“Quite the scar, Fullmetal.”
It’s not tinged with douchery as the Colonel’s voice tends to be, layered with teasing and needling as it so often is when they speak to one another. No, it’s a simple observation today, eyes pointed half at the gnarled bump of tissue on the back of his head, poking of from the bright red sleeve he’s using to cover it, half on paperwork.
Still, he can’t help but bristle and hide his hand, tucking it underneath the starch fabric of his overcoat like a turtle crawling back into a shell.
