The Door To You

Summary:

Jisung looks down and sees himself wearing a pair of black boxers, and nothing else.
The room around him is pitch black. A void with no defined walls or floors. No textures or details.
A single white door shines in front of him.
Jisung cautiously approaches it, hoping he won’t fall, squinting at its natural luminescence. It is unremarkable, except for its gold doorknob. It is not too big or too small. It is perfectly Jisung sized.
“Where does the door go, Jisung?”

OR: The 4 doors Jisung walks through to fall in love with Minho, and the one door he walks through to meet him for the first time

Notes:

Written for MINSUNG FICATHON, for PROMPT P432
A single door sits in the middle of nowhere, leading to seemingly nothing. [What] happens when you walk through it?

Thanks to the mods for running this, and to the person who submitted prompt P432 for lighting up the proper brain synapses to turn this into the fever dream it became. This marathon has helped me enjoy writing again, and for that, I am deeply grateful. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Jisung looks down and sees himself wearing a pair of black boxers, and nothing else.

The room around him is pitch black. A void with no defined walls or floors. No textures or details.

A single white door shines in front of him.

Jisung cautiously approaches it, hoping he won’t fall, squinting at its natural luminescence. It is unremarkable, except for its gold doorknob. It is not too big or too small. It is perfectly Jisung sized.

“Where does the door go, Jisung?”

The omniscient voice startles Jisung. It is not booming or ominous. It doesn’t even scare him. It is playful, questioning, and sounds vaguely familiar to a deep part of his soul. The same part that is pulling him towards the door.

He grabs the doorknob and pushes forward, entering the room in front of him without the same fear or trepidation he might have in the real world.

For surely this is not the real world. It must be a bizarre dream, Jisung thinks as he crosses the door’s threshold to this new place.

It is not just a bizarre dream, but a sign, a piece. The first piece of many.

What kind of sign? Jisung will find out in time.
