Fever was a bitch, Rok Soo knew that already.
But a fever so bad that threw him into a delirium state, somehow managed to surprise him.
It wasn't unusual for him to get sick, especially after dealing with hordes of hungry and insatiable monsters, all the knowledge he had acquired from his version of... the future of a parallel world? could only help him so much.
His thoughts were interrupted by a dry, deep cough that made his chest ache sharply even after he calmed down. He sank deeper into the blankets, trying to find the warmth his body lacked.
The beep beep beep of the thermometer made him open his eyes, but he couldn't find it anywhere, even as the sound kept ringing incessantly, booming in his head like drums.
Maybe he really was delirious, because he could almost believe it was his phone ringing even when that wouldn't make sense.
Well, no, it would make sense, he was the "prophet" after all, and he couldn't remember if he had told them he was sick or not.
But as his brain so kindly muttered to him, “They don't care about you.” So it must be his imagination.
