It all spiraled from there, the sense of maladjustment reminding him of the pseudo-conversation he had with that boy in the bathroom, and along with it of everything that was fucked. Like the pile of paperwork waiting for him in his new office, that made him feel illiterate and slow, like the apathetic smiles Korn offered him whenever they’d meet, as if he hadn’t made sure to manipulate every detail of his past. Like the nights he’d fall asleep without Kinn by his side, or even worse, the nights when he felt lonely despite their bodies pressed together, unable to word any complaint that might have passed through his mind.
He didn’t know how; he didn’t believe he had the right to lament. There were people who would have killed to have what he had. But Porsche had only ever wanted Kinn.
