“He’s my intern.” Dazai hums, not looking up at the redhead. “Speak, Atsushi!” He says, like he was telling a dog to do a trick. “You’re wasting daylight.”
“Er…” Atsushi blinks, glancing between the two.
“Yawn. I think I can see the sun setting already.”
“Uh—!” The white-haired boy flounders. “Male, late forties or early fifties. The finger and toe pads have been abraded completely, and the face looks like it got bashed a few times to hide identity.”
“When?” Dazai asks boredly.
“Oh!” Atsushi scrambles. “…Postmortem?”
“Cause of death?”
“N-no. Cause of death isn’t clear yet.”
Dazai nods approvingly, but Chuuya just scowls. “Speak English, please.”

‘Shut up!’ the man roared. In the dimly lit tent, there was no mistaking the markings on his skin had indeed started glowing red this time.
‘Mh…now we’re getting somewhere…’ Dazai hummed. ‘Did I hit a nerve, Arahabaki?’
‘Chuuya.’ the man finally breathed out. ‘My name is Chuuya.’
‘So what makes them call you by a different name? Are you deceiving them?’
‘I wish it was that simple…’ he huffed.
Dazai looked at the person in front of him and grinned.
‘I like the name Chuuya much better.’

Summary
The kyber crystal chooses the Jedi. Wielding a saber whose crystal didn't choose you will never be as easy as wielding your own. This means sabers a) have the capacity to like or dislike people and b) have the capacity to be obstinate little shits to people they dislike.
If a certain Jedi's saber really likes you, I'm not saying it means you're soulmates, but I'm not saying it DOESN'T mean you're soulmates, either.
Most works reference each other but stand alone fairly well, so reading previous isn't necessarily required, but I would recommend reading at least the first before Cards on the Table. To readers who want all the fluff and nothing else, skip that last one. Series is listed as complete but I may wander back someday should my muse desire.
