Work Text:

Chester was laying on the couch, bandages wrapped around his ankle resting on a pillow as he just scrolled through his phone.

He was bored. But, it's not like he could go out, not with this broken ankle of his.

He would've gone to the hospital for what he was sure was a fractured ankle after stepping in a hole, but… He had no health insurance. Hospital bills are a scary world when you don't have any aid, and he wasn't ready to deal with that just yet… Maybe when he was 30. No amount of Parker's begging could convince him either.

So, now he was just waiting for something to happen at home. Maybe Parker would get a new email and he'd hobble around on his broken ankle. Or, Parker would ramble about not finding a girlfriend anywhere, Chester liked to hear about that. Well, Chester liked anything Parker talked about…

Or, he just liked Parker in general. That was probably it. Anything he said was good enough for Chester, even if he was putting him down, only because it was Parker who said it.

Suddenly, Chester heard the familiar click of the front door unlocking, putting his phone down on his chest as he watched Parker come inside.

"Hi dude," Chester waved to him.

Parker just groaned as he walked to the couch, sitting by Chester's head, "Dude… Have you been laying here all day?"

"Yeah. I mean, what else am I supposed to do about this?" Chester grabbed onto his leg and shook it a bit before hissing in pain at his mistake, placing it slowly back down on the pillow.

"I told you we should go to the hospital…" Parker told him as he lowered his leg.

"I told you, dude, I don't have health insurance! It'll heal by itself. I just need to rest."

"And how long is that going to take?"

"I don't know. I read that it takes like two weeks to heal up though."

"That means two weeks of jobs without you."

"Wh- No-" Chester got offended by such a statement, he couldn't even dare to think that Parker would say something like that. An investigation, without him? Nobody would watch the video if only Parker was in it, and besides, it'd be way more dangerous without his help. "There's no way you're going to any strange houses without me. You'd die without me."

"I would not," Parker protested.

"Well, our views would die without me. Besides, you only do investigations for the girls," Chester went back to scrolling on his phone, Parker watching as they spoke.

"I told you that I care for what happens to these people."

"Yeah, well, why do you always get so mad when a girl we're trying to save is dating another dude? You always complain about it to me…"

"It's natural to be disappointed that someone so close to a client won't come to help them."

"You're just sad that you can't get a girlfriend."

"Is it bad that I am? It's normal to want to have a partner. Lots of people are single and want one."

"You could sign up for a dating site."

"You know those don't work for me."

"You tried them twice. Bro, don't you think at least one more try is worth it if you're so desperate?"

"I'm not desperate." Parker sounded actually annoyed now.

"Whatever. Nobody probably gets with you because they think we're dating anyways."

"What? Why would they think that?"

Chester could list quite a lot of things that made it seem so, like the fact that they live together, that they go together almost everywhere, but he decided to list one of the most obvious signs instead, putting his phone on his chest as he looked up at Parker.

"Probably because we sleep in the same bed."

Parker was a little taken aback by this assertion, clearly written on his shocked face. "Well, the guest rooms usually only have one bed. I'm sure anyone would share a bed with their roommate if there was only one."

"Most people would have someone sleep on the floor."

"That's just rude. We both deserve the bed."

"Yeah, you're right." Back to scrolling. "Maybe if girls aren't working though, you can try boys."

"Uhm, no thanks dude."

"Why not? Not attracted to them at all? Or are you too scared to kiss another guy?"

Parked chuckled. "Why would I be scared? I'm just not into guys is all."

"Are you sure? I thought so too before I kissed one."

"Wait, what? You never told me you kissed someone before."

"Well, I don't like the guy anymore, so it doesn't even matter."

"Alright… But, if I were to test your little theory, who would I even kiss?"

"You could kiss me."

Chester mentioned it so casually, like it was the first answer to come to mind, leaving Parker speechless for a few seconds.

"... Kiss you?"

"I don't have a disease or anything… But, yeah, bro! It's just to see if you like it or not, nothing too weird. Doesn't matter if you do or don't like it, we'll still be friends."

"Are you being serious?"

"If you don't want to, I won't force you. Just saying."

Parker took a few seconds to think it over. Chester was being serious… And he did wonder what Chester experienced when he kissed a guy. It couldn't be that bad... Besides, he's probably only into women and Chester will understand.

"... Okay."

"Wait, what?" Chester did a double take on what Parker said, before putting his phone by his side and quickly sitting up, facing Parker so they were eye level.

"I said we can try it. But, only because I'm curious!"

Chester blinked. He was not expecting a yes. Rather, he was expecting Parker to call him weird, pass it off in amusement, and continue with their chat. This was a new development… And Chester wasn't going to not take advantage of it.

"... Come closer then, I can't really move."

And Parker did scoot closer, close enough for the both of them to hold each other, to put their heads together, to connect their lips.

But, instead, they stared awkwardly, only sharing the air with one another.

But, finally, Chester reached one of his hands over to grab Parker's shoulder, staring for a few more moments before starting to lean his head towards Parker's.

Parker embraced for the impact, opening his mouth and closing his eyes tight, tensing under Chester's touch before they made contact.

Parker realized it wasn't all that different from kissing women. The same soft lips, the same breathlessness, the same spit being swapped. And then he realized… It wasn't different from kissing women and he liked it.

He allowed the kiss to go on longer than it should've however. He hadn’t kissed anyone in so long, it was nice… Before Chester pulled away first, letting go of Parker's shoulder immediately and giving him space.

Parker blushed, opening his eyes and staring at Chester, flabbergasted as Chester started to blush slightly himself. Then he asked, "Do you think you liked it?"

Parker didn't know how to respond. Because he did like it, and he wanted to do it again, maybe a thousand times more just like with any girl he's loved, and he knew Chester wouldn't judge him, but…

He wanted to do it again with him.

He knew Chester was gay, but… There was no way he was interested in him. They slept in the same bed for God's sake and never once did Chester make a move on him.

But, he had to be truthful.

"I did."

"See? I told you. Never judge a book by its cover."

"Does this mean I'm going to have to start flirting with guys too?"

"... No?" Chester huffed in amusement at the joke. "Besides, most of the guys we meet are lunatics."

Parked sighed in relief, amusing Chester.

"So, I guess I'm gay," Parker announced.

Chester nodded. "Are we gonna start answering emails from guys too now?" He asked.

Parked looked unamused. "You're still talking about that?"

"Maybe," Chester responded, "Because we won't stop going until you get yourself a boyfriend or girlfriend."

"I do care about our clients."

Chester doubted that. "Sure." He laid himself back down now, going back to his phone.

Parker just shook his head in disbelief at the nerve of the guy.
