Chapter Text

Tobio watched from the entryway as Oikawa and Iwaizumi sank into the couch, Daichi and Suga doing the same on the opposite side of the living room. Tobio didn’t know what was going on or why Suga had heavily implied that he and Daichi walk him home from school this afternoon but now here they were. Sitting comfortably in Tobio’s living room making themselves at home.

Well… technically it was Iwaizumi and Oikawa’s apartment. Tobio was just staying there semi-permanently out of the kindness of their hearts or until the day the two Alpha’s got sick of his Pup and Omega bullshit, and kicked him to the curb.

Tobio tried to make himself look busy so that he wasn’t standing awkwardly by the front door like some creeper. He made his way into the kitchen that was adjacent to the living room  and occupied himself with a chopping board and a knife as he started preparations on putting together a tray of appetisers.

As he cut numerous fruits in odd and irregular shapes, he debated on what he should do after he finished his hand at entertaining his guests with food. Should he return to his room for the rest of the evening? Because it was obvious that Suga and Daichi were up to something fishy. And the last thing Tobio wanted was to be the one missing piece to their scheme. He had no doubt that Iwaizumi and Oikawa were in on it… whatever it was.

By the time he was done, he had butchered the fruits. There was a reason why he wasn’t allowed in the kitchen and why Iwaizumi was the one who cooked on a regular basis and why the dishes were left to either Oikawa or him at the end of the night.

So, as he washed up the cutting board and the utensils he had used, he realised that he had let the water run too long and could feel the many eyes on him from the living room. He needed to choose… fast. Before they started asking questions.

Finally, Tobio made a decision as he carried the tray of food into the lounge room and placed it gently on the coffee table. With a slight bow, he turned around and went to walk away, but…

“Wait, Tobio,” Suga called, and Tobio halted, his fingers beginning to shake in the presence of an older and more mature Omega. Tobio needed to distance himself before it was too late, “Join us.”

Instantly Tobio felt backed into the corner without even having to be. These four people, the ones who were currently sitting in his living room, were the ones that had witnessed all the drama that had gone down between him and his mother which had ultimately landed him in this predicament.

His mother had basically sold Tobio for sparse change. Iwaizumi had only needed to pull out a small bale of cash to have the Alpha female sign her son’s entire life over into the hands of the 2 Alpha males he hadn’t seen since junior high.

If it hadn’t been for them or Suga or Daichi, then who knows when or where his mother would have sold him. She probably would have gotten more on the blackmarket with him being a newly presented Omega, a mere week or 2. A Pup.

Tobio hadn’t forgotten anything about that day. He could vividly remember how vulnerable he had been in Suga’s arms as the older Omega held him tightly against his chest.

“I don’t want to be a–” Tobio mumbled, his words falling away at the lack of confidence he held, “I-i don’t know?” he spoke honestly, fingering the loose material of his Karasuno jumper. He didn’t know what he wanted.

“Hey,” Suga cooed, speaking to him like a child.

Tobio looked down at the ground.

“No Pup. Up here where I can see them.” Suga spoke firmly and Tobio obeyed without an ounce of complaint, eyes lifting till they locked with Suga’s ashen eyes, “you are okay.”

Tobio inhaled deeply, not realising that he had been holding his breath or that he had needed to hear those words of reassurance.

“We don’t bite,” Oikawa jokes with the intention of convincing Tobio that everyone was okay with him staying if he so decided before adding with a wink, “Unless you want me to?”

–slap–

It was quick. The noise loud and had come swiftly as Iwaizumi slapped the back of Oikawa’s head and the Alpha yelped, hands flying up to protect himself from the assault.

Tobio's facade cracked and he smiled.

He knew there were ulterior motives at play here. For what? He wasn’t sure but it took him only a second to realise that he wanted to stay, wanted to be included, wanted the option to be easy but he didn’t want to be too much. He had already burdened them enough.

So , he shook his head in a polite decline and went to walk away again, but Suga was on his feet instantly, grabbing him by the wrist and Tobio was brought to a sharp stop.

“Tobio,” Iwaizumi warned, no real threat behind his words but the clear intention was still there: Stay!

Tobio tried to argue back but the pheromones of the 3 Alphas were starting to overwhelm him and overpower his thought system. He looked at Suga for help and the other knew immediately what Tobio wanted to say but wouldn’t.

“You get to choose Tobio,” Suga told him.

Tobio knew it was a trap but it wasn’t like he hadn’t been struggling over these past few days. He needed this more than even he could comprehend. So he nodded, finally giving Suga the go ahead to do whatever he wished with him.

Suga nodded back, “I’ve got you.”

In an instant Tobio’s wary self was whisked off to the lone bean bag that was sanctioned in the corner of the room and it was there that he found himself wrapped up in the older Omega's arms.

Tobio stiffened, unintentionally. The sudden proximity of another person too vast for his body to comprehend where he ended and where the other began. His body was not used to being held in such a warm and caring embrace that his mind wasn’t able to separate the emotions from his flight response.

Suga somehow senses Tobio's inner turmoil and begins to hum a tune, and it is there that Tobios mind grows quiet. Without realising, a purr emerges out from the base of his throat taking even Tobio by surprise.

Suga’s humming comes to an abrupt halt and Tobio wants to curl into a ball. Embarrassed and unsure of where he stands in the world and within himself. Everything had change the day he had presented.

Tobio’s eyes begin to burn and he turns his head away from the room and slightly into the bean bag at his back.

But then Suga chirped, a sound reserved for Pups, and Tobio was proven wrong. Suga wasn’t displeased or disgusted by the noise but rather pleased as he began rocking their bodies back and forth, which helped to unbind Tobio stiffness even further, eventually leading the younger Omega to mellow out enough to where they were now curled around each other like yin and yang.

All hesitance that were there moments ago vanished and a feeling of fondness set over Tobio. He tried to figure out why but found that it didn’t actually matter and he just relaxed further into the feeling.

It was then that he felt it, the swift change rolling over him, no! I want you to stay back , Tobio told it, trying to keep his wolf at bay, but somehow Suga was luring it out.

On purpose.

Stay! Tobio tried again, but it did not listen.

The Alpha’s looked on in admiration from the couch. How could they not, after all, they were watching a special moment shared between Omegas. It honestly amazed them how Omegas could understand the need for emotional care more than any other dynamic. Naturally, they were more emotionally rich creatures, and felt things no Alpha or Beta could ever feel and with more intensity than they could ever imagine.

“No fair,” Oikawa pouted, kicking his feet, “I want to cuddle with Tobio!”

Grrrrr, ” Tobio growled.

All 3 Alphas stilled in their seats. Omegas rarely growled, their aggression coming out more in a hiss, but right now Tobio was somehow managing a growl and that scared them beyond words as they slowly turned their heads to the right.

And there on the floor where a bunch of aggressive pheromones were coming from, 2 crystallised eyes were glaring at them showing just how instinct-driven Tobio was and it was murderous intent that shone through, threatening them if they got too close.

“Mine!” Tobio said firmly, snuggling in closer to Suga’s side. It was clear that Oikawa’s comment had felt like a threat.

The Alpha’s gulped.

Suga however chuckled at the Pup's reaction, his eyes wide in wonder as he said in an attempt to relax the rigid boy, “those eyes of yours are so pretty.”

However, no compliment was going to make this Pup back down. Tobio’s eyes did not stray from the threat: the three Alphas, as he said again, Mine!”

Suga, overwhelmed by Tobio’s possessiveness, awed and threw himself into the boy's shoulder and began to scent the Pup, brushing back and forth along Tobio’s scent glands, starting on the left side and moving to the right.

Tobio tried hard to remain strong and firm against the Alpha’s that were threatening to take him from his Omega, but Suga’s gentle scent of Fresh Linen wasn’t helping him, instead, it made him want to snuggle back into the warmth and fall limp under the Omegas pruning.

Due to this factor, Tobio was grumbling and trying to get out of Suga’s hold.

Suga however wasn’t having the squeamish Pups antics and nipped him lightly on the nape and that’s all it took for the Omega Pup to finally look away from the Alpha’s and give into Suga.

“It will always amaze me how our wolf instincts work,” Daichi commented, and the other Alphas nodded, watching as Suga smothered the Pup in pheromones.

After a while of Suga continuous smothering, he was able to coax Tobio’s own scent out of him.

Mission Complete!

Just as planned: vanilla was buckling out of Tobio quicker than he could control, and it overpowered the room in seconds. That was the one bad thing about Pups; they did not know how to control or manage their pheromones.

Tobio was left whimpering in pain.

Oikawa wanted to ridicule Tobio but he held his tongue, knowing that it wasn’t the right time to say something demeaning. Instead, Suga was doing the right thing by coaxing the Pup through it.

“You’re okay,” Suga kept repeating as he rubbed the boy’s temple to ease out the headache that would have likely formed by Tobio forcing his natural instincts to be dormant when they should always be present. It was not a natural thing to do, restricting your scent from coming out. It was an act of trying to turn your body back into its human state, going against physics.

Tobio looked up at Suga and the older one smiled back at him.

“Everything will be okay,” he told the Pup as his brown eyes started to flicker.

Memorised, Tobio watched as brown hues turned into shades of purple. Overcome by amazement, Tobio stared up in awe.

Suga’s Omega was breathtaking; it was as if lilacs lived within his eyes, blowing in the wind gently. The lilac colours of his eyes seemed to help soothe the aching pain that had formed in Tobio’s head and calmed his sensors a notch.

“You must be tired,” Suga murmured, and as if put under a trance Tobio could only nod.

“Then why not have a nap?” Suga added, his voice like thick honey.

Still locked on to the purple hues, Tobio watched as they slightly darkened in colour, and instantly he felt exhaustion fall over him.

In times like these, more experienced Omegas had the ability to lure fellow pack members into a trance of sleepiness. Usually only used when instincts were high anf overtook their wolves. It was very similar to being scent drunk on pheromones, but instead it was used to gently lead wolves into sleep.

Tobio felt sleep fast approaching, until Suga suddenly shifted from underneath him and in the state of unconsciousness, Tobio was launching up, stunning the older Omega and the other Alphas in the room.

“You can’t leave!” Tobio said in a panic, hands pawing desperately at Sugas clothes trying to grasp onto something to hold.

Suga looked into Tobio’s frantic eyes and became overwhelmed by what lay in there: overwhelming fear and stumbled over himself, “P-Pup… I-i’m not going anywhere.”

Tobio held tighter, “Promise?”

Suga wanted to cry, “when you wake up, i’ll be here,” and brought the boy’s face to rest against his chest.

“Promise?” Tobio asked, his voice wavy, eyes wet.

Suga felt overcome with emotions and couldn’t manage words as he nodded against Tobio’s hair, holding him tighter. The words dying on his tongue, I promise.

By the time Tobio woke up, his body was blazing, cramping and aching from the position that it was being forced to curl up in.

He heard low whispering voices around him; thus he poked his head up and realised he was still in the living room and that the three Alphas were still there, seated around the coffee table sipping from glasses of what looked like apple juice, but sure didn’t smell like it when he sniffed the air.

He scrunched his nose up, ew.

“You're finally up.” Iwaizumi said.

Tobio nodded and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

“Well, that makes one of you,” Daichi said and pointed to something, someone behind him.

Following the finger, Tobio found Suga there, curled up around his back. Suga’s lips were slightly parted and each time he breathed; his eyelashes tickled his pink cheeks that had also grown warm from the blanket that covered the 2 of them.

As if sensing the eyes of the room on him, Suga shifted and with it the blanket slowly slid down Tobio’s body, the cold breeze hitting his skin like he was naked. In alarm, he looked down to find that everything was still covered.

“You’ve been out for over an hour,” Oikawa mentioned, “Suga wasn’t far behind you.”

Tobio nodded as he rubbed his eyes, still feeling the effects of sleep weighing heavy on him.

“Of course you guys would be downing alcohol even with the Pup around,” Suga’s tired voice murmured from behind as he scolded the Alphas.

The Alpha’s almost looked guilty as they placed the drinks back down onto the table. Out of sight and out of mind

“How are you feeling?” Suga asked, finally addressing Tobio as he popped his head up onto the Pup 's shoulders.

Tobio felt giggly, his heart fluttering in a weird contentment. He didn’t know why he was feeling like this or what it was, so he said, “I don’t know, it ... this... something feels weird.”

Suga was then laughing, “I wouldn’t expect anything else,” at the worry that appeared in Tobio’s eyes, Suga continued, “Don't worry, this is all just a natural reaction. Your brains letting out dopamine from the high you have just experienced–”

“But I haven’t taken anything,” Tobio quickly cut in, eyes wide in terror.

The room was quiet for a second until deep laughs filled it.

Tobio frowned, had he said something wrong?

Suga laughed, whipping a tear that had fallen, and said, “that’s not what I was implying.”

Tobio looked at him, head tilted.

“What I'm trying to say is that you and your Omega are experiencing a high that comes usually after being scented. It's what’s making you feel all giggly and warm inside,” Suga paused and analysed Tobio’s body language, “You're probably feeling more docile than you were before. You sure do look brighter in the skin.”

“It's a primal impulse that we all have,” Iwaizumi added, the other two Alphas nodding in agreement.

“What primal impulse?” Tobio asked.

Suga smiled and indulged the Pups question, “the primal impulse to bond which is usually done through scenting. It’s what helps increase the emotional connection we have with each other but unlike the other second genders, Omegas will give out everything they have, and ultimately will expect the same amount back, but sometimes we don’t get that.”

“Is that why you came over today?” Tobio asked, the question dying on his tongue.

Suga looked almost guilty as he nodded, “It is.”

“Why?”

“Because I feared that you were pulling away and that if I didn't step in, you would have seen how far you could push the side effects before they became too much,” Suga admitted.

Tobio cringed, “Is that why it hurt when you started to scent me earlier and my scent came out?”

Suga nodded, “You were restricting yourself and over the past few days everything has been building until it all came crashing down.”

Tobio whimpered, his mind begining to spiral as he apologised, “I’m sorry.”

Suga gently took Tobio’s hands in his, “hey?”

Tobio looked up through his lashes.

“It’s okay,” Suga reassured.

“B-but I–” Tobio tried but Suga placed a finger over his mouth.

“Shhh… none of that,” he said as he cuddled into the younger Omega’s back, “what you did was stupid but how can I fault you when you know no better. Not to mention how cute it was when you tried to protect me from the others.”

Tobio blushed bright red, “I didn’t?” he asked in horror.

“Oh, but you very much did,” Suga smirked smugly as he glanced towards the other Alpha’s on the couch who shuttered, “and they were terrified of you.”

Tobio looked at the Alphas, eyes sparkling in wonder, “were they?”

Oikawa huffed, “as if! Don’t think for a second!”

Iwaizumi crossed his hands over his chest, “if I remember correctly, you got jealous of Suga because you wanted to cuddle Tobio.”

Oikawa’s eyes widened before he covered himself quickly, “that is far from the truth Iwa and you know it!”

Tobio brushed some hair behind his ear and nibbled on his lip, “If you wanted a hug Oikawa you could have just asked.”

Oikawa went stiff as he turned to look back at Tobio, “really?”

Tobio nodded as he stood to his feet and Suga let him go easily, squinting his eyes in interest. His two feet carried him across the ground and to the couch easily. He wanted nothing more than to be cuddled, his Omega wanting the physical touch more than anything. He was feeling angsty without it now that he had left Suga’s side.

Oikawa seemed to sense what Tobio was feeling as he opened his arms to accept Tobio fully into his lap.

“Oh Tobio,” Suga spoke softly.

Tobio whimpered into the space between Oikawa’s neck and shoulder. Not understanding the feelings currently encasing him. He felt not like himself… just like a part of him was missing.

“I thought we caught it but I must have not been quick enough,” Suga said sadly.

Tobio rolled his head on Oikawa's shoulder so that he could look over the room, “what?”

“Your touched starved Pup,” Iwaizumi replied and Tobio whimpered at the word.

“It should only last a day or so if we keep up with the scenting and pack bonding,” Suga said and Tobio nodded as he let Oikawa's body heat consume him wholeheartedly.
