Work Text:
Evangeline Fox had always taken Halloween seriously. Ever since her parents had introduced her to the holiday, she’d always been serious about it. The thing she was most passionate about? The costumes.
Every year she’d dress up as a character from a fairytale. From princesses to fairies, she’d probably done it. But for the first time in her 18 years of life, she got to do a couples costume.
Evangeline was so excited to–
“No.”
“What?” Evangeline pouted. “Please Jacks, I want us to dress up together.”
Her boyfriend of a year, Jacks, raised an eyebrow at her. “What’s the point of dressing up?”
“We can go to parties and get candy! We can even see Castor and Lala.” Evangeline said, exasperated.
“I don’t want to see anyone but you, Little Fox.”
The pink haired girl blushed and shook her head. “But I wanna see Lala.”
Jacks stared at her for a moment, his blue eyes studying her. After a moment he sighed.
“Fine but only for a little while. What did you want to dress up as?”
Evangeline’s eyes sparkled and she squealed as she got up from the couch and headed towards the bookcase by the TV. She pulled out a leather pink book that looked like it had seen better days. The pages were worn and the spin was cracked but looked well loved.
Eva handed Jacks the book. Her boyfriend didn’t say anything as he flipped through the pages, reading the story.
Once he was done he looked up at her. “So you want us to be the Archer and the Fox?”
Eva smiled and nodded. “Yes…it’s my favorite story. I still have yet to dress up as the Fox because I was looking for my Archer. It seems I’ve found him.”
Jacks smiled and set the book on the coffee table. He grabbed her hips and pulled her into his lap.
“It’s an honor to be your Archer.” he said as he kissed her neck.
Evangeline smiled and blushed. “And it’s an honor to be your Little Fox. Come on, let’s go get ready.”
–
Evangeline worried that the dress would be too revealing. She bit her lip as she inspected the costume. The pink fur dress matched perfectly to her hair but it was just so…short. It barely reached her mid-thigh and it hugged her already large chest in a way that made it look like it could spill out.
She sighed as she placed the fox ear headband on her head. The costume also came with fur gloves and a tail.
Evangeline turned towards the bathroom door and slowly opened it. Jacks leaned against the padded headboard of their bed, his eyes lazily watching the tv on the dresser.
His blue eyes quickly caught sight of her. They widened as he trails his eyes over her costume. A dark tint came over them.
“No.” Jacks growled.
“What do you mean No?” Evangeline asked, putting her hands on her hips.
Jacks was silent for a few moments, his eyes moving back and forth on her costume.
“Okay here’s how this is going to go. You can wear that but you must wear one of my shirts over it, because that,” He motions at her body. “Is for my eyes only.”
Evangeline worried her lip between her teeth. She knew this was probably the only was to go out with Jacks tonight. She sighed and relented, walking over to their dresser and pulling out a white button down shirt.
Jacks suddenly appeared in front of her, fastening the buttons for her. His fingers lingered on her breast as he fastened the buttons.
Once he reached the bottom he took a step back and nodded. Evangeline smiled and walked over towards her vanity. Jacks followed her but when she went to sit down at her vanity, he picked her up so he could sit down with her in his lap.
Eva blushed at the notion and quickly turned towards her vanity, grabbing her favorite bubblegum pink lipstick. Jacks placed his head in the crook of her neck and watched as she swiped her lipstick on and popped her lips a few times.
Jacks leaned further over her shoulder and kissed her lips. A drag of lipstick painted his lips and he smirked.
“I know how to make my costume better….” He whispered.
“Oh yeah?” Evangline asked breathily.
“Mhm…kiss me all over, Little Fox. Show the world that this Archer already has a mate.”
The pink haired girl blushed but nodded. She took her lipstick back out, reapplied it, and then leaned forward to kiss Jacks’s neck, even leaving a few soft nibbles on his neck.
Evangelien trailed her kisses up to his ears and cheeks, essentially painting him in lipstick. Once his face was covered, she leaned down and kissed his hands. She kissed his fingers and the back of his hands.
She leaned back and admired her art on the love of her life. Not many people expected it, but Evangeline was actually very possessive of Jacks.
Whenever they’ve gone to parties before, some girls would blatantly flirt with him in front of her. (Those girls may or may not have ended up with swollen cheeks.) Though Jacks always ignored it or shut it down, sometimes it ate at her insides and made her wonder-
“You're in your head again, Little Fox.”
Evangeline blinked at him a few times and sighed. “Sorry…I was just getting possessive.”
Jacks chuckled and kissed her forehead. “I know and I love that side of you. I love all sides of you. I love you.”
She sighed and smiled. “I love you too, Jacks. More than anything.”
Jacks smiled as he reached behind her and picked up her lipstick. He uncapped it and twisted the bottom. He put Eva’s chin between his thumb and pointer finger.
Jacks placed the lipstick on her lower lip and started to apply it for her, before he was done he stole one more kiss to paint his lips and then swiped on one last coat before capping the lipstick.
Evangeline smiled and hugged him “Come on, my love. Let’s go only for a little bit.”
Jacks smirked. “Then what happens when we get home?”
“You get to see what you didn’t want anyone else to see.”
