A puff of white smoke escaped Craig’s lips as he breathed out into the chill air. The tall teen couldn’t help but give another small shiver, burying his hands into his pocket as deep as he could, finding any type of heat he could get.
You would think since Summer was approaching Craig wouldn’t be having this problem of being so damn cold, even as it neared dusk. Yet here he was, freezing his balls off. If anyone else had asked him to meet out at Stark’s Pond, he would have given them a look and a finger. But since it had been Tweek…
Well, how could he say no to his Sunshine?
And speaking of him, Craig couldn’t stop the smile from tugging on his lips when he spotted the blond pacing back and forth, muttering up a storm. He looked more frazzled than usual, and there was no doubt that he had something planned. Otherwise, why else would his paranoid sweetheart call him out in the middle of the park when it was almost night?
Craig decided to call out to Tweek before he could pace a hole in the ground.
“Honey.”
“Craig!”
Whipping his head towards Craig, making the other wonder how he never got a whiplash from doing that, Tweek had ran up to him. But instead of hugging him as Craig had expected, he had thrusted a black piece of fabric in his hand. A blindfold.
Craig raised a brow at Tweek.
“Wow babe, I never realized how kinky you were.”
“W-What?! Dude, shut up and just put on the blindfold!”
“Alright, but before we do it I would like to request that we do it on a blanket please? I don’t want my ass to be bitten by ants or something.”
“GAH! I’m- I’m trying to do something romantic here! Can’t you keep it in your pants for one night?!”
“Hey, sex can be very romantic, you know. Especially face to face, staring into each other’s eyes as I thrust- Ow! Okay, okay I’ll stop!” Craig laughed as Tweek smacked his shoulder in embarrassment.
Once he wrapped the blindfold around his eyes, he allowed Tweek to grab his hands and tug them to their actual destination. Lightly brushing his fingers across Tweek’s bony fingers, he mused of what Tweek had in store for them.
Today was the anniversary they had gotten together. 8 long years together, yet for Craig it felt as the last 8 years had passed by in a flash as he looked back at their time together. And with their high school life ending in just a few months, the next step to their journey would begin, starting with finally leaving this podunk town and to a bigger city where they would attend university. Together.
Thinking about the next step, Craig lightly patted the back of his pocket, making sure the box was still there.
“C-Craig?” Tweek called, pulling Craig out of his thoughts. “Um.. Ngh.. Is the blindfold okay?”
“It’s fine honey, I trust you.” Craig said wholeheartedly, making Tweek squeak. Craig could just imagine his freckled face reddening like a tomato.
Feeling a familiar left turn then a right turn then how the ground elevated below their feet, Craig was very sure on where Tweek was taking them. It made the jet-haired boy smile and fondness bubble up in his chest.
The two stopped.
“O-Okay! You can take off the blindfold.”
Slipping the blindfold off, Craig smiled when he saw that he had been right.
They had arrived at their spot.
There spot was a small knoll surrounded by tall grass and shrubs. To outsiders it wasn’t anything special, but for Tweek and Craig it was their spot.
The place where they had their first date and their first kiss. The place where the two had exchanged their first “I love you’s” and spent most of their dates away from prying eyes. They even had their first fight here, so long, long ago. It was an odd thing to remember but thinking about that silly little argument made Craig smile. They had come a long way since then.
Spread across the grassy hill was a picnic basket with a large picnic basket on top. Tweek stood in front of the small layout shyly, and in his hands was a small but beautiful bouquet of blue flowers. Tweek smiled at Craig and held out the bouquet to Craig, who took it graciously and pecked the blond’s lips in gratitude.
Tweek smiled at Craig, wearing a light blush.
“Happy 8th anniversary, love.”
“Happy anniversary, Mi Sol.” Craig returned, practically melting when he heard the pet name fall from Tweek’s lips. God, he loved used pet names with him.
Taking their seats, Tweek quickly laid out all that he brought from the picnic baskets. Sandwiches, fruit salad, cheese and bread, juice pouches, and most importantly the cupcakes. It was simple but seeing all the food made Craig lick his lips and make his stomach growl. He hadn’t eaten anything since lunch, and anything made by Tweek was sure to be divine.
Especially those cupcakes.
“Here, let me.” Tweek offered, picking a grape and bringing it up to Craig’s lips. He squealed when Craig not only took the grape but his fingers too, biting down gently and licking the tip of his fingers teasingly. Tweek pulled his hands back with a laugh. “Down boy!”
Craig gave a lopsided grin.
They spent the next half hour just eating and feeding each other or staring up at the twinkling stars. Another reason why Craig loved this small spot. This was the best place to see the starry skies in all its glory in all of South Park. He would miss this place when they moved. He doubted there would be a place like this in the big city.
As he and Tweek gazed up at the dark, jeweled sky, with Craig pointing out constellations and space facts that Tweek had certainly heard of before but would listen with attentive affection, Craig wanted this time to last forever. But like every similar wish he made before, he knew it would end eventually.
However, while this night could last forever, he would make it the most damn memorable night in their lives.
“Tweek, do you want to dance?”
“Huh?” Surprised, Tweek lifted his head up to look at Craig who stared back, his face entirely serious. “Wait, really? Since when did Craig Tucker dance? Do you even know how to dance?”
Craig snorted and pushed the other off. “Come on, we’re dancing.”
“So pushy.” Tweek tutted, laughing as Craig pulled him up from the blanket and to the grassy floor. Tweek peered up at Craig as the taller awkwardly linked their fingers and swayed their arms. “You have no idea how to dance.”
“Do you?” Craig challenged.
Tweek smirked up at Craig and he absolutely melted under that confident grin.
Taking one of Craig’s arms to wrap around his waist and taking his other hand to lace with his, Tweek wrapped his free arm around Craig’s neck. Tweek then started swaying them, slowly spinning them to a silent song. Craig couldn’t stop gazing into Tweek’s eyes, absolutely smitten with the blond in front of him. Catching that look, Tweek shyly smiled back.
“Is this fine?”
“More than fine, honey. But I’m almost afraid to ask… Who exactly have you been dancing with? You’re rather good at this.”
Tweek rolled his eyes. “What are you insinuating? Who would want to dance with me? Ngh- I just saw some dancing videos- and it seemed pretty easy to copy.”
Craig wanted to roll his eyes and barely held himself from snorting. He could think of plenty of people who would want to dance with Tweek, having grown fond of the blond over the years. Craig had even seen the way they would look at Tweek, yearning and jealousy in their eyes as they wished they were in Craig’s place. Well too fucking bad for all of them, Tweek was all his. And it would stay that way, hopefully forever after today.
The two continued spinning and swaying aimlessly, but neither minded as they soaked each other’s presence. Not even the passing cold breeze could abate this romantic air.
Craig then remembered the small box in his pockets.
He took a deep, shuddery breath.
It was now or never, Craig Tucker.
“Tweek-”
“CraigIwantustobetogetherforever!Willyoumarryme?!”
“...What?”
That was all Craig could say, his breath hitching. In his own concern, he had missed the myriad of expression that had passed Tweek's face as he tried to find the perfect opening for a proposal, only to end up blurting it out.
Tweek was flushed and pale at the same time, but he looked sincere and determined.
“I- Uh- I-I actually had my speech planned way smoother than just blurting it out like that! I promise! B-But I got nervous- And I just wanted everything to be perfect but I got distracted by you and- Well-”
Tweek took a deep breath, trying to calm his frenetic mind. Though Craig's own heart was beating against his chest that it felt like it was going to pop out at any moment, he helped calming Tweek down, rubbing his arm reassuringly and waiting patiently for the blonde to gather his thoughts.
Craig gasped when Tweek dropped to one knee and shakily pulled out a velvet box from his back pocket.
“Craig Tucker… You are the best damn thing to ever happen to me.” Tweek said, voice strong and loud. It was just the start of the proposal, but there were already tears in Craig’s eyes. “Even though we got together in the most abrupt way, I’m so glad that out of everyone those Asian Girls could have chosen, it was you and me. And I know I’m not the easiest to deal with, hell I get tired of myself all the time! But even when it feels as if the world is falling around me, you are always there, keeping me steady and calm… And I want to stay by your side, for better or worse, in sickness and health. As long as you have me by my side, I want to cherish every single day. Together. And I promise to cherish you as you've for me. So… Will you marry me?”
Tweek opened the box, and inside was a silver band with a studded star and moon.
Craig stared, tears streaming down his face and a large smile on his face.
“Tweek… I…” Craig couldn’t say anymore, not with his words stuck in his throat. So sinking to his knees, Craig brought out his own velvet box and opened it for Tweek to see, who stared with wide eyes. A golden band with a studded star and sun. Craig gave a wobbly smile. “You beat me right to the punch. Tweek, will you-”
“Yes!” Tweek all but pounced onto Craig, who barely caught the other as he fell flat on his back. “Yes! Yes! Yes!”
“I haven’t even said my proposal yet!” Craig laughed giddily, hugging the blond close.
“I don’t care- Just- Yes!” Tweek exclaimed, pressing a kiss against Craig’s chapped lips, which the other returned.
The two shared several more kisses, unwilling to part anytime soon. Though the rising heat between them dissipated when Craig jumped with a yelp, dislodging Tweek from his lap. It turned out that Craig had landed on top of a small ant hill.
It was a rather irritating start to their new chapter, and Craig's dislike for ants just grew as he kept shaking them off him, but as they walked to the Tucker residence hand in hand with new rings adorning their fingers, the two shared a large smile, ready to start their new chapter together.
