Ed’s big eyes widened at the use of this steadily improving Captain voice and he gulped. “Yeah, mate, alright.” He stood, bracing himself on a nearby trunk. “Won’t sleep here. By order of the captain.”

“Or I could, maybe,” Ed bit his lip ever so softly in what Stede knew was probably nervousness, even though he hoped it was something different. “Sleep in your room tonight?”
