Summary
The only thing that had eaten away at [Izzy] was it was all so cliche, being the second in command and an omega. Of course most of the crew assumed that meant that he helped Blackbeard through his ruts, and unfortunately they weren't entirely wrong. Part of Izzy's job was helping Edward... when he went into heat. They were both omegas, and honestly the most important part of Izzy's job was helping to keep that a secret.
For the best, since it seemed that acting as an alpha for Edward all those years had made Izzy's own heats much more bearable.
