Chapter Text
~~~~~~~ Nathaneil's pov ~~~~~~~
It was all stupid.
It wasn’t fair.
His Mother was gone, and he couldn't ask his Father about where she went because the first and only time he’d asked, he’d gotten a five hour training session with... Lola. She loved leaving marks, and she laughed when he cried.
It really wasn’t fair, he was 15 for gods sake he should be able to know where his Mother is! He’s killed multiple men and yet he can't go and look for his Mother? How does that make any sense?
His father blocked off any contact with the Hatfords, he almost took Nathaniel’s knives and gun, but Nathaniel is faster than most of his Father’s men, ignoring the Malcolm siblings, but they were rarely assigned too guard or search his room.
At least his Mother left behind her list of emergency contacts, all encrypted in a code only he and Mary knew. That's what lead Nathaneil to the present time. He had called one of the contacts on his list to get a passport made, making sure to state that Mary Hatford was his Mother in hopes that they would either make it more convincing, or cut the cost a bit, he assumed it worked. He had a measurement of his eye so he can get coloured lenses, hopefully his prescription is still valid so he won't end up with irritated eyes, and a fully packed bag with roughly 5 million dollars in cash and another 5 million hidden around the various states outside of Maryland. Thats how Nathaneil is saying
goodbye to his home, could he even call it that? The place where he nearly lost his eye to a stray knife, the place where he was almost sold to a human trafficking ring -he still wasnt sure what that was but it involved a 'testing day' to check if he was 'good enough' he was so glad he wasnt even if the resulting training sessions had been tougher than usual, it was worth it to never have to go through the horror of what those men had done to him ever again- , the place where... where he learnt to walk, where he said his first words, where he first screamed, he was leaving it all behind so easily.
Well, that isn't totally true, it wasn't easy to plan out the escape route and it wasn’t easy to slip past the men walking the halls, but Nathaneil had spent 15 years mapping out every crevice of every room, he had spent 15 years learning the creaks of the floorboards and the whines of the doors. He knew everything about this house. Even that the basement had a gash in the concrete where his Father had always smashed his hatchet, right before carving out someone's liver. He never let Nathaneil look away, saying that if he didn't look, they would be cutting his liver out instead.
So here Nathaneil stood, in the small patch of trees next to his house - his Father’s mansion. He needed to meet this contact to get his passport, it will say 16 with green eyes and dark red hair, so unlike his bright blue eyes and fiery red curls, then he could get a burner phone for emergencies, his Mother would hate that, but she didn’t have the right to hate what he did now, especially after leaving him all alone with them.
Where should he go first? Maybe Seattle? No that’s too far. Maybe he should go to Nebraska, apparently it’s a very scenic place? No, that’s far too close to Baltimore.
Maybe he should decide once he's got an identity, he doubts his Father will look for him, especially since he took the money from both the Hatfords and the Wesninskis, so there’s only about 2.5 million missing from each organisation. It was oh so hard to get money from the Hatfords, and to figure out how to get the money slowly out of each account as to not raise suspicions.
First, to find a bus that will get him close to the contacts location, he can go on foot from there.
