirit.
"Adora! Back so soon. And I see ya brought a horse and a...ghost?"
"You can see me as well?" Light Hope asked baffled.
"Honey, when you're as in the know about magic as I am, ya see some strange things." Razz said inviting Adora and Light Hope in.
"I don't think I can fit." Spirit said.
"Sorry, horsey, don't get a whole lotta horse guests." Razz said before snapping her fingers, a block of salt conjuring in her hand before putting it next to Spirit.
"Is that a salt lick? I'd like to know about this to-" Spirit said before taking a lick from the salt. "-oh that is really good." he said before continuing to lick it. Razz closed the door and walked over to her cauldron.
"So, what brings ya here?" she asked
"Well, Kowl told us he knew where we could find out about...well, this." Adora said showing her sword. "And why I'm connected to it."
"Hmm...and the spookster there I guess is connected too?"
"Can you aid us or not?" Light Hope asked impatiently.
"Yeah, yeah, I can. You're a little rude for a dead guy, ya know." Razz said before placing several magical ingredients in her cauldron, "Now just hover ya finger over the cauldron."
"Uh, like this?" Adora said putting her finger directly above the cauldron before Razz pricked her finger with a needle, letting some of her blood drip into the magic brew.
"There. Now work your own magic, Light Hope." Kowl said
Light Hope walked over to the cauldron and watched it boil.
"Stick your hand in it." Kowl said motioned. Light Hope hesitantly did so, a golden light coming from the cauldron, in that light, Light Hope could see familiar images,.
"There, Adora. Look." Light Hope said, Adora looked at the cauldron, various images of highly advanced and futuristic cities.
"What is all this?" Adora askes
"This," Light Hope explained, "is Eternia. My home planet. Millions of years ago, Eternia was the most powerful empire in the universe. Our people prospered thanks to our ability to blend technology and magic."
"What do you mean 'blend?' People use magic and tech all the time." Adora said.
"They use magic or technology. But we, however, were the first ones to fuse the two in perfect balance. It was through this fusion that we were able unlock the secrets of the universe, and transfer the endless void of space. We spread our influence throughout, acquired power beyond imagination, and many more primitive species saw us as gods." Light Hope said.
"Alright, but...why are you telling me this? What does this have to do with why I'm She-ra?" Adora asked
"Because, Adora, you are Eternian as well." Light Hope said. Adora looked at the cauldron and it showed images of Hordak finding her inside of a pod, "You were sent to this world and were kept in stasis for millions of years before you were found."
"I'm...I'm a First One?" Adora asked, many emotions going through her mind.
"That is what Etherians have called us, yes, since many believed us to be the first species of intelligent live, or at least the first to traverse the stars. Eternia eventually fell to an enemy we could not negotiate with nor defeat. Once Eternia fell, all that were left were the off-world colonies, and they eventually withered down to nothing." Light Hope explained.
"So that's it? I'm the last one left?"
"That I know of." Light Hope said, "I was once an Eternian warrior who fell alongside our planet. I am now bound to your sword to ensure your destiny is fulfilled."
"Destiny?" Adora asked confused.
"Yes." Light Hope said resting his spectral hand on Adora's shoulder, "The power of She-ra has chosen you. Now you must use that power to free Etheria, to free the universe, and defeat The Horde once and for all. I will aid you in your journey."
"I...I don't know what to say..." Adora said.
"It's a lot to take in, dearie, it's understandable." Razz said.
"I need some air." Adora said walking out of the house.
"You didn't tell her the whole story." Kowl said to Light Hope, crossing his arms.
"I will inform her when the time is right. What matters is that she defeats The Horde." Light Hope said exiting the home.
"You plan on tellin' Adora the whole thing?" Razz asked Kowl
"No, it's clear there's already a lot going through her mind. Besides, it is Light Hope's responsibility."
Adora stood next to Spirit, petting him as she took several deep breaths, all this news being a lot to take in.
"Are you alright?" Light Hope asked her.
"Honestly...I don't even know. I found out I'm some legendary warrior and now I find out I'm a First One." Adora said.
"I understand. This is much information to accept. Which is why I am here, Adora. I will aid you in your efforts however I can." Light Hope said.
"Alright...alright, okay. Just, no more big revelations, okay? I think I'd had enough."
"Very well. Our business here has concluded. If you wish, we can return to the castle." Light Hope said.
"Yeah, let's do that...come on, Spirit." Adora said before climbing onto her flying steed.
"I will try to fly us back to Brightmoon." Spirit said.
"Are you sure that's safe?"
"Don't worry, Adora. These wings already feel natural to me. This will go smoothly." Spirit reassured her.
As they flew over the tree line, Adora pondered about what she had learned. She had heard stories of the First Ones. Knew that many people worshipped them as gods. The idea that she was one of these mythical people was bizarre to her. But that was nothing compared to the melancholy she felt knowing she was the last one left. In less than a week, she had to abandon her old family, only to find out her ‘true’ family was long dead and gone. The only thing remaining of them being herself and a ghost stuck in a sword. She shook her head, trying not to think too much about it. Family or not, the people of Etheria still needed her, so she would do whatever she could to protect them.
"I can see Brightmoon just up ahead!" Spirit declared excited.
"Alright, put us down carefully." Adora nodded.
"You got it, one safe landing coming right up- w-whoah!" Spirit gulped as he tried to fly lower, only for him to lose altitude much faster than he anticipated.
"Spirit?!" Adora called out, desperately trying to hold on as they careened towards the ground.
"Hold on, this might be a rough landing!!!" Spirit warned as he rocketed towards a large stained glass window.
"So this is how She-Ra dies, in an unfortunate horse crash." Light Hope hummed, looking slightly disappointed.
Adora yelped as she and Spirit crashed through the window, landing on the floor. Adora caught her breath as she awkwardly got off of her horse, bruised, but thankfully mostly unharmed.
"Ugh, that could have gone better..." Adora groaned getting up.
"Sorry about that, I'm still not exactly used to flying." Spirit spoke out. Bow and Glimmer were standing there, looking absolutely shocked at the winged talking horse that just crashed through the window.
"Oh hey there. How did things go with Peekablue and Sweet Bee?" Adora asked casually.

Chapter 10: One Night with Peekablue
"Oh, hey there. How did things go with Peekablue and Sweet Bee?" Adora asked casually.
"It, uh...went interestingly... I'm sorry, did that horse just talk? And fly?" Glimmer asked, flabbergasted.
"Yeah, it's a long story. Basically, through the power of my sword, Spirit can now fly and talk," Adora explained.
"It is just as strange for me as for everyone else," Spirit added.
"You know what? You can tell us more about all this tomorrow. We've had a long day," Glimmer sighed, rubbing her temples.
"Same here. I'll bring Spirit back to the stables and meet you two in the dining room," Adora said, walking off with Spirit.
Amazingly, dinner passed with little incident. The only notable occurrences were Peekablue and Sweet Bee's affectionate cuddling—Peekablue perched delicately on the giant bug woman’s lap—and Waspus's significantly less successful attempt to mimic the couple by trying to sit on Buzz-Off’s lap, resulting in Buzz-Off repeatedly shoving him away. Still, nothing too troubling. After dinner, Bow and Peekablue walked toward their shared room, Bow pointedly leading the way to avoid eye contact with the prince's... assets.
"I never noticed, Bow, your posterior is quite well-shaped," Peekablue remarked casually, his gaze lingering on Bow's thigh-exposing pants.
"W-what!?" Bow turned around, his face burning crimson.
"I am simply stating that you take good care of your body. Your rear end and thighs are quite shapely and muscled. You train your body often, no?" Peekablue asked, tilting his head, clearly not understanding Bow's reaction.
"Y-yes, I try to stay in shape," Bow stammered, attempting to regain his composure. He turned back around and quickened his pace to their room. Once inside, he rummaged through his drawers for a pair of blue shorts. He grabbed them and headed for the bathroom.
"Where are you going?" Peekablue asked, already removing his formal clothing.
"I'm going to change," Bow said quickly, closing the bathroom door, not wanting to admit he was unwilling to change in front of Peekablue. Bow sighed and stripped off his admittedly already revealing outfit. He began to pull on his shorts...until they reached his thighs. It was then that a horrifying realization dawned on him: these were not his shorts. He had asked his dads to send him all his remaining clothes, but these shorts must have belonged to one of his brothers, whose lower body was much smaller than Bow's. He briefly considered searching for another pair, but then he remembered Peekablue was still in the main room. The last thing he wanted was for Peekablue to see him naked. He took a deep breath and tried to force the shorts on anyway. It took considerable effort, but he managed. He didn't tear the shorts, but they ended up riding up, barely covering his rear end. He blushed fiercely; there was no way he could go out like this. Just then, the door opened, and Peekablue stood there, already changed into his casual clothes from earlier.
"Bow, come on out. Let's have some fun," he said with a smile.
Bow froze, sweating bullets, and slowly turned to face Peekablue, realizing the prince had just gotten an unobstructed view of his bare butt. Peekablue paused for a few seconds, his expression unreadable, before a smile spread across his face.
"I-I can explain..." Bow stammered, trembling.
"That is a wonderful casual outfit, Bow. It truly accentuates the beauty of the body. Now, come on, let's have some fun," Peekablue said, grabbing Bow's hand and pulling him into the room. Bow, in his compromised state, couldn't help but notice the prince’s own impressive posterior. Peekablue led Bow to the bed and sat down on the floor, his large frame settling comfortably.
"I saw you putting this lute away earlier. You play an instrument?" Peekablue asked, seemingly unfazed by Bow's state of undress.
"Uh, yeah. I like to play the lute in my spare time," Bow replied, trying to ignore the sheer awkwardness of the situation.
"You must show me!" Peekablue exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with genuine excitement.
"Um, yeah, sure," Bow said, his blush deepening. He retrieved his lute from under the bed, checked the tuning, and began to play a gentle melody. Peekablue smiled and watched attentively as Bow's fingers danced across the strings.
"Zamechatel'nyy!" Peekablue clapped, his voice filled with admiration. "That was a wonderful tune!"
"Thanks..." Bow mumbled, his cheeks still flushed.
"I also play an instrument," Peekablue said, reaching for a nearby case. He opened it to reveal a lyre. "Would you like to hear?"
"Sure, go ahead," Bow said, managing a small smile. The tune that Peekablue played was unlike anything Bow had ever heard. It was ethereally beautiful, filled with a haunting melody that seemed to resonate deep within his soul. Bow simply gawked, captivated by the sight of the most beautiful man he had ever seen playing the most beautiful music he had ever heard. His eyes even began to water. Bow was so completely enveloped by the song that it felt like an eternity before it ended.
"Ah, nothing like a good lyre song in the evening," Peekablue sighed contentedly before turning to Bow. "Are you alright?" he asked, noticing Bow's misty eyes. He leaned closer, his face just inches from Bow's.
"I-I'm fine!" Bow blurted out, his face turning an even brighter shade of red. He quickly stood up. "I'm just, uh...sore. My body, you know. I train so much it causes pain." Bow chuckled nervously.
"That is not healthy, Bow. Let me help you," Peekablue offered as he stood up, his gaze filled with concern.
"H-help me?"
"Yes, I keep my body well-massaged. You should do the same. Here, allow me." Peekablue smiled gently.
"Uh...I-I don't know..." Bow hesitated, unsure if he could maintain his composure at the thought of Peekablue massaging him.
"Nonsense. Lie on the bed and experience it for yourself," Peekablue instructed.
Reluctantly, Bow slowly lay down on his bed. Peekablue used his soft hands to delicately massage Bow's arms and shoulders. Bow tried everything in his power not to react, acutely aware of Peekablue's close proximity and the mesmerizing quality of his touch. This went on for several minutes before Peekablue began to move his massage over more of Bow's body, starting with his chest and torso. Feeling Peekablue's soft and delicate hands kneading the muscles of his chest, his large pecs, and his toned stomach, it took all of Bow's willpower to suppress a moan, especially when Peekablue's graceful hands moved across his pecs. Peekablue then turned Bow onto his stomach and began to work on his toned back. Bow's face grew so hot he expected steam to rise from his ears as he felt the firm yet gentle movements of Peekablue's hands on his muscled thighs and his toned rear. As soon as he felt Peekablue's touch on his butt, he practically jumped off the bed and stood up, much to Peekablue's surprise.
"I-I'm going to go take a shower!" he exclaimed, and all but ran to the bathroom. He shut the door and turned on the shower, making sure the water was as cold as he could stand. He stripped and stepped into the icy spray, exhaling deeply as he tried to regain his composure.
"What is wrong with me?" he thought. "Peekablue is with Sweet Bee. He's taken." Bow stood there, the cold water cascading over his body, attempting to cool the heat that radiated from within. He tried to take several deep breaths to calm himself. He let the water wash over his face, hoping to clear his mind... just before Peekablue entered the bathroom.
"I came to check on you," Peekablue said, seemingly unfazed by walking in on Bow naked in the shower.
"I-I'm fine!" Bow stammered, quickly covering his privates.
"I was just worried because you have been acting strange lately," Peekablue said, reaching out to place a hand on the side of Bow's face.
"Are you sick?" Peekablue asked, pressing his forehead against Bow's.
"N-no! I'm not sick! I told you, I'm fine. Thanks for checking in..." Bow said, feeling faint.
"Well... alright. If you say so..." Peekablue said with a hint of concern before turning to leave. Bow couldn't help but notice Peekablue's retreating form, his eyes drawn to the prince's backside, which only made him want to submerge himself further into the cold shower.
It took nearly an hour before Bow felt comfortable enough to step out of the shower. He sighed and dried himself off, pausing for a moment before realizing he hadn't grabbed any clothes before entering. This meant he had to put those awful shorts on again. He pulled them on and reluctantly exited the bathroom, only to find Peekablue sitting on the floor, reading a book. His peacock tail was fanned out behind him, his own large posterior serving as a makeshift cushion. He was, of course, completely naked.
"Oh, good, you're finished. I wanted to take a shower myself," Peekablue said, setting the book aside and standing up. Bow averted his eyes, but not before catching a glimpse of Peekablue's entirely naked body.
"W-why are you naked!?" Bow asked, trying to keep his voice down.
"Silly Bow, you cannot shower with clothes on," Peekablue said with an innocent smile. "Silly Bow."
Peekablue picked up a fancy case filled with various hygiene products and walked past Bow to the bathroom, his rear swaying with every step. Bow stood there, frozen, before Peekablue closed the door. Bow then fled to his bed and buried his face in his pillow, screaming into it in mortified anguish.
"Why did I have to be roommates with a hottie who's taken!?" he groaned into the fabric, each syllable laced with a potent cocktail of longing and self-pity. The unfairness of it all clawed at him. Here he was, surrounded by the constant, undeniable allure of Peekablue, a man who effortlessly embodied everything Bow found attractive, yet utterly unattainable.
His mind, unbidden, drifted back to Marcus, his first and then-only love. The memory was bittersweet, tinged with the soft glow of early affection and the sharp sting of its abrupt end. He'd been so hopeful then, in those early days of the Rebellion. Marcus's quiet strength and gentle humor had been a balm to Bow's own anxieties. He remembered their shared laughter by the campfire, the tentative touch of their hands during training exercises, the feeling of finally connecting with someone amidst the chaos of war. "You're a good man, Bow," Marcus had said, his hazel eyes warm, and for a while, Bow had dared to believe it was true, that maybe, finally, he'd found someone who saw him, truly saw him.
But then… the slow fade. The decreasing smiles, the shorter conversations, the growing distance that Bow had desperately tried to bridge, only to be met with Marcus's quiet, inevitable truth: "The spark… it's gone for me." The words echoed in the hollow chambers of Bow's memory, a painful reminder of his vulnerability in matters of the heart. Had he misread the signs with Marcus? Had he been too eager, too open? The questions still lingered, sharp little barbs that pricked his self-esteem.
Now, the universe seemed to be playing a cruel joke on him. Instead of allowing him more time to heal, to rebuild, it had thrust him into close proximity with someone who ignited a far more intense, almost visceral attraction. Peekablue wasn't the quiet, steady comfort of Marcus. He was a vibrant, dazzling supernova, radiating confidence and an almost otherworldly beauty. Every casual glance, every innocent touch, every melodic note from his lyre was a fresh assault on Bow's carefully guarded heart.
He squeezed his eyes shut, the image of Peekablue's graceful, naked form as he walked to the bathroom searing itself onto the back of his eyelids. It wasn't just the physical beauty, though that was undeniably potent. It was Peekablue's easy confidence, his unselfconscious sensuality—the very qualities Bow often felt lacking in himself. And the knowledge that this captivating creature belonged to someone else, that Sweet Bee held the affection Bow so desperately craved, was a constant, dull ache in his chest.
"It's not fair," he whispered into the pillow, the words thick with frustration and a burgeoning sense of despair. He was trapped, sharing a room with a walking, talking embodiment of his unfulfilled desires, a constant reminder of what he couldn't have. The memory of Marcus's gentle departure felt almost merciful compared to this daily, agonizing proximity. He was surrounded by the very thing his heart yearned for, yet a chasm of circumstance and existing affection lay between them, a chasm that felt impossibly wide. The irony was a cruel twist of the knife: after the quiet fading of one spark, he was now caught in the blazing inferno of another, one that was destined to remain just out of reach.
"Bow?" Peekablue called out from inside the bathroom.
"Y-yeah?" Bow responded, his voice muffled by the pillow.
"I think I left my brush out there. Can you bring it in? You cannot miss it," Peekablue said.
"Uh, yeah, sure thing," Bow said, taking a deep breath and looking around. It didn't take long to find a long-handled brush. He wondered for a moment why Peekablue needed such a brush, but then he remembered the sheer size of the prince's rear end, and it made perfect sense. He walked to the bathroom door and took another deep breath. He'll go in, hand Peekablue the brush, and get out. Easy. He opened the door to immediately see Peekablue's perfect body. His rear was even more prominent in the steamy environment, it sticking out to the point where it was barely even wet, his peacock tail fanned out majestically. The steam from the shower did little to conceal his form.
"Also, while you are in here... could you help me groom my tail?" Peekablue asked, fluttering his iridescent feathers.
"G-groom it?" Bow gulped, his face flaming.
"Yes, there is a special comb in the box next to you. It would be very helpful," Peekablue said, lathering soap onto the end of the long-handled brush and using it to wash his back. Bow took a deep breath and walked to the case, grabbing a large, ornate comb.
"So, do I just... comb your tail?" he asked nervously, hesitant to even touch the prince’s pristine feathers.
"Yes, comb it to remove any loose feathers. Some of them may be tangled, so do not be afraid to apply a little pressure," Peekablue instructed. Bow composed himself and carefully placed the comb in the silken collection of feathers. He began to gently move the comb through them, removing the loose feathers. It wasn't long before he encountered a snag. He pulled the comb a little harder... and then he heard Peekablue emit a soft moan—a moan that sounded distinctly sensual. He pulled the comb again, and Peekablue moaned once more. It was at this moment that Bow realized this task was going to be perhaps the most difficult he had ever undertaken.
"Sorry, it's just that my tail is rather sensitive. I am fine, please continue," Peekablue said, leaning his hands against the shower wall. Bow's blush deepened when he realized the suggestive nature of their position: Peekablue leaning against the wall, his rear end presented directly towards Bow, each pull of the comb potentially eliciting another moan. Bow tried to get through it as quickly as possible, vigorously combing and grooming Peekablue's tail, attempting to ignore the various involuntary sounds Peekablue made.
"There, all done! Well, I'll just be-" Bow said with a strained smile, trying to escape as quickly as possible... before he slipped on the wet floor. His body fell forward, directly towards Peekablue... and his head landed squarely on the prince's rear end. His head sank into the soft cheek for a moment before bouncing slightly, like landing on a particularly plush cushion. Bow froze, his eyes wide with shock, his unblinking stare fixed on the expanse of Peekablue's posterior. After a few seconds of stunned silence, Peekablue moved his hand and began to gently stroke Bow's head.
"Are you okay, Bow?"
"Uh...yeah...actually, no. I'm not okay," Bow said, finally standing up, his face a mask of conflicted emotions.
"Why? Did you hurt yourself?" Peekablue asked, his brow furrowed with concern.
"No, Peekablue... I like you!" Bow blurted out. He panted, his eyes squeezed shut, realizing the full implications of his confession. He braced himself for rejection... but instead, Peekablue turned and gently grabbed Bow's head, pulling him into a deep, tender kiss.
"I was waiting for you to confess," Peekablue said with a smile, pulling Bow into the shower and removing his soaked shorts. Bow was stunned, amazed, and then completely overtaken by a wave of euphoria. He wrapped his arms around Peekablue, pinning him against the shower wall as they kissed passionately. Bow lifted one arm to cradle Peekablue's massive thigh, drawing him closer. Peekablue responded by leaping slightly and wrapping his equally impressive thighs around Bow's torso. Bow held Peekablue effortlessly as they continued their intimate embrace, their fingers intertwined as the hot water streamed over them. Bow's mind was reeling with joy; this felt too good to be true.
Then, Bow's eyes snapped open. He was staring up at his bedroom ceiling.
"Are you alright?" Peekablue asked softly.
"Ugh... what happened?" Bow groaned, feeling a dull ache in his forehead.
"You slipped in the bathroom and then fainted after I caught you. So I decided to bring you to your bed," Peekablue explained.
"Oh, thanks..." Bow said, both thankful and a little disappointed that the passionate encounter had been a dream. But then, he realized the feeling beneath his head was familiar, the same as earlier that evening. He turned his head to see Peekablue lying on the bed beside him, Bow's body nestled against his large, soft rear.
"You seemed stressed out all evening, so I decided to let you ease that stress with something comfortable," Peekablue said, smiling warmly at him.
"You seem to like using your... body to calm me down," Bow said, too tired to be embarrassed.
"Of course, Bow. We are roommates, and I hope we can become friends. Friends rely on each other. That means I will try to help you however I can," Peekablue said earnestly.
"I... thanks... and I'll try to help you however I can too. That's what friends are for, right?" Bow said, smiling genuinely at Peekablue.
"Da. Goodnight, Bow," Peekablue said, lying down on the bed.
"Goodnight, Peekablue," Bow replied, drifting back to sleep, his body still nestled against the soft rear end of his new roommate.

Chapter 11: Flowers for The Rebellion
The morning sun, a soft blush of rose and gold, crept over the horizon, painting the spires of Brightmoon Castle. Inside, the familiar scent of freshly baked bread and brewing tea filled the air as everyone gathered in the grand dining room for breakfast.
"Morning, Bow. How did your night with Peekablue go?" Glimmer asked, a playful glint in her eyes as she piled berry pancakes onto her plate.
Bow stretched, a contented sigh escaping him. "Honestly? Started pretty rough, but it worked out...plus," he arched his back, a genuine smile spreading across his face, "my back feels amazing."
Breakfast proceeded with its usual lively chaos. Peekablue and Sweet Bee were practically inseparable, their affectionate whispers and shared glances drawing a mix of amused smiles and exaggerated eye-rolls from the others. Waspus, meanwhile, continued his valiant, if utterly futile, attempts to catch Buzz-Off's eye, which were met with Buzz-Off's stoic indifference. After the meal, the entire group convened in the War Room.
"Alright," Angella began, her voice resonating with regal authority as the holographic map of Etheria flickered to life. "The next kingdom to recruit for the Rebellion should be Plumeria. It's ruled by Queen Fragran and her daughter, Princess Perfuma."
"Alright, sounds simple enough," Glimmer declared, her fingers lightly tapping the table. "Adora, Bow, and I will go there and try to recruit her to our cause."
"Be careful," Angella cautioned, her expression clouding with concern. "There have been reports of Horde activity slowly encroaching on Plumeria. It's becoming... more aggressive."
"Don't worry, Mom, we have She-Ra with us, after all," Glimmer said confidently, placing a reassuring hand on Adora's shoulder. Adora managed a tight, almost imperceptible smile. A knot of unease still tightened in her stomach, a familiar echo of doubt, but it was best not to voice anything right now.
The kingdom of Plumeria, once a wondrous nation consisting entirely of ancient forests and lush, vibrant jungles, was now slowly being choked. The Horde had built a colossal foundry, its metallic maw chewing relentlessly at the verdant landscape. The base, a cancerous growth of steel and smoke, was slowly expanding its grounds, cutting down everything around them with a brutal efficiency. From its towering smokestacks, thick, black plumes belched into the sky, and acrid, toxic runoff poisoned the very planet.
In the main office of the base, Horde Officer Indust surveyed his domain. He looked out through the window, his gaze sweeping over the smog-filled skies and the angry, burning fires that consumed the ancient trees. A cruel smile stretched across his lips as he took a slow, deliberate inhale from his cigar, savoring the noxious fumes.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" he purred, his voice a low, guttural rumble. "I've been taking full advantage of this position. A new desk, a new suit." He preened, feeling the rough, mismatched textures of his suit, crudely fashioned from various animal pelts. "And oh, smell that sweet, polluted air. Soon, all of Plumeria will have the same exquisite scent."
"I'm not getting paid to smell toxic waste with you." A deep, gravelly voice cut through Indust's self-congratulatory monologue. Indust frowned, his eyes narrowing as he turned to face the figure in the room: a large, dark-furred bat-man, idly fiddling with an apple and a wickedly sharp knife.
"Then do what you are paid to do and don't waste my time if you aren't going to indulge me, Batros." Indust said, attempting to sweep the imposing figure away with a dismissive wave. Batros, however, simply drove his knife hard into the apple, pinning it to the desk with a sharp thwack.
"You wanna talk about wasted time, Indust?" he growled, standing to his full, towering height. Indust watched nervously as Batros approached, his large, imposing frame casting a long shadow over the smaller officer.
"The whole reason Hordak sent me here was 'cause you were supposed to have already got this place under Horde control. Now here you are over a year later, still screwing around." Batros's voice was a low, dangerous rumble.
"Well, I don't see what that has to-" Indust tried to interject, his voice a nervous stammer.
"I get paid by the job, not the hour. So I want to be done with this as quickly as possible. That means I ain't interested in your chats. Now step back, shut your mouth before I shut it for you, and let me do my damn job." Batros said sternly, his eyes glinting with menace. He turned and strode out of the room, grabbing his knife from the impaled apple on the way out, the fruit splitting cleanly in half as the blade was withdrawn.
At Brightmoon Castle, Glimmer and Bow boarded a sleek transport shuttle, its engines humming with power.
"You two can take the shuttle," Adora said, approaching the stables. "I figured I could take Spirit along; he could use some practice with that whole flying thing."
"Good morning, Adora," Spirit greeted her eagerly, his voice a warm, resonant baritone.
"Morning. We're gonna be following that shuttle, okay, Spirit?" Adora said, gently petting her magnificent winged horse.
"Actually, Adora," Spirit began, his expression thoughtful, his large, intelligent eyes meeting hers. "Getting these wings and this horn and this... ability to talk... I'm not sure I'm very comfortable with the name Spirit anymore. I'm thinking my new name should be... Swift Wind."
"Why Swift Wind?" Adora asked, a small smile playing on her lips.
"Well, I figured it'd make sense 'cause, well, I'm swift, and with my wings, I can ride on the wind. What do you think?" Swift Wind explained, a hint of pride in his voice.
"Hmmm... okay." Adora smiled, a genuine warmth spreading through her. She leaned in and patted his neck. "Then let's follow that shuttle, Swift Wind." She climbed onto his back with a graceful ease.
Swift Wind spread his majestic, rainbow-colored wings, and with a powerful beat, launched into the sky, effortlessly following the shuttle.
As they reached Plumeria, the beauty of the ancient forests was immediately overshadowed by the grim evidence of the Horde’s presence. Even from a great distance, the large stacks of black smog, thick and acrid, could be seen, a choking monument to destruction.
"You can already tell the damage is bad..." Glimmer frowned, her eyes scanning the smoke-choked horizon as the shuttle descended.
"Well, hopefully, we can convince Plumeria to help us by fixing it," Bow said, his voice laced with hope. As the two exited the shuttle, Adora came flying in on Swift Wind, who, despite his newfound abilities, was still working on his landings. He attempted a smooth descent before tumbling and crashing into a large, sturdy tree with a resounding CRACK.
"W-we're okay!" Adora called out, slightly disheveled but otherwise unharmed, as she untangled herself and Swift Wind from the branches.
Suddenly, the ground beneath them began to rumble. Several large plants, vibrant and alive, sprang up from the earth, their thick, green stems uncoiling with surprising speed. Various giant vines centered around a massive, unopened flower bud. The petals slowly unfurled, revealing a tan-skinned woman. She wore a simple yet elegant pink dress and sandals, and her long, flowing blonde hair was adorned with an array of fresh, colorful blossoms. Her presence radiated a serene, almost ethereal calm.
"Hello there. You must be from Brightmoon," the woman smiled, her voice soft like a rustling breeze. "I'm Perfuma. Ooh, and you must be that Adora woman Angella mentioned," she said, her gaze bright and curious as she walked directly towards Adora.
"Uh, yeah," Adora managed, a little flustered by the sudden, intense attention.
"Wonderful! You're She-Ra!" Perfuma exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight. With a graceful flick of her wrist, she made various vibrant flowers rise from the ground, weaving themselves into an elaborate crown that gently settled upon Adora's head.
"Uh...yeah...I'm She-Ra," Adora chuckled awkwardly, adjusting the floral crown, a faint blush creeping onto her cheeks.
"Come, follow me," Perfuma smiled, her expression radiant, as she led Bow and Glimmer down a winding path through the giant flora. Adora sighed, a mix of embarrassment and resignation on her face, before Light Hope materialized beside her, leaning his translucent form against a nearby tree trunk.
"Why did you have doubt? You are She-Ra," he stated, his voice calm but firm, resonating with an ancient authority.
"I still don't really feel comfortable with people calling me that," Adora admitted, her gaze lowered. "Especially given this whole prophecy business."
"That prophecy exists for a reason, Adora. Regardless of your feelings, you are She-Ra. It is best you own the title." Light Hope's form shimmered, and then he vanished, leaving Adora alone with her thoughts. She sighed again and, after a moment, followed the others, Swift Wind trotting dutifully behind her.
Perfuma led the group into the heart of a large village, a marvel of natural architecture. It was centered by a colossal, ancient tree, its immense trunk and sprawling branches serving as the foundation for countless structures woven directly into the living wood. The place seemed tranquil, the people moving about their lives with a quiet, harmonious rhythm.
"My home is right this way," Perfuma smiled, gesturing towards the largest tree house, its entrance adorned with cascading vines. As soon as she opened the door, the group was assaulted by a loud, high-pitched laugh. A man then leaped past them, a blur of vibrant pink hair, bare feet, several glinting piercings, and dark shades. He was followed closely by a young boy, his face flushed with exasperation.
"Dad! Give me back my pin-ups!" the boy shouted, his voice a mix of annoyance and playful desperation. The man simply chuckled, making various nonsensical noises that sounded like gibberish, but carried a clear, teasing intent.
"Ooh? Bu bu? Sexy?" the man grinned, flaunting several pictures in his hand in a deliberately provocative manner.
"Dad!" the boy exclaimed, his face scrunching in annoyance before he skidded to a halt in front of Perfuma. "Perfuma, tell Dad to give me my pin-ups back!" His eyes then widened as he spotted Glimmer and Adora. "Ooh! You brought hotties home?" he grinned, a mischievous glint in his eyes. Perfuma, with a sigh that suggested this was a daily occurrence, bonked her fist lightly on his head.
"This is my little brother, Colin," Perfuma told Glimmer, Bow, and Adora, gesturing to the boy. "And over there's my father, Lavender."
Lavender, momentarily distracted from his son's pursuit, turned to them, a wide, playful smile on his face. His tongue, adorned with a glistening piercing, darted out in a brief, almost childlike gesture of greeting.
"Colin, Dad, these are the envoys from Brightmoon. Princess Glimmer, Bow, and Adora, who's She-Ra," Perfuma introduced them, her tone a mix of pride and long-suffering amusement.
"Oh? She-Ra?" Lavender exclaimed, his voice filled with curiosity. He bounded over to Adora, his movements surprisingly agile for his age, and peered at her closely, though it was hard to tell his exact expression with the dark shades covering his eyes. "Short. Short She-Ra," he observed, tilting his head slightly, as if measuring her.
"Hello there, you must be the envoys." A new voice, calm and regal, called out from deeper within the room. A woman, who bore a striking resemblance to Perfuma but possessed a more stately and grounded presence, entered.
"Indeed they are. Everyone, this is my mother, Fragran," Perfuma introduced her, her voice filled with respect.
"It is lovely to meet you," Fragran said, her smile warm and genuine.
"The feeling's mutual, Queen Fragran," Glimmer nodded her head respectfully, her diplomatic training kicking in.
"And you must be She-Ra, then," Fragran smiled at Adora, her gaze holding a knowing glint.
"Um, yeah...but Adora is just fine," she said, a nervous chuckle escaping her lips. Just as she finished speaking, Colin, seemingly unable to resist the urge for mischief, snuck up behind her. Adora yelped as she felt a sudden, hard smack on her butt, and her warrior instincts took over. She spun around, swinging her fist at whatever was behind her, connecting squarely with Colin's face.
"Uh...I-I'm sorry!" Adora stammered nervously, horrified that she had just punched the prince of the kingdom she had come here to recruit, right in the face. Colin, rubbing his jaw, looked more surprised than hurt.
"Oh, don’t worry, dear. Colin is a naughty boy, and if beating the bejeezus out of him makes you feel better, you just go right ahead and do it." Fragran said cheerfully, waving a dismissive hand. "Consider it a public service, really."
"Uh...o-okay," Adora said, utterly bewildered by the family's dynamic and struggling to process the Queen's cheerful encouragement of violence towards her own son.
"Anyway, we're here to recruit Plumeria to the Rebellion," Glimmer interjected smoothly, redirecting the conversation back to the matter at hand.
"Yes, I heard," Fragran said, her expression turning more solemn. "And while I am fully supportive of freeing the planet from the Horde, I'm afraid Plumeria wouldn't be of much help in a direct fight. We don't have many fighters here, and our own home is under Horde attack."
"Your nation is known for its incredible agriculture, so you can provide vital food for the Rebellion territories," Glimmer suggested, her voice persuasive. "And as for the Horde's presence here, we can take care of that, but we'll need your help and knowledge of the land."
"Ooh, I can help them!" Perfuma suggested cheerfully, her eyes shining with determination.
"No. Dangerous. No, no." Lavender frowned at Perfuma, waving his hands in disapproval, his playful demeanor momentarily replaced by genuine concern for his daughter's safety.
"Now, now, dear. This may be a good idea," Fragran hummed, putting a reassuring hand on her husband’s shoulder. She turned back to Glimmer and Adora, her expression thoughtful. "Very well, if you can take care of The Horde's presence here, Plumeria will join the Rebellion."
"Alright, you guys, let’s go—Eep!" Glimmer blushed bright red, letting out a high-pitched sound as she felt a sharp slap against her butt. Glaring over her shoulder, she saw Colin standing behind her, a wide, goofy grin plastered on his face.
"Nice butt. Let nobody say I don’t appreciate a girl with some meat on her bones~" Colin 'flirted,' winking exaggeratedly. Glimmer responded by punching him square in the face, a satisfying thwack echoing in the room.
"Come on, let’s go," Glimmer huffed with indignation as she stomped out of the building, Bow and Adora awkwardly following behind her, along with Perfuma, who didn’t seem fazed by it at all.
On the edges of the Horde foundry in Plumeria, several armored soldiers were busily setting up explosive charges on various tanks filled with a viscous, glowing green liquid. The tanks were connected by thick tubes to the base of ancient trees, ready to unleash their destructive contents.
"Let's hope this stuff Tempus cooked up does the trick," Batros muttered, his voice a low growl. "Hurry up, we ain't got all day!" he commanded the soldiers, his impatience palpable. As soon as the last charge was set, the soldiers scurried back to the relative safety of the base walls. Batros pulled out a worn detonator and pressed the button. The tanks erupted in a series of violent explosions, sending shockwaves through the air. The green liquid sprayed outwards, and wherever it touched, the once-vibrant plants began to rapidly decay and wither, turning to brittle dust in a matter of seconds.
"That's the stuff," Batros smiled, a cruel satisfaction twisting his features. He opened a small reinforced metal case, revealing several syringe-like darts, each filled with the same glowing green liquid. "And I even got some for personal use," he chuckled, putting the case away with a sense of dark anticipation. Suddenly, a burst of static and frantic chatter erupted on his comms.
"All nearby units, we have reports of large plants bursting from the ground!" a soldier's panicked voice crackled through the comms.
"That's impossible. We're making sure of that," Batros scoffed, his brow furrowing in disbelief.
"More reports coming in, vines everywhere, sir, we're being overrun! We're—" The soldier's voice was abruptly cut off, replaced by a chilling static. Batros grabbed a pair of binoculars and looked into the distance, seeing colossal vines suddenly bursting from the ground, tearing through the earth like monstrous green serpents.
"So that's how you tree huggers wanna play, huh?" Batros snarled, his eyes narrowing. He turned on his comms. "I need burners out here, NOW!"
Perfuma, alongside Glimmer, Bow, and Adora, was already engaged in a furious battle with the facility’s guards. Perfuma, her face set with fierce determination, summoned several giant vines that lashed out like whips, ensnaring and tossing Horde defenders aside.
"Do you think these will distract them long enough?" Perfuma asked, her voice strained with effort.
"Only one way to find out..." Adora said, pulling out her sword. "For the Honor of Grayskull!" she shouted, the familiar surge of power transforming her into her tall and powerful She-Ra form. She knelt down, her powerful legs coiling, and then launched herself forward, leaping a great distance towards the heart of the foundry. Perfuma, with a graceful gesture, summoned large, rapidly growing plants that lifted and transported herself, Glimmer, and Bow, following She-Ra's trajectory.
In the base’s main office, Indust watched in growing horror as the various vines now sprouted out all over the foundry, tearing through metal and concrete. Horde soldiers and lumbering robots, armed with flamethrowers, tried their best to cull away the relentless plant growth, but it was a losing battle. He glared, his teeth gritted in impotent frustration.
"Batros, what is bloody happening out there!? You were supposed to speed things along!" He shouted into a comm unit, his voice shrill with annoyance.
"What did I say about shutting your mouth, Indust? I'm working on it." Batros's curt reply snapped back before he abruptly hung up. Indust then saw a familiar golden blur: She-Ra, leaping directly in his direction. He pulled a folded-up rifle from his back, the weapon snapping open with a series of clicks. He looked through the scope, aiming, about to fire, when suddenly he felt the ground rumble violently beneath him. A massive, luminous flower burst out from the ground, its petals unfurling to reveal Glimmer, Bow, and Perfuma emerging from its core. She-Ra landed near them, her presence radiating power.
Several soldiers and hulking robots charged to attack them, but they were no match. A devastating combination of She-Ra’s raw strength, Glimmer's explosive magic, Bow's precision skills, and the relentless, ever-growing plants and vines Perfuma summoned, made short work of the defenders. Bow, ever the tactician, fired explosive arrows at several large containers in the foundry, causing a chain reaction of devastating explosions that ripped through the facility.
Several vines tried to grab Batros, but he moved with surprising speed, cutting through several with his knife and breaking free from others that ensnared him. With a powerful beat of his large wings, he launched himself into the air, flying swiftly to the very top of the base.
"Hordak. This is Batros. Indust screwed this operation up. There's no saving it, and the Rebels are bringing the place down." he said into his comm. He listened intently to Hordak’s response, his expression unreadable. "And my pay?" he asked, a hint of his mercenary nature surfacing even in defeat. The response came in swiftly. "Understood." He grunted, then switched the comm channel. "All Horde personnel, evacuate the base, we're abandoning this dump."
As the remaining Horde workers and soldiers scrambled to evacuate, more and more plants kept rising up, reclaiming the land, crushing robots and dismantling the industrial machines that had torn apart Plumeria. Indust gritted his teeth, a desperate snarl on his face, and ran out of his office, scrambling towards the roof. He reached a landing pad just as the last dropship was lifting off, its engines roaring.
"WAIT! WAIT! I'M STILL DOWN HERE, YOU FOOLS!" He shrieked, waving his arms frantically. A large platform of vines, summoned by Perfuma, then rose swiftly to the landing pad, She-Ra, and the other rebels standing on it. Indust, in a last-ditch effort, aimed his cane and began to shoot energy blasts from it, but She-Ra moved with impossible speed. She quickly grabbed him, lifting him effortlessly into the air.
"Alright, you're going to tell us about The Horde’s future operations." She-Ra said, her voice firm and unwavering.
"You really think I would say anything to you? Do you have ANY idea who I am!?" he blustered defiantly, trying to maintain a semblance of his former arrogance...before She-Ra casually picked up his metal cane and crushed it in her hand like it was nothing but a flimsy twig.
"I..." he stammered, his eyes wide with shock, before letting out a defeated sigh. "What do you want to know?" he asked, all defiance gone.
"Everything you know." She-Ra narrowed her eyes, her gaze piercing.
"Fine, I'll talk, just don't hurt me," Indust relented, his voice a pathetic whimper. She-Ra and the others exchanged triumphant smiles, victory within their grasp...before Indust suddenly yelped in a sharp, agonizing cry. Adora looked back at him in surprise, seeing that a dart had been shot into his back. Indust then screamed, a chilling, guttural sound, as his skin began to rapidly decay and wither. His body became a gray, shriveled husk before crumbling apart entirely, dissolving into a pile of dust on the floor. All that remained was his suit, his monocle, and the fine, gray powder. She-Ra and the others stared, horrified and stunned by what had just occurred in front of them.
Far away, Batros stood on a high, rocky ledge, his rifle still aimed towards the now-empty landing pad.
"Told ya I'd shut your mouth for you," Batros smirked, a cold satisfaction in his voice. With a powerful beat of his wings, he launched himself into the air, flying swiftly towards one of the retreating Horde dropships, entering it just as it vanished into the smoggy sky.
Later that evening, the air in Plumeria, though still tinged with the lingering scent of smoke, was filled with the joyous sounds of celebration. A large feast was held in honor of the destruction of the Horde foundry, the flickering light of bonfires replacing the grim glow of industrial fires.
"I can't thank you enough for saving our home," Fragran smiled warmly at Glimmer, her eyes filled with genuine gratitude.
"Of course, Queen Fragran, it was our pleasure," Glimmer replied, her own smile bright.
"As agreed, Plumeria will aid in Rebellion efforts however it can," Fragran declared, her voice carrying across the festive gathering.
"And I'll be staying at Castle Brightmoon as a representative." Perfuma spoke up, her face alight with excitement.
Bow, ever observant, noticed Adora standing a distance away from the others, her posture a little slumped, looking a lot more distressed than everyone else. He approached her, his brow furrowed with concern.
"What's wrong?" Bow asked softly.
"I would have honored my promise," Adora sighed, her gaze fixed on the celebratory bonfire. "I tried to capture him alive, to question him...only for him to die right in front of my eyes."
"There's no way we could have seen that coming, Adora. That wasn't your fault. You still helped free Plumeria." Bow reassured her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Ah, good She-Ra. Good She-Ra." A high-pitched, childlike voice chirped from above them. Adora and Bow looked up in surprise to see Lavender hanging upside down from a nearby tree branch, his shades still firmly in place.
"Uh...t-thanks," Adora stammered, still a little unnerved by his antics.
Lavender then smiled, slowly turning his head directly to Adora. The light from the bonfire, filtering through the leaves, made his eyes visible behind the dark lenses. His voice, when he spoke, was deep, resonant, and entirely unlike his usual high-pitched babble.
"Thank you for saving my home," he said, his smile genuine and profound. "You truly live up to your legend." Adora and Bow exchanged a stunned glance. They had no words for Lavender suddenly speaking with such clarity and gravitas. Lavender then gracefully leaped off the branch and landed silently on the ground.
"Okay! Bye bye~" he chirped, his voice instantly reverting to its high-pitched, childlike tone, as he skipped away into the throng of celebrating Plumerians.
Adora and Bow stared at each other for a few seconds, their expressions a mixture of confusion and bewildered amusement, before sharing a chuckle. They had no idea what the deal with this place was, or the quirks of its royal family, but at the end of the day...it was best to just appreciate the allies they had and worry about how they act later.
"Well, I suppose we should head back to Castle Brightmoon—Ah!" Bow let out a high-pitched, startled yelp, as he felt a sudden, firm slap against his butt. Glaring over his shoulder, he and Adora saw Colin standing behind them, a wide, unrepentant grin on his face.
"You got a nice butt too, dude! Almost as good as that chubby girl!" Colin smiled at him casually, completely unfazed by Bow's glare. Bow's face flushed, and he let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through his hair.
"This is going to be a challenge..." Bow muttered, as Adora stifled a laugh beside him.

Chapter Text
Scorpia walked down the cold, metallic halls of The Fright Zone, the sterile air doing little to calm the unease in her heart. She had been tasked with gathering Catra and her squad to Shadow Weaver's chambers, a summons that always felt heavy with unspoken tension. She knocked on the reinforced door to Catra's room, her claws making a dull thud against the steel.
"Catra? Shadow Weaver wants the squad to..." Scorpia began, pushing the door open cautiously. The sight within made her pause. Catra was sprawled on her bed, her face looking haggard, tired, and utterly disconnected, a vacant stare fixed on the ceiling. Scattered across the rumpled sheets were several women in various states of undress, all of whom were still deeply asleep, oblivious to the morning's harsh light.
"Shadow Weaver wants us, huh?" Catra rasped, her voice rough, a stark contrast to her usual sharp tone. She reached for a nondescript bottle on her nightstand, took a long, deliberate swig, and then placed it back with a dull clink. Without another word, she swung her legs off the bed, her movements stiff, and began to pull on her uniform, her gaze never lingering on the sleeping figures. She walked out the door, leaving the silent, cluttered room behind.
"Um, who are they?" Scorpia asked, her brow furrowed with a mix of confusion and genuine concern, glancing back at the women.
"People who did what I paid them to do, nothing more," Catra said, her voice flat, devoid of emotion, as she continued walking off, leaving Scorpia to process the cold, transactional nature of the statement.
Scorpia and Catra made their way through the labyrinthine corridors, meeting up with the others—Grizzlor, Leech, Mantenna, and Entrapta—at Shadow Weaver's chambers. The air inside was thick with Shadow Weaver's dark magic, clinging to the ornate tapestries and shadowy corners.
"Good, you've arrived," Shadow Weaver purred, her voice a low, silken whisper, her long, clawed fingers idly stroking the sleek, green feathers of Styrax, who was on his perch next to her. "I called you here because Styrax found Adora, and I now know where she's heading."
"Yeah? And where's that?" Catra asked, a flicker of something, perhaps a dark anticipation, finally sparking in her tired eyes.
"They are going to Salineas. To recruit that kingdom to the Rebellion, no doubt," Shadow Weaver explained, a hint of disdain in her voice.
"Ooh, Salineas. I've heard that's a land of lookers," Entrapta chirped, a wide, unconcerned smile on her face, already pulling out a small, whirring device from her hair.
"Alright, let's go," Catra said, her jaw tightening, the mission providing a grim focus to her restless energy. She turned sharply, and she and the squad headed out, leaving the oppressive shadows of Shadow Weaver's lair behind.
Bow, Glimmer, Adora, and Princess Perfuma arrived at the edge of The Crimson Waste, a vast, unforgiving network of scorched deserts and desolate wastelands. The air shimmered with oppressive heat, and the distant, jagged peaks seemed to claw at the sky. This area was widely known as the worst, most inhospitable place on Etheria, a brutal scar on the planet's surface. Thankfully, they just needed to fly over most of it to reach the coastline, a narrow strip of land widely regarded to be the most civilized part of the Crimson Waste and the beginning of the borders of Salineas. Adora, having learned from her previous, rather dramatic, landing with Swift Wind, wisely decided to take a shuttle with the others this time around, its engines a steady hum against the vast silence of the desert.
As the shuttle descended, the dry, dusty air gradually gave way to the salty tang of the sea. "Okay, we're in Salineas, what now?" Adora asked Glimmer, scanning the horizon.
"This is just the section of Salineas that's open to visitors," Glimmer explained, gesturing towards the bustling port visible in the distance. "The main kingdom is... a bit more exclusive. We'll need to hire out help if we want to get to Princess Mermista."
"Yep, and I think I know just who," Perfuma smiled, a knowing glint in her eyes.
Out on the shimmering seas of Etheria, a large pirate ship, The Solar Sailor, cut through the waves with elegant grace. Its crew, a motley but efficient bunch, tended to the rigging and polished brass, their movements practiced and swift as the captain watched over them. The captain, a striking red-haired man with a long, flowing coat that billowed in the sea breeze, wore a shirt and pants designed to reveal a great deal of tanned, muscled skin. Despite the rough-and-tumble pirate lifestyle, the man was impeccably clean-shaven, save for a magnificently curled handlebar mustache that seemed to defy gravity. He rested his gloved hands on the polished wooden railing near the ship's wheel, his gaze sweeping over the bustling deck.
"We should be reaching port soon, Captain," said a short, portly man, Swen, expertly steering the ship.
"Excellent, Swen," smiled the Captain, Sea Hawk, his voice a theatrical flourish. The ship soon reached the bustling harbor, its sails neatly furled. The cargo was efficiently unloaded, and the crew, eager for shore leave, dispersed towards the lively sounds of "The Dragon's Daughter" bar.
Also at "The Dragon's Daughter" were Perfuma and the others, the raucous sounds of pirate revelry filling the air. The scent of stale ale, fried fish, and sea salt hung heavy.
"So... this Sea Hawk guy is here?" Bow asked, craning his neck to look over the heads of the boisterous crowd.
"Yep. This place is made for sailors and pirates to unwind," Perfuma said, navigating them through the throng of boisterous oceaneers, all drinking, eating, and overall de-stressing after long days out at sea. The atmosphere was thick with laughter, shanties, and the occasional clang of tankards.
"How do you even know this guy?" Adora asked Perfuma, a hint of skepticism in her voice.
"He's Mermista's boyfriend, so if there's anyone who can take us to her, it's him," Perfuma explained, her smile widening as her eyes landed on their target. "Ah, there he is!" she exclaimed, spotting Sea Hawk in a secluded booth seat in the corner, his feet propped up on the table, casually smoking a pipe, Swen sitting next to him with a frothy pint.
"Sea Hawk!" Perfuma called out, her voice cutting through the din as she practically ran towards him, her floral dress swaying.
"Perfuma! Long time no see. What brings such a radiant flower to this humble?" Sea Hawk smiled.
"I came to see you, actually. These are my new friends, Adora, Bow, and Glimmer," Perfuma said, gesturing to them with a warm smile.
"Glimmer? Princess Glimmer of Brightmoon?" Sea Hawk questioned, his theatricality momentarily replaced by genuine recognition.
"Correct, and we're here to ask for your aid," Glimmer stated, trying to sound formal and authoritative, despite the chaotic surroundings.
"My aid, huh? Very well, though be warned, Princess, I do not work for free," Sea Hawk said, a glint of shrewdness in his eyes.
"We need you to take us to where Princess Mermista is," Glimmer said, getting straight to the point.
"Ah, Mermista, my darling sea spirit... I'm willing to take Perfuma to her for free, but it will cost the rest of you," Sea Hawk replied, his gaze lingering affectionately in the direction of Salineas.
"What? Why just us?" Adora asked, surprised by the sudden financial demand.
"Because Perfuma and I are friends, but I still have a ship and crew to maintain, and that isn't cheap," Sea Hawk replied, pulling out a crisp piece of paper and a quill pen from his coat. With a flourish, he scribbled something down, then handed the paper to Glimmer.
"HOW MUCH!?" Glimmer gasped, gawking at the astronomical figure on the paper in utter disbelief, her eyes wide.
"I'm afraid that's my only offer," Sea Hawk said, his smile unwavering, a master of negotiation.
"It's okay, Glimmer, I'll just go alone." Perfuma offered, her voice gentle, willing to sacrifice her own presence on the team for the mission.
"No, no... it's important we do this mission right. Alright, your fee will be paid, AFTER we recruit Mermista," Glimmer said, her jaw set with determination, making a calculated gamble.
Sea Hawk's smile widened, a flash of gold in the dim light. "Swen, tell the men to ready the ship!"
Adora stood on the deck of The Solar Sailor, staring out onto the vast, shimmering expanse of the ocean in absolute amazement. She had never seen the oceans before, only heard about them in hushed whispers and fleeting stories. She was awed by the sheer, boundless beauty in the seemingly endless blue plains, the horizon stretching infinitely before them, a world entirely new and breathtaking.
"Looks pretty beautiful, doesn't it?" Glimmer smiled, joining her at the railing, her own gaze sweeping across the waves.
"Yeah... I've never seen this before..." Adora said, her voice soft with wonder, her eyes wide with discovery.
"The sea is quite wonderful, but it can also be quite dangerous. You never know what it may throw at you," Sea Hawk said, appearing beside them, his voice a low, knowing rumble, a hint of gravitas in his usual theatricality.
"Does The Horde even operate here?" Adora asked, her mind immediately shifting to the ever-present threat.
"No, they don't like getting their feet wet," Sea Hawk smirked, a flash of disdain for their land-locked enemies. "They just rely on the many pirates to do any overseas work."
Out on the churning ocean, Catra and her squad were on another pirate ship, a grimy, heavily armored vessel cutting through the waves. On its deck, Catra was clearly miserable, her face a sickly green, clutching her stomach.
"Take it the sea's not your thing?" Grizzlor rumbled, his voice surprisingly gentle for his imposing size, as he watched her with a hint of amusement.
"Yeah... you could say that..." Catra groaned, leaning over the railing, a wave of nausea washing over her.
"Surprised you even took this mission," Leech said, glancing at his wrist computer, his tone flat.
"Nobody said it was gonna involve boat travel," Catra muttered, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm right here if you need comfort," Scorpia smiled, her large claw hovering awkwardly near Catra's shoulder, a beacon of genuine concern that Catra, in her misery, simply ignored.
"Is everything to your liking?" asked a voice, deep and gravelly. A man walked to them, a formidable figure with a gleaming robotic eye and long, dark brown hair, his long coat flowing in the wind. Admiral Scurvy, the undisputed leader of all pirate operations on Etheria, his presence radiating cold authority.
"Yeah... great..." Catra groaned, barely looking up.
"Good, because this will be a long trip," Scurvy said, a cruel satisfaction in his tone, his gaze already fixed on the distant horizon.
"Fine by me," Entrapta chirped, completely unbothered by the rocking ship or the grim conversation, as she basked spread-eagled in the sunlight in her underwear. Catra simply groaned more in response, the absurdity of the situation adding to her discomfort.
Admiral Scurvy looked onto the horizon, resting his mechanical hand on the rail, his robotic eye gleaming. Usually, someone of his stature was above mere transport missions, but as soon as he heard The Rebellion was looking for Mermista, he knew there was a high chance he'd find his old cabinboy and traitor, Sea Hawk. A grim smile touched his lips; this trip was about more than just capturing She-Ra.
Hours passed, the endless blue of the ocean stretching around them, until The Solar Sailor arrived at an island unlike any Adora had ever seen. It was a marvel of nature, dominated by massive, iridescent coral-looking structures that rose majestically from the water, forming spires and archways that shimmered in the sunlight. The ship docked smoothly at the island's natural harbor, and Glimmer's group disembarked with Sea Hawk.
"Ah, been too long since I've been here," Sea Hawk said, taking a deep, satisfied breath of the salty air as they were greeted by a stern-faced guard.
"Why have you come here?" the guard said, his voice wary.
"Hey, Starfish!" Perfuma smiled, waving cheerfully at the guard, completely disarming his official demeanor.
"Princess Perfuma, hey there! Come to visit Mermista?" Starfish replied, his stern expression softening into a genuine smile.
"You know it," Perfuma said, her voice warm. "My friends here are too."
"Hmm... very well, if you vouch for them," Starfish said, a hint of trust in his voice, before opening the main gates, revealing a path leading deeper into the coral city.
"Okay wow, this is a lot easier than I expected," Adora said, genuinely surprised by the smooth entry.
"Mermista and I have been best friends since we were kids, so I know my way around," Perfuma smiled, her eyes twinkling.
"Wait, so why did we hire Sea Hawk because of his connection to her?" Bow asked, a puzzled expression on his face.
"Better chances of convincing her, duh," Perfuma smiled, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"Indeed. With both me and Perfuma, I'm sure you can recruit her easily," Sea Hawk added.
The group entered the main throne room, a cavernous space carved from iridescent coral, where a woman was sitting on a throne, her face looking utterly unwelcoming, a perpetual expression of mild annoyance etched onto her features.
"Hey. What are you doing here?" she asked in a flat, deadpan voice, her gaze barely shifting.
"Hey Mermista!" Perfuma smiled, rushing forward to embrace her friend.
"Hey," Mermista said, her tone not changing in the slightest, though she allowed the hug.
"Hello, my dear Mermista," Sea Hawk said, bowing with a dramatic flourish.
"Oh hey, you're here... took your time to see me again, huh?" Mermista said, a hint of passive-aggressive affection in her flat tone.
"The life of a pirate is a busy one," Sea Hawk chuckled.
"Um, Princess Mermista, I'm Princess Glimmer of Brightmoon," Glimmer interjected, stepping forward with a respectful bow, "are the king and queen here?"
"My parents are away right now. What do you want?" she said, glancing over them with a bored expression.
"Well, we were hoping to recruit Salineas to The Rebellion."
"And... why should I say yes?" Mermista asked bluntly, her eyes half-lidded.
"To free Etheria from Horde control," Glimmer said, her voice earnest.
"The Horde doesn't bother Salineas, and joining just sounds like opening my home to war," Mermista countered, her logic cold and unyielding.
"So what? You'll just let The Horde continue subjugating this planet?" Adora asked, her voice rising with indignation, unable to comprehend such apathy.
"I'm sorry, who's the blonde girl? And the hooded guy for that matter?" Mermista asked, her gaze drifting over Adora and Bow as if they were furniture.
"This is Adora, she's She-Ra," Glimmer explained, trying to impress upon her the gravity of Adora's presence.
"And I'm Bow... I'm just me," Bow said, offering a small, slightly awkward wave.
"This girl? Is the legendary She-Ra?" Mermista said, raising an eyebrow, a flicker of something akin to mild surprise in her otherwise impassive face.
"It's true, I've seen it myself," Perfuma affirmed, stepping forward.
"Yeah... that's not really convincing. So if you could just... leave. That would be great," Mermista said, waving a dismissive hand, her decision seemingly final. Just as the words left her lips, a loud, concussive explosion rocked the palace.
"What was that?" Perfuma asked, her serene expression finally breaking into alarm. Glimmer, quick as thought, used her magic to teleport everyone outside the palace, where they could see the magnificent coral structures being violently bombarded by the cannons of a massive, heavily armed pirate ship.
"Oh dear... that's not good," Sea Hawk said, his usual bravado replaced by genuine concern. "That's Scurvy's ship."
"Why are pirates attacking!?" Mermista demanded, her deadpan voice finally laced with genuine anger as her kingdom came under fire.
Suddenly, a small, sleek hovercraft detached from Scurvy's ship and zipped towards the island, Catra and her group leaping from it before it even fully landed.
"Catra?" Adora asked, her voice a mix of disbelief and a familiar pang of recognition.
"Yep. Miss me, Adora?" Catra smiled, a predatory gleam in her eyes, though a faint green tinge to her face betrayed her lingering seasickness.
"Grizzlor? Leech? Mantenna? Scorpia? Entrapta? What is all this?" Adora demanded, her gaze sweeping over the familiar faces of her former comrades.
"My own squad, we're here to bring you back to The Horde," Catra declared, her voice laced with a bitter triumph.
Adora pulled out her sword, its gemstone pulsing with golden light, and yelled out, "For the Honor of Grayskull!" before she transformed into her tall, powerful She-Ra form, radiating golden energy that momentarily pushed back the gloom.
"Woah..." Mermista said, her deadpan expression finally breaking into genuine awe as she witnessed Adora's transformation into She-Ra, the sheer power undeniable.
Catra's group and Adora's group clashed, the peaceful island erupting into a chaotic battleground.
The moment She-Ra transformed, Catra's eyes narrowed, a mixture of fury and a flicker of something akin to awe crossing her face.
"Still surprised you can do that," she snarled, lunging forward with impossible speed. She-Ra met her head-on, the clash of their forms a jarring impact. Catra's claws, usually precise and swift, raked against She-Ra's armor, leaving faint sparks but no damage. She-Ra swung her glowing sword, forcing Catra to leap back, her feline agility allowing her to dodge the powerful blow by mere inches. Catra then darted low, aiming a vicious kick at She-Ra's knee, but She-Ra simply braced, absorbing the impact with a grunt, her sheer mass preventing any real displacement.
"Give it up, Catra! You don't have to do this!" She-Ra urged, trying to reason even as she parried another flurry of claws with her forearm, a desperate hope in her voice.
"Yes, I do!" Catra defiantly hissed back, her voice raw with emotion, her attacks growing more desperate and wild, fueled by a deep-seated pain.
Glimmer, still reeling from the sudden attack, teleported just as Entrapta's metallic hair tendrils lashed out, narrowly missing her.
"Hey! Watch the hair!" Glimmer snapped, her hands already crackling with vibrant pink energy. She unleashed a volley of glittering energy blasts, forcing Entrapta to weave and duck, her tendrils moving with surprising speed to deflect some of the projectiles.
"Ooh, fascinating energy signatures!" Entrapta chirped, completely unfazed by the danger, her tendrils attempting to grab Glimmer, not to harm, but to study her, her eyes alight with scientific curiosity. Glimmer teleported again, appearing behind Entrapta, and unleashed a powerful burst of magic that sent the eccentric scientist tumbling, her tendrils flailing wildly.
Bow, quick on his feet, dodged a searing beam from Mantenna's multiple eyes, the coral ground where he'd stood moments before smoking from the intense heat. Bow drew an arrow, his aim true. He fired, but Mantenna's eyes tracked it easily, firing a precise counter-beam that vaporized the arrow mid-air. Just then, he used his bow to block a lightning-fast strike from Scorpia's massive claws. Scorpia using her great strength to nearly pin him against a coral pillar. He twisted, narrowly avoiding her venomous stinger, and rolled away. Bow then fired a volley of non-lethal, net-tipped arrows at Mantenna, trying to ensnare him.
"You must be Grizzlor. Heard about you. Must say the rumors about you look to be true," Sea Hawk smirked, grappling with the massive bear-man.
"Yeah? Let's see if yours are true too," Grizzlor snarled, his voice a guttural growl, as he lifted Sea Hawk effortlessly and threw him towards a jagged coral formation. Sea Hawk gracefully twisted in mid-air, landing lightly and unsheathing his gleaming laser rapier, its blade humming with energy.
Leech, sleek and fast, darted towards Mermista, aiming a precise, draining strike. Mermista, her deadpan expression unwavering despite the impending attack, simply raised a hand. A torrent of water erupted from the ground, forming a powerful, swirling vortex that slammed into Leech, sending him skidding across the coral-like ground with a wet thud.
"Ugh, gross," Mermista muttered, wiping a single drop of water from her face, clearly annoyed by the interruption to her day. Leech, recovering quickly, lunged again, but Mermista, now fully engaged, commanded the water around her, creating whips of liquid that lashed out, keeping Leech at bay with effortless control.
Perfuma, meanwhile, made giant, resilient flower shields sprout from the ground to protect her allies from incoming fire. She also conjured bursts of fragrant pollen that disoriented and temporarily blinded some of the pirate crew from Scurvy's ship, adding to the general confusion and giving her friends a crucial advantage. Perfuma began to concentrate and use her powers with renewed intensity. Large, powerful streams of sea kelp began to rise from the churning water, forming a living barrier that both blocked cannon shots from the pirate ship and began to attack the ship itself, its tendrils wrapping around the hull. Admiral Scurvy and his crew worked frantically on trying to cull the relentless, growing plants.
Mermista, seeing her kingdom under direct assault, slammed her trident into the ground with a resounding thud, her eyes glowing with an intense, aquamarine light. Large torrents of water rose up from the ocean, forming powerful, grasping tendrils that snatched Catra and her entire squad from their positions on the island, before throwing them back directly onto the deck of the pirate ship with a collective splash. She then summoned massive waves, colossal walls of water that forcefully carried the pirate ship away from the island, despite the ship's desperate attempts to fight against the overwhelming current. Finally, Mermista used the last of her abilities to raise up a colossal, shimmering wall of water from the ocean, extending high into the sky, completely surrounding the island, a protective, shimmering barrier. Mermista panted heavily, her body trembling with exertion, before collapsing onto the coral ground, utterly drained.
Mermista woke up with a groan in the throne room, the cool, smooth coral beneath her. She blinked, her eyes adjusting, and saw the others gathered around her, their faces etched with concern.
"Are you okay?" Glimmer asked softly, kneeling beside her.
"Yeah, I'm fine... except now The Horde knows where my home is," Mermista said, her voice still deadpan, but with a hint of fatigue. "Why I made that wall."
"We saw, that was amazing," Perfuma said, her eyes wide with genuine admiration.
"Thanks... so I guess I now have no choice but to join you. Doubt The Horde's gonna forget what I did there," Mermista said, pushing herself up, her decision made out of grim necessity rather than enthusiasm.
"If you'd like, you can stay at Brightmoon," Glimmer offered, a hopeful smile on her face.
"Yeah, not happening," Mermista said, getting to her feet, though her legs still felt a little wobbly. "My parents are still away, so that means I'm in charge." She took a step, then stumbled, her strength not fully returned. Sea Hawk attempted to catch her, resulting in them both falling and rolling onto the floor in a tangle of limbs.
"Mermista, are you alright?" Sea Hawk asked, untangling himself, his voice filled with concern.
"Mermista! We're home!" shouted out a booming voice, filled with theatrical flair. "Hey, why is there a wall around the palace?" asked an incredibly feminine man, resplendent in shimmering robes and adorned with pearls, as he theatrically entered the throne room, his eyes wide with dramatic surprise... only to see Mermista and Sea Hawk in a compromising position that looked very much like Sea Hawk had Mermista pinned to the floor. The man simply stared blankly at this for a few seconds, his expression unreadable, before a wide, mischievous grin spread across his face. He strode purposefully towards the two, his grin still firmly in place... before he grabbed Sea Hawk by the scruff of his neck and, with surprising strength, tossed him into a nearby coral wall with a resounding thud.
"Are you okay, my little Sea Sprite?" the man asked, immediately turning his attention to Mermista, his voice dripping with paternal concern, completely ignoring the groaning Sea Hawk.
"Uh, yeah, dad... that sounded like you threw him pretty hard," Mermista said, her deadpan tone unwavering, even as she rubbed her arm.
"Oh, it's nothing. Now then, before we discuss anything further..." he said, his gaze still fixed on Mermista, before he walked over to Sea Hawk, who was slowly picking himself up, and placed his foot firmly on Sea Hawk's chest, pinning him back down. "Who is this man who thinks he can touch my Mermista so casually?"
"Dad, wait, that's Sea Hawk... he's my boyfriend," Mermista admitted, a faint blush creeping onto her cheeks. Despite their long-standing relationship, she realized with a pang that she had never actually introduced him to her parents.
"Your boyfriend, you say? And this boyfriend never thought to see your own father before seeing you?" he asked, his foot still firmly planted on Sea Hawk's chest, his voice a theatrical blend of indignation and wounded pride.
"Mermista, who are these people and why is there a wall around the palace?" asked a new voice, calm and measured, cutting through the dramatic tension. A woman entered, who looked strikingly similar to Mermista, and even possessed a similar, though perhaps slightly less pronounced, deadpan attitude.
"I was going to explain that, mom, before dad attacked my boyfriend," Mermista explained, her exasperation palpable.
"Queen Mariana. I'm Princess Glimmer of Bright Moon," Glimmer interjected smoothly, stepping forward and bowing respectfully, "we came here to recruit Salineas to The Rebellion, and thanks to your daughter, we were able to push back a Horde attack on your palace."
"Hmm... so it seems our neutrality is now void... very well. Salineas will support in Rebellion efforts now that we have no other choice, and Mermista will stay with you as an ambassador," Queen Mariana said, her voice flat but firm, her decision purely pragmatic.
"Absolutely not, I will not send my little angel fish to stay with strangers!" her father, King Triston, declared, finally taking his foot off Sea Hawk, his face contorted in dramatic protest.
"You may go with her then, Triston," Mariana said, her voice unwavering, "I can run things here myself."
"And I may need to join too," Sea Hawk said, carefully getting to his feet, rubbing his chest. "My crew and I will likely have targets now that we've helped you. Might as well lay low somewhere safe."
"Thank you, Queen Mariana, I promise you will not regret this," Glimmer smiled, bowing deeply, relieved at the unexpected success.
"Be sure that I don't," Mariana said, her expression unchanging, a subtle warning in her tone.
"Indeed. And as for you," Triston said, his grin returning as he grabbed Sea Hawk by the collar and lifted him effortlessly into the air, "Do not think for one second that because you are Mermista's boyfriend I will in any way accept you, you dirty little pirate. I will not see some sea snake harm my baby girl."
"I'm an adult, dad..." Mermista said, a faint sigh escaping her.
"You'll always be my little guppy in MY eyes, dear," Triston smiled, his grip on Sea Hawk's collar still firm, a paternal, slightly embarrassing affection in his voice.
Adora, Glimmer, Bow, Perfuma, Mermista, Triston, and Sea Hawk arrived at Brightmoon Castle by shuttle, the grand spires a welcoming sight. The castle staff, accustomed to unusual arrivals by now, efficiently helped Mermista and Triston, who was already striking dramatic poses, away to their assigned quarters.
"The Rebellion is growing more and more thanks to your efforts," Angella said to Glimmer, her voice filled with pride, embracing her daughter.
"Thanks, mom," Glimmer smiled, basking in the praise. "Oh, also... since we needed to hire Sea Hawk to take us to Mermista, here is the bill he gave us."
Glimmer handed the piece of paper to Angella, who took it with a serene smile. Her eyes scanned the numbers, and then, slowly, they went wide with utter disbelief, her jaw dropping at the exorbitant price. The sound of a muffled scream echoed through the grand hall.
