As the candlelight faded, even in the darkness, Chatra could not take his eyes off Khem.
In his life, he had never been associated with anyone, it was him and his loneliness walking a single path. But then the dancer appeared and a smile was enough to break his own rules.
"Thank you."
Chatra swallowed and let those two words settle deep inside.
No, he thought. It was he who should be thankful. But just as he was about to say it, Khem closed the distance between them and kissed him tenderly on the lips.
All thought lost its meaning as he gave himself completely to the feeling that was beginning to emerge amidst danger and despair.
