Work Text:
It was a long day of bank runs and dispensary deliveries for Mickey. His idiot brother, Colin, got hammered the night before and didn’t bother to show up for work. This left Mickey to take over his bulk of work for the day on top of everything Mick had to get done for the day. He was fucking annoyed and tired. Walking down the hallway of the apartment building with keys in hand, all the former south side thug wanted to do was have a beer, hug his kid and have some fun time with his husband.
Mickey could already hear laughter on the other side of the apartment door before he even got to it. The sounds of his husband and daughter on the other side made his thoughts about his shitty day disappear. Stepping into the apartment Mickey was instantly slapped in the face with a sweet, warm aroma. Shrugging his jacket off his shoulders and hanging it up by the front door, Mickey turned and made his way down the small hallway that opened up into their kitchen and living room. His eyes grew wide once he saw the scene in front of him.
Cookies. Cookies everywhere.
Plates and bowls of cookies were all over their kitchen counter and table. Mickey didn’t even realize that his jaw dropped ever so slightly as he tried to take in what he was looking at. He was brought out of his stare by the sound of clatter coming from his left. There stood Ian in the kitchen wearing a dark blue apron just covered in various baking ingredients. He had just closed the oven door with his foot while holding a mixing bowl in one hand, wooden spoon in the other stirring the mixture in the bowl.
“What’s going on here?” Mickey asked in a tone that was both confused and amused.
Ian looked up with a large smile. His eyes lighting up that his husband was home.
“Hey! Welcome home!” Ian exclaimed from his spot in the kitchen. Ian didn’t move to greet Mickey, he remained focused on the task at hand. “Look Lina, Papa’s home!” Ian called out to their daughter, continuing to mix the cookie dough a bit aggressively.
It wasn’t until he heard the sound of chair legs scratching against the hardwood floor, that Mickey realized Lina had been sitting at the kitchen table this whole time. She was being blocked by a large bowl of cookies on the table in front of her. She climbed down from the chair and ran over to Mickey. She collided with his legs, giggling loudly and reaching up for him to pick her up.
“Hey, shortcake.” Mickey hoisted her up into his arms and rested her on his hip.
“Papa, Daddy made lots of cookies!” Lina excitedly pointed out the obvious. Mickey raised his brows at his daughter and nodded his head.
“I see that. How many of those cookies have you had?” He asked. It was clear that Ian was letting Lina indulge during their time together. There were smears of chocolate from the cookies around her mouth and on her shirt. Her light blue shirt matched Ian's aprons as it was also stained with chocolate and what Mickey assumed was flour.
“Three!” The little girl shoved three fingers in Mickey's face and started to bounce around in her father's arms. The mix of sugar and excitement was making this kid more fidgety than normal.
Mickey chuckled at his daughters' antics as he tried to keep a solid hold on the bouncing child. He used the bottom of her already messy shirt to wipe her face clean. She wasn’t a fan of it as she started to whine and push away.
“Okay, Cookie Monster. Let’s cool it with the chocolate chips and save some for later, huh?” Mickey carried her over to her play area and set her down in her bean bag chair. He dragged the chair, with a giggly Lina, and set her up in the living room. Mickey turned the TV on and put it on the first kid friendly thing he could find. The familiar sound of SpongeBob's iconic laugh filled the room and Mickey knew this would definitely hold his daughter attention so he could talk to Ian.
With Lina now occupied, Mickey turned back towards the kitchen and put his focus on Ian. He had since set the bowl down and was using a spatula to pick up and transfer fresh cookies into a bowl that was almost overflowing. Ian’s green eyes were laser focused on what he was doing, not even paying any mind to Mickey who was now standing directly across the counter from him.
“You planning on opening a bakery, Gallagher?” Mickey asked sarcastically, his eyes scanning the cookie covered countertop. Ian laughed loudly and shook his head.
Mickey recognized that specific laugh. Ian was laughing like what Mickey said was the funniest thing he had ever heard. Mickey gave a fake small smile to the laughing redhead. Ian set down the spatula and walked around the counter to Mickey's side.
“Taste this.” Ian instructed, shoving a fresh cookie into Mickey's mouth.
With no warning or time to react, Mickey instinctively pushed Ian back a bit. Mickey reached up and pulled the cookie that was force fed to him out of his mouth.
“Look, I don’t mind when you shove hot, sweet things into my mouth. But at least give me a fucking warning, man.” Mickey remarked. Ian just smirked and went back into the kitchen.
The dark haired Milkovich took a bite of the cookie and was pleasantly surprised that it was good. Neither one of them was super amazing in the kitchen. They had both gotten better over the years. As far as Mickey was concerned, they have yet to poison each other or anyone in the family yet so that was a win. Baking though? Not Mickey. Ian had done it a few times, but it was nothing too special. But these were pretty damn good.
“Hey, these aren’t bad.” Mickey expressed his surprise to Ian. Ian looked up wide eyed with excitement.
“Right? One of the moms at the center had brought a whole tub of these for parents and volunteers. I tried one and, Mickey, it was one of the best cookies I’ve ever had! She was so nice and wrote the recipe down for me.” Mickey watched his love in a pain stricken awe as Ian rambled on about the cookies. He knew this wasn’t Ian, he knew it was his bipolar paying them a visit. After all this time, Mickey still couldn’t keep up with Ian when he was excitable like he was now. But, he would take Ian going a million miles a minute than have him crying and depressed in bed.
“We didn’t have all the ingredients here, so me and the little lady stopped off and grabbed a few things before we came home.” Ian concluded as he washed his hands in the sink, which was overflowing with dishes.
“A few things?” Mickey questioned skeptically. “There are enough cookies here to start a gang war with those girls scout brats who are always outside the store. Those thin mints are fucking amazing though.” Mickey motioned to the barrage of baked treats all over their apartment.
Ian stopped for a moment and looked up, clearly thinking, he snapped his fingers and pointed at Mickey. He turned and pulled open one of the drawers and pulled out a box of large Ziploc bags.
“I can take some to the station house, you can take some to the warehouse. There’s Lip and Tami, Debbie, we can take some to the whole family. Oh you’ve got to see this!” Ian suddenly dropped the box onto the counter and reached for his phone. Mickey thought he was gonna get whiplash watching Ian.
Ian came back around to stand next to his husband again, this time putting an arm around his shoulder and holding his phone up for Mickey to see. Ian pressed play on the video and watched with a smile. Mickey couldn’t help but smile as well as he watched. It looks like Ian set up his phone and recorded Lina helping him mix all the ingredients to make the cookies. Lina would look up at Ian with a large grin and would flap her hands every time Ian threw in a new ingredient. Eventually a flour fight broke out, which explains why they both looked like they were rolling around in the stuff.
“Lina did such a great job helping me.” Ian said proudly. Mickey’s genuine smile from watching the video started to turn sad. Ian was acting a bit manic, and Lina had absolutely no clue what was happening. She probably just thought that her and Daddy were having the best day ever. It brought a pain to Mickey's heart that he hadn’t felt before. Mickey reached a hand up and gave Ian's wrist a squeeze.
“Okay, Pilsbury. Maybe you should hang up the apron for the day.” Mickey suggested turning to face Ian. His hands snaked around Ian's waist and he started to untie the back. Ian, taking this act as something suggestive, quickly lifted the apron over his head and tossed it to the side. Giving Mickey a seductive smirk, he pulled the older man closer to him.
Suddenly a shrill beeping sound emitted from the kitchen catching them both off guard. It was the smoke alarm.
“Oh shit!” Ian yelled over the sound and ran to the oven. He was so focused on other things that he completely forgot about the batch of cookies that he had in the oven.
Mickey didn’t even have a chance to react to the situation in the kitchen. Lina’s loud cries hit his ears just as loudly as the smoke alarm. Tears were rolling down her face, her arms clamped tightly around her ears and her hands in her hair. Mickey quickly scooped her up and sat on the couch with her. Not having her headphones within reach, Mickey managed to force one of his hands under her arm to help cover her ears as he held her close into his chest in an attempt to shield her from the sound.
Ian waved a dish towel in front of the alarm to clear the smoke. It was another minute before the alarm stopped and the only sound was Lina’s cries and Mickey’s calming words.
“I got you. I got you. The sound’s all gone now.” Mickey spoke, trying to gently pull her hands from out of her hair. Her tears stopped, but she simply rocked in Mickey's lap, not wanting to move her arms or hands from her head.
Ian went over to the sofa and knelt down in front of his upset child.
“It’s okay, Lina! Silly Daddy just burnt the cookies! You don’t have to be upset!” Ian said with a smile and a chuckle, like it was a joke that was meant to be funny.
Mickey looked at Ian dumbfounded and shook his head.
“Jesus, Ian!” Mickey scoffed, standing up with Lina and walking down the hall opposite from the kitchen toward their daughter's room. He didn’t bother to look back at Ian’s reaction.
Mickey got Lina calm and settled in her room. He set her up and pulled up more SpongeBob on an iPad that Liam gave to her. Once he knew she was good, Mickey came back out into the living room where Ian was now sitting on the sofa.
Mickey rubbed the back of his neck and just stared at his husband. He was looking at a different man than he saw just minutes ago. Ian had a more sullen demeanor now. His arms resting on his legs, hands clasped together and jumping slightly on top of his bouncing knee. Ian felt Mickey’s eyes watching him. Mickey didn’t even realize he was doing that until Ian spoke.
“What?” Ian asked sharply, looking straight ahead.
Mickey let out a sigh.
“Did you take your meds today?” He had to ask. Ian hated that question, but it was necessary to ask.
Ian turned his head slowly toward Mickey. His hurt expression was mixed with one of annoyance.
“Seriously?” Ian asked, brows raised.
Mickey remained silent and just kept eye contact with Ian. Ian scoffed, unclasping his hands and resting them palm down on his knees.
“Yes. I took my fucking meds today.” He replied through gritted teeth.
At this point it was too late to turn back and Mickey knew something was up. Either his husband was lying about his meds or there was a chance that they just needed to be adjusted. There was just something lurking underneath Ian’s surly expression.
“Did something happen at work?” Mickey continued to question.
“I’m not manic.” Ian replied with no hesitation in a moderately raised voice.
Mickey raised his hands up in defense.
“I didn’t say that. I’m just asking what’s going on.” Unlike Ian, Mickey's voice got lower and softer. Not only did he not want to agitate Ian, but he didn’t want their daughter to hear a screaming match between the two.
Ian stood up off the couch and turned his body to face Mickey. His eyebrows were now furrowed, lips pulled tight and his jaw clenched.
“You don’t have to say it, Mickey. I can see it written all over your face!” Ian shouted, pointing a finger at his husband.
Mickey took a step toward Ian, reaching out one of his raised hands out to him.
“I’m just making sure everything is good with you.” Mickey reached to grab one of Ian's hands.
Ian yanked his hand away the second he felt Mickey touch him. He placed his hands on Mickey's shoulders and shoved him back. Mickey was able to keep his balance which resulted in him only stumbling back rather than falling.
“It was until you started asking me these bullshit questions!” Ian yelled as he shoved his husband away from him.
“Ian–” Mickey started as he tried to get close again. Ian repeated his action of pushing Mickey away from him, this time he pushed him hard enough that Mickey fell back into the armchair.
“Just fuck off, Mickey!” Ian turned and stormed off into their bedroom. The door slammed with such force that Mickey jumped a bit.
Mickey let out a shuddered breath and held his head in his hands. He could feel tears welling up behind his eyes. No matter how many times Mickey told himself it was the disease, it didn’t make the hurt any less that he couldn't do anything to ease his husbands pain. Focused on keeping his tears in, Mickey took a deep breath and rubbed his eyes with the palms of his hands. The creaking of a door opening could be heard and footsteps made their way toward Mickey. He uncovered his eyes when he felt a hand resting on his knee.

Ian slammed the door behind him as he entered the bedroom. He paced back and forth in front of the door. His hands clasped behind his head as he tried to hold his emotions in.
He couldn’t believe that Mickey was bombarding him with questions about his meds. For what? Just because he went a little bit overboard baking cookies? As far as his mania goes, Ian has done much crazier shit than this. So why was Mickey questioning him?
Ian stopped in his tracks. He didn’t want to talk. He didn’t want Mickey to coddle him and treat him like he was ready to break. He hated the look on Mickey's face when he felt like Ian was acting out of sorts. Ian rested his back against the door and slid down onto the floor.
Everything was fine. He was fine. All he was doing was spending time with his daughter, baking cookies and laughing. Sure he may have made a few too many, but Lina was having a blast. At least she was until the smoke alarm went off. Then she was crying. She shouldn't have been crying. They were having a great time.
Ian’s head was swimming with these thoughts. Mickey’s first reaction was to go to Lina and calm her. He only laughed. His daughter was upset and scared…. And Ian was laughing. Why the fuck was he laughing?
Ian let his head fall back and hit the door. Just as Ian was about to start banging his head repeatedly against the door, he could hear voices just outside. He turned his body and pressed his ear against the door.

Mickey looked at the little girl standing in front of him. She was holding her stuffed sloth, Flash, to her chest and patting Mickey's knee. Her face looked up at him curiously. He gave her a sad smile and picked her up to sit on his knee. He quickly wiped away a tear that had fallen so that Lina wouldn’t catch him crying.
“Papa, why did you make Daddy mad?” Lina asked.
____________________________________________________________________________
Hearing the question through the door hit Ian like a truck. She thought Mickey did something to upset him. But why would she think any differently? In her eyes everything seemed fine until Mickey got home. She didn’t realize that it wasn’t Mickey's fault.
____________________________________________________________________________
Mickey wasn’t surprised at all by her question. He wasn’t gonna try to explain to his 6 year old that he didn’t do anything wrong. Might as well go with it.
“I didn’t mean to make him mad. I was just making sure that he was okay.” Mickey explained to her. If she thought it was his fault Ian was mad then that was fine with him.
____________________________________________________________________________
Ian listened to Mickey's answer. Listened to Mickey willingly accepting the blame. It wasn’t his fault. Mickey only tried to help. Ian knew that deep down, the mood swings just made it hard for him to see that. What made all of this sting even more was the possibility that anytime Ian got mad, Lina would assume it was Mickey's fault.
Ian wasn’t okay with this.
____________________________________________________________________________
Lina looked at Mickey with concern.
“Did he get hurt?” Lina asked worriedly.
Mickey gave her a comforting squeeze and swept some of her messy brown hair out of her face.
“No, he’s not hurt, Sweet Face.” Mickey assured her. She accepted the answer, giving a nod as she started to play with Flash’s claws.
Lina started to fidget around on Mickey's knee. She adjusted herself so her head was laying in the crook of his arm. Mickey awkwardly tried to cradle her, unsure on what she was trying to do exactly. He just didn’t want her falling onto the floor. Once she stopped moving Lina hugged Flash tightly.
“Did I make Daddy mad?” She asked so slowly, her eyes clearly starting to water.
Mickey looked down at her sadly. He tried to sit her back up so he could talk to her properly. Line whined at her father when he tried to adjust her. Mickey gives up with a sigh and leaves her how she is.
____________________________________________________________________________
“No.” Ian whispered, answering her question to himself.
Ian couldn’t bear it anymore. Mickey was already taking the blame. Now Lina was questioning if she was to blame too. As a kid, Ian would often think that if he had behaved differently maybe Monica wouldn’t have acted as crazy as she did. If he had been a better son, maybe his mom would have stuck around. He was a kid who didn’t realize his mother was sick and he shouldn’t have had those thoughts in the first place. He understood why Fiona tried to shield him and his siblings away from Monica as much as she could, but Ian didn’t want that for his daughter. He didn’t want her to ever question if her actions were the reason for one of his mood swings or depressive episodes.
He wasn’t going to let history repeat itself.
____________________________________________________________________________
“Why would you think that?” Mickey asked her firmly.
Lina shrugged her shoulders and pulled on the stuffed sloth's fur. She was avoiding eye contact with him and just looked at Flash instead.
“Cause I cried when the loud noise started.” She said softly. Mickey reached a hand up to Linas's face and brushed his thumb against her cheek.
“Lina….” He started.
“You didn’t make me mad, Sweetheart.” Mickey looked up to see that Ian had come out of the bedroom and was leaning against the door frame.
Lina looked over in Ian's direction for a quick second before her eyes started to wander elsewhere.
“Did Papa?” She asked, pulling Flash up closer to her face.
Ian’s sad green eyes looked over at Mickey. He could see that Mickey had either cried or was on the verge of tears. Mickey’s slightly red eyes locked with Ian's.
“No, not Papa either.” Ian said directly to Mickey, not taking his eyes off of him.
“Then why did you say bad words to Papa?” Lina continued to ask. Clearly unsatisfied with the answers she was getting.
Ian took slow strides over to the sofa and took a seat. He reached an arm out and patted his lap with his hand.
“Come here.” He signaled her to join him. Lina slid out of Mickey's grasp and walked cautiously over to Ian. He grabbed her hand and pulled her so she was standing between his legs. He gave her a kiss to the forehead before lifting her up and setting her on his knee. Lina’s back was against his chest and just snuggled with Flash while playing with his feet.
“You and Papa didn’t do anything to make me mad.” Ian said, laying his cheek on top of her head. Ian looked again at Mickey who was watching the two of them, his thumb gently brushing his eyebrow.
“I have something called bipolar disorder.” Ian said aloud, not breaking his eye contact with Mickey.
Ian watched as Mickey's expression changed from a blank one to one of surprise. Mickey was definitely not expecting that this would be the moment they would discuss this with their child. Mickey looked at Ian with a raised brow, wondering if Ian was sure about this. Ian gave his husband a nod, his face smushed a little bit against his daughter's head.
Lina, who was clearly intrigued by her father's words, looked up at him. Ian didn’t really move. His chin was now resting on her forehead, which caused her to let out a small giggle.
“Polar? Like a polar bear?” She asked inquisitively. Both fathers smiled genuinely at their daughters' innocence.
“Not exactly.” Mickey joined in
Ian rested his arms around Linas's waist and covered her knees with his hands.
“It means that sometimes I act different. I’ll get sad or angry for no real reason.” He started to explain the best way he could. Him and Mickey never really had a full discussion on how and when they would explain his disorder to Lina. So, at this point he was just winging it.
“Like when I get fusrated?” Lina knew what being frustrated meant, she was just still struggling to say it properly.
“Kind of. You know how we say that your brain works differently than most people?” Ian continued.
The blue-eyed girl nodded up at him.
“Well, my brain works differently too.” Ian thought this was a good way to explain it to her.
Mickey took his chance to jump in and help Ian explain.
“Do you remember that one time you had to spend the weekend with your Uncle Lip and Aunt Tami? They took you and Fred to the zoo?” Mickey asked the little girl, watching her eyes light up at the mention of that day.
“Yeah! I got to see a sloth!” She excitedly held Flash up to Mickey and bounced in Ian's lap.
“That’s right. Well, I was here helping Daddy because his brain was making him really, really sad and tired.” The two men remembered that weekend vividly. Ian would go from being completely unresponsive to uncontrollable crying. No matter what Mickey could say or do, Ian wasn’t able to find any comfort in his husband's arms.
“Oh.” Lina simply said.
Ian watched as a small pout formed on her lips. She reached up to rub her brow, a nervous tick she undoubtedly got from seeing Mickey do it.
“Lina?” Ian wanted to know what was going through her head. This was new and life changing information she was getting. He just didn’t want her to be scared or confused.
“I don’t like it when you get sad. When you get sad Papa gets sad too.” Lina explained truthfully.
“And then you get sad.” Mickey finished her thought for her. Lina nodded and pushed herself up so that she was completely sitting in Ian’s lap.
Ian let her get settled before he continued.
“I don’t like it either. The last thing I ever want to do is make you and your Papa sad. I love you both so much. That’s why I have medicine, so that my brain doesn’t make me feel like that. But sometimes the medicine doesn’t always work. Sometimes my brain tells me not to take the medicine.” Ian looked between his husband and daughter. Mickey, for reassurance that he was saying the right things and Lina to make sure he wasn’t confusing her.
“But I take my medicine. Everyday. Do you know why?” He brought a hand up to her shoulder and gave her a squeeze. Lina looked at him in response.
“My mom had Bipolar too and she didn’t take her medicine. She would get super happy and would be so much fun to be around, but then she would get sad and go away. I wouldn’t see her for months, even years.”
Mickey never met Monica. He only knew of her, but they never got the chance to meet. He could hear the sadness in Ian’s voice as he was recollecting his relationship with her. Ian was the closest to Monica out of all the Gallagher siblings, but because of that he was also the most hurt by her. Mickey listened as Ian took in a shuddered breath, trying to keep it together for Lina.
“I take my medicine every day, because I don’t ever want to leave you or your Papa like my mom would leave me. I take it, even when my brain says, ‘you don’t need medicine.’”, Ian said in a funny monster-like voice, as if he was reading a story to their daughter. She giggled at the voice which made Ian smile.
Mickey shuffled from his seat on the chair over to join his family on the couch.
“That’s why I was trying to make sure Daddy was okay. I was checking to see if his brain was acting up and making him upset or if something else did it.” Mickey explained to her, answering her earlier question.
Ian put a finger under Lina’s chin and brought it up, so she was looking at him.
“You need to know that when I act like this, it has nothing to do with you or Papa. Okay? It’ll never be your fault and it’ll never be because of something you did. It’s important for you to remember that, Lina.” Ian spoke to her softly, but directly. Looking right into her bright blue eyes. Lina nodded silently when Ian finished.
“Does that make sense, Shortcake?” Mickey wanted to confirm that she had some kind of understanding of what Ian was talking about.
“Mmm hmm. The polar bears in Daddy’s brain sometimes make him sad and it’s not me or Papa making him sad.” Lina stated proudly, showing her dads that she was being a good listener.
“Close enough.” Ian said with a laugh, looking over at Mickey. He still had a somber look. Mickey got down off the sofa and kneeled in front of the girl in Ian’s lap.
“If you ever have any questions, you can always ask us. But I don’t want you to worry about it too much, okay. That is for me and Daddy to handle. Not you.” Mickey said sternly, booping her on her freckled nose as he ended his statement. Lina nodded, reaching forward and booping Mickey back.
The two men smiled.
“Can I have a hug?” Ian asked cutely. Lina spun herself around and wrapped her arms around Ian’s neck, basically slapping him with Flash in the process.
“I love you so much, Lady.” Ian said into her hair as he held her tightly, placing a kiss to the top of her head.
“I love you too, Daddy.” She returned the kiss, but she gave him a sloppy kiss on his cheek.
“All right, Gremlin. How about you go wash your face and change your shirt. We can go take some of these cookies to your aunts and uncles, huh?” Mickey suggested. He picked Lina up off of Ian’s lap and set her down, watching her skip back into the hallway to the bathroom.
Mickey gave a quick side glance to Ian. He was unmoving on the couch, lost in his own thoughts. Mickey let him be and walked into the kitchen. He started to put away whatever was left of the ingredients for the cookies. He wrapped the bowl of cookie dough with some plastic wrap and popped it into the fridge. Closing the door, Mickey turned to see that Ian was too in the kitchen. Ian started to place cookies in various Ziplock bags for them to take to the family.
The two remained silent for a few moments.
“I have to have an updated psych evaluation at work. Just to make sure my meds are balanced and I'm not having any kind of harmful ideations.” Ian was the first to speak. Mickey looked at him confused.
“Suicidal thoughts.” Ian clarified for his husband. Mickey nodded and just started to throw away any trash, crumbs and eggshells that were scattered everywhere.
“When did you find out?” Mickey asked a bit callously, but Ian ignored it.
“A few days ago.” He answered with a guilty voice.
Mickey, avoiding eye contact, nodded. He had known that something was bothering Ian. He was pissed that Ian still hid this kind of shit from him. They were supposed to be married. Ian always got on Mickey for hiding his emotions, but Ian would hide important things from him too.
Ian closed his eyes and sighed. He set down the now full bag of cookies and turned to face Mickey.
“It just felt like it came out of left field. There haven’t been any incidents. I haven’t been manic or harmed a patient in any way. There is nothing I have done that would make them question my mental state. It’s just because I have a mental illness. No matter what I do or say, it will always be a concern and I get it. I do. It still fucking sucks.” Ian let out in what felt like one long breath. Mickey stopped sweeping trash off the counter and looked at Ian.
“I just didn’t want to think about it.” Ian admitted. He looked defeated. Ashamed.
Mickey was seeing the full picture now. Ian was so determined to not think about his Bipolar and its effect on his job, that he tried to cover up those thoughts by trying to do something fun and memorable with their girl. Mickey was all for that, but it would have worked out a lot better If Ian had just talked to him about it.
“So, you thought auditioning for Great British Bake off was the way to go instead of talking to me?” Mickey understood completely, but he was still gonna give Ian shit for it.
“I’m sorry.” Ian apologized to Mickey before grabbing an empty Ziplock to fill with more cookies.
Mickey reached over and took the bag from Ian’s hands. Mickey pulled a cookie from the bag and grabbed Ian’s face.
“Don’t be. You heard the kid.” Mickey slapped Ian’s face gently for him to open his mouth. Ian smirked and did so as Mickey gingerly fed him one of the cookies.
“It’s the polar bears fault.” Mickey tapped the side of Ian’s head with his finger.
Mickey took a bite from the same cookie before Ian grabbed his face and the two shared a soft kiss.
