At that moment, the lights flare bright and then wink out. An electrical hum fills the air.
“What’s going on?” the guy cries, sounding hysterical.
A slow grin spreads across Uta’s face, giddiness filling him from head to toe.
“You,” he says, “are fucked.”
(Or, Uta pretends to get kidnapped so the front can catch someone they've been after for a bit. Renji doesn't take it well.)
