Amara had a couple of children, that she foisted off to nurses then preceptors—that what's expected from a lady of her standing. Adequate heirs. A formality, a transaction, certainly not a vocation. Motherhood? Bah.
Becoming a grandmother however? Past the initial ‘oh no that makes me old’ panic, she finds she takes great pride in her first grandson's developments.
Markers and milestones are very general guidelines, no timeline is really set in stone.
She takes a fortnight early as proof of exceptional giftedness… as if she somehow was responsible for it, and not the child's actual parents or caregivers.
