Work Text:
Gibbs,
I know that this isn't the most conventional means but then again this is not the most conventional circumstance and you are not the most conventional man. I needed to ensure that you got this and that only you got it.
From the start, this case did not settle right with me; something about the people he chose to take were strange there was no rhyme or reason. Just an authority figure of some form. It was only a few nights ago that I had pieced together the blatant clues linking these people together. The first was the marine, he was to get our attention. Next was a grocer, another a receptionist, another a garbage man, and so on and forth but you already knew that. These people saw hundreds of people during their working week and yet all of them saw me also.
Forgive me for not noticing sooner.
Since then, i have been more observant of my whereabouts. There was one face, one name that kept appearing: Daniel Walker-Roberts. He was someone I used to know, it does not matter how anymore. All you need to know is that this man is beyond help and I know how to find him, you have your gut feelings and I have mine.
It's too late for me, a small sacrifice it the midst of everything bad in the world, thats the way it is. But it isn't too late for him. Get him the help he needs.
Even though it is against the rules, I just wanted to apologise, for all the trouble and hardship this case has caused; all the trouble and hardship I have caused. I know I wasn't always the easiest agent to manage.
Although I am in hardly the position to ask, please make sure they remember me for the person I was and not for the way that I will die. And please, find him before Daniel before he hurts anyone else.
All my love
Yours,
(Y/N) (L/N)

Gibbs placed down the letter on the desk, resting his glasses on top. It had taken a while for it to come through the post, long enough for them to already have found her body in the woods. It was mangled, beaten, and torn. But even in her death did she help him, at least now he had a name, someone to punish, someone to pay for the horrors inflicted.
