“We’re not painting the guest room hot pink- absolutely not,” Aaron says, frowning down at his phone and not even looking at the color swatches in his partner’s hand.
“It’s not hot pink ,” they say, tapping his boyfriend with the cardstock slip until he glares at them with those piercing, gorgeous eyes they love so much. “It’s hot magenta. ”
“Smartass,” Aaron grumbles affectionately, stealing one of the swatches and swatting them on the arm with it. “No pink, nothing with ‘hot’ in the name.” In response, they hide their toothy, mischievous grin behind another paper, this one colored a neon, highlighter yellow titled ‘Smiley rubber duck’.
“You should have been more specific!” they argue with glee and a giggle, sidestepping the bundle of cotton rope Aaron takes out the cart and pitches at them.
“I’m going to take your name off the mortgage,” he threatens lovingly, casually fixing their hair and tucking it behind their ear when they put the rope back in the cart.
“Good fucking luck, the loan officer likes me better,” Smartass replies with a swift kiss to his cheek.
