“Alone. All alone. W-where am I..”
The once renowned traveler of the High-Cloud Quintet, Dan Feng. Or at least, that man was dead.
The unnamed wandered through the empty space, trying to find a way out.
He wanders until he comes across a memory bubble. He then touches the bubble, revealing memories…
“Hehe cheers!” Baiheng called.
“So how were your travels beyond the sky, [rendacted]?” Jingliu asked.
“They went very well, and I brought gifts for everyone!” he said.
“An elegant hairpin for Baiheng, a wonderful sword for Jing Yuan, a rare book for Jingliu, and finally to my lover a bottle of luscious wine-”
The bubble shattered as the unnamed went down, his cries of agony and pain resonated throughout the space.
As he traversed the space, he found more memories all of which gave him pain, that is until he finally found one last bubble.. the bubble which led to who he is today.
“Guys! Jingliu is at Scalegorge Waterscape and is about to wreak havoc! And [redacted] went on ahead to stop her.” Jing Yuan rushed to Baiheng and Yingxing, the poor kid out of breath.
The traveler went on a starskiff, hoping to subdue the High Elder.
Weapons clashed, and cries of agony filled the delve as they dueled at the Dragonvista Rain Hall.
“Jingliu, this isn’t like you! Just please settle down!” Yingxing yelled trying to control the situation.
“Jingliu my love, please don’t harm him…” Baiheng reached out her hand but she reluctantly refused.
“I-I..” Jingliu stammered.
In a panic, the mara greatly intensified and she desperately tried to save Dan Feng who was gravely wounded. In an attempt to try and save him, she tears a hole in the place where the dragon heart resides and places it in him hoping that it can let him survive.
It reacted violently to Dan Feng, forcing him to become an abomination.
“Yingxing, I’m sorry but.. you have to end his misery,” Baiheng assured him as she handed a sword she crafted to him.
The Sword Champion grabbed the sword, and with a sad and painful look, he slashed the abomination that was his lover.
“I’m sorry, I promise we will meet again.”
The memory ends. The unnamed cried. He felt a need to protect, he felt alone.
“Why... Why am I alone..”
“Y-Yingxing..”
The dragon heart raged as if it were giving the unnamed a twisted reason to live.. but at the cost of loneliness and agony, to protect his beloved.
The claw marks of the scars of time and friendship.
