Work Text:
“come with us,” they said. “it will be nice,” they said.
so can anyone tell me why you're uncomfortably shifting in your seat right now?
... oh yeah.
it's because you agreed. you agreed to the couple that invited you to their date in a run down pizza place of some sort.
so that's why your eyes are darting around the room, taking in every furniture and item and demon that takes up space. anything but the sight of them. so you look to your left.
a dirty, white square table with a plate on top that holds the crust of a pizza. with how there's no one sitting around — yet alone standing around — you can only guess that the food was left to rot by the one who last had their hands on it.
you look to your right. a dancefloor. there’s a disco ball hanging on the ceiling. it reflects the restaurant’s orange overhead lights and below stands a demon.
they’re green. they’re dancing. they’re… writhing? n—now they’re on the floor! hold on— are they even dancing?? hell, are they okay??
“hyperlaser, we shouldn’t be doing this…”
the low mutter makes you furrow your brows and you close your eyes in embarrassment. you shook your head and pinched the bridge of your nose, finally looking up at them.
“guys, i have to do something, so i have to go…” of the two demons curled up on the other side of the booth, only one turns their head to take a look at you.
“huh? but—”
you got up and left the scene without leaving another glance.
“don’t worry about them,” hyperlaser whispers. he drags an index finger up katana’s chest.
“sir, this is a pizza place.” an employee suddenly appears in the background. “can i just take your order already?”
“can anyone help me real quick?” boombox says calmly as he twists around the red carpet. “i think im having a stroke.” he says as he disintegrates into a million pieces.
outside of the parlor, there you stand. waiting for a taxi in the dead of night.
you find yourself sighing. why did you even agree to this.
