Ingo was alone at work today. Emmet had a bad cold and, after some coercing, agreed to stay home to rest. After making sure everything Emmet might need was within easy reaching distance, and Archeops was ready to get anything else, Ingo wished the two of them a good day and left for work.
What Ingo forgot to take into account, was that Emmet wouldn’t actually rest while home sick. When did he?
Ingo’s Xtrans buzzed for the fifth time since the battle started.
Apparently, Emmet had decided to bother Ingo. Despite knowing his schedule and that his lunch break wasn’t for another couple hours.
It buzzed again.
Emmet had better be dying or something.
“Crustle, X-Scissor!” Ingo called, taking a moment to glance at his wrist. Emmet’s newest text sat at the top of the notification list.

Good to know the only emergency was that Emmet’s cold medicine was making him loopy.
Ingo managed to tap the auto reply button, saying that he was busy, before he needed to call another move. That would hopefully stop Emmet’s spam messaging.
His Xtrans buzzed four more times, then finally fell silent for the rest of the battle.
After congratulating his challenger for winning and putting his own team in the healing station, Ingo took a seat. Ignoring Emmet’s messages for now, he opened the battle logs. No one else was on this train, but it looked like he was in for a rush the next trip depending on how many people actually made it to his car. With some spare time to kill, Ingo opened Emmet’s messages.

Ingo scrolled back up to the video. He turned up the volume slightly and tapped it.
Immediately, loud screeching filled the car. If the device wasn’t attached to Ingo’s wrist, he would have thrown his Xtrans at the far door. After smacking at the screen a few times, while simultaneously trying to keep it as far away as possible, the video paused.
Ingo took a second to calm down. Once his bones weren’t shaking under his skin and his teeth weren’t revolting against him, he looked at the screen. There was a man holding a metal fork against a glass plate right next to the microphone. Presumably, he had been scratching them together to make that awful sound. Ingo’s skin crawled just thinking about it.
He carefully closed the video, as to not accidently play it again, and scrolled back to the bottom of the message log.

Ingo couldn’t help but laugh. He managed to send one last message through tears to make sure Emmet knew he wasn’t actually mad at him. Not that he thought Emmet had taken the joking threat that way, but it was always good to be clear.
