Work Text:
Kanae was the more sociable out of the two in ChroNoiR. He was known to interact with others more. This would make fans try to interact with Kanae more. Kuzuha understood this fact, but he was still susceptible to human jealousy and it was never expected.
During a fan meet, he slightly excused himself after seeing thousands of fangirls fawn over Kanae after their performance. It isn't that he didn't have fans, they were just quieter and calmer, putting him more at peace. They could see him later. While being deep in thought, he had found himself of the rooftop. The next moment, he realised that someone had put a strawberry cafe au lait on his head. Looking towards the sky, he wondered which angel knew that he was craving for it.
He knew Kanae was popular, but not this popular. This was the third girl he had chased off. Yes, they were on tour in a hotel, but was the fangirls so desperate to be "Kanae's wife"? Were the seriously in love with him? "Can I pass this personally to Kanae? If not, could you tell me where he is?" "Firstly, why did you to come to my room, secondly, not now." After saying, he gently closed the door in her face.
"Kuzuha? Why are you at the door again? Did one of the fans want anything? Thanks for housing me." A sleepy Kanae arose from the bed, rubbing his eyes.
Kuzuha sighed, gathering that his gentle wasn't that gentle after all.
"Sorry for waking you. I'm going to take a breather."
Kanae gave him a unconvinced look but sighed afterwards, thanking Kuzuha all the same.
Taking a breather let Kuzuha re-register what had happened. It was tough, but Kanae had it harder. He shouldn't over react, right. Don't over react.
"hey"
Tilting his head, a concerned Kanae peered down at him.
"What's up?" Kuzuha pretended not to hear.
Seeing that he was not ready to talk, Kanae placed another strawberry cafe au lait on his head.
"Come back soon."
"mm"
Tucking his face within his arms, Kuzuha knew that he didn't want to trouble Kanae any more than he already did. Kanae always took care of him, and since he couldn't take care of Kanae, he kept his jealousy down.
Kanae knew something was wrong. He couldn't define it, but it bothered him in a way that made him feel uncomfortable, even guilty. Their busy schedules kept them away from each other apart from work matters. Kuzuha was slow to come, fast to leave. It seemed like he was avoiding Kanae. Many nights he spent lying in bed figuring out what he did wrong, but still couldn't come to a solution. The tour was coming to an end, this wouldn't do.
What to do once he met Kuzuha was easy. Getting to meet him, however was another story. Kuzuha constantly rushed off to places, despite always being lazy normally. Kanae knew there was one way, but he really didn't want to resort to that.
"Kanae!!" Kuzuha burst into his room, rushing to his side. "Stupid, what were you doing out in the rain?" He quickly placed his hand on Kanae's forehead. It was warm, really warm, almost hot. Kanae grabbed his wrist and sat up pouting.
"Ku-chan..."
"Kanae...just because you're sick doesn't mean you can call me that..."
"Did it work?"
"Huh? What do you mean?" What does he mean by that?
"I mean, it hasn't rained at all these few days. And by the way you ran, you probably heard the staff I set up."
"You...you...how could you?...this is not the time for jokes."
"Then please stay." Kuzuha flashed him a side eye, just to note the flash of hurt which fluttered in Kanae's eyes.
"Why..."
"are you avoiding me?"
Biting his bottom lip, Kuzuha noted the question and inwardly debated how to answer it. Kanae had started rubbing small circles on his hand.
"Must I tell you?"
"Yes." His tone stern, albeit worried.
"That's cos you've got so many girls hanging around you."
"woahh..Ku-chan, you're actually jealous?" He never thought vampires could feel this way too. Perhaps once the vampire knew the joy of relationships, he really cherished and treasured them.
"So what if I am? Is it wrong to love your partner even more than his fans?" Kuzuha quickly covered his mouth, trying to keep back the words that were pushing out. "It's just...nothing. You don't take it to heart."
What met him, however, was a touch of soft lips brushing over his own. "Who says I can't take it to heart? Oh hell yeah, I'm going to take it to heart, and I'm going to be so damn happy that my heart can burst out of my chest. And I'm really happy to be on the receiving end of Kuzuha's jealousy."
This stunned Kuzuha. Never did he think that Kanae would reciprocate his feelings. Something warm rolled down his cheeks, something that made him feel relieved, happy, glad and all sorts of positive emotions. Kanae pulled Kuzuha into his bed, tucking himself into the crook of Kuzuha's neck.
"You know, I was waiting for that. A long time, I'm finally fulfilled." Kanae mumbled.
Giving a peck on the forehead, Kuzuha smiled fondly. "Don't be fulfilled so easily, I haven't even started."
