Ryuji adjusted his collar, he didn't mind doing disguises for missions but this was too much. He never really wore much fancy things, especially a full on suit or whatever this butler outfit was. They had to get information on their next target at the rich guys big event, some celebration or whatever.
Haru would be seated, she had to act like she cares about this guys event. She was allowed to bring a plus one, so Makoto would be seated with her. Akira and Ryuji would pretend to be servers, but they would keep an ear out for any information about their target. Futaba gave them microphone on their outfits so her and the rest of the thieves would hear what was going on.
They were currently in a hallway right outside the main area, about to enter.
"You nervous?" Akira asked
"Not really? I'm just mot used to wearing on this fancy stuff."
Akira smiled, he looked like he was so used to wearing suit, he looked great in it too. Ryuji honestly felt like he was sticking out too much and Akira played his role perfectly.
"I know it's not your style, but you look great." Akira complimented Ryuji
"Thanks man, but you look more cut out for this stuff than I do."
"I had to go to a lot of formal events because of my mom's job, so I'm used to wearing suits, here lemme fix your tie."
Akira pulled Ryuji's tie up.
"My little man!" Akira joked in a high pitched mother voice
"Dude shut up!" Ryuji snickered, seriously how can this guy be joking during a mission like this?
They entered the room where the event was being held, and quickly found their way to where Haru and Makoto were seated.
"Hello Madams, what will you have today on this lovely evening?" Akira faked an accent and bowed all fancy, Haru giggled and Makoto's serious expression twitched into a smile. (Her special way of silently laughing)
Akira stood straight, "Are you guys good and ready?"
Makoto and Haru nodded, "Ryuji stop slouching!" Makoto hissed
Ryuji quickly straightened up, "Sorry! This really isn't my kind of event y'know?"
"Just be polite and you'll be fine." Akira said, "And you can here us ok?" he whispered into the microphone, and recieved a message later from Futaba, 'Loud and clear!'
"Good, then let's get to it, Ryuji and I will check in with you guys in a bit." Akira said, before they both departed into different areas.
Ryuji couldn't tell what Akira was doing, but whenever he did see him, he seemed to be fitting in perfectly.
Ryuji could tell he was getting some stares, his hair automatically made him seem out of place, sometimes he caught himself slouching, he kinda walked funny because of his leg, and he heard people whispering about him as he passed tables.
They did have to serve some food to better fit in, which would've been fine if these people weren't such assholes.
He walked around with a tray and when he approached 1 table, the guy was really rude, he shoved his jacket onto Ryuji, which he got slightly dirty because he was holding a tray of food, then complained about how he ruined his jacket, and kept going on and on. It was really humiliating, he felt like a kid who was being yelled at in front of people at the store. All he could was say "Sorry."
Haru smiled, she was excited to see Makoto all dressed up, she always looked so formal, so seeing the way she dressed when she actually had to be formal made her heart run in circles. She was unsure of herself at first but Makoto offered help, so she knew she would be okay.
They had gotten some good intel on their target, they found out the name too, all they had to do was just survive the rest of the night. Akira approached them, "Did you guys get anything good?" They nodded their heads, "We got his name, and some other good intel, Futaba heard most of it.
'I got a lot of good intel! This was a great plan!' Futaba mentioned.
Ryuji walks over to the table, looking defeated. "How much longer do we have to be here?"
"That bad?" Akira questioned
"You don't even wanna know..."
"The event ends in an hour, I think they're just doing some final event and then we can leave." Makoto said
A man walked up to the main stage and tapped the microphone getting their attention, "Ladies and gentlemen, Thank you all for joining us here tonight" the man announced, before going onto a big speech.
"God I hate when they do these 'thank you' speeches." Akira whispered to Ryuji, who giggled a bit at that.
"To thank all you for coming, feel free to stand and join the slow dance." The man ended his announcement. With that many people got up with their partner and danced as some fancy music played.
Haru looked over at Makoto and grabbed her hand, "Come on, let's dance."
Makoto blushed a bit at this, "Oh! Uhm... Ok..." She stood up and grabbed Haru's waist, looking around the room nervously.
"Don't worry." Haru rested her forehead onto Makoto's. they both relaxed and closed their eyes, focusing on the music and the dance between them.
Akira pulled Ryuji aside and bowed down, "Care to dance?" He said all fancy-like
"C'mon man!" Ryuji said while laughing
"I'm serious though, here give me your hand" Akira took Ryuji's hand and brought his other hand too Ryuji's waist.
Ryuji blushed, "Dude!"
Akira smiled, "Let's just enjoy this, because everything else here seemed to suck so much for you."
Ryuji gave in, he put his other hand on Akira's shoulder. He couldn't dance, he managed to trip them up a bit, but Akira just smiled. He relaxed into Akira's embrace, listening to the music and letting his mind drift off into a peaceful state. "Thank you, Akira, this whole thing sucked but you made it less sucky."
"I love you 'kira" Ryuji whispered as he put his forehead on Akira's.
Akira connected their lips, it felt good, a warm feeling exploded from their hearts to their whole body. Ryuji was clumsy but who cared? Akira was just glad he got his clumsy lips. They pulled away, both of them blushing and smiling,
"Love you too, Ryuji"
