Ominous October Trick or Treat Prompt
Day 2
Prompt : S/he carefully finished the knot on the handmade sweater.

Handmade
Yarn tangled around fingers that were more suited to different tasks. Curses spilled in annoyance from his lips every time a stitch slipped. His technique lacked finesse, and he limped his way to the finish line. He’d been at this for weeks, and he was ready to be done with it.
Carefully, he tied the knot he hoped would hold the whole sweater together.
Holding it up for his own inspection, he grimaced.
It was ugly—
—not in the way that was in fashion either.
Perhaps he was better off tossing it and buying her a proper gift.
As he ruminated over his options, the giftee in question walked in.
Before he could hide it, her eyes fell on the clumsily constructed garment.
She smiled!—
—smiled at his monstrosity as she gestured for him to show her. “You made this for me?”
Severus did not deny it, merely shaking his head in shame as he held it up. “It did not go as planned. I’ll get you something more suitable.”
“I love it!” Hermione snatched the sweater from his hands, pulling it to her chest as if he’d just gifted her something made of pure gold. “It’s perfect, thank you.”
