His old neighbors in Morepesok were confused when they learned about his vision; ‘But he was always such a nice boy, wouldn’t he make for a good healer?’. His parents had asked the same thing at first, too. They didn’t understand that he couldn’t– the Abyss didn’t do healing. Any attempt would be futile, and at the end of the day not especially useful; after all, nothing could truly die in the Abyss, only be corrupted to the point of being unrecognizable.
Of course, outside of the Abyss he’d had to figure out how to mend his wounds, but his vision wasn’t much help. No matter how injured he was, no matter how much it would be really nice to be able to heal himself, it never flickered to life when he needed it.
