Work Text:
Truth be told, Spencer and Shayne couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the emotions that swelled within them. They went from coworkers to friends and now parents to a tiny bundle of joy they had named The Chosen.
The karaoke night had been an impromptu adventure after a long day at the office. The deadlines and responsibilities faded away, replaced by the neon lights and the promise of off-key renditions of classic songs. The idea had been Courtney's, the group's source of spontaneity. Spencer was reluctant at first, thinking of his cozy bed and his video games. Shayne, the ever-supportive friend, convinced him that a night of musical fun was just what they needed. Little did they know that the karaoke night would mark the beginning of a deeper connection.
Now, at the Smosh Office, suffused with a sense of profound tranquility, as if time had paused to savor the significance of this moment, Shayne and Spencer stood side by side, their eyes fixated on the small crib with a green blanket where The Chosen was napping.
Spencer sighed and scratched his head. "Can you believe it, Shayne? We're parents now." His voice was filled with the resonance of a surreal reality.
The blond one, with a bewildered expression, replied, "I know, Spence. Who would've thought our journey would lead to this?".
A few feet away, Courtney, their best friend and godparent of The Chosen, was busy attempting to assemble a walker when Damien and Angela entered the space debating who would be in charge of diaper duty.
As they watched the baby stir in the crib, Angela, swaying her head left and right with a dog cone, piped up, "Well, Chosen, you've hit the jackpot with these two dads! And don't forget your cool uncles and aunties. Pretty sure uncle Ian already secured you a car."
Damien added with a mischievous grin, "That's right, little buddy. We'll teach you all the secrets of life, starting with how to avoid diaper duty".
Courtney, having finally managed to assemble the walker, chimed in. "Tis I, the baby walker, fully operational. I'm ready to race Chosen around the house!".
Damien, unable to resist, chimed in with enthusiasm, "Day at the races! Day at the races!" Angela couldn't help but roll her eyes at his 'Mario' reference.
Spencer took the walker, holding in a laugh. "Thanks, Courtney. Let's hope The Chosen inherits my love to play."
Shayne couldn't hold back a laugh. "Bruutal! We have a little Forrest Gump on our hands."
As the evening progressed, Chosen, now placed in his walker, was observing the world with his bright, curious eyes. Suddenly, he leaned forward and let out a nasal, "So..." as if contemplating his place in the world. Everyone turned their heads to the little one, laughter echoing through the room.
