Hospital Hallways | Luke Danes

Summary:

It was no secret that Luke hated hospitals. Everything from the sterile lighting, the smell of antiseptic in the corridors, to the constant hustle and bustle admits the calm.

Work Text:

It was no secret that Luke hated hospitals. Everything from the sterile lighting, the smell of antiseptic in the corridors, to the constant hustle and bustle admits the calm. Not to mention the constant rotation of diseases and dying patients.

On a normal day, he could think of a million and one places that he would rather be but today he couldn't think of a single solitary reason to be anywhere else.

(Y/N) had fallen outside the diner. Black ice. Luke had seen it happen; he had rushed out to help her up but quickly found that she couldn't stand by herself. Her leg was broken, he knew that as much which meant a trip to the ER. Luke had offered to drive her, but it was only on the drive up did he realise what that entailed: being stuck in a hospital waiting room.

Luke went though, and he stayed in the waiting room as they examined her leg. He waited even though he hated nothing more than hospitals because there was nothing else he loved more than (Y/N).

He had loved her from a distance for a while. She came into the diner more and more, reciprocating Luke's flirting although he was convinced that hers were only friendly. He watched her from a distance, he didn't allow himself to get involved. She deserved something better than him, something better than what he could give her.

So he resigned himself to be her shoulder to cry on, to be there when she needed a friend. If he couldn't be anything more, Luke was happy to be the man to take her to the hospital when she broke her leg.
