Work Text:

"Hey Craig, do you ever think about getting married?"

He's not sure why the question came to mind, like sure. He'd thought about it multiple times, whenever marriage or weddings were discussed around him, he'd suddenly think of Craig.

But now? Nothing of the sort was their topic of conversation. The last thing they said before the silence was about car crashes, which Craig turned into a question about oranges.

Not sure why, but he'd always imagined the wedding during the night. A time the other boy enjoyed, he'd be with the shine of warm lanterns hitting his face.

It's one of the few things that Tweek imagined, under the covers with his hands trembling and eyes clenched shut, that his mind didn't make a catastrophe off of!

"Yeah, I thought about it once." Oh, that's pretty cool. Usually Tweek's the only one thinking strange things. That's, cool .

Tweeks mind feels strangely blank. Did he mention he'd thought about it too? Maybe he should mention it again.

Cause he did, think about it, slightly.

"I was getting married with you," Now that scared him, he didn't think Craig would elaborate, he usually never does, it was very sudden and unexpected.

Also WHAT?! His heart started beating faster, maybe he's getting sick maybe he should just, yknow, go home. Maybe if he gets Craig sick his mom will never want to see him again. And that means he'll never see Craig again and he'llmiss him somuch- Ohjesuschrist- That's way toOMUCHRESSURE! NGGH,,

Or, at least that last bit is what he supposed would've left his lips had Craig not kept going.

"I think it was a dream but i really liked it." Which made his brain short-circuit a slow antagonising second before the words clicked.

"OHGODTHATS WAYTOOMUCH PRESSURE!! OH JESUS CHRIST OH-GHH- OH GOD." Does that mean Craig wants to marry him?! Him?! Even when Craig is so cool and confident?? Would he even want to be with Tweek if he doesn't start being more coherent?! And he wouldn't be opposed if the boy was hundred percent sure about it… but so many things could go wrong! jesus.

Even with his gaze fixated on the ground where his books lay around, he could never miss the warm hands that are touching his own, Which, Tweek noticed now, were on his head pulling his hair.

When looking up he noticed Craig's face was much closer than he thought it was but it gave Tweek a moment to observe those odd coloured eyes… they always looked cool.

"Sorry Honey," and his insides already stirred, calmed down and turned into goo. It's similar to that one time he drank 5 pots of coffee. "I didn't mean to make you freak out. It's not to force you to marry me." He turned his head away. Now breaking their staring, yet he knows it's not for shame or anything, just something else that caught his attention. "Just thought I'd mention it."

He really wants to make Craig happy right now. But the things that would make him happy are not in reach. The other boy rarely smiles but one that has a long lasting impression on him was when he kissed his hand.

Tweek remembers fully thinking it would cure the other boy by all the stories he was told. But in a heartbreaking moment past him realized it wasn't doing anything and the injury hadn't gone away. He feared Craig would've hated him. Yet, when he looked up he saw a starstruck expression still looking at the kissed hand. Every thought vanished in a moment.

But he can't do that.

Because that would be gay.

And right now they're supposed to not be gay. They're just supposed to be friends.

"Fuck no! I want to marry you! "

Both their eyes widened for different reasons.

"gaAAAHH! OHGOD IWASNTSUPPOSEDTOSAY THAT! OH- GGH- OH JESUS CHRIST! i need an escape ohgOD i can't do this- I- i- NGGHh-"

His face was stopped by two hands slapping both his cheeks and covering his mouth, pens, books, rubbers and blankets are now more of a mess than before, they both ignored it. Face to face with the reason for his despair he can't escape after all. Or that was what Craig thought.

Tweek unclenched his jaw and licked the other hand in a desperate attempt to escape. Craig would've jumped away had he not been ready for the action, as it had happened before in another fit of panic. But he simply grimaced at the feeling in his hand.

"Can i talk now? Thanks. I was saying that it's cool cause I guess i liked it, and also you're the only one i can imagine going through that torture with, so don't worry." Tweeks face was let go in the middle of the rant, he blushed slightly in embarrassment and shame seeing Craig grimace when wiping his hand on the blue jacket he currently wore.

"Oh."

"Yeah." Craig threw back. Usually Tweek's right about the life threatening things, so being wrong kinda fills him with ease.

"That's kinda- ghh- kinda gay Craig." He bent down to retrieve his notebook from where it was launched. They should've tecnically done their homework, and right now they should be supposedly asleep… fuck he's so glad Craig's family are all deep sleepers.

"i… I think that's kinda the point…?" Tweek is sure Craig's face would give more emotion than his voice does, but he's too busy doodling to see him.

A confused 'nhgh' escapes him. "But now we're supposed to be just friends."  Tweek stresses.

"No? Not that I remember. Why do you Think that?" To say he's flabbergasted would be an understatement. His scribbles begin to wobble.

"We- we… gghhh- We planned it out! To get the girls off of us!" The pen hit the wall as his hands waved in the air. Fuck he needs that pen.

After two more seconds of staring at a wall longingly the silence became heavier. His eyes widened. "Wait- Craig are you sure we didn't? I'mnotgoing crazyright?! I don'twanna go crazy! oh god then they'llsellme as a SLAVE! i don't want to - ghh- to be a slave Craig!"

Having his arms both stuck in Tweeks death grip did not make his brain work any faster or smarter. "... Maybe it was a dream?"

Tweeks eyed widened and Craig spotted his mistake. "WHAT?! OH JESUS CHRIST AM I GOING INSANE? U RGHH- I DONT WANNA GO INSANE CRAIG I DONT- OH GOD WHAT IF I ALREADY AM?! JESUS FUCK I DONT WANNA BE INSANE THEN YOU'LL HATE ME! GOD-" Now it was Craig who had him in a deathgrip by the shoulders.

"Shut up." Craig didn't notice the harshness of his voice, but he notice the twitch it caused in the other. He softened. "Cause i wouldn't hate you, and you're not insane or going insane, it happens to everyone. Cartman keeps thinking his world domination dreams are true," a snicker escapes his lips at the crushed expression he saw on the fucker.

"also Kenny keeps being a creep about something, and Clyde- Clyde keeps thinking his mom died the day before. So it happens." Craig finished.

"Did it happen to you too?"

"I usually don't dream, and if i do i just see the stars. … Can i let you go or will you try and run again?"

"No i- gghh- I'm- uh- better?"

"Oh, cool." He let's go. Everything would be more awkward if Craig didn't instantly pick back his journal to finish his sudoku. Tweek finds himself at ease more than he would be in any other place.

It's odd really, the way he's in so many circles of friends yet only with Craig he managed to feel at ease, even before the whole thing with the asians happened. He kinda wonders if Craig had felt the same. He could've simply not offered his hand when Tweek was walking to school. But he did.

His mind goes back to the fact that Craig actually likes him.

"Hey Craig?" an hum was given in response. "Can i hug you?" Another more high-pitched hum was given.

So he crawled next to the boy and gave him an awkward side hug.

He waited for a second looking at his paper and his scrawny yet legible writing of numbers and doodles around the paper.

"Would you really marry me?" In the second after he thought he made an error, it was simply supposed to be a thought, and then he thought he made an horrible unforgivable error cause Craig shoulders got more rigid and he tensed up. But that was only for a moment before everything swayed away from the disaster.

"Would you marry me?" Craig whipped the question back, Tweek wasn't able to see the other face at the moment, only his hand, the one with the pen.

"Yeah."

"Then i guess I'd do it for you."

Notes:

I think Craig would have a difficult relationship with the concept of marriage, even as a kid. Seeing as most of the couples in southpark suck and his parents specifically don't express their emotions much he'd think it as something odd that's supposed to end up badly, so he wouldn't want to. Yet if it makes hid silly bf happier right now that they can't marry each other? Sure he'll say it. But he doesn't want a tragedy to happen. He doesn't want tweek to go away, he'd like to stay bfs. (maybe the fandom slightly influenced me on this)

Also tweek would be really hopeful about it cause his parents are so fucking sappy and really together, he doesn't want to end up brainwashed like them but knowing that thanks to it Craig would suddenly love him more like his parents do would be so cool.

Also they're KIDS they're STUPID and don't know what to THINK , they don't have concrete thoughts yet just general ideas. Aight in done bye

hope you all liked it
