A/B/O Chain

Summary:

When they first met, it was a bit chaotic. A pile of people thrown together with most harboring a mild to strong ranging paranoia. There were children and teenagers and only a few adults and there's nine of them all in all.

Now the Chain are a family, a pack. This throws up plenty challenges...but also plenty opportunities.

Aka: I try to aggressively platonise the A/B/O trope for Linked Universe. No Linkshipping!

Notes:

Open to scenario suggestions as I am unsure how to continue for now.
Alas...nothing smutty. I am here to agressively platonise A/B/O.

Chapter 1: First Meetings

Chapter Text

First Meetings

When they first met, it was a bit chaotic. A pile of people thrown together with most harboring a mild to strong ranging paranoia. There were children and teenagers and only a few adults and there's nine of them all in all.

They are all Heroes. They are all Links of a long Chain that left the first one in their line wide eyed and speechless.

Camp the first day was chaotic. No one could blame them. Even without the whole time travel thing it was always harsh to be ripped away from their packs. And now they all were just expected to get along with these new strangers who mostly all went through their own share of trauma. And some even were separated from their mates.

In short: It was a recipe for disaster.

But somehow they managed.

It could probably be mostly credited to Time, an Alpha, who volunteered to be their temporary pack's leader. Brave…and maybe a bit stupid because he had his hands full with the young heroes. At least the three other adults could help him settle the group down…somewhat.

Link still scowls every time he remembers how that went down.

"Alright everyone, gather around the fire, please. We need to get through with the introductions and break the ice" came the loud order of the newly voted Head Alpha.

He is the oldest, but not the most experienced. With one missing eye and an intimidating scar he certainly made sense for their voting however. He promised safety.

The Hero of Time…seemingly physically mid thirties, tall, broad, calm and confident, he seemed to have something eternal upon himself that left the group guessing his true age. And the little Sailor and the Captain seemed to know him by the fact they immediately had greeted him like a long lost brother, like a pack member lost to the streams of time.

The Rancher with the wolf's pelt seemed to look at him with stars in his eyes…but also great sadness.

Link wondered if he had the slightest clue of the tragedy this man was. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. One thing was certain however: The Hero of Time had died as a young man. And yet here he was alive and breathing and almost middle aged with a supposedly Omega wife who was his mate.

Had he dared fake his death to escape and leave Hyrule to near destruction and the royal bloodline to near extinction?

It took everything Link had to not outright snarl at the man with his introduction.

There was a shuffle as most rushed to follow the order. Link took his time, scowling the entire time. Was this supposed to be an attempt at bonding? Sit around fire and sing silly little songs while holding hands? He'd rather ditch them all before something like that could be enforced.

Thankfully no such extreme measures were necessary as it wasn't as terrible feared. Unfortunately however Time had meant the ice breaker thing quite literally. Like in primary school they were asked for an introduction: title, age - for the unpresented ones in case they could expect a presentation during this quest - and finally a hobby, occupation and or interest.

Presentation usually happened for most around eighteen however it wasn't unusual to have people present as early as sixteen or as late as twenty. Thankfully it's in most cases possible to estimate the secondary gender long before the presentation however there were plenty of known exceptions so it was never a guarantee.

Link still was severely considering getting up and leaving at that point because no thank you fuck that, he has no interest in this stupid kindergarten plan.

To no one's surprise it was one of the pups that took the initiative next. "I'm the Hero of Wind, I'm almost fourteen and I'm a pirate. I like sailing" he declared proudly, looking up at Time like a pup would at one's father or older brother looking for approval.

He earns a hair ruffle and squeaks in protest, swatting at the hand messing with his hair. Probably one day an Alpha, Link noted, crossing his arms. It'd be a long evening even without his insomnia hindering any chance he has of a restful sleep.

Next is the smallest member of their group, the other pup present - even if he got thin lipped when the question for his age fell. "Hero of the Four Swords, I'm a blacksmith. You won't have to worry about me any time soon" he informed dryly, clearly not pleased when pressed for his age.

Link looked at the pup's colorful tunic and his heart clenched. He looked at his sword and had to tear himself away or he might be tempted to change the past. Which in his experience is not a good idea.

He remembers shades and spirits and sad words before they finally rested within their blade to recover from their corruption.

"He's fourteen" Link spoke up. By the shock and then death glare towards him he knew he was right. Take that as revenge for the scar at his side. Fair is fair. Because four against one is just unfair.

Also…leaving a rude impression by revealing his young age might keep the future beta away from Link. Stop him from attempting to reach out to him for friendship and tempt Link into attempting to change the future to spare him centuries of suffering.

"You are?!" At the smithy's nod, Wind promptly deflated. "Awww, bummer. You were my hope to not be the youngest. Or is anyone here under fourteen?" The silence at his question causes the teen to sulk.

Tough luck, baby of the pack. Probably most of them were taking mental notes to protect the pup extra.

Not so Link. He knows age isn't a question of capability and thirteen really isn't that young to be a hero. Link had already done impressive things with the tender age of nine after all.

Maybe you could try to protect what's left of his innocence an inner voice notes that suspiciously sounds like his sister. He flips her the mental bird. No, thank you. If he starts doing that it's just the start of the slippery slope of being attached.

He lost enough friends and family to know not to get attached.

This pack is only temporary and it's better that way.

The awkward silence that follows this exchange clearly needs to be bridged and so one of the older ones sacrifices himself to go next. "I'm the Hero of Twilight, twenty-one and I'm a ranch hand" the wolf's pelt wearing hero introduced mild mannered, a thick country accent leaving some puzzling over the words for a few moments longer.

He is an Alpha. And by the way his scent is built up, bonded to another Alpha. And by how faint his mate's scent is, he was left in the dust by them like a puppy abandoned on the roadside.

Geez. Were most of them cursed with disastrous love lifes?

Unbidden Link thinks of hibiscus and red hair and the voice of an angel. Hints of being a Beta in the future. It wasn't her fault.

…was Twilight's mate the same?

"Your scent has changed. It's Hibiscus now too, not just Apples and Bunnies anymore" Zelda uttered, brows furrowed as she eyed her younger twin. Her gaze fell on his neck which still was free of any mating mark. He was only fourteen after all. And yet he had gone through heartbreak. "What happened?"

Link swallowed frantically against the lumb in his throat, the question welling up a fresh wave of tears which he was blinking up frantically against. Fourteen and already he had lost who he had wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

"Oh Link...I'm so sorry…" Zelda seemed to reach the same conclusion. Scent changes only happen after mating or intense trauma. And clearly in Link's case it was the latter.

She silently opened her arms to invite her little brother into a tight hug, to comfort what couldn't be consoled. Not even presented and the young future Alpha already had suffered so much. Zelda felt like a failure already knowing even in the future she wouldn't be able to shield him from the pain.

"Country boy" the stunning blonde with a blue scarf spoke up slightly teasing, his posh accent clearly noble. He seemed to be trying to untense things as people reached a similar conclusion towards Twilight as Link had. Tall, pretty, muscular. He radiated confidence and authority.

Seemed like he knew what to do in a group.

"City boy" Twilight counters, a bit of a challenge there, a smile playing around the edges of his mouth. The duo exchanged a glance and a new rivalry was born.

"Why does it matter where one lives?" The smaller brunette with large green eyes and freckles asked confused.

Unbidden Link had to think of another person with green eyes and freckles. The other Hero had markings of being a future Beta and the person Link thought of showed signs of being a future Omega and yet they seemed painfully similar.

Could they be related? With his experience in time travel, Link wouldn't doubt it…but it would mean his best friend would find his way back to Hyrule some day. And then possibly have children there…

Either way, a completely unwanted surge of protectiveness rose within him. Shit. So much about not getting attached.

"Well, where do you live?" Link asked, reluctantly reinserting himself into the discussion. Try to get the slightly dirty brunette to talk more and seem less nervous.

"A cave" the teen responded as if that's normal which immediately drew lots of attention to him. He shrunk a bit into himself and Link could see the really long haired blonde and scarred hero mouth seemingly elated " cave boy ". Brunette didn't seem to notice. He fidgeted with his hands. ".....my Zeldas called me the Hero of Hyrule. I'm sixteen…or fifteen. I'm not sure. I like caves."

Oof, the way he phrased that made it sound like he doubted his worth as a hero. Link would have to figure out why and work on that.

He didn't have long left to ponder. The next hero spoke up: "I love caves too! They're amazing. So much to explore!" That was the scarred one with long blonde hair. An Omega with a mating mark on his neck that looked like a shark decided to take a bite out of him. He seemed excited to find a fellow cave enthusiast.

"I know, right? Imagine all new things to see" Hyrule gushed in response, his earlier shyness melting like ice on a warm summer's day.

Geez, goddesses, damn it. Seems like the old man did have a point with his ice breaker circle.

The fellow cave enthusiast nodded sagely. "And to find" he grinned widely before deciding that as cue to introduce himself. "My Zelda called me the Hero of the Wild. I love exploring, cooking and setting things on fire. Oh, and I'm engaged to the prince of the Zoras and 118 years old."

And somehow he said all that with a straight face.

Link's eyes narrowed on the long haired blonde and he tried to gauge just how serious he was. Unfortunately he seemed very serious with that claim. Which means it's either the truth or that poor guy is completely deluded. Either option is a headache waiting to happen and Link did not feel like facing that headache. Let sleeping dogs lie and all that. There seemed agreement with his sentiment for now.

………though the Zora thing would explain the huge mating mark on Wild's neck at least. Maybe a salt water Zora instead of the aggressive fresh water one then. But that age?

Hm.

Link sighed and glanced over. Now's just three Links left in this stupid circle. He himself, traumatized looking cape boy - an Omega with a much less painful looking mating mark - and pretty boy with a scarf - his scent so suppressed it was hard to tell what he was.

Link was about to sigh and get this stupidly effective thing over with when the cape wearer spoke up: "I'm called Hylia's Chosen Hero. I'm nineteen and-"

"The founder of Hyrule! I read so much about you in my history books!" Blurted Four out, colors in his eyes dancing with his enthusiasm before he clamped a hand over his mouth trying to reign in his enthusiasm and revealed too much.

The so-called founding father blushed at that exclamation, ducking his head and looked overwhelmed at that. ".......really?" He mumbled. "We…we succeeded in founding a new country?"

"Yeah" Four nodded, seemingly slightly more composed now. "You're the Hero of the Sky, coming from the sky. The father of the entire royal bloodline to this day. You…" he trailed off, shaking his head. He already said too much. No spoiling the future more than necessary, please.

Link was staring at the now identified Sky, thoughts racing. This …this was his ancestor. And his experience with time travel and ancestors told him it was not a good idea to be around him. For fuck's sake, he did not feel like running into the risk of fading because his ancestor nearly died again

He'd better change the topic.

"I'm the Hero of Legend - not my choice of title - and I'm a simple nobody apple farmer" he offered as information. He should probably add his age but he did not feel like being treated as a child.

This caught Hyrule's attention. His eyes went wide and starry and Link felt a headache coming he had tried so desperately to avoid.

Please, no. Don't tell him he was a fanboy.

"No, you're not a nobody. You are the Hero of Legend" the brunette said firmly. "You saved a lot of countries and beat Ganon multiple times." Definitely a fanboy. Damn it.

"I'd appreciate it if you didn't hand out my whole life story" he stated dryly, hoping to take some air out of the younger hero's speech. Now if only that kid had the same confidence in himself like he had on the pedestal he had apparently put Link upon.

"Awww, don't be like that, veteran, I for one want to hear all he has to say about you" Scarfy spoke up. Veteran. What a nickname. Jaded from countless adventures as if he went to war. Fitting.

Link found himself bristling. "Well, maybe ask me yourself instead of someone else?"

"Well, go on then, you haven't finished introducing yourself yet, have you? Your age is still missing" pretty boy pointed out. Link decided at that point he did not like him.

"What does it matter? The old man only said we should say it if it matters" he glared. "And my age doesn't matter."

"Are you too young to present any time soon then?" Scarfy pressed, slightly provocative. "Eleven, twelve?"

"I'm sixteen" Link impulse corrected and bristled realizing that this was exactly what Scarfy had wanted. He slouched and glared daggers at the guy. He'd have to see about getting hair dye in the next town. He could bet that pretty boy wouldn't like that for his shiny hair.

"So you are in the presenting age range. Thought so" Scarfy noted and leaned back, self satisfied. "But I suppose fair is fair. I'm the Hero of Warriors, twenty-four and I quite enjoy embroidery."

Unbidden Link's gaze fell on the blue scarf and trailed up. Hidden on the inside he thought he could see more details than the broad sigil in the front. Trailing up, he spotted what might be a mating mark before Warriors adjusted his scarf and it disappeared from view.

But why would he hide it? Was he ashamed? Why would he hide that he was mated? Unless …

He didn't want anyone to know and that was for certain and raised a red flag. Unfortunately it was not in anyone's position yet to note upon that.

They didn't know each other enough at all for that yet.

Link briefly considered the pros and cons of letting his walls down enough to get close enough to help someone else again. Then he remembered the goading into giving up the truth and it made his blood boil. Fuck that. No.

….

It still happens.

The other heroes still successfully managed to wear his jaded shell down one by one. That day a rivalry was born made of bets and teasing and taunting. Brotherhood was forged on the fire of countless nights spend by the campfire together. And maybe…maybe that wouldn't be too bad in the long run.

After all, chasing the shadow left their temporary pack plenty of time to grow.

That was only the beginning of their journey.

Chapter Text

Legend - as Link was now called - never was a fan of crowds. That the crowd was basically all different versions of himself- past and future incarnations of the same spirit - didn't help matters any. They were loud and rowdy and Legend honestly just wanted them to shut up.

Unfortunately, they didn't by some miraculous force.

Rather, the baby of the pack kept swinging gleefully from Twilight's arm even as the group walked, whooping loudly in his delight that simply play brought him. The rancher was unfairly strong, even for an Alpha.

Others kept talking happily, blissfully uncaring for the potential dangers awaiting them on the road.

Legend's ears meanwhile pinned against his head with the constant noise.

Magic always has side effects, either visible or invisible. In Legend's case, his transformation into a rabbit had multiple effects. One of which was a permanently better hearing.

Which also meant that normal things are much, much louder now. Sometimes overwhelmingly loud.

Miserable, the veteran drags his feet along, grumbling to himself. What he wouldn't do to have the extra loud ones shut up…

There is a phrase: Be careful what you wish for.

Because there was a shout of alarm and suddenly monsters were there. Thankfully even with barely a warning the makeshift pack burst into action.

The attacking group of monsters might be from various times - some possessing gnarled horns that they attempt to ram into their Hylian enemies, others carrying an armor of tough scales even their more powerful swords would struggle to pierce - and might be of a wide variety, but none of the heroes hesitated. The monsters might tower over the rather short heroes but the chain was undeterred.

The heroes after all had come together for a reason, drawn by a shared destiny , a shared spirit. Each possessed unique abilities and skills honed through countless battles fought in their respective times. Now, they stood side by side, ready to face this unexpected threat.

After all, all nine of them were heroes in their own right even if they had yet to fight the first time together. A few monsters should stand no chance.

The first to react was Four, the small pup able to use his rather small size for full agility and precision. He swiftly unsheathed his sword, the blade glinting in the dim light of the setting sun, reflecting all the colors of the rainbow. With lightning-fast movements, he darted towards one of the Moblins, gracefully evading its charging attacks while delivering swift strikes that found their mark.

Beside him Time burst into action, the Alpha's towering figure with golden armor cutting a rather impressive figure as his gigantic sword began to slice through the rows of scales of a Lizalfos.

Legend stopped paying attention at that point, rather focusing on attacking his own set of monsters even as his ears still twitched, trying to keep track of the others in the makeshift pack with the aid of his better hearing.

The Tempered Sword struck his enemies with unmatched precision, the veteran's experience paying off. Wave after wave of monsters fell beneath the golden blade.

Heat waves rippled through the battlefield, magic thick enough in the air to taste it. Arrows shot through the air, burying into rough skin and scales alike. Beside him, the others continued their relentless assault on the monster horde that dared to attack them.

With every swing of the heroes weapons, the monster's defenses started to dwindle more and more. The metallic clang of weapons echoed in the air, drowning out the shrieks and growls of the defeated monsters turning into smoke.

Suddenly, a colossal creature emerged from between the shadows of the trees - a towering behemoth of a Lynel, in a form even Legend with all his experience had yet to see. His heart raced at the awe inspiring sight but he didn't hesitate, adrenaline of the ongoing battle carrying him onwards.

"That's a Lynel from my time!" Wild informs helpfully for those not aware as the young Omega decided to join the attempt to take on the massive enemy.

The Lynel's silver mane billowed in the wind, its fiery eyes piercing through anything it stared at. Its massive hooves shook the ground with each step as it raced forward, causing tremors that reverberated through the heroes' bones.

"Since when are Lynels so ridiculously huge?!" Came the question from somewhere on the battlefield. Silently Legend had to agree with that assessment but he was too busy to dodge an incoming attack to further comment. It was likely by the sheer force behind the attack that Lynels had evolved into Mini bosses somewhere in the far future.

As the Lynel charged forward, its thunderous roar echoed across the battlefield. Many braced themselves for impact or dodging, their weapons poised and ready. With a swift motion, Legend flipped away from another attack and then swung his sword, its blade gleaming with ancient power. The beast roared deafening as steel met hardened skin and tough fur, creating another verse to the symphony of the battle that resonated throughout the woods.

Ears ringing fiercely because why must everything just be so damn fucking loud, the veteran still kept fighting.

Unfortunately, the Lynel was a costly distraction. A pup's pained shout echoed through the battleground mere moments after.

Immediately Legend's eyes scanned the battlefield, searching for any sign of one of the unpresented ones - stubbornly ignoring he himself was among these numbers - in need of help. Quickly he found Wind on the ground, a monster with an already bloodied blade above him, ready to strike again.

The teenage Alpha to be had to dodge another attack from the Lynel then, unable to watch the outcome.

But he was able to hear. And what he heard was-

The fierce scream worthy of an Omega mother protecting their pup. Tearing flesh. Grunts of pain and-

Someone's arrow hits true and the Lynel staggers, temporarily stunned.

"Get up there!" Wild recommends from somewhere on the battlefield and Legend jumps, rock's feather carrying him up and up until he sits on the beast's back, in for a mighty rodeo ride. His sword pierces vulnerable spots on its neck as he strikes without prejudice until he is thrown off.

Flipping through the air, the veteran reaches for his tornado rod to guarantee a better landing but already strong arms catch him, the Rancher's smile soft as he places him down much gentler than he had caught him.

"You need to eat more, you are very light and skinny" the Alpha comments more lighthearted than any of them should in the current situation. "You did a great job up there, it's almost finished."

"You didn't need to catch me. I don't need your Alpha guarding. I'm not a pup" Legend scowls.

All Twilight does is tilt his head at those words, not unlike a dog. "But I wanted to."

Legend scowls but aware they had bigger issues than the overprotectiveness of local Alphas, decides to let the issue go for the moment. "How is the sailor?" He asks instead.

"Stable. Warriors, Time and Sky got him out of here" the Rancher informs. "You don't need to worry, vet."

"I wasn't worried" Legend immediately counters bristling but by Twilight's condescending smile he knew the other didn't believe him for a moment.

He growls then, angry and frustrated and mortifyingly Twilight has to merely chuff - the reprimanding chuff of an Alpha to a misbehaving pup - to calm his temper slightly. "Fuck you" he grits out.

"Focus" Twilight counters.

Right. Ongoing fight.

Flipping the Rancher the bird, Legend rushes back into the fight. The lynel is going down, one way or another.

They are a pseudo pack. They have chosen a Head Alpha but they haven't yet chosen a Head Omega. They do no have a Beta to pick as their Peacekeeper yet.

But the Lynel still dared to hurt the Baby of their pack.

And so teamwork is fluent, easy. A comment goal uniting them, they have each other's backs unlike earlier. Four and Hyrule fight viciously to keep the other monsters busy and away from Wild, Twilight and Legend who still tackle the Lynel.

None of the monsters stand a chance.

A hail of arrows from Wild stuns the Lynel again as Twilight gives Legend the boost up to reach the beast's back again while using his own sword to target the beast's soft underbelly. He might earn a hoof to the gut for his efforts - a pain he wasn't too unfamiliar with as a rancher - but the pay off is doubly worth it as Legend's sword finally pierces the beast's throat beyond what it can survive.

The beast rots and turns to smoke and the trio can quickly divert their attentions to the rest of the monsters. It's pup's game.

At last, no enemy remains.

Panting but victorious, still in the dust of their fallen foes, Legend pulls out a rag to wipe monster blood off of his sword before sheathing it. Paranoia at his heels, he hurries to double check that truly no monster remained.

Thankfully none did.

Which means…he can focus on the next trouble on his list of worries. It seems like the others reach the same thought, so in unison, the group hurries to where Time, Sky and Warriors retreated with the wounded Wind.

By the pups annoyed yips even if they are slightly pained, he is at least awake and aware. And certainly not happy to have been taken out of the fight.

…and as it turns out: Put into a makeshift nest guarded by their overzealous Head Alpha.

It is quite the scene to witness, Sky and Warriors patching up a very unhappy wiggly Wind, the pup certainly ready to return to the fight. Sky was fussy and clean…and Warriors - the usually fancy and clean pretty boy - was absolutely covered in monster gore, especially around his face and hands. His scent was as neutral as ever outside of the sharp stank of monster blood and guts, locked behind military grade suppressors and scent blockers but by the way he was fussing even more than Sky, he had been greatly worried by the injury of their youngest.

"Did he…tear the monster apart?" Hyrule voiced all of the newcomers thoughts who hadn't had the chance to see during the fight. The Beta to be certainly sounded impressed. "With his bare hands?"

Sky sniffs in distaste, looking vaguely sick at the state Warriors was in while inside the nest. Glancing at the newcomers, he nods. "He did. See, Captain? Now everyone is here. You can go clean up. It's okay."

Warriors blinks, once, twice. Only then the half feral look in his eyes fades and he seems to register the presence of the others of the makeshift pack. "I-" he hesitates, glancing at Wind, then at Time.

Their leader only nods, head slightly bowed. "Go right ahead. I will watch Toon. No one will hurt him."

"I'm fine!" The pup protests. "Just get your stinky butt outta the nest and clean up so we can cuddle!"

The Captain visibly relaxes at those words. Gently, he scruffs the pup who relaxes immediately, going boneless in the hastily made nest. Four's eyebrows shoot up high upon witnessing that, sucking in a breath as understanding hits the rest of them do not yet possess.

Then, the Captain staggers to his feet and leaves towards where the group had noted a nearby creek had been during their travels. Twilight hesitates only a brief moment, then quickly hurries after the one he had deemed city boy.

Leaving the others to stand awkwardly outside the makeshift nest, not yet invited in by the Omega remaining in it.

Which Sky quickly decides to remedy. Swiftly he chuffs for pups, looking expectant at the group, especially the three unpresented ones the call addresses. When no one moves, he chuffs again, more insistent.

It is Four who then reluctantly follows the call, much to Sky's delight, kicking his boots off to climb into a clean spot in the nest to cuddle up with Wind. "Not a pup" comes out muffled a bit after, the blatant lie earning him a light scruffing to try and turn off his ever active brain.

"I don't understand. What is going on?" Hyrule asks, looking painfully young and lost, confused by the calls and nesting before him. "Why did Warriors react like that? Why did you make these sounds and are now laying on a pile of random blankets and clothes?"

"Warriors is Wind's and Time's parent, duh" comes out sluggishly from the Smithy, the scruff effective in slowing him and making him sleepy. "It's obvious if you watch them."

Which was very good to know and kind of obvious in hindsight. But Legend was more surprised by what Hyrule had said. "You never were in a nest before?"

Which…which shouldn't be possible. Hyrule was Hylian. He should have…

"Did humans raise you?" He quizzes. That might explain it. Humans did not always possess their Hylian counterpart's secondary dynamics. And if they did, they tended to be the more balanced Betas.

His heroic successor shifts awkwardly, then shakes his head. "No one really raised me" He responds awkwardly. "I was kinda always alone."

And wow. That just wouldn't do.

"C'mon" Legend says, taking the brunette's hand as he kicks off his boots, loosening his grip when the rather skittish chain member flinches. "This is far from an optimal nest but it's far overdue for you to experience nesting. Boots off."

Hyrule's eyes are wide and nervous but he allows Legend to pull him in, wiggling out of his boots after another moment of hesitancy.

The teenage veteran lays down on Sky's other side and pulls the young beta to be to lay beside him, all nice and cuddled up. Hyrule's pupils are blown with all the scents around him, trembling with nerves and strange impulses he likely hadn't dealt with before. Touch starvation was still a long road to heal.

"Shhhh" Sky soothes before gently scruffing the freckled hero, Hyrule briefly tensing before positively melting into a pile of gangly, underfed limbs. "Oh…"

Wind giggles at the reaction, a drowsy eye peaking at the other unpresented one. "Best feeling ever, right? No better way to relax." Hyrule certainly was beyond words but by the blissed expression on his face he was tempted to agree to that assessment.

Sky then moves on to Legend but the veteran lets out a small growl, shaking his head as he swats the sneaking hand away. "Not me."

He needed his senses sharp.

He didn't need the memories of hands on him, holding him down, declaring him a criminal and when he fought back scruffing him until he lost proper control of his limbs for almost a week.

Something in his scent must have given him away because Sky sucks in a breath and nods saddened.

"Okay" he agrees quietly, beckoning Wild in too, the Omega all too eager to join the cuddle pile as well.

And when Warriors - back to his proper pretty boy glory - returned with Twilight, these two certainly were also all too happy to join into the for nine heroes way too small makeshift nest. And then Warriors and Wind bullied Time to join in too. With all of them, surely no one and nothing would dare attack their nest.

The pseudo pack's first fight ended with their first pack nest and thus a cuddle pile, the purring of their Omegas making the younger ones quickly fall asleep - even the normally insomniac Veteran managed a good few hours for once though his ears never stopped listening and twitching, trying to hear any possible threats. While they still had a long way to go to a proper pack, the basis was laid that day.

Especially with the family ties already between some of them.
