Work Text:
“Soundwave, are you well?” Megatron stepped into the clearing where Soundwave had been sitting with his thoughts, holding two mugs that wafted steam into the air.
The mage considered his words before shaking his head. “No.”
“If it’s anything that this tea can’t cure, I’m afraid we’ll have to find a way to go to Iacon.” The larger man stepped close enough to hand him one of the mugs. “What’s wrong?”
“Soundwave is…” He took the mug and sipped at the liquid, pleased that it wasn’t overly sugared the way the tea always had been when he first woke up in Megatron’s bed. “Alone. Familiars, lost. Friends, also lost.”
“Well. It doesn’t solve your lonliness completlely, but you do have a friend in me. And when you are well enough, we will make the trip to Praxus and search until we find your missing familiars.”
“Thank you.” Soundwave sipped his tea again. “Megatron need not–”
“Yes, but what kind of friend would I be if I let you go alone?”
Despite his sadness, Soundwave smiled. Megatron’s friendship was a balm on his soul. “Soundwave understands. Companionship appreciated.”
“You’re welcome.” Megatron sipped his tea as well, standing next to the mage and lending comfort with his presence.
