Kusuo has been courting Shun for two months now, and they tried to be low key, they really tried to- but y'know how schools are… gossip is like nectar for the hive .
Shun had just entered the school, he had literally just passed through the school gate, when he noticed a group of friends gossiping at the benches near the gate. It's okay to gossip and normally Shun wouldn’t care, but what makes them conscious is the fact that they're looking at him while they're whispering to each other.
Shun wanted the earth to swallow him whole.
He came back to his senses when someone suddenly placed a hand on his shoulder making him turn around in shock, but all his problems seeped away from his mind when he saw Kusuo. He smiled at the teen, taking his hand and squeezing it.
"Isn’t it a bit early? Why are you here so soon? Usually you arrive around 7:30.” Kusuo says to the bluenette, intertwining his and Shun's fingers as they walk and talk. They looked for a seat, and Shun thought of sitting on the bench that was about 10 feet away from the gossiping group so they had a direct view of the two's PDA.
I hope their jealousy eats at their insides .
"I know, but I wanted to spend more time with you. It's hard when we only talk for about 30 minutes and then we rush up to class. At least now we can talk for a long time.” Shun explains, leaning his head on Kusuo's shoulder on purpose to make one of the girls staring directly at him jealous.
The blue haired one who is standing openly scowls, rolling her eyes harshly as she turns her head to her friends and starts blabbering about something but Shun doesn't pay attention to her anymore- He knows that he won anyway.
"Shun… did you choose to sit here because of them?" Kusuo asked, looking down at Shun with an eyebrow raised. The boy just giggles.
“Maybe. They gossip too much- It's so annoying to think that they only talk about me almost every day. It's not my fault that you chose to date me ." Shun admits, a pout forming on his face as he lets out a sigh before closing his eyes. “ Delusional bitches .”
Kusuo's laughter was so loud that some birds suddenly flew away because they were surprised by his noise. Kusuo didn't expect Shun to be able to say that because most of the time, he is kind and timid by nature; The boy rarely felt jealousy or anger or annoyance, but maybe the early morning disturbance stirred something in his heart.
Safe to say, Kusuo found it very attractive.
"Okay, mi azul , I support you. Just continue to have that confidence, because you know that you will always win." Kusuo says, purposely saying it louder so the girls on the other bench can hear them.
It didn't take long for the girls there to leave because they were overwhelmed with irritation at the PDA the two had no shame in doing.

October— it's been four months since Kusuo courted Shun and two months have passed since the gossip girls incident. Shun's social life improved organically, something about hanging out with Kusuo brought out an extroverted side that his classmates had never seen and they suddenly realized just how cool and quick-witted he can be (Even though the teen's hero-complex is still there, it's funny now that they finally got to know him better.).
Shun was getting along with the class better and he finally found himself a secure friend group because of it— Aren Kuboyasu, Chiyo Yumehara, and Riki Nendou; The four of them grew close after their event of celebration for ‘ The Month of Our Mother Tongue ’ because Chiyo tripped while doing tinikling and Nendou tried to catch her,but instead they both fell to the floor; So in the end, Aren and Shun were the ones to bring the two to the clinic and that’s where they had such a fun and lovely conversation- so much fun that they grew close because of it. #power_of_friendship.
Kusuo's friend group got acquainted with Shun's friend group making his group of 4 turn into a group of 7, all bonding closely. The addition of Kineshi Hairo and Reita Toritsuka was funny to see, because the dynamic between Nendou and Kineshi is amusing because they’re both very competitive with each other and Reita is just the group's favorite to tease. (Chiyo tries to defend him sometimes , but she can only do so much until Reita digs himself into a hole too deep for Chiyo to fish him out of.).
The seven friends went to the mall and they thought of going to an arcade to play something because they didn't want to go home yet. Kusuo and Shun just accompanied the others, following wherever they went and just talking to each other because the others were busy playing.
"Kusuo, look! Holy shit, it’s so cute…” Shun says suddenly, pointing excitedly at a crane game with stuffed charmanders inside.
"Oh yeah, cool! Do you want one? I’ll win it for you." Kusuo says, and Shun just rolls his eyes with a laugh. Kusuo raises an eyebrow.
“The games are sooo rigged here. Don't waste tokens~” Shun says, laughing as he takes Kusuo's hand and tries dragging him away from the machine. The pink haired boy doesn't budge, a determined look on his face.
"Watch me." Kusuo says with confidence and it makes Shun think that boy has been hanging out with Kineshi too much recently.
In the end, Shun was right and Kusuo didn't win anything, the 13 tokens he had were all used up. This makes Shun laugh, patting the other boy's head lightly. "That's ok, Kusuo. I told you not to, but what can I do when you acted so confident earlier? You can get your revenge next time, rosas ." He says, comforting the other the best he can.
The two make their way back to their friends, watching Kineshi and Nendou compete in air hockey. When Nendou won, the two got up and shook hands, with Kineshi vowing that in their next game he would win. They separated ways after that; Aren, Nendou, and Kineshi commuting with each other, then Chiyo and Reita went together because Reita was going to drop off Chiyo at her house.
"Are you gonna head home too, Kusuo?" Shun asks, and the pinkette shakes his head.
"Wait, let's go to Miniso first before I take you to the bus terminal." He says, and Shun is confused but he just nods.
Shun went home hugging an Ice Bear plush that day .

6 months into Kusuo's courting of Shun and it's December, Christmas is coming but that's not the only thing their batch is talking about- Prom is also coming up; It's only two months away and most of them are already looking for a prom partner because their teachers have told them that if they haven't found a partner before the end of the year, the teachers will choose their partner for them.
At this point, most of Kusuo's die-hard fans have accepted that they don't have a chance with him anymore and they just look for someone else to ask out for prom; As for Shun, even though he knew in his heart that he was Kusuo's desired partner, he was still conscious because there were other girls who insisted on asking Kusuo out.
That feeling of consciousness will disappear soon enough, though Shun just doesn't know yet.
That Friday was quiet, most of their classes were just free time because the teachers immediately finished their lesson the week prior because the following week they had exams and after that it was the Christmas party. Shun was getting sleepy while waiting for their lunch break.
When the bell rang, Shun suddenly woke up from his sleep and yawned. He was about to continue sleeping, though, because he had no intention of eating lunch since he had already finished his food during their very first free time; That was his plan, but Aren and Chiyo forced him to stand up.
“Shunnnnnn~ Come on!! Lunch is boring without you eating our food to make sure it's not poisoned by the ' Dark Reunion '!" Chiyo convinced the bluenette, pulling at his hand while Aren pushed the boy.
"Hey! I'm the one taking initiative in making sure you're safe and I’m suddenly the bad guy here???" Shun complains, trying to shake off Chiyo's hold and Aren's push against him. It was not effective because the two were very much stronger than him (Volleyball athletes advantage, honestly.).
"Alright, Shun, whatever you say, dude." Aren said, laughing as Shun got defensive. Step 1 of their plan was successful.
Step 2 was the arranging of Shun's classroom which they didn't have a hard time doing because they had the help of the adviser of Shun’s class. Every day, Kusuo is thankful that Shun's adviser is so open-minded, because if he wasn't like that, it would be very difficult for Kusuo to prepare things right now.
Kusuo's promposal plan was simple - he had his question written out on a large sheet of blue paper and held six Hyacinths in hand because he knew it was Shun's favorite flower (he chose six because he has been courting Shun for six months.).
Aren and Chiyo were going up the stairs, walking behind Shun. Kineshi, Reita, and Nendou were hanging out in the hallway, acting as lookouts for step 3 of the plan: Turn off the lights and wait for the cue. Aren and Chiyo signal the three, making sure Shun didn't see what they were doing; The bluenette was surprised when he saw that Kusuo's friends enter their classroom.
"Chiyo, why did they enter our room? Is Ku inside?” Shun asks, turning around to look at his two friends, but they both just shrugged.
"Maybe; Let's go in, he might be there." Aren answered and rushed into the classroom with Chiyo following behind him before closing the door in front of Shun's face.
"What the fuck, Aren???" Shun yells out, surprised that his friends left him so suddenly. "Chiyo, open it, dude!" The bluenette whines, hitting the door softly- he doesn't want it to break.
When the door was not opened for him, he tried peeking through the window of the door but with the darkness of the classroom, he couldn’t see anything. Shun moved away from that door and went to the other door of their classroom, praying that they wouldn't have locked it as well.
Step 4: Surprise .
When Shun opened the door, the light of his classroom suddenly turned on and he was surprised to see his adviser holding a card that read " Mi Azul, will you be my prom date? " and many of his classmates holding balloons. Shun was so happy and touched, but he was still looking around because he couldn't see where Kusuo was. Just when he was about to ask, Kusuo came out from behind his classmates holding six flowers.
Hyacinth; His favorite .
" Mi Azul , Shun, will you-" Kusuo stopped asking when he saw that Shun was crying. "Shun? Are you okay? Do you not like this? Oh my God, I’m so sorry-” Kusuo went to apologize immediately and Shun's classmates and their adviser tried their best not to laugh at the events.
"I'm not saying I didn't like it!" Shun quickly says, letting out a sweet laugh in the midst of his tears as he slowly wipes his tears before hugging Kusuo. "Of course I would. My answer is yes, Kusuo, I want to be your prom date." He says, and the previous insecurities he had have already disappeared from his mind. He knows now that he was secured.
The class goes wild, cheering for the two and excitedly congratulating both of them for finally getting a partner for prom. Their adviser calmed them down as he rolled up the paper he had been holding earlier. "Shun, I'm going to list Kusuo as your partner, okay?" Their teacher asks, confirming one last time because he needs to put it in his database.
The bluenette answers ' yes ', but that's not the only thing he wants to say yes to. He already knew he wanted to answer Kusuo, all he had to do now was set-up a plan.

Prom day, January, and 8 months into Kusuo courting Shun. Kusuo didn't know that his courting would end today.
They were in their hotel room that they booked for the prom so they don’t have to travel so late at night just to go home. There were only three of them in the room (Chiyo, Aren, and Shun) sharing, because Nendou and Kineshi decided to skip prom to play around.
"Shun! Brooooo, you look so handsome!" Chiyo compliments Shun after he comes out of the bathroom after he changed and Aren claps in agreement.
"Wow, you look so cool~ Is this the effect of finally going to answer Kusuo?" Aren said teasingly and he and Chiyo both laughed when Shun rolled his eyes at them.
But nevertheless, the bluenette smiles, smoothing down any wrinkles on what he's wearing before turning to the floor length mirror in the room and he stares at it carefully; A velvet black blazer on top of his light blue dress shirt and pastel pink vest. He looks down at his dress pants and heeled velvet boots that Kusuo gave him at the Christmas party- and of course he hasn't lost his iconic bandages that are wrapped around his hand; But the color of it right now is pastel pink so they are matching with Kusuo’s dress shirt.
"Fuck, I'm nervous." Shun says, but Chiyo and Aren comfort him as much as they can- they both know that the night will turn out well.
And so, Shun's plan begins.
Step 1, directly at their prom reception, the DJ plays a slow song and Shun rushes Kusuo to dance with him.
Kusuo laughs, putting his own blazer back on because he took it off earlier while they were eating. What he is wearing is almost the same as Shun except the color of his vest and dress shirt are inverted: light blue and pastel pink respectively. He also leans down to put his dress shoes back on.
" Rosas ... you're telling me that your shoes were off during the entire main event????" Shun asks in confusion, an amused smile replacing it when Kusuo nods without hesitation.
Dancing with Kusuo is step 2 and to be honest, it was just a diversion because he needs help from Chiyo and Reita (they were partners for prom). When he sees the two, he winks at them and that's the cue for step 3: Song request and telling the DJ to bump it up because it's extra special.
One of Kusuo's hands rested on Shun's waist and the other held the bluentte's free hand as they were dancing to the slow song that was playing earlier and waiting for it to end. Shun lifted his head from Kusuo's shoulder, giggling when the pink haired teen raises his hand that was intertwined with Shun’s and twirls him around; Kusuo also lets out a giggle when Shun twirls him around as well. The two didn't realize that the song was over until they heard the DJ's voice.
" Say Yes To Heaven by Lana Del Ray, as requested by Shun Kaidou and dedicated to his boyfriend: Kusuo Saiki! "
Kusuo almost fell over in shock, but immediately regained his step and moved to hug Shun. " Thank you . Thank you, mi azul , for trusting me. I'll make sure you won't regret saying yes to me.” The teen almost cries with joy, his hug to the bluenette only tightened.
Shun giggles, hugging his boyfriend back while tears slowly build up in his eyes.
The eight months of assurance was worth every second, since now they have a long future where Shun and Kusuo will choose to be together every day; Love is not something guaranteed everyday unless you choose to do so, and that’s what the two promise each other.
