Still, they’re both aware that time is of the essence based on how much she likes trying to climb into their bed–even with a chair wedged beneath the doorknob–so when they get nothing but silence from the livingroom, he pulls Tess’s leg up to tug her other boot off himself to set it on the floor. The moment her foot is free, she pulls her ankle loose from his hold and presses it to his back, pulling him back in.
