“Well that’s unfortunate.” Fox whirled around at Obi Wan’s voice, the body of the Chancellor at his feet damning evidence. “I had hoped I would get here first.” He stepped over to Fox, igniting his blade, the vibrant orange still as startling as the first time Fox had seen it, and stabbing it into the Chancellor’s heart, right next to where Fox’s own blade had slid home, just to make sure he was dead.
“Yeah well,” Fox shrugged, “I wasn’t going to let an opportunity pass us by.”
“Of course not.” Obi Wan wrapped an arm around Fox’s shoulders and Fox leaned into him. “I still think we should be able to turn this into some useful PR.”
If the Republic had been surprised when Obi Wan Kenobi accepted their nomination for him to take the place of Interum Chancellor, they were even more surprised when he crushed the CIS beneath his heel and then followed it up with the destruction of most of the governments who had treated the vode poorly. Even more surprising to some was the eventual announcement of Fox’s role as Emperor Consort, a welcome break for Fox after all of the stress and scheming of the war.
